    CHEVAL Marcus paused at Persephone's words as she placed the hand on his chest. He could only feel the slightest hint of the touch. She had met vampires, but they hadn't turned out like this when killed. Fine, he only knew vampires from movies, anyway, but she was right, he had perhaps been too quick to judge. "No, I do not believe he would have done something like this. Not to people, at least, but..." he gestured with his right hand towards the bat-like men, "against something that might be monsters? I don't know. I don't believe he killed the ones in the car, but the one with the bolt could have been him. But, I trust you, and your judgement, so I will wait with passing my own until we figure out what's going on." It was the best he could do right now, at least. Stepping up first, he moved with purpose. Not too fast or too slow. The whole situation was already throwing him off, so he let Persephone guide them. The hallway was a mess. It was disgusting, to put it mildly. Flesh, bones, blood, everywhere. And sounds from the bedroom. Moving to the door, he placed a hand on it the door itself, deciding not to touch the bloody doorknob. Once Persephone nodded at him, he spoke up. "I'm opening the door and coming inside now." Let them know that Persephone wasn't alone. Then, he slowly pushed the door open and got ready to step inside.

    GM The woman paused her quivering, moving further away from Ms. Bright. She didn't trust to stay too close, it seemed. "You haven't heard of him?" she scoffed, the hint of a laugh in her voice. "Just more proof that you are nothing but scum!" The haughty tone was returning, like she was already forgetting the beating that Agnes had been in the process of giving her. Her lips, visible through her torn mask, twisted into a wicked smile. "He is the source of all real power! The one that gives all real heroes their power! Oh, they might come up with stories for the public, but he is the true source of all power! A true agent of the lord! Of course he wouldn't waste any power on scum like you!"

    CHEVAL Unusual was one word that could be used to describe the sight he had seen, but Marcus supposed Miss Brooks was more used to this kind of thing than him. "Perhaps, but if he is the only one it would be fit to tell, then I believe it is best that we keep it to ourselves for now." He had no issues with Corazon, but he was still a kid, as far as Marcus was concerned. There was no reason to burden him with with something like this. "I have your card, and if you find out anything, it should be easy to reach. I look forward to hearing from you, my friend." A little lie, perhaps. He didn't particularly want to learn more about what could murder a soul, but he had to, of course. Time to leave, then. He had other business to attend to, after all.

    CHEVAL Marcus kept steady. He had to keep steady. His eyes open, he glared at the sight that the spirits showed him, unholy symbols on the walls, pale guests in some old timey clothes, dancing to sinister music. Then it was gone, the sight the spirits granted him replaced by the carnage in front of him. A severed head, chopped off with an axe, from the looks of it. A chef, killed by a bolt through the body. It seemed familiar. He could only come to one conclusion. "The Woodsman killed these men." Of course, they didn't exactly look like men, did they? Bat-like features. Weird teeth. Maybe Persephone missed it, maybe not. As she stormed by, he grabbed her by the wrist. Not roughly, not hard. As gently as this form allowed. "I don't think these are men. The spirits showed me something, pale men and women dancing, wearing old clothes. And those bat-like features... do you believe in vampires?" He paused slightly, hesitating before he continued. Maybe she would take offense to his next words, but it didn't matter. He was not about to her go first. "I go first, cheri. If anything is lurking, I will stop it." Then he stormed up the staircase.

    CHEVAL The punching bag shook with each blow. For once, Marcus was alone. No events on the schedule for the evening. No adoring fans wanting autographs. No muggers or monsters to punch. No Francis going over his plans for the next big push, for the next way of making money off Marcus' fame. Just him, the punching bag and his thoughts. He circled it slowly, kept moving, delivering deliberate and powerful blows. His knuckles were stinging by now, but he kept going. Better than having to spend time thinking on his own. Too many thoughts. Like her. He punched the bag again, his knuckles stinging. It didn't work. His thoughts kept returning to her, to Persephone. She had made her attraction more than clear already. He could be dense, he knew that, but he wasn't that dense. So why didn't he act on it? Francis had made his thoughts on the matter more than clear. It'd be good for his image, a super power couple. What could be better? He punched again. The punching bag's chain rattled and creaked. Marcus felt like he should maybe discuss some things with Francis, but should he stop himself from seeing how things would work between himself and Persephone just because Francis' thoughts on the matter? No. That felt wrong too. His phone made a sound and vibrated. Stopping the swinging punching bag, Marcus breathed out, catching his breath before picking it up from the nearby table. A message from the Eros Unlimited app? Right, he had a profile there. He had honestly forgotten about it. That had been Francis' idea, too. "Let the world know you're just like them, looking for love." Marcus shook his head and brought up the message. He'd gotten some messages on the app so far. Not his type, too far away. Camellia. Wasn't that some kind of flower? He brought up her profile and read through it before replying. There was something familiar about the woman in the pictures. He couldn't quite place her, but he was sure he had seen her before. Vibora Bay resident, enjoyed rescuing puppies and kittens more than fighting villains, though she would do it. So what whould he do? He wasn't exactly a ladies man, and lately, everyone seemed that had hit on him had only been after his fame. And then, of course, there was Persephone. Marcus scratched the back of his head. He still wasn't sure what to do about Persephone, but it felt wrong to date someone else while figuring that out. He could at least let Camellia down politely. Still, there was something really familiar about those pictures. Marcus sent a message: Bonjour, Rapunzel. What kind of rescue were you hoping for? He frowned after sending it. He was not good with words, he knew that, but still, just shooting her down immediately felt wrong.

    Since everyone noticed the warning, its a Reflex 17 save to get out of the way of the ball, which will otherwise be a DC22 TOU save. If you want to try to stop the ball with an effect with an appropriate descriptor, then let me know for an opposed check, but it will be moving fast and it is heavy, so it won't be easy. Everyone should be able to clear around the corner to get out of the way, where, if they move to the side, the ball will pass them harmlessly. Description of that area, if you go there, coming in next GM post.

    GM With the group progressing ahead, Spectre noticed something where she had appeared. On the ground level, a pressure plate had sunk down under her. In fact, there were several of them scattered all around, being all but impossible to not step on. The edge of the round pressure plate under her foot lit up in the same spectacular neon as the arrows on the walls. They all noticed the rumbling, and the vibrations in the floor. Behind them, the dark wall right next to the entrance slowly slid to the left, revealing a giant silver ball. It easily took up the entire space of the corridor they were in, with only a little bit of room at the corners where the ball didn't reach, far less than the room any of them took up. The ball slowly pulled back, away from the group, with the sound of a spring being tightened. The hole they had exited the first room through was gone, having been covered up while the ball was revealed. In moments, it would be fired towards them. The heroes didn't exactly have long to react.

    GM "N-no! Get away!" The woman weakly tried to beat her wings at Agnes, but it was clear that the fight was all but out of her, especially as the next punch from Agnes sent her reeling, tumbling through the sky until she managed to flap her wings once more, stopping her fall. More of her red costume had been torn, revealing the porcelain white skin underneath. It was an unnatural color, even more white than the skin of an albino. It might have looked pure, flawless even, if he not from bruises and blood caused by Ms. Bright's repeated blows. "D-don't touch me." Her voice was quivering, the fear more than clear. "You're j-just like he said y-you would be! All scum, all violent! Evil!"

    Hit and crit! TOU save vs. DC27: 15 Fail by 12, Staggered and Dazed! The Winged Wonder is really not feeling combative right now, but the next action is up to you, of course! 17 - Ms. Bright - 2HP - Uninjured 3 - Winged Wonder - Bruise (x2), Staggered, Dazed (can act next round)

    GM Once inside the warehouse, it would at least seem like the duo were alone, aside from the five large containers scattered around the room. A red one in the North end, a blue one pressed up completely in the North-West corner, a yellow one in the very middle of the warehouse, with a green one a bit to the East of it, and finally, a dark grey one pressed up against the South wall. They were all rather large, the kind of shipping containers one would expect to see on trading ships. At a first glance, they all seemed closed.

    Justice Robin peeked out from the rooftop, looking down at the Emerald Spider on the side, and quickly shaking her head. "It's cool, I got it!" She just needed to turn on her electrostatic pads, divert some of the power from her suit to it, aaand... voila! Hands and feet on the roof, she stared slowly climbing down until she was at the same level as the Emerald Spider. Even if it wasn't showing through her helmet, Robin had a big goofy grin on her lips. "Kiiinda got the idea for this gadget for you? I hope that's alright?" She waited a moment, then climbed in. She seemed like she was more heavily armored than the Emerald Spider, so hopefully, she could get in the way of any hits if there were someone inside.

    CHEVAL She listened, at least. That was good. He had not had much contact with the supernatural community that seemed to exist in the world of heroes, but he had heard that some tended to be arrogant, so it was nice to have his preconceptions proven wrong. "I would not call the man's spirit drained, exactly. It had been murdered, and after it had left the man's body. It was simply hovering there, left for us to find." He sighed, and shook his head. He had to clear his thoughts of this. "Thank you, my friend. I'm happy that we agree that it needs looking into." He paused for a moment, looking at the other remaining heroes. "Do you think we should tell the others? I'm not so sure, at least not while I don't know what all of this means."

    Archer II "Only if you prefer coke." he replied to Spectre as he climbed up next to her. He stood up straight, pulling an arrow out from his quiver and placing it on his bow while he waited for Octoman to join them. Darkness in one direction, and a solid wall. More neon arrows pointing the other directions, down the bend. Seemed pretty obvious where the Pinball Wizard wanted them to go. Octoman and Spectre. Right, at least their names made sense. Octopus arms and teleporting ghost girl. "Yeah, I know him. The old man trained me." he finally replied to Octoman, while he looked ahead to Spectre. Leave it at that, no reason to share everything with people he had just met. "Anything I need to know about the two of you if we're gonna make it through this?" He followed, moving carefully, fully alert as he caught up with Spectre.

    CHEVAL Marcus' gaze hardened as he heard Persephone's exclamation. The fire was gone, no one responded to him. Not that he had expected a response in the first place. He scoffed and turned to face Persephone and the vehicle once more... and there was a trail of gore leading from the car to the house. From Persephone's reaction, he could only guess at the state of the persons inside the car. On one hand, he wanted to see it. Wanted to be prepared for the horror they would face inside. On the other, the atrocities that had taking place here was already making him angry. Not even violence for the sake of getting something, just violence for its own sake. Sadism. "Look." He pointed to the trail of gore that led to the house. The others had to see it too. They had to know about this. "Whatever they took from the people in the car, they took it into the house." He paused for a moment, looking at the others. He could guess what they would do, but he would not force anyone else to confront this horror, but Persephone already put it better than him. Looking down at the trail of gore with a look of disgust, he pulled his hand back. He would not be deterred by horror. "I'll go first. If you follow, stay close." He was Cheval. He was chosen by Ogoun. This was what he was supposed to fight. He would not let the horror stop him. Anyone inside would probably already had heard him, and even if they hadn't, he had no reason to be subtle. He put as much force as he could into the blow, doing his best to smash the door with a single punch.

    GM Dinostroyer groaned as Emerald Spider's quantum bolts went wide, mercifully missing the already battered villain. He shook his head, trying to regain his composure, then cursed as he looked up. Sunburn had changed direction, wildly laughing as she dove towards Dinostroyer, Kanunu and the Emerald Spider, manipulating a ball of fire in her hands. "Don't worry, Dino! You can take it!" For his part, Dinostroyer just shook his head and tried to cover his face when Sunburn threw the fireball. As it collided with the ground in between Kanunu and Dinostroyer, it exploded out into a dome, threatening to trap both her ally and the two heroes in the blast radius.

    Sunburn switches gears and throws a fireball that catches Kanunu, Dinostroyer and Emerald Spider in its burst area: @angrydurf, @Tiffany Korta: DC18 Reflex Save for the area, then DC23 TOU for the damage, or DC19 if you make the reflex save (depending on whether you got Evasion, of course) Dinostroyer Ref: 12 TOU vs. DC23: 22, and he gets another bruise Dinostroyer is dazed, so he can't act until his next turn. 35 - Technaux - 1HP - Uninjured 19 - Metamind - Bruise (x1), Entangled (-2 ATK/DEF, -4 Dex) 19 -- 10x Mind Controlled Civilians - 3 Uninjured, 3 entangled, 4 bound and helpless 18 - Shrike - 1HP - KO 16 - Emerald Spider - 0HP - Bruise (x1) 15 - Sunburn - Uninjured 11 - Dinostroyer - Bruise (x3) 4 - Kanunu - 1HP - Bruise (x2) @angrydurf you're up

    @EternalPhoenix: I've made the changes we discussed on discord @Fox: I've made some changes to the Mind Blowing Metal AP of the Magic Music Array, removing the Penetrating 8 extra for a bunch of power feats, so it now looks like this: AP: Blast 12 ("Mind Blowing Metal"; Extras: Alternate Save [Will], Feats: Accurate 3, Improved Critical 2, Indirect 3, Precise 2, Variable Descriptor 2 [Any Magical]) {40/48} (Psionic, Music, Any magical descriptor)
