  1. Time for Pan to work some magic. I stunt the following power off the Tricks array and use a Move Action to activate it, giving all the PCs Flight 6: - Flight 6 (Extras: Affects Others, Area [General Burst], Feats: Progression [Area] 1, Selective) (60 ft. radius) (500 MPH / 4400 ft./rnd) {26/26} And spend a Hero Point to get rid of the Fatigue. Then I use Obscure to give everyone that gets to move after Übermensch a chance to not be hit. Visual Obscure near Church, 20 rounds, full fade 29 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed24 - Specimen - 3HP - Unharmed22 - Übermensch - Unharmed18 - Rebound - 4HP - Unharmed17 - Watchdog - 1HP - Bruise (x3) - 3 assorted explosives used11 - Daystar - Bruise (x1)2 - Legatus - 1HP - Bruise (x1)
  2. GM The monster trashed against the container. The air flow was starting to be affected, even if it wasn't entirely blocked yet. At least it seemed like Emerald Spider was on to something. It roared again, pulling back to slam against the container once more, when the small portal opened behind it. It didn't even see the electric pellet coming before it was hit in the back, the electric shock coursing through its body. Outside, Emerald Spider and Justice could hear another roar, just as angry as the one before it.
  3. Justice Wait, wait, bad guy trapped, pounding on the thing. So, what to do? Really just what should she do? ES sounded like she didn't have any idea aside from trying to keep him in there, and really, that was a great idea, but maybe, just maybe, trying to attack it somehow? But how were they gonna attack it while trapping it inside that thing? That was... yeah, she wasn't sure how she was gonna do that. Then... "I got it!" Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes! This was gonna be awesome! A quick look through the utility belt, a pair of goggles. Experimental x-ray goggles, the best kind of x-ray goggles. Put on top of the armor, and... yes, it worked! She could see everything the bad guy was up to in there. Then, adjusting her belt a bit and... yes, yes, this should work. One hand on her belt, the other on her gun, taking aim at the container and... maybe this would work. Pulling the trigger, the pellet flew towards the container. A small pinkish purple portal opened, the pellet disappearing into it. Another portal opened inside the container for a second, the bellet flying out towards the monster.
  4. Let's count it as layering snares on top of it. Each application adds +1 TOU, which might make it last a bit longer! If you manage to layer a total of 3 Snares on the container before he breaks out, he'll start getting hit by a rank 10 Suffocate effect. Justice grabs some X-Ray goggles from her utility belt and slaps over her armor, adding this power: Super-Senses 4 (Penetrates Concealment, Visual) [4PP] (H.U.D., Computer Analysis, Technology) That's her move action, and for her standard, she shoots in front of herself and starts using indirect to shoot at the bad guy while he's inside the container, which should catch him off guard: 29 Well, hits no matter what! DC21 TOU save for the bad guy: 16 Actually got lucky there! Bruise and a daze, and you're up 16 - Emerald Spider - 2HP - Unharmed 13 - Justice - 1HP - Unharmed 9 - Enemy - Bruise (x2), Trapped in Container (TOU+11) (1 Snare applied)
  5. Opposed roll to Taunt: 18 He's demoralized! And that's a hit. With your Autofire extra at just one target, that's +3 to DC, so a DC28 TOU save for the bad guy: 30 He makes it, no damage. Give me an IC, and I'll follow up with the enemy's actions. 20 - Villain - Unharmed, Shaken (-2ATK/Checks, 1 round) 18 - Spectre - 1HP - Unharmed 8 - Knight of Earth - 4HP - Unharmed
  6. Everyone gets a HP for saving the village! Yay, heroes! And with the little breather out of the way... Initiative: 22 Attack roll: 30 @secondling: Give me a DC36 TOU save. Übermensch is here and we're back in combat. I'll follow up with Forever Boy after I got the result of Legatus' save, in the case that Legatus goes flying. To be clear here: This is a fight that can maybe be won, but the objective should probably be escape. 29 - Forever Boy - 5HP - Unharmed24 - Specimen - 3HP - Unharmed 22 - Übermensch - Unharmed18 - Rebound - 4HP - Unharmed17 - Watchdog - 1HP - Bruise (x3) - 3 assorted explosives used11 - Daystar - Bruise (x1)2 - Legatus - 1HP - Bruise (x1)
  7. GM "Fairy boy's right." Macedon had finally caught up to the heroes outside the church. He was bent over, breathing heavily, but he was there. "The cave's opened up again. I've told everybody to get in there, and we'd better go too. Whatever the Magic Mesa wanted us to do, we've done it, an' its time to leave before we mess up time." He paused as he looked around at the fallen Übersoldaten, and whistled once, raising the tip of his hand. "You stopped the Übersoldaten? Guess you're all gettin' A+ for the class. Now, let's go. Don't wanna get caught here." The young heroes' celeration were shortlived. A whistling sound from above was their only warning. A streak of dark grey was all they would see, then the sound and shockwave from the impact as something struck Legatus. It was like thunder up close, like an explosion. The force, the speed of it all, for a moment he might think that the Centurion had arrived and mistaken him and the others for villains, or maybe Donar had returned to his feet and thrown the hammer, but as everything slowed down, it became clear that it was worse. Much, much worse. The man that had struck Legatus was tall, muscular and blonde. His dark grey uniform sported red gloves and the red and black SS insigna on his chest. Hovering above the ground, cosmic energies crackling around his fists, his eyes cold and calculating. He barely seemed to notice his fallen comrades, he only had eyes for the young American heroes that now surrounded him. Macedon was, for the first time since the students had met him, at a loss for words. His lips felt dry. His heart was beating like he had only experienced once before, the last time he had seen the monster that now stood before them. He could only barely manage to speak his warning to the students. "Übermensch... Everyone run! NOW!"
  8. Forever Boy "It is a rare thing that you can save everyone." Pan's voice was surprisingly somber. "But that does not mean that we should not try. I believe we did the best we could, today." He was hovering a bit above the others, looking like he was focusing, listening. "I can hear the people we saved. They are running towards a cave, to the North. Some old American told them to hide there." He grinned, while he could see Macedon making their way towards them. "At any rate, we were victorious! We defeated the great villains of the past! That should be cause for celebration, should it not?"
  9. ...
  10. Forever Boy All the noise, all the fighting from inside the church. Pan nodded quickly at Adam, then he was gone in a burst of Pixie Dust, flying inside to help... only to see Donar collapsed at the altar. Ashley was bound to him, but he was down, so as quick as he had entered, Pan flew back out, a golden staff forming in his hands. A quick blow to the back of the head, and, finally, Madame Blitz was down. "That was more difficult than expected," he mused for a second, aimed at Adam, or maybe no one in particular. "It seems they stopped everyone inside the church, care to join the rest with me?" With that he was gone, flying back inside. They were hurt, but at least everyone was still standing. Good, good. Stilll... "Is everyone alright? Adam and I got caught up in a bit of trouble, sorry we could not get here sooner."
  11. GM The full force of Legatus' blow collided with Donar's chest as he swooped in. For a second, time seemed to stand still, the Donar was sent flying back towards Daystar, with Watchdog being pulled along for the ride. Legatus' attack might have been effective, but it had unintended consequences, it seemed. Outside the church, Madame Blitz still struggled to remain standing, but she was not going down without a fight. Electricity crackled across her body, even if she seemed to have realized that they were losing. The people of the village continued to run towards the North, guided by Macedon. Gun in hand, he looked towards the church. "Damn kids. What are you waiting for? You can't stay here much longer, something's gonna go wrong."
  12. That is indeed a hit. TOU: 14 And Donar is out. @Avenger Assembled: Give me a DC15 Reflex save for Watchdog to avoid taking damage. If you fail, give me a DC20 TOU save. Next round. Forever Boy flies inside and finds everything alright, so going back out and attacking Madame Blitz, Accurate Attack for +2ATK/-2DC: 19, that's a hit. TOU vs DC25 for Madame Blitz: 19 Fail by 6, and since she's staggered, that takes her out. Everyone's down, so out of combat, but I'd still like to see AA's save. And I'm just gonna roll the pending saves for Rebound: Reflex: 30, yeah, he made it, no damage. 29 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed24 - Specimen - 2HP - Unharmed23 - Die Walküre - Bruise (x1) - On frontlines, near Forever Boy and Specimen. In Obscure effect.22 - Sea-Wolf - Unharmed, Bound and Helpless, No dodge bonus - On frontlines, between Forever Boy and Specimen (near the bridge) and the church. Still in Obscure effect20 - Roter Adler - KO18 - Rebound - 3HP - Unharmed17 - Watchdog - 0HP - Bruise (x3), Defense-1 to next turn, Entangled (ATK/DEF-2, DEX-4) - 3 assorted explosives used11 - Daystar - Bruise (x1), Dazed 11 - Die Eule - KO - Inside the Church11 - Madame Blitz - Bruise (x7), Staggered - Outside church, to the East, close to Forever Boy and Specimen11 - Enemy Combatants_____ Tanks: 4 smashed, 1 near Specimen and Forever Boy (1 damaged: Bruise (x1), Injury (x1))_____ Soldiers: 9 KO, 4 near Legatus, 10 near Specimen and Forever Boy7 - Donar - KO, Entangled (ATK/DEF-2, DEX-4) - Inside church2 - Legatus - 0HP - Unharmed
  13. Connor kneeled by the device while the others talked. At least Kronk was right about it being fried. No telling what it could do before it blew, so the frog could easily be lying. Maybe he should try looking into that. Picking it up, he stood back up as Triakosia finished her introduction. "Archer." His announcement of his identity done, he held the device out to Terrifica. "I know a little bit about mechanics, but this thing's way too advanced for me. Guessing you might have a better chance." If she didn't accept it, he would just pull it back and hold it. "If this thing is what brought you here and it doesn't work, then I guess you're stranded here? Probably better to work with the people here then, right?"
  14. GM That was all it took. The earth rising and smashing against all the crooks and they fell, all four disappearing, dissolving into small cubes before simply fading away. "Great job. Taking them all out in one hit, that's great." Armstrong did sound genuinely impressed, while he adjusted a dial and pressed some other buttons. "But let's see how you two deal with someone that's not such a pushover, yeah?" A large, imposing figure faded in, building up from small cubes, before taking on color. A massive, dark grey armored man, standing about 8 feet tall. The armor itself was featureless, aside from a red slit where the man's eyes would be. Immediately, the new enemy set to work, rushing towards Ivy and throwing a punch that went wide. More powerful? Maybe. Better hitter? Not so far.
  15. A new challenger appears. Initiative: 20 The new arrival gets to act first this turn, and he goes straight for Knight of Earth with a Strike: 10 And misses spectacularly. @Darksider42, you're up 20 - Villain - Unharmed 18 - Spectre - 1HP - Unharmed 8 - Knight of Earth - 4HP - Unharmed
  16. GM As the steam rose, the heroes found Sunburn on her knees, tears streaming down her cheeks. She was covered in soot, sobbing loudly. "This is all wrong!" She sounded almost like a child throwing a tantrum. "No, no, no, no." She leaned forward, starting to hammer her first into the pavement. "This was supposed to be easy! This wasn't supposed to happen like this!" She stopped beating at the ground for a moment, just sobbing, before looking up at Kanunu. "Emerald City's not supposed to have any heroes in this world! This place is supposed to be easy! He promised us this would be easy!"
  17. I think we're good for going out of combat now. No need to stick to strict posting order anymore.
  18. Justice Oh god, there was a freaking soundtrack too. Mars had thought about everything here, hadn't he? Of course he had. He was Max freaking Mars. The fluid was new. Not something she'd come up with, at least. It wasn't just her ideas at play here, then. Robin wasn't sure if she felt better or worse about that. As the helmet slid down over her head and the AR interface came to life, well... she felt off having her face exposed like this when in an armor. This wasn't how she worked normally. She really didn't need people to know everything about her. And those captions were just weird. Useful, but weird. Maybe there was some way to turn them off? She took a step forward, raising a hand and waving with a bit of hesitation, then froze completely when Max called her a warrior of justice. Come on, that could not just be a coincidence. He knew. Somehow, he knew. She was completely, absolutely sure that Max Mars knew that she was Justice. She had no idea how, but he had found her tech, he had used her tech and now, he was letting her know. At least he was a good guy. Could've been much worse if someone bad found out, right? She took a deep breath and lowered her hand, while looking at Max. Alright, alright. Chill. Stay in character. He might know, but nobody else did, and she was Robin Lynne Langley, super hero fan girl. This was the chance of a life time, and she had 500 hero points. Aqua pack, Blaster pack, Flight pack, Stealth pack and Tank pack available. That was, well... not an overwhelming amount of options. All labelled starter packs. Had to mean that she could get access to something else at some point. That weird golden light was distracting. What was it? "Seems like I got access to a number of power packs. Any recommendations, Mr. Mars?" Yes. Stall a bit. And... what was that weird golden light. She at least tried to turn to get a good look at it.
  19. All hits, rolling TOU saves that they can't make, but eh: 17 11 12 All failed, that takes out the rest of the goons. Give me an IC, and I'll follow up with a GM post and some more trouble. 18 - Spectre - 1HP - Unharmed 18 - Goons x4 - 3x Unharmed, 1x KO 8 - Knight of Earth - 4HP - Unharmed
  20. GM If lights were spilling from Judy's eyes, the Alice was starting to positively glow with rainbow light. Alice seemed quite unimpressed with Ashley standing between them, looking straight past her and at Judy again. "You want him, don't you? You want my Micah?" As the sky darkened and Micah called out, it seemed like she finally noticed Ashley and the gun. Her eyes went wide, the rainbow glow fading as she quickly stepped back, hiding behind Micah. Whatever made it easier to clear his head, whatever made him able to think clearly? The moment she touched him again, her hands on his shoulder, that seemed to be gone "Micah! Look what they're doing! She's gonna shoot me!"
  21. Is Ms. Hancock still in the classroom, or did she physically lead those nasty troublemakers to the office herself?
  22. GM Armstrong shook his head. "Just keep pushin', O'Brian..." Down in the simulator, one of the hard light construct criminals looked up just in time to see that Max had disappeared, and then he was hit in the back of the head with the kick. He stumbled forward, falling to the floor where he stopped moving. "Points for effectivity, O'Brian, but turn down the brutality a bit." All three remaining criminals raised their handguns and started shooting, even if they did little to move out of the way. Not that their bullets hit anything, going wide and flying all over the place.
  23. Well, let's see if you do! These guys are minions, so I'll just roll for their initiative once: 18 Since Spectre has the higher score bonus, she gets to go first. These guys are admittedly pushovers, but I'll be shifting others in as we get to them. @Darksider42: That's a hit, and I'm guessing you're using your Phase Touch power? The 4 baddies are all in a line, which one do you go for? In any case, rolling Toughness for one: 5 Since he's a Minion, that's the first one down. The other three starts shooting, 2 aiming at Spectre, one at Knight of Earth: 14 13 13 Surprising no one, they all miss! Now, its @Wyverntamer's turn: Tell me what power you use here, make any necessary rolls if you attack, and write an IC post about what you do, then, as the GM, I'll write what happens after rolling any saves, but feel free to be as descriptive as you otherwise want to be. 18 - Spectre - 1HP - Unharmed 18 - Goons x4 - 3x Unharmed, 1x KO 8 - Knight of Earth - 4HP - Unharmed
  24. GM Outside the church, Madame Blitz looked up at Specimen and Forever Boy. She touched her shoulder, looked at the blood, then wiped it off her pants. She slowly stood up to her full height, electricity crackling around her body while she shook off the shock and pain. <"I do not like killing children. But for you, I will make an exception."> Donar just stood there. It was obvious that he had no idea what Watchdog was up to, what this strange woman in the red helmet was doing as she dared to run at him. Grenades, the young girl's blasts, the jumping man, all that, he anticipated, it seemed. But not the woman in the red mask running at him, and then handcuffing them together. Nothing but rage remained on his face as Watchdog removed her helmet. "Untermensch!" He swung his hammer towards her, obviously wanting nothing but than to be rid of the woman.
  25. Madame Blitz shakes off her dazed condition, until she gets hits again. Watchdog is bound to Donar, as per chat, she gets inflicted with Entangled too, and gets a HP. Donar of course goes for Watchdog. Swinging his hammer for an attack: 18 And that's a hit. @Avenger Assembled: Give me a DC27 TOU save for Watchdog. @secondling: You're up 29 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed - Obscure East of Church: 19 rounds remaining24 - Specimen - 2HP - Unharmed23 - Die Walküre - Bruise (x1) - On frontlines, near Forever Boy and Specimen.
