  1. GM It seemed they had plenty of options of how to get in. Justice found a window with darkened glasses above on the roof. She couldn't see through it, but she could probably break through without too much trouble. It might have a mechanism for opening it, but it had to be from the inside, so nothing she could operate from her current position. The Emerald Spider could, of course, spot the door, if she wanted to use the front. Otherwise, there seemed to be windows situated around the building, at the first and third floor in height. Seemed to be normal glass, easy enough to break. One particular window on the third floor was open, letting air in. If Peri looked in, she would be able to spot several large containers scattered around the warehouse, not really utilizing the room in any meaningful way. They seemed like they were randomly placed, like something had dragged it in and let them go.
  2. Justice's Search: 1d20+8 = 28 IC coming with results.
  3. GM "What the hell?" Yeah. Bear-Knuckle was mad, Facsimile had that right. He was also even more pissed off than before, audible breathing hard and grunting as he tried to figure out what to do about the situation. He turned to the others, a look of absolutely fury and confusion on his face. "How the hell do you punch a #%&¤ing cloud?" Heavyweight climbed into the ring, while Fly-Boy buzzed around, both equally bewildered by this turn of events. TKO was the only one that didn't seem completely stunned by the turn of events, instead gesturing towards the kid at the computer, before turning back towards Facsimile. "Bad move, punk!" he shouted over the hero's storm. He spread his arms out to the side. "You wanna huff and puff? Be my guest! See how ya like a whole school blowing up 'cus of you! Is that what you want?" Of course, the Contenders had no reason to play fair. They wanted a win, nothing else. "What's it gonna be, hero? Gonna huff and puff and we take out the school, or turn back into something we can hit?"
  4. I'll be adding in some ideas for Mayombe and some other foes I've considered for Cheval. I'm considering running some things, but I'll need to finish up some other threads first.
  5. See IC. No actual fighting actions from the Contenders in this go around. Bluff from TKO: 28, but how you react is of course up to you. That's just to see if he's really gonna do it or not. Read spoiler below if you can beat that.
  6. There's something in the ultraviolet spectrum further up ahead in the cave, it looks sort of like burning particles flickering in the wind. It looks kind of weird, though, like it is somehow messing with Judy's vision. Its there, but also not quite there.
  7. The original has been completely deleted, so there's not really anything left to tell you what it was before, but it seems to be concentrated on parts where Nicole is in the video, or where she is together with Guy.
  8. Alright, no Hero Point then. I'll keep that in mind for the future.
  9. Justice "Yeah, don't worry about it. Can't have people knowing that Raya Wells got super hero connections, would just get more paparazi her way, right?" She smiled, despite the moment of awkwardness that she had created. She'd gotten praise much of her life, but it felt weird to have a hero like the Meta-Naut praising her. She was used to people praising the work she'd do in class or at the university, not her actual work, like this. So. Moving on. Push the weird feeling away for now, and over to the tools. She moved over and reached for some small blue pellets she had stashed in a small box on a table, next to a copy of the gun she had used earlier. "Well, I'm always working on new stuff, of course!" She was all smiles again, the awkward moment from before quickly forgotten. "That whole armor and weapons you saw before were pretty new, actually. I used to switch out whole armors for a bit, before figuring out I could make them modular, so I've been working on getting my entire armory up to speed! Like these!" She took out one of the blue pellets and held it up. "Saw the Shock Blasts I fired earlier? I'm working on some other kinds of ammo, something that can hopefully just stop people instead of hurting them." She looked a bit sheepish as she loaded the pellet into the gun, then took aim at a nearby mannequin. "I kinda forgot something like that in the excitement when I made the new armor." Pulling the trigger, she fired the pellet. The moment it hit the mannequin, it exploded, creating a thick layer of light blue foam that quickly hardened around it. "Got a few other ideas like that rattling around, but I'll figure it out!" She paused a bit, there was something else she could show the Meta-Naut. "So, how would you feel about going out into Z-Space?"
  10. GM Ben would be the first to notice that something was off. Tiny, metallic balls, like what you would see in a pinball machine, started rolling across the floor. Not in an excessive number. One or two here and there, but still, more than enough to seem out of place, and not just something that some kid randomly dropped. Besides, no children were running to try and pick up their lost toys. Connor heard the sounds of the balls being dropped, hitting the floor with a heavy metallic *TING* sound, barely audible over the noise of the food court. Even with the dwindling number of patrons, it was noisy, but still, he noticed. The sound came from around a corner that led to an escalator to the lower floor, making the balls' random trajectories all the more puzzling. Poor Max neither saw or heard anything, even as balls seemed to be rolling in the direction of the patrons of the food court, including the three young heroes.
  11. And Archer: 20 The Deafness do give a -5 Penalty, though not an outright fail, so have a HP for Octoman. At any rate, Octoman and Archer notices things, as per upcoming IC.
  12. Archer II The Claremont students were far from the only ones interested in the serial disapperances. Connor King sat in the food court at another table not far from the students, a large black sports bag at his feet under his table. He looked down at the soggy fast food burger in his hands. It was quite obvious that it wasn't his usual fare, but he still took a hesitant bite. Not too bad, but nothing he'd call good either. Putting the burger back on the paper wrapper, he reached for his water bottle and leaned back in his chair, looking around at the scene around him. He'd been in the mall for a few hours, and so far, nothing was happening. Just like the past week he had spent at this place. Of course, no one could know when or even if the kidnapper would strike, so he had to be ready. "Scope out the place, see what you can find out", the Old Man had said. Of course, it wasn't like he was the one sitting around here. He lowered the bottle of water and sighed again. What was the odds of something even happening today?
  13. @Grumblefloof, @Darksider42: Can I get some notice checks?
  14. GM Macedon gave Adam an approving nod, and pointed ahead. "Lead the way, then." Beyond the nod, he didn't give any indication if Adam was right or not, but he didn't try to stop him, either. As the group continued towards the shelter, the sandstorm was slowly growing closer. They started to feel the winds ripping at their clothing, loose sand starting to whirl around them, pushing them, threatening to topple them. The winds grew in strength, but thanks to Adam's navigation, they were able to find the shelter just as the sandstorm reached them. Or at least, where the shelter had been supposed to be. Instead, what they found were a giant dark mesa, towering into the sky. It was kind of amazing that they hadn't been able to see it from further away, that they only seemed to realize its size as they stood at its feet. They found no shelter, and yet, there was a cave. Macedon cursed under his breath. "You did good, kid," he said, directed at Adam. "Shelter was supposed to be here, but guess the mesa had other plans." There was a cave before them. It was dark inside, but it was shelter, at least. "Everyone inside. Stick close. Nobody go wanderin' off." He stood his ground and waited until all the students were inside before following into the darkness.
  15. GM The woman flapped her wings, struggling and just managing to avoid Ms. Bright's follow up blow. She was still rubbing her face, slowly moving her hand back to look at the blood on it. Under slightly torn mask, the woman's skin was pale, almost like pearl, though stained by the blood that flowed from previous blow. She seemed genuinely shocked, like she couldn't even understand that she had been hit in the first place. "You... I..." She had trouble finding words, her eyes flickering about, like she was trying to take in the entire scene around them at once.
  16. Yep, that'a a miss. The winged wonder has to shake off her daze, so you got another shot. 17 - Ms. Bright - 3HP - Uninjured 3 - Winged Wonder - Bruise (x1)
  17. Justice "I dunno. Didn't really seem like the kind of guy to do a whole lot of planning," Robin added. Still, Emerald Spider was right. It was never the best option to go through the front door, at least not if you didn't want to draw attention. Of course, that could be a plan in itself. But, ES wanted to do the stealth thing, and honestly, Robin was still just psyched to just be working with her hero, so probably no reason to present her own plan. "But sounds good to me. Maybe there's a window or some hatch on the roof or something like that." She readied her jump jets. It was a far jump, but she could probably make it. "I'll check the roof!"
  18. Can I get a Search check for finding other ways into the place?
  19. OOC for this. @Grumblefloof, @Darksider42
  20. @Darksider42, @Grumblefloof: Thread is up here
  21. GM Millennium Mall, Midtown, Freedom City 5:30 PM, November 15th, 2019 A rainy Friday afternoon, and Millennium Mall was packed as usual. There was a certain feeling in the air. Everyone was moving around in groups, even tighter than usual. Even through laughter and crying children, everyone hurried between the shops and stuck together, casting nervous glances about. During the last month, five people had gone missing, all disappearing within the vicinity of the mall during the evening. Everyone was hurrying to get home before it was too late. No one wanted to stick around, deals or not deals. That kidnappers had made no demands, and had not been seen. All that was found on the scene after a disappearance was a single silver ball, small enough to fit in a hand. And on this particular evening, several visitors to the mall would be finding similar balls all over the mall.
  22. Pan thought about it for a moment. He crossed his arms and his mouth twisted into a pout, as he looked up at the ceiling. "On Neverworld, this would be much easier. You would be the dashing prince off to rescue the fair maiden, Leroy would be the dark lord holding her captive on his secret island," he finally said, throwing his arms up in the air in frustration. "This world is too ambiguous at times. Right and wrong get all mixed up." He turned away, thinking. Yes, it would have been much simpler back home, the way stories were supposed to, not this whole tangle of the much too real Earth Prime. He cupped his chin with his hand as he started pacing around the room, his feet never touching the floor. "You say they are bad for each other, yes? Or at least bad for Judy. And yet, you cannot simply go and save her." He shook his head, then lit up with a smile. "I would not say they are practically married. Did you see the look on Ashley's face? She has hardly been approving of the relationship so far, and it seemed that Leroy's proposal took it too far for Judy's keeper." He nodded to himself, as if it were some great revelation. "But, so many of your movies, they show the heroine in a bad relationship, only to be saved by her true love as she learns that the first man was not for her." His expression changed, as he thought it over, going from revelation to shock. "Have your movies lied!?"
  23. That's a hit, and TOU save: 26 Fails by 7, so Dazed and another Bruise. 35 - Technaux - 1HP - Uninjured 19 - Metamind - Bruise (x1), Entangled (-2 ATK/DEF, -4 Dex) 19 -- 10x Mind Controlled Civilians - 3 Uninjured, 3 entangled, 4 bound and helpless 18 - Shrike - 1HP - KO 16 - Emerald Spider - 0HP - Bruise (x1) 15 - Sunburn - Uninjured 11 - Dinostroyer - Bruise (x2), Dazed 4 - Kanunu - 1HP - Bruise (x2) @angrydurf give me an IC, then @Exaccus is up
  24. Shooting a Strobe Light Arrow with the Increased Payload add-on into the middle of the group, meaning this effect with General Area added: AP: Paralyze 6 ("Strobe Light Arrow"; Feats: Improved Range 2; Extras: Alternate Save [Will], Range [Ranged]; Flaws: Sense-Dependent [Visual]) {14/14DP} (Light, Hypnotic Pattern) So, DC16 reflex save for area, then DC16 Will Save vs. Paralyze, or DC13 Will if they make the reflex save.
  25. Archer II Red bandanas. 'C' letter jackets. Those kids seemed dressed for the part they were playing, at least. Connor sat perched on a rooftop above, watching and waiting for the right moment. He wasn't a big fan of the Golden Calf Casino, but they weren't just stealing money from the rich, they were taking money from the employees, too. That made it Archer's business, at least. The kids he could probably handle, but the man with the big gun, now that was something else. It had torn through the armored truck with one blow, knocked it over, too. Not an easy feat. Some kind of weird energy, but it seemed big and bulky. The man operating it was an obvious first target. He kind of doubted the kids could even lift the thing. The big question was how the kids would react if he took out the big guy. Would they stick around and fight or would they scatter? Use an explosive and the cash would be ruined, too. No need for that. Fine then. Standing up straight, Connor picked and arrow and took aim, then let it fly into the middle of the group where it would explode into a brilliant lightshow.
