  1. Raya is about as scary as a teddy bear, so Reb better step up for some interrogation. Gonna use Intimidation to try and get some answers from Ms. Demeanor. Skill mastery for a total of 25.
  2. GM Despite the Emerald Spider's own lack of faith in her hit, the tangled quantum hit home, square in Metamind's chest. With a "GAH!" he backed away, clutching his chest, obviously shaken by the hit, while he still tried to claw at the webbing that covered his eyes. Above, Sunburn was obviously not pleased by Technaux's sudden appearance. "Freakin' cockroaches scurryin' out from everywhere." Her sights set on a new target after disabling Shrike, she let go towards the newcomer, leaving a flaming trail in the sky behind her. Sending a fireball flying towards Technaux, she cursed once again as it went wide, far away from the new target. "That new guy ain't gonna help ya before I squish ya." Dinostroyer's voice was slow, as he stood straight despite Technaux's assault. He slammed his fists together once, before swinging a massive fist towards Kanunu's face. Not the most creative attack, sure, but Dinostroyer worked with what he had at hand.
  3. That's a hit, so DC25 TOU save for Meta-Mind: 19 Fail by more than 5, so Metamind is Bruised and Dazed. Sunburn goes for Technaux, flying closer and blasting him with fire: 14 Or heating the air around him, at least. Dinostroyer is still up close with Kanunu, so he's gonna keep hitting him, or trying to, at least: 27 I believe that's a hit, so a DC28 save for Kanunu. @angrydurf You're up 35 - Technaux - 1HP - Uninjured 19 - Metamind - Bruise (x1), Dazed, Blinded (vs DC20, +1 to recover next round, Flat-footed def -2) 19 -- 10x Mind Controlled Civilians - 3 Uninjured, 3 entangled, 4 bound and helpless 18 - Shrike - 1HP - KO 16 - Emerald Spider - 0HP - Bruise (x1) 15 - Sunburn - Uninjured 11 - Dinostroyer - Bruise (x1) 4 - Kanunu - 1HP - Bruise (x1)
  4. REBELLION Sturdy, yes. Ms. Demeanor was made from far sterner stuff than Captain Crime himself, it seemed. Not that he had any complaints about only having to fight one person right now, especially with the way they were raining blows down on her. One part of his training that he had decided not to abandon, at least: Stay in close, keep hitting until the enemy is down. Then determine what to do with them. It was brutal, perhaps more brutal than a hero should be, but what else could he do? He might have special abilities, but nothing like most others. Rebellion swung his baton in the direction of Ms. Demeanor again, but either she got lucky, or he got sloppy. He doubted the blow would land.
  5. So, how many bruises and other conditions do Ms. Demeanor have atm? Another baton smack: 12 Probably a miss, but DC25 TOU if it isn't.
  6. CHEVAL Marcus had wanted to take public transportation to the event. That, or jump through the city, but that would probably have ruined his clothes. In either case, his agent, Francis, had vetoed that. "If you're going to visit someone as famous as the Ultimate Dragon Knight, then you do it right, kid." So, despite his protests, Marcus had complied to the private car that was now dropping him off in front of the house, the driver gawking up at Persephone and her walking tree. Marcus chuckled and handed the man a generous tip before stepping out of the car. He was dressed in black pants with a nice pair of shoes, a red dress shirt in the same color red as his costume, and a black tie. He adjusted his cuff links as he approached the open door. "Bonswa, my friends. It is good to see you again, Persephone."
  7. REBELLION Seeing Miguel Cortez, normally someone dimwitted but somewhat strong, suddenly turn into a crocodile man was not what Elliot had expected when he and the rest of Omega Squad started their training exercise, put up against the vastly superior Gamma Squad. Miguel tore through them for a short while, before reverting to himself. He seemed burnt out, tired. Of course the ones still standing on Gamma Squad took the opportunity to respond in kind. Elliot had decided to stick to the sidelines the moment Miguel changed, even when Gamma Squad beat him down bad enough that he had to be sent to the nurse to be patched up. Miguel was an asshole that probably deserved what he had coming, but Elliot had helped him anyway, listening to him ranting and raving about those Power pills. In hindsight, other students had suddenly displayed bouts of strange new powers for brief periods, and at the nurse's office, it was confirmed that Miguel had somehow managed to smuggle some Power in, despite the school's crackdown. Impressive, in its own way. Of course, Elliot had to know more. As soon as he had the chance, he put on his mask, before Rebellion casually left the Elysium Academy. It was almost second nature by now. He prowled the city. Questioning, threatening, searching. Betlehem Heights was the place to be if you wanted Power, it seemed. Now, he was here. Moving across the rooftops of Betlehem Heights. There had to be a Power dealer somewhere here. Someone he could shake down for more information, at least. And then, a voice he recognized, from above. Friendly, happy, bright. Everything he wasn't. The Mighty Meta-Naut. "Meta-Naut." he responded, nodding at her once. Captain Crime had been something alright. Not his usual fare, but interesting. "Yes. Seeing a man turn into a crocodile didn't seem like something that should be happening regularly."
  8. REBELLION They ran. Good. Rebellion had no issue fighting them if given no choice, but they weren't really a part of this. Just victims. His batons already in his hands, he turned from the fleeing men and women to the Meta-Naut and Ms. Demeanor. It was interesting to see the Meta-Naut fight. All flash and spectacle, force fields and blue lights. Technology? Hard light projections? It wasn't his expertise. The Meta-Naut's blast hit home, and he approached, raising a baton and swinging it hard at Ms. Demeanor's head. No reason to be fancy. If anything, she was probably the one member of Captain Crime's crew that were working with him of her own free will, and if not... well, they had to stop them, didn't they? On the other hand, scared or not, it was probably just a matter of time before the large man got up again.
  9. Reb moves up close and goes for a baton smack on Ms. Demeanor: 1d20+10 = 27 I think that's a hit, so DC25 TOU save.
  10. add descriptors Justice - H.E.R.O. Mode Armor Power Level: 12 Effective Power Level: 12 Power Points: 182/182PP Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: Defense Trade-offs scale between -5DEF/+5TOU to +5DEF/-5TOU, see M.O.D. System power In Brief: Genius tokusatsu fangirl making her dreams come true. Catchphrase: "Power up! Activate H.E.R.O. mode! Henshin!" Theme: Light Up The Sky - Thousand Foot Krutch DESCRIPTION Justice's H.E.R.O. mode armor is a dark red undersuit with circuitry woven through it. She still wears the grey metal belt with the Justice Driver and her grandmother's amulet. Over the undersuit, the armor is golden with pulsing purple-pink energy lines running through it. She wears heavy golden armored boots that reach and cover her knees, a golden chest plate with a purple-pink energy core just above her abs. The chest plate connects to two-part golden shoulders with purple-pink energy lines. Heavy gold gauntlets channel Z-Space energy into her blows. Her helmet is dark red, with a purple-pink visor over her eyes, running down the sides of her face. A golden face plate covers her mouth, while she sports small golden antenna from her forehead, mirroring the ones from her normal armor. POWERS & TACTICS Putting on the H.E.R.O. mode armor means that Justice is done talking. It is time for action. Robin favors pure power over much subtlety, overpowering her foes through pure speed and power. She stays mobile using a combination of pure speed and teleportation, moves in close to break down her enemies' defenses, stun them with rapid fire punches or blow them away with powerful waves of Z-Space energy. POWER DESCRIPTIONS Robin posses no innate powers. All her abilities come from gymnastic skills or technology she created herself. After several different battle suit iterations and design philosophies, including her prototype suit and using a number of different armors for different situations, Robin has finally settled on a modular armor design, using her grandmother's amulet, now incorporated directly in the new and improved Justice Driver belt. The amulet is a large light purple, almost pink, round stone, normally hanging from a necklace. Unknown to Robin, her grandmother had used the amulet's ability to access Z-Space as the 70'es super hero Miss Step. Unaware of the amulet being magic, rather than just a great source of energy and a way to reach Z-Space, Robin continues to use it as her power source. The Heuristic Emergency Response Operator (H.E.R.O.) mode armor is a designed solely for combat, using both designs based on Robin's standard Justice armor, as well as brand new weapons that utilizes stored Z-Space energy in addition to the power inherent in her grandmother's amulet. The armor posses multiple combat subroutines that enhance Robin's abilities and reflexes while in combat. The H.E.R.O. mode armor's Modular Output Defense system (M.O.D.) is designed from the same principles as the standard Justice armor's M.O.D. system. Rather than using armor plating, the H.E.R.O. mode armor switches between dividing energy between rapid movement and powerful Z-Space energy powered force fields. The Multivariable Outrageous Virtous Extension system (M.O.V.E.) switches between charging the suit itself, allowing Robin to move at super speed, or to pour Z-Space energy directly into Robin's grandmother's amulet, allowing her to teleport across short distances while in combat. The Advanced Total Tactical Attack Control Kit system (A.T.T.A.C.K.) channels the Z-Space energy stored in the suit into Justice's gauntlets and boots for a number of powerful effects. At the most basic effect, Justice can combine the power with the speed of the suit to perform rapid fire Hero Srikes, or with teleportation to quickly strike every target in the area around her with a Tactical Teleport Strike. By focusing on her target's defenses and armor, Justice can throw a multitude of Armor Breaker Blows that let her slowly wear down her foes' defenses, opening them up for further attacks. By overwhelming her foe with a barrage of Lightning Speed Stun Strikes, Robin can temporarily stun them, even teleporting her blows to different locations around her target for surprise attacks. Finally, she can channel the Z-Space energy into a Rainbow Spiral Shockwave: Releasing spiralling waves of rainbow Z-Space energy around her, Robin weaves them around those that she wishes to keep safe, while knocking anyone caught in the shockwaves off their feet and away from her. COMPLICATIONS Family: Robin's family is generally unaware of her activities as Justice, but can all be used against her if a villain were to find out. Fangirl: Robin is a big fan of super heroes. Meeting a famous hero can give her pause, or at worst go into complete fangirl mode. Friend In Need: If given a situation where she can stop a villain or save someone, Robin will always try to save another person first, even if it might not be the smartest action. Modular Armor Problems: It can take time to change the amount of armoring, allowing Robin to shift between defense and speed. If the GM determines that a situation is too chaotic, they can prevent changes in PP allocation for the M.O.D. systems array, giving Robin 1 HP instead. Motormouth: Robin likes to talk. A lot. She can just keep going if she wants to, and doesn't always know when to not explain something. Secret Identity: Robin tries to keep her identity as Justice a secret. So far, only her grandmother Dottie knows. Superhero 101: For all her good intentions, Robin is rather new to the game, and a lot of her understanding of super heroics comes from movies and tv shows. Not all of this knowledge will necessarily translate to real life. 11. CHEVAL "Mesi ampil, Persephone." Marcus looked up from his food briefly to address her. At least one of these other heroes had recognized him, it seemed. It shouldn't matter much to him, he knew that, but he still felt a slight sting in his pride when the Woodsman had let them know that he hadn't recognized any of them. He raised his fork, pointing it at the Woodsman with a smile. "You need to lighten up, my friend. Keep your secrets if you must, but even if you don't recognize any of us, last night's battle should let you know what we are, at least." Heroes. He didn't feel the need to say the word, it seemed too grandiose for a gathering as informal as this. So, it would be him, Persephone and Torque for the official team that worked for the city. He could live with that, though part of him had hoped that more would join. Ms. Brooks and Persephone laid how they would organize themselves out without much fuzz, or much that he thought he needed to comment on. He was more than happy to take the place in the spotlight so others could work off stage, if it came to that. He was not a man of secrets, anyway, which only made him feel worse about not having told the others about the state of the man's spirit yet, but he knew little of what it meant, aside from it being beyond unnatural. Perhaps Ms. Brooks would know. He made a mental note to talk to her after their little meeting, then perhaps he could share it with the others later. If they didn't think he was crazy, at least. "It might be premature, but if we're trying to organize ourselves anyway, I'd be happy to provide what funding I can. A place to meet, burner phones or something else to stay in contact, paying for meals, whatever I can. Official defenders or not."
  12. GM Professor Macedon eyed Pan for his outburst. "Quiet down, kid. Try to enjoy the silence a bit." His gaze wandered to Ashley and Judy, but he didn't say anything as he looked at the two girls, though he frowned as his eyes moved over Judy, and he muttered something under his breath. He turned to Adam and Benny, and waved them closer. "Alright, since the two of you seem to be the smart ones here, gather up and have a look. We'll start off with the two of you in charge, then." He produced a small compass from around his neck and held it out towards Benny with one hand, while holding the map out to Adam with the other. Once they had accepted them, he would continue. "Compass. Map. It's simple. Use the compass to make sure we're headin' in the right direction, use the map to try and spot any landmarks to make sure we're on the right track. Work together, lead the way."[/color] The map had several hand drawn crosses showing their intended route amongst the landmarks and the road. Professor Macedon leaned closer, reaching in over Adam and pointing with finger on the first mark. "You two see this? Start off straight North, there's a Mesa a few miles from here that's our first stop." Putting both hands on his back, he stretched and stood up straight, before calling out to the rest of the group. "We got a headin'! The rest of ya brats, follow along, and no flying!"
  13. GM The blow was more than enough, even as Chromium moved around to catch the falling guard. It seemed that even someone that at least appeared to be highly trained couldn't stand for a sneak attack with a fist of chrome. With Chromium moving around to catch him, there were little noise made as the man dropped to the floor, but on the other hand, he now found himself holding the man in his arms. Knocked out, sure, but the question was for how long? And where he would he stash him? Aside from the anchor room that Chromium had just left, there were little in the way of places to hide him, and judging from what he had learned at AEGIS, someone was bound to show up at some point. The man groaned as Chromium held him. Lucky blow or not, it was a question of when he would wake up.
  14. That's a hit, and TOU roll vs. Damage: 7 And since he's a minion, that's a KO.
  15. Forever Boy - Dorm Roof Pan just chuckled at Davyd's changed form, then moved closer, flittering around him and inspecting him. "Your control is improving, yes?" he asked, clearly interested in this new, monstrous form. "I did not think you could switch between forms this quickly, or with this much detail." It was fascinating, really. Clearly, Davyd lived up to his codename, but to Pan, he was simply exciting. Latching on to Claude's comment about the secret sex dungeon, Pan was quickly by his side, shaking his head. "No such thing, my friend, but a group of students did try to summon a host of succubi this past Halloween." He looked over at Micah, trying to keep him from falling out of the conversation. "I told you about this, right?" Then back to the new students, the wide grin still on his face. "I do not believe that it was approved by the headmistress, but I am sure that you can find some other magically inclined students to help you, if need be." What else could potentially shock him, then? "How about an attack by a Giant Krampus, then? Nearly trashed the school, but the students banded together to defeat it!"
  16. Init: 1d20+5 = 9 Well, we're just slow today! Feel free to have Meta-Naut acting before Reb, if it makes your posting easier
  17. The thread is up here.
  18. OOC for this. @Ari, @Shofet
  19. GM October 4th, 2019 10:30 PM Betlehem Heights A lot had changed on the streets of Emerald City. Things had changed since the events of late August, and something had slipped into the city during the confusion. During the month of September, something new had started spreading through the city. A new drug, something simply called Power. Small white pills with a capital P. Swallow, and two minutes later, you gained random super powers for fifteen minutes. It was a rush, it was exciting, and it was of course completely destabilizing. Street fights evolved into super powered brawls. People fell from the sky, the rush running through their heads. And sometimes, the sheer power simply burned them out, like a candle that burned too bright. At the docks, Magh'kee witnessed a fellow worker swallow a pill, then, with his brief surge of super strength, he did the work of ten men, before the heavy blocks he was carrying fell on him, crushing him. At Compass Rose International, Raya Wells saw a security guard shoot lightning from his eyes at a man that triggered the metal detector. Turned out he had a metal plate in his skull. At Elysium Academy, Elliot Elijah Elder saw other members of the Omega Squad suddenly showing all kinds of different powers that they never had before. To call it strange would be weird, and then one of them offered him some of the Power. The school shut it down as soon as it was discovered, but Elliot grew curious. However they got on the track, all three would eventually end up in Betlehem Heights. The only place to get Power.
  20. Cheval is always up for meeting a fellow hero! And his agent suggested to him that being seen together with Dragoneer might be good for his image!
  21. GM The blob that was once the mice started taking on shape, growing longer, growing limbs and fangs. A mess of flesh, fur and metal, its features ever shifting and changing, ever growing, it stalked after the Belios armor down the stairs. The beast was large, easily the same size as Belios, parts of it scraping along the staircase as it moved. And then, it stopped. Belios' systems surged through the network that connected the nanomachines, finding connections, moving faster and further, breaking down firewalls and everything along the way. And then, contact. Nicole's gambit had paid off. Now she was in control.
  22. Effects coming in the IC. 1HP for heroic action.
  23. GM "Hey, Moira, how's it going? Is it safe to look yet?" Joey, of course. Obviously, listening wasn't his strong suit. The Gorgon remained silent, despite Moira's taunts as she started speeding around the area. She was fast, yes, but even she couldn't scour the entire area that fast. The Gorgon moved around the area, between ruins and mists that she knew all too well, hiding behind anything and everything, and so far, she remained undetected. There was a TWANG! sound, and before Moira could react, an arrow came flying from the mists, somewhere to the left. The arrow hit its target, straight in Moira's left shoulder. She could feel a sting beyond the steel. There was something on the arrow.
  24. The gorgon attack from its hidden location, shooting an arrow at you: 27 Hit and critical, so +5 DC. The arrows are coated in Poison that works as Drain Constitution, so first of all, do a DC20 Fortitude Save vs. that, losing 1 Point of Constitution, to a maximum of 5 points drained. After that, with your maybe reduced Toughness, do a DC18 Toughness Save vs. Damage. As for Move Action, the Gorgon movs further into the mists, staying stealthy. Stealth check to beat if you want to try to find the gorgon again: 13 20 - Scion - 2HP - (pending saves) 19 - Gorgon - No damage, Stealth Mist - Partial concealment: Defender rolls: attacks miss on 17+, including the Gorgon's petrification stare
  25. CHEVAL Marcus had of course agreed to the meeting with the other heroes. It was, after all, the least he could do. They had fought the beast together, they had all worked to save the people caught in the destruction of both storm and beast, and as far as he cared, that meant that he would answer, should they need him. While the others talked, Marcus had stocked up on plenty of food. He was a large man, and quite frankly, he was just hungry. Rice, bred, as much meat as he figured he could take without taking too much. He slowly chewed while Torque explained her powers, the Woodsman gave a rather short description of himself, Persephone told them perhaps too much, and Sagrado Corazon responded to the question on whether they would join the Mayor's idea to be official heroes or not. He ate with good manners, despite what others might expect of a man like him, carefully and slowly eating with the utensils. Gently wiping his mouth, Marcus placed the utensils on the table before he joined the tension. "First of all: To those that I didn't introduce myself to yesterday: I am Marcus Dumont, or Cheval. You might have heard of me." His tone was jovial, and he was smiling. Maybe he was imagining things, but to him, it seemed that some tensions were growing between those that wanted to support the Mayor's idea for municipial defenders, and those that did not. "I agree that working for the Mayor could cause problems, but I also believe that throwing the offer away completely would be a mistake. The city government can offer resources that could be used to keep the people of this city safe, after all. I do not believe that anyone should be forced to sign up or not, but at least some of us should agree, but I see no reason why we cannot all work together, organized or not. I have little to lose in terms of a secret identity, and I have already helped the Mayor before, so I'm willing to sign up." He made a small pause and raised his right hand in front of himself, clenching it into a fist while his lips split into a wide smile. "As for what I can do, it should be obvious: I can take a hit like no one else, which makes me perfect for protecting others, and if it comes to it, my punches are strong enough to rattle even the Beast we fought together."
