REBELLION Elliot buried his head in is arms and sighed again. He took a short moment before looking up. "I dunno. Honestly, he's kind of a rumor? Like, the boogeyman that runs around the school at night. I don't think any of the students have ever really seen him. Maybe I'm just reaching here, he might not even be real." He was ramblng a bit, but he couldn't help it. "I, I think I gotta go. Don't wanna get anyone suspicious. Sorry." He grabbed his back and, with a final quick look at Naomi, he hurried out of the shop.

Alright, at the moment Bill is down, the Dormouse is gone and the Tea Party Guests are, for the moment, restrained. A few suggestions on how to proceed, but feel free to come up with your own! - Track the signal! Protectron's already working on that. - Interrogate Bill the Lizard. You can probably shake him awake. - Look for other hotspots of activity in the city for new leads.

Also, as discussed with KD, some potential titles for the five knights: Owain the Lion Knight Gawain the Green Knight Bedivere the Wizard Knight Lancelot the Best Knight Mordred the Dragon Knight
-
Alright, I got something now Knight: Owain, the Lion KnightSecret ID: Human Man, mid 20'es. Caucasian/European. Has a beard, slightly long hair. Black hair.Character Themes: Pride, leadership, force of personality. Owain is a proud knight, a leader of men. While this gives him great strength, it also makes it difficult to admit his mistakes or to forgive and forget. He has a lot to live up to for the Owains in the past.Extra Powers: None yet.Armor Colors: Blue and Gold, lion imagery.Concept/Backstory: The man that becomes Owain knows little of Arthurian myths, though he is slowly awakening memories of different versions of Owain. These are disjointed, random and from many different cycles, giving him a sometimes skewed image of what happened in the past. He is a leader, coordinating the others and establishing communication using his psychic powers. He is a proud individual, often taking a dim view of anyone wrongdoings from the past, including Mordred. I imagine that he will be the most opposed to Mordred among the knights, with the two being positioned with a bit of rivalry: Lion vs. Dragon. He will have psychic powers granted by his armor, full on telepathy and telekinesis, or whatever other abilities like that I find interesting.

Diplomacy cus Pan's making friends! 26

"That seemed a bit excessive, did it not? And why not? I am sure that Eira has been to space once or twice." Pan winced at the remains of the robot, before turning his attention to the newcomers. Danica was already approaching, so he took the chance to lean closer to Ashley to whisper. "They were talking scanning a prize and having some meat." Then he was off, flying by Danica, his feet gliding lightly over the ground. "Hello, hello! What rings you fine gentlebeings to the Earth? Is there any chance I could interest you in some food? I am sure we can find a good restaurant somewhere close by! We can sit and have a chat about everything that is going on here."

Spaceman "That's an excellent point, Nightscale!" Parker pointed at him. "See, you can be who you choose to be, kids. You might not like your powers, you might think they're dangerous, but you decide what you do with your powers, you decide who you want to be." He circled around the kids to the digital blackboard, turning it on and quickly drawing a big dragon and a killer robot. When Valeria looked at him for support, he just smiled and shrugged. She needed to come out of her shell a bit, after all. "You see this, kids? Big, scary, right?" Then he draw some more, and now the dragon was helping lift a bus, helping a person crawl out from under it, and the robot was holding up a bridge, with a smile on his ways. "Its all a question of what you choose to do. If you want to help out, if you want to do good, then you can. You just gotta figure out how."

GM The girl looked up at Shift, her eyes very wide. She looked over to Mr. Powers, like she was trying to decide if it was alright or not to ask what she was about to ask. He shrugged and smiled, letting her make the choice. "Um, can you turn into... Forever Boy? He's my favorite."

GM The man barely had time to let out a yelp before the dark night detective's blow. The Raven's strike was perfect. His aim true. On its own, the strike could have been enough to stop him. The shocking gauntlets only sealed the deal. As soon as he was hit, he fell, dropping to the ground, unmoving.

Pan placed a hand on Micah's shoulder. "I will be with you, my friend. I will keep watch. Get ready, and we will go." Once both we ready, Pan would do his thing. It was easy to leave when nothing could find you, a simple illusion of nothing around them. Once on the roof, he would spread it further to encompass Eira as well. They could see and hear each other. No one could see or hear them. Pan was, of course, in his uniform. "What direction do we need to go? I will cover us as long as we need."

"Well, you are obviously the ones that are here to learn! That makes you sidekicks" Pan boldly declared, raising his hand of the arm that Eira wasn't holding to the sky. "The two of you wish to learn how to be proper tricksters? There is much more to it than just taking things that do not belong to you." He shot Leon a knowing look. He admired the stamp on his hand for a moment as they moved into the amusement park, before continuing in. "No, no, I agree with Eira here." He waved Leon and Luke off with a smirk. "You don't seem quite like you can handle something like that. Maybe it is better that you sit and rest. Enjoy the sights."

"Oh." Pan looked at the frightened child, then at the ghostly Eira. Like a switch had been flicked, he had calmed down. He motioned with his hand towards the ghost, spreading out golden dust. The image of the ghost appeared even to those that could not see it. "I believe they are right." His voice was calmer than it had been just before, the fury gone. "It was you, once upon a time." He didn't even seem to care about the scientist right now, though he couldn't help but look towards the child.

GM The ravens laughed at the display. "They are more like their parents and benefactors than they might think, are they not?" one asked the other. The other seemed to nod, agreeing. "Yes, yes! Thor and Loki would be proud!" They both laughed, flapping the wings to rise into hte air, flying while looking, ready to move at the slightest provocation. "Oh, how mighty, how proud you are! Warriors born, all of you!" More laughter. "Open your eyes. Look. Look!" The ravens moved, parting from each other. To the North, in the mountains near the Oslo Winter Park, massive humanoid shapes moved across the mountains, heading towards Oslo itself.

Holger Danske "Ha, you're an interesting bunch, aren't you?" Holger's voice boomed, he almost shook with laughter. Ratatoskr had returned to his shoulder by now. "Come on, come on, don't listen to that valkyrie! Don't worry about about it, duke it out, let's see who's best! Here, here, I'll even throw Holger in, mortals against gods, that'll be something, right?" Not entirely unamused, Holger tried to swat the squirrel off his shoulder, only to have it move over his back and reach the other shoulder. "I'm sure you're all mighty warriors, but how about you prove yourselves against whatever these ravens want us to fight, and then you can smash each other up for all I care. Hell, I'll even join you." He rolled his shoulders. "I'll show you kids how we did things back with Charlemagne and Roland."

She can't recognize the blue powder, but its likely that its something new.

Original idea was Galahad, but honestly, I'm not sure what I'd do there. I've started considering using Ywain/Owain (I kinda like Owain better, but eh), going off his Lion motif. Going from that, he would be a proud leader type, getting most of the different leadership, inspire, etc. feats. Not really sure what to do beyond that yet, or if that's what I'll go for. Or maybe Sir Kay. Go for the size-changing, always wanted to make an Atom/Ant-Man type character... decisions, decisions...

Remake and rebuild from the bottom up. Has he been active since becoming the Dust Devil, growing into a Ghost Rider/Deadman-esque figure, or is it someone new? Maybe just ignore old stuff that never really mattered? Lean more heavily into the Cowboy aesthetic and Supernatural. A Sand based Ghost Rider. 180PP slot. PL12 Add a Midnight Mission inspired location in Lantern Hill as base of operations, get with vet rewards Original sheet: https://www.freedomplaybypost.com/topic/10763-dust-devil-ii-pl-12-rocketlord/ DUST DEVIL II Power Level: 12 (180/180PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: -5 Defense / +5 Toughness In Brief: The successor of the Dust Devil legacy, expanding his protectorate beyond just Magic Mesa. Theme: Alternate Identity: Cassidy Collins Birthplace: Southside, Freedom City Residence: Broken Crow Refuge on Halifax Street 16, Lantern Hill, Freedom City Base of Operations: Lantern Hill Occupation: Guardian of Magic Mesa Affiliations: Magic Mesa Family: John Collins (father, born 1962), Pearl Collins (née Hart, mother, borm 1961), William 'Billy' Collins (born 2003), Benjamin Collins (paternal uncle, born 1965) DESCRIPTION Age: Born on June 5th 1987 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 6'0'' Weight: 203 lbs., variable Eyes: Blue Hair: Black Cassidy Collins is a Caucasian man that looks perhaps a few years older than his age. He has wild, but short black hair and a short black beard. While he can look normal with effort, his skin will often appear to crack, like the ground in a desert. His eyes are blue and glow. He prefers to wear flanel or dress shirts with jeans and a old tan duster jacket, which he will often supplement with various scarves or cowboy hats. He tends to wear nicer clothing at the Broken Crow Refuge when taking in those that need his help, such as supplementing the dress shirts with vests or gloves, or wearing sunglasses to hide his unnatural looking eyes. He very much styles himself as a modern day desperado or cowboy. Cassidy's body and clothing will turn to sand at will, often taking on various half-dissolved sand forms as he moves about. HISTORY Cassidy Collins had never been a golden child, but he had never been a bad kid either. He grew up poor, but he made do, working various jobs to make ends meet, including helping his uncle Benjamin out with some of his less legal activities. One such job involved driving out into the Painted Desert in Arizona in 2019. Unfortunately, Cassidy discovered that his uncle was smuggling stolen weaponry from the 2018 Terminus Invasion. Benjamin killed Cassidy to maintain the secret. Cassidy died in the desert, afraid, alone and abandoned. Only, it wasn't the end. Hours later, Cassidy opened his eyes. He was alive, only he wasn't. His heart no longer beat, and he was alone. The Magic Mesa had reached out to Cassidy, chosing him as it's newest guardian, it's new Dust Devil. Cassidy returned to Freedom City. He tried to use his powers to be a hero. Tried to make his family proud, but that was never meant to be his path. The Dust Devil was meant for something else. As his powers began to evolve and grow, he found himself drawn away, towards the Magic Mesa and beyond. Becoming less man and more a force of nature as time progressed and he fought threats where the Magic Mesa led him, Cassidy would eventually come to accept that he had become something quite inhuman, the will of a dead man in the form of a sandstorm. He fully embraced the mantle of the Dust Devil, the supernatural guardian of the Magic Mesa. Eventually, the path set out for Cassidy by the Magic Mesa would lead him back to Freedom City. As always, the city would become the center of major ramifications for the world, and the Mesa wanted its guardian to stand ready. Cassidy established the Broken Crow Refuge on Halifax Street 16 in Lantern Hill, and quickly set about establish the Refuge as the place to come for anyone in need. PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION Cassidy Collins is a serious individual, with a dry sense of humor. His main motivation in life is to fulfil his charge, by protecting those that seek his aid at the Broken Crow Refuge, or those that he is guided to help by the Magic Mesa. He does not go out of his way to get into trouble of his own accord, but he has, despite his own complaints to the opposite, a strong sense of right and wrong, and he is liable to find trouble by putting himself in danger to keeps others safe. He is blunt and to the point, rarely putting on a show, instead prefering the most direct route to disable a threat. Cassidy has resigned himself to his role as an undead guardian, doing the bidding of the Magic Mesa with little question. He doesn't realize that the Mesa affords him as much freedom as he would like, and that his choices matter much more than he knows. Perhaps he will one day learn that the Magic Mesa would afford him to have a life. POWERS & TACTICS All of Cassidy's powers come from the magic of the Magic Mesa. Appointed as the Mesa' newest Dust Devil, Cassidy has become a being of living sand. Like the previous Dust Devil, Cassidy cannot be killed and he requires no rest or sustenance, and while he has yet to see the signs, he has stopped aging. He is incredibly resilient to damage, being able to shrug off most attacks by instantly rebuilding his sand body, which also means he is unaffected by most kinds of poison and diseases. If Cassidy sustains enough damage to actually hurt his body, he can rebuild himself. Cassidy can manipulate and expand the sand that makes up his body, using it to reshape his body, creating weapons made out of sand or even summon a steed made out of sand that he can ride. He can create sand and dust storms powerful enough to flay the skin off his enemies, either damaging them or flaying their or damage to weaken them. He can spread out the sand in his body, spreading it to make him more difficult to hurt, or reform in another position. He can even use sand as a medium to travel across the globe. COMPLICATIONS Betrayed: Cassidy was betrayed and killed by his own uncle. He understandably has some trouble fully trusting others. The GM can award Dust Devil a Hero Point if his lack of trust in others complicates a situation. Broken Crow Refuge: Cassidy has dedicated himself to the Broken Crow Refuge, and he is bound to at least listen to the pleas of those that come to it to seek his aid, most likely putting him in trouble as he seek to help them. Dead Like Me: Cassidy died. Then he came back. The experience was traumatic, and while he believes that he has dealt with his feelings on the matter, he hasn't. His undead state as a sand creature might also mean negative reactions from the world around him, if they learn what he is. The GM can award Dust Devil a Hero Point if his status as an undead being made of sand causes issues, such as in social or medical situations. Dust Devil Legacy: The Dust Devil is an almost mythic figure. The protector of Magic Mesa, he is a ruthless guardian. Those that know of the first Dust Devil can be predisposed towards Cassidy, for good or bad. The GM can award Dust Devil a Hero Point if the Dust Devil Legacy makes them negatively predisposed towards him. Guardian of Magic Mesa: Cassidy's powers come with a price. While not as strictly bound as the first Dust Devil, he must protect the Magic Mesa if needed, forcefully being drawn to its protection. This can both mean direct threats at the Magic Mesa, as well as more indirect threats, such as those whose actions could simply threaten the gateways between worlds. This can lead to Cassidy becoming involved in situations and battles he would rather have avoided, or being forced to abruptly leave his current location. The GM can award Dust Devil a Hero Point if the Magic Mesa forces him to return to protect it at an inopportune time, or nudges him to get involved in a conflict he would rather not. Whatever Happened to the Dust Devil: The old Dust Devil is gone, and Cassidy has taken his place as guardian of Magic Mesa. He doesn't know whether the first Dust Devil moved on, died or was otherwise rendered unable to fulfill his duties. I like all the ideas here! Adding to the Power Rangers/Sentai/Etc. thing with colors and armors, should we go full on mecha at some point? We could, eventually or at the start, spring for a Morph power with Metamorph each, which would be for a big armor with Growth, maybe bumping their PL up a bit, if we want to lean completely into that part of the theme. Giant Knight Armor. Look at my Justice sheet for how that could work. I got a good idea for an Arthur pretender type villain, actually, so that fits well. As for Mordred, @RedSpine had some plans for potentially playing one in that role, which I think we should leave open, in case they want to do that. I'll try to do a post to summarize everything so far in the thread when I got the time/brain power, then maybe its time to start building characters soon. So, what are your ideas for what knights you're going for?

GM A little girl gasped when Shift turned into Elsa. She was slightly pale, with long blonde hair tied into a braid that reached her hips. She wore a little emerald green dress. She almost jumped while she held her hand up, waving for attention. When her teacher nodded at her, she lowered her hand. "Um, um... Are you a real fairy tale dragon? Like the kind that sleeps on gold?" She was almost bouncing when she turned to Shift. "And, and! Can you turn into anything?"

Spaceman Parker smiled, crossed his arms and standing aside to let the children swarm while the kids demonstrated what they could do, putting on a show. "Good observation, Lucas." He wasn't really surprised. Of course Lucas would do something like that. "Your mom got a point, y'know. Nanomachines can be dangerous, but so can anything else. That doesn't mean that we have to be scared of our friend Shift, here. They're a person just like us, and, well, anything can be dangerous in the wrong hands, right?" "That's the point of learning how to be better, after all."

"The writing is on the wall," Pan stated. He sounded amused at the entire experience. "That one," he pointed to one side, "says: Watch out, cargo door." With a brief pause, he pointed to the other side of the room. "And that one says exit." He looked around, he seemed distracted. "This all feels very familiar. Do the space of your world have pirates?" He still seemed distracted, looking around. His eyes focused on a flying thing, a little robot that whirred around. His lips split into a smile. He nodded towards it, and his shadow came loose from his feet, flying towards the little robot to try and engulf it.
