  2. GM A car driving around the docks, looking for a way to get aboard a ship? Not the most stealthy approach, as Chromium would come to learn. After all, not everything could be solved by a car, some times it would perhaps be better to approach a situation in a more human shape, even if that human shape seemed to be made of solid chrome. As he drove along, he started hearing shouts from all around him. "Stop!" "Don't move!" "Get out of that car!" It seemed that he had not gone unnoticed. Now positioned on the docks, overlooking the tanker, with the anchor rope in sight, he had been noticed, with at least five guards carrying rifles approaching.
  3. @Shofet Could I get you to post an overview of everyone's positions and current situations?
  4. There's your X! And for my sake, numbers according to initiative: And Pirate 2 gets hit: 24 Since he's a minion, that's a KO. Give me an IC, then I'll follow up with pirate actions. 21 - Pirate 1 - Unharmed 15 - Torpedo Lass - 2HP - Unharmed 14 - Pirate 2 - KO 14 - Pirate 3 - Unharmed 11 - Pirate 4 - Unharmed
  5. Give me a Search check, and, assuming that you try to stay unnoticed, despite being a car, give me a Stealth check.
  6. @Tiffany Korta Emerald Spider is still up
  7. GM The pirate fell and landed on the floor with a loud *THUD*, motionless before one of his four friends. They looked down at him for a moment, then up at the shouting Torpedo Lass, obviously not having expected something like this to happen. They were positioned around the large engines, with some distance between them, three members of the crew looking up at Torpedo Lass, equally confused about what was happening, but at least recognizing a rescue when they saw one. "Get 'er!" a pirate yelled, quickly raising his rather old looking flintlock pistol and taking a shot. The loud *BANG* sent a small bullet flying past Torpedo Lass, ricocheting off the wall behind her before harmlessly falling somewhere, while the other pirates lost all interest in the crew members, instead turning their attention fully to Torpedo Lass.
  8. There's three engineers working in the room, so keeping them out of trouble could end up being a priority! Pirate 1 goes for his flintlock and takes a shot! 11 And that's a miss! Torpedo Lass is up! Some positions, for what you can see: T=TL, P=Pirates, C=Crew, E=Engine Pirate just to the right of Torpedo Lass took the shot. 21 - Pirate 1 - Unharmed 15 - Torpedo Lass - 2HP - Unharmed 14 - Pirate 2 - Unharmed 14 - Pirate 3 - Unharmed 11 - Pirate 4 - Unharmed
  9. GM "I don't know man! C'mon, just let us go already!" Joey was crying by now, and both scrambled out the moment they had the chance, just staring after the car as it disappeared down the streets. As the car approached the docks, the black tanker came into view. It was still there, after all, but despite the time, the docks were far from empty. Security, dressed in vaguely military uniforms, but with little in the way of insignas or any other identifying marks. There were a lot of them, too. Some stationed aboard the ship. Some patrolling, moving around the docks. It was difficult to get an accurate count, but Chromium would have to decide how badly he wanted to get aboard that ship.
  10. That's cool. UFO's just gonna guest star for a while, but I'll keep up posting with it.
  11. CHEVAL Cheval had worked. He required no sleep, he required no rest. He had done as Persephone suggested and put his strength to good use, rescuing all that he could, or placing vehicles that had been thrown to the side by the beast right. Hopefully, some would still work, giving their owners some little relief, at least. It was hard work, and even if he did not sleep, the darkness in his endeavour grew on him. So many dead, so many that they could not save. The smiles of those they saved helped, but still... he had faced much already, but not random destruction like this. Of course he had to help? What else could he do? He gathered with the others around the body of the man that was, apparently, their enemy. He remained silent, even as the Woodsman searched him. An enemy? Perhaps, but there was something even more disturbing than the man's dead body here. His spirit lingered still, and yet, it was like nothing Cheval had ever seen. It was dead. He stood, silently watching past the man, to the spirits that would probably escape the eyes of the heroes present. Should he tell them, when he wasn't even sure what it meant? The killer had killed not just a man, but his spirit... Even for someone that was an enemy, even for someone that might have brought the beast alive, this seemed wrong. Ultimately, he decided to stay silent on the matter, at least until he could make sense of what he had seen. Marcus continued working through the night and morning, offering help, encouragement and a friendly smile to the victims and the other heroes both. While his thoughts might grow dark thinking of the killer, he kept up the facade. He had to. After all, he was Cheval! If the people of Vibora Bay could not look to him for hope and reassurance, then who could they look to?
  12. @Avenger Assembled If the man recently died, his spirit might still be there. Anything Cheval can see?
  13. That's a hit! And a since its 9 above the Def, that's a +4 to the TOU save. Rolling vs. TOU DC29: 14 OHKO! And he goes flying over the railing, alerting the pirates below. There's 4 pirates down there, and they get initiative: 14, 14, 21, 11 Hit me with an IC for your sneak attack, then I'll follow up with Pirate 1! 21 - Pirate 1 - Unharmed 15 - Torpedo Lass - 2HP - Unharmed 14 - Pirate 2 - Unharmed 14 - Pirate 3 - Unharmed 11 - Pirate 4 - Unharmed

  15. Forever Boy "Oh, just flying here, there, and everywhere. Still no way home, but been out exploring. And I got one of these! I have been told they are useful!" Pan held up his smart phone, a black thing with a rather large screen, wiggling it a bit. "Everyone seems to have one, do they not?" Slipping the phone back into his pants, he quickly leaned to the side and waved to Davyd's family when Micah mentioned them. "Davyd is awesome! The best sharktopus I have seen so far!" he shouted out to them, before flickering over by Micah, throwing an arm around him again. "Lead the way, my friend! It is always great to hear you play!" It was true, of course, but even then, Pan felt that Micah could use that confidence right now, so why not pour it on just a bit thicker than usual?
  16. GM Joey's friend looked ahead, then to Joey, who was empathically shaking his head. "C'mon man... This guy's a psycho!" It wasn't long before Joey gave in. The entire experience seemed to more than enough to shake him, after all. "Alright, alright!" It was Joey speaking up this time. "I heard some guys saying they saw Screwtop getting taken off the street right here in Greely. Some place down by the docks. They say some black car just drove up and he was pulled into it, then it drove off!" Joey's friend was hanging out of the window by now, doing his best not to see his lunch again, but he tried to nod in agreement. "Down to the docks. Billy said he saw it drive to some big, black tanker. All we know, man! Honest!"
  17. CHEVAL Following Betsy closer to the markings, Cheval nonetheless kept his distance. He knew a little about magic, yes. Only what Ogoun had passed on to him, or the Voodou lore that Nana Dee had taught him, but it had at least been enough to recognize some of these symbols. He stroked his metal beard the woman spoke of holy sites and powers and links. It was a bit beyond him, if he was honest. He was used to just punching bad things, maybe speaking to spirits. Or punching them, if they were unruly. "I believe the beast was heading towards a nearby strip mall. The place is nearly abandoned, but there's a couple of churches there. Maybe they have symbols like these?" And if someone had done this, then perhaps, they were heading there now.
  18. Can Cheval spot any spirits down in the cave?
  19. GM The door moved slowly, without a sound. It seemed that the crew had at least managed to keep the hinges lubricated. Couldn't go around opening creaking doors with passengers paying handsomely for the trip, after all. It seemed that no one noticed the open door, at least for now. At the other side of the heavy door, Torpedo Lass would spot railing, with a hole for a small set of stairs that led further down, into the engine room itself. While it was difficult to see what was below from her current position, the engines themselves were massive, and the noise was almost deafening. A single pirate stood leaned against the railing, looking down at whatever was down below. He had a flintlock pistol in his hand, lazily held in his hand that rested on the railing. He had a cutlass hanging from his belt by his side. Dressed much like the other pirates, he at least didn't seem to have any missing hands or feets, or any other major marks. Obviously not having heard Torpedo Lass opening the door, he reached back with his free hand, absentmindedly scratching his bum, before calling out to the people below. "Why're we always the ones gettin' stuck in places like this, Jimmy? I wanna find a lass and have some fun!" The response was drowned out by the noise.
  20. GM Charlie looked over, looking a bit hesitant. "Uh, sure, I guess." He obviously wasn't getting just why Moira needed the shirt, but, reluctantly, he agreed, pulling it off and handing it over to Moira. With his chest now bare, he reached up to cover himself a bit with his arms, mostly to try and keep warm. "So, what now?" It was Val piping up, gesturing towards the light. "Go into the light? Y'know, I've heard some bad things about doing that."
  21. Heading to the engine room, I'll give the pirates two chances of finding you, however slight that chance might be: 7 24 So close! But still, undiscovered! Give me an IC, and feel free to describe your path to the engine room however you'd like, with you probably getting some close calls with pirates on the way.
  22. GM The markings weren't exactly difficult to find. The ship was so large that it had plenty of maps on the walls, even if some of them appeared to have been defaced, cut apart by the pirates, no doubt. No, the difficult part seemed to be in evading the pirates that seemed to be roaming all over the ship. As Torpedo Lass had expected, they were dressed much like the crew, but their weapons seemed real. Not just mere rubber swords and toy guns, but actual cutlasses and, strangely, what appeared to be actual flintlock pistols. It appeared to be both men and women, dressed in almost stereotypical pirate costumes, and yet, there were something slightly off about the costumes. Not things like modern pants or anything like that, but rather, where the crew's costumes seemed almost cartoonish, these seemed all too real. Some had peglegs, some eyepatches, others had hooks instead of hands, or were missing teeth or other body parts. Men and women both, they certainly stood out. As could be expected, the engine room were in the bowels of the ship. From her current position at the 7th floor, Torpedo Lass would have to reach the bottom to get to her current goal. According to the map she found, there were muster stations on all floors. One not too far from her current position, at the starboard side of the ship.
  23. Good plan! Give me another Stealth check for your ongoing attempts at staying unnoticed, and a Search check, which will mostly determine how fast you'll find your way to where you want to go.
  24. GM "Screwtop?" Joey's voice was shaking now. "Man, I don't know nothing 'bout Screwtop!" He was shaking in his seat, while his friend was fighting to try and get to the seatbelt, with little success. "Hey, hey! I heard something!" the other piped up, receiving a kick and a shout to shut up from Joey. "C'mon, slow down man! I'll tell you, promise! Just... Slow down! I think I'm gonna hurl!" The kid started making noises that support what he had said, while he scrambled at the window, trying to get it open. "C'mon! Slow down! You want him to puke all over this thing?" Joey shouted, reaching out to try and grab the wheel, even if he had no control at all.
  25. GM "Why should I tell you how all of this work?" Guy shook his head as he spoke, slowly crossing his arms. He seemed uncaring about Salvo jabbing him in the neck with her massive, armored finger, but he gave no indication on whether her line of questioning were right or not. There was something in the corner of his eye, a hint of fear, perhaps? Or maybe he was just impatient? "You are in no position to make demands, are you now? If I lead you to Rita, then you will surely try to rescue her. If you kill me here, then you will never know, will you now?" There was another pause. Unblinking, he stared up at the massive armor. "But, very well. Follow, but I am afraid that your armor won't fit in the elevator." He turned and started walking towards the elevator, mice parting around him, all watching Salvo's every move.
