GM "Like hell I won't tell her! You screwed up and then ran away? Is that how I taught you?" Screwtop pushed back, seemingly more focused on the fact that his son stood before him, even if it wasn't quite in the flesh. "You slice through that thing and we drown! Is that what you want? Only way out is through those doors!" He pointed in the direction that Chromium had entered. "Or straight up, but unless your fancy look comes with wings, I can't see how that's gonna work!" He shook his head and growled. "Just like you to come storming in without a plan! I taught ya better than that!" There was a noise of boots, people running down the halls leading into the freight room. They wouldn't have long now.

To be honest, Marcus was a bit taken aback by Dragoneer's rather rapid explanations of everything. He nodded along, taking it all in and listening. It didn't really hurt, but he still rubbed his arm where Persephone hit him, shaking his head to defend himself. "Well, it is not exactly a secret, but no reason to draw more attention to him than I already do. It isn't always easy to have families super hero in the family, is that not right, D?" If that was what Dragoneer wanted to be called, then so be it. Still, such an odd name. He probably had his reasons for such a name, or his parents had, at least, but it seemed odd to him. D sounded more normal, at least. He resisted the temptatoin to cross his arms and instead just nodded to Niro's explanation. "Yes, there is more to it. For one, letting the people of this city know that there is someone out there to protect them, but I see no reason to force the matter. I've so far been able to continue my personal work in peace, at least." He clenched his free hand into a fist, and raised it in response to their other questions. "I must admit that I'm not as well educated as either Torque or Persephone. I never went to any fancy universities, but I admit that it is not for me. I'm a boxer by trade, taught by the best. Maybe you heard of Marcus Dumont, the Iron Horse? I wasn't quite as well known as the Ultimate Dragon Knight, of course, but most of the people of this city seems to have heard of me." He drifted off for a moment, thinking of what could have been. "I like helping people, it seemed only natural when to do so when I gained these powers. Besides, my debut was rather public, no one wanted to let the man that could turn into iron to get back into the ring."

CHEVAL Cheval chuckled slightly. Another member for the official team, then. Good! The more the merrier, after all! They all made good points, and well, deny it as she might, it seemed like Persephone was a natural speaker. She could put on some impressive speaches, at the very least, making sure to draw all of them in, or at least try to. It was impressive, but it seemed there was not much left to do at this meeting now, aside from signing the document. Miss Brooks' mention of "Occult Americans", a wording he had honestly not even considered until this moment, reminded him of something at least. "About those connections, I would like a word before you leave, Miss Brooks." His tone was serious and somber for a moment, as he looked at her, before turning to the rest of the group. Or at least, looking at Persephone, Torque and Speed Demon, as he stood up, putting his hands on the table and leaning over it. "I guess that settles things for now, but I have just one question left, at least for those that will decide to be municipal defenders. Unless the mayor has already decided on something, we will obviously need to decide on a team name, do we not?" His tone started serious, before rapidly switching to jovial and ending with a wide grin and a loud laugh. Of course it wasn't just theatrics or branding, as one might suspect of him. The people would need to know that they were there, and something as official as being a recognized team should at least help there.

Archer II Yelling in his head, everyone yelling up at the sky. She threatened kids, she tried picking all of them apart with words. Connor scoffed at the idea, even as she seemed to mostly let him go, only railing against the old man. Yeah, sure. His answer was a simple "Screw you". No need to start yelling at the sky. The others were taking good care of that already. Still, she did call the old man evil, and he wasn't about to let that stand. Not that he was in any position to do anything about it right now. Let the ones that actually could do something do the talking, and he would make sure to save an arrow for Heather for later. The fight was out of the kids, so that was something at least. No one had died, hell, they'd barely gotten hurt, aside from Roadkill, which Connor didn't terribly mind. If any of them deserved it, she was probably the one. Only Rayburst seemed like he hadn't defected, so that was a win, at least. He lowered his bow, though still holding on to both it and the arrow, and looked at Casey. "Think about your siblings, Casey. You think its a good idea to bring them back to someone that sounds as crazy as that? Only a matter of time before she decides that Louis betrayed her and gotta pay."

GM The chain held, even as the mast was knocked off. It had been heavy, but not that heavy, especially not as Torpedo Lass noticed that the mast was now just hanging in mid-air from the chain above. It was quite a peculiar sight, to tell the truth. A chain hanging out from nowhere in the sky, with the mast from a cruise ship attached to it, slowly drifting away. Quite surreal too, to tell the truth. At the sound of Torpedo Lass springing into action and deciding to just smash things, the cabin below became a flurry of activity. As she rubbed her head she could hear indistinct shouting and yelling, people moving about and then, when the hatch opened, she was met with the sight of at least ten people dressed as pirates, some looking like they might be crew, others like they might be, well, actual pirates. "GET 'ER!" a red haired woman with her hair in dreadlocks, an eyepatch and a sword in hand quickly took charge of the situation.

GM Macedon looked up from the map, away from Adam and Benny, and moved over to Ashley. He reached up to tilt his hat slightly, shielding his eyes better from the light of the sun, and stared ahead. "Maybe." He didn't look too please. "Entire area was s'posed to be clear. Figures the weather man was wrong." He shook his head. "Nice find, Miss Smith." Their ride was of course long gone, so now it was just them out here. Shaking his head again, he took some quick steps to get back to Adam and Benny again, while shouting for Ashley, Judy and Pan. "Everyone huddle up! You too, Pixie Boy." If anyone didn't feel like coming over, he would move to physically grab them and drag them close to go around the map. "Alright, change of plans. See this spot here?" He pointed down at the map, about halfway to the mesa that had been their original destination. "There's supposed to be a shelter there. That's our new goal for today, or however long this storm lasts. We move together, so no flying ahead, no running and getting tired when you're halfway there, but we march. No one wants to get caught in a storm like that." Standing up, he pointed North, in the direction they had been supposed to go the entire time, at least. "Mr. d'Amato, Mr. Lanchester: Lead the way."

GM Screwtop violently pulled his arm out of Chromium's hand. "Get your hand off me! I'm not going anywhere with the first guy that's not hitting me." Battered, bruised, he still had his spirit, it seemed. Despite the blaring alarms and the mess of activity and light, he stared at Chromium, looking over his features, trying to see if he recognized him. "Dammit, Jason. I ought to kick your ass for this entire mess, and now you show up loooking like this? What the hell happened to you?"

GM The winged woman shielded her eyes from the bright light that burned around Ms. Bright's body, quickly pushing back and away from Ms. Bright and hovering a bit away. "You dare! I am the instrument of the Lord, and you dare to challenge me!?" If she had been worked up before, she sounded absolutely livid now. There was no doubt in her voice. Of course she fully believed in herself. "You're a pretender! Even your light pales next to mine, and I will be more than happy to put you in your place!"

Archer readies an action to shoot a Net Arrow in case someone starts attacking the other heroes.

Archer II And just like that, they were giving up? To be fair, Connor had only really listened to Roadkill, and the rest of these kids might be more sane than her, but still... poke them a bit, and they they just stopped fighting? Not that he was complaining. Talk it out if you can, the old man had said. No need to put an arrow in anyone if they were gonna stand down anyway. So, alright. Follow the lead of the more experienced heroes, right? Learn what he can, and work from that. The goons were down, just the big guns left, and they were the ones to watch out for. Fine then, he wasn't about to try to ruin Hologram's or Grimalkin's talking, so instead, he'd just pick out a net arrow and get it ready, just in case.

Justice Not that they could really see much of that, when the people-sized purple portal opened up inside the AnneX, which didn't really have any windows. Not that Robin hadn't though about getting some windows set up, but the entire structure had king of been there already, and she'd just gotten to work actually putting things inside it. "Ta-daa! Welcome to the AnneX!" The portal opened up into an armory, where the Meta-naut would be able to recognize the hammer and blaster that Justice had used before, along with a sword with a black hilt and no guard. All three weapons were carefully placed on a weapon rack, with some different pieces of armor and equipment, including not just the armor that she had worn, but several other pieces of armor that seemed compatible with it. Her motorcycle was parked in the same room, with a pulled down gate on one end of the room, and a door leading further into the building on the other. "So, what do you think?" Truth to be told, she was a bit nervous. The only other person that'd ever been here was Shrike, and that had been a whole other weird thing, so she hadn't really had time to show off her place. "I've got beds and a kitchen, a library, my workshop and laboratory, and a bunch of other neat things."
-
GM Z-Space The AnneX August 20th 2019, 5 PM, Earth Prime Pacific Time Zone Z-Space was quiet, as it usually was. The sky and almost everything that could be seen were swirling patterns of randomly intermixing colors, each heralding its own universe or dimensions. Stray bits and pieces of known and unknown universes, giant rocks with strange architecture floating through the sea of color, everything appearing close enough to touch, no matter where you stood. Everything that had fallen between the cracks of its own reality or out of its own broken reality were here. High above, but still seeming so close, a giant derelict vessel drifted by, pushing by multiversal waves, buffetted between the emissions of energy released by cosmic destroyers and defenders of each individual universe. This was Z-Space. Chaos and peace at once. A window in to all the universes that were, could be and might be. And on a particularly large piece of rock, perhaps one quarter the size of Manhattan, in a structure that had been dubbed the AnneX by its occupant, a purple portal appeared to lead Justice and the Meta-Naut into Z-Space.

GM Professor Macedon looked over at Judy, then his eyes fell on Pan when they started singing. He opened his mouth like he was about to say something, then closed it again and grumbled something that sounded a lot like damn kids, before turning his attention back to Benny and Adam. He pointed down at the map, pointing out some smaller hills on the map, then raising his hand and pointing out into the desert. "You see those? That's the hills there. Should be good enough to help you with a heading." As it just so happened, Ashley could indeed see a mesa if she looked North, based on the directions that Macedon pointed out by the maps. It was a fair distance away, probably some hours march to get there before dark. Of course, she could see something else, too. A sand storm seemed to be moving in from the West, heading in their direction.

Forever Boy Pan glared in the old man's direction, but he felt silent, instead moving on closer to the Smith siblings, just to put some distance between them. No, he was quite sure that he did not like the old man at all, and he wasn't even allowed to fly! Honestly, how could everyone stand just walking around all the time? Sure, it was useful at times, he didn't mind, but look at all this! They would get where they needed to go so much faster if they just flew! Well, the ones here that could fly, at least. At Judy's singing, Pan let out a laugh and looked over towards the professor. "What a brilliant idea, Judy!" And then, he of course joined in on the singing. His voice, if not made for singing like Judy's, was at least suited for it, quickly falling in as he learned the words. If Macedon wanted some peace and quiet, then of course he wouldn't get it.

Justice Justice nodded to herself at the Meta-Naut's explanation. "Makes sense. Multiple different universes, different laws of physics. I kinda knew they were out there, but haven't been able to go there from Z-Space." Different worlds, though! Z-Space was just the place between worlds, and well, it had stuff, but not like what the Meta-Naut was explaining. It sounded cool, so of course she'd accept. "I'm in." She accepted the Meta-Naut's hand, then pulled her along towards the coffee place. "But coffee first, and then its off to Z-Space!" A sudden realization dawned on her. "Oh, right. Z-Space. That's what the place between dimensions is called. Its on the Z-Axis on the X- and Y-axis between dimensions, see?" Well, kind of, at least. It made sense anyway!

Justice Shock Blaster back in the portal in the armory, close the portal. No need to leave all that open for too long, right? And no reason to wave a blaster around. Robin paused for a moment when the Meta-Naut suggested she show the dimension-between-dimensions. That... was actually a pretty cool name to call it, though she'd been told it was called Z-Space, so why not stick with that, right? It wouldn't make sense to call her place the AnneX otherwise. She gave it a moments thought. She honestly didn't need anything in return to show off the AnneX and Z-Space, but travelling to another world did sound pretty awesome... Still, she'd feel bad about taking advantage of the Meta-Naut like that. "Y'know, I don't mind showing off a bit, its not like you have to take me somewhere in return." She couldn't suppress a grin. "Not that I'd say no, of course! So, you can travel to other worlds, huh? That's awesome! I'm a bit more limited like that, usually just hanging out here in Emerald or in Z-Space."

GM The man's arms was a mess of cuts, scrapes and bruises, making it difficult to make out anything. It seemed like he had some recognizable tattoos, but it was hard be sure. The moment the chair started moving behind one of the cars, the lights turned red and an alarm sounded. It was a blaring sound, loud, annoying, meant to draw attention. The man made several muffled noises before the man was cut loose, and he quickly reached up to pull away the hood, then pull the gag in his mouth, just a dirty piece of cloth. "What's the matter with you? I don't know not-!" The man paused, as he stared the man before him. He was bruised and battered, but one thing was sure: This was Screwtop alright.

CHEVAL Plans on plans. Unoffical heroes, offical heroes. What happened to just helping others? Organization was important, of course, but as with many things, Marcus was aware that it would be better left to people other than himself. "I can help you with all that." Cheval offered to Torque with a smile, before turning his attention back to the others. "I agree with Miss Brooks. While I feel that we should at least try to show some faith in the mayor, others might not be as trustworthy." He flashed another bright smile to the rest of the assembled. They kept bringing up options, but made no choices. "But at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I can provide whatever funding might be needed for a meeting place and discreet ways of getting in touch with each other, if necessary. If you would rather not, then no harm done." Perhaps it was time to end this meeting, or at least move it elsewhere, if that was how people felt. Still, he should make sure to talk to Miss Brooks before this was all over.

GM "Stay back...? What's going on?" Rita was clearly dazed, shaking her head, slowly standing up. "I know you... you're Salvo? Why are you here? Where's... Nicole?" She turned to guy's prone form on the floor and screamed, quickly backing away. "He got me! He's the one that did all this! He was in my head!" She pointed wildly at Guy as Salvo held him up, silver fluid dripping from his motionless body and onto the floor. One thing became clear to Salvo, as she held on to Guy. He was still breathing, still alive, even if he might prefer otherwise. As Salvo's systems raced through the building, connecting and commanding, it seemed she was in luck. The nanomachines might have shut down in the infected, but they appeared completely inearth, unlike the ones that had been in Guy's body, and, compared to guy, she could only detect trace amounts of nanomachines, even fewer than the number she had found in Rita. So far, it seemed that Guy would be the only human casualty of his machinations.
