  1. Forever Boy The young man shrugged, the smile of course remaining on his lips. It shifted and changed, but it was constantly there. A warm, happy smile. "And here I would have believed this to be a safe place. Honestly, who goes around disappearing people in a place like this?" There was a bit of edge to his voice now. Not a lot, not enough to cut, but a clear annoyance, as he shook his head. Still, he seemed more amused by the situation than anything. A bit excited, perhaps. "This is the first that I am hearing of people disappearing from here, so I suppose my presence is nothing but luck, at least for one of us." His entire body went stiff for a moment, as if he was listening to something, even if Jessica could not hear nothing. "Well, whatever it is, I believe we are about to have company." He shifted lightly, stepping close to Jessica, while still remaining grounded. He was turned in the direction of some nearby trees. "It does not sound friendly, but let us see, yes? Oh, and I do not believe I ever got a name. What should I call you, Miss Red?"
  2. Forever Boy The boy smiled, and gave a nod. "It is a lovely shade to be noticed by, at least." If he was offended by the lack of an answer, it didn't show. While she spoke, he pointed down and started descending, until he landed on the ground in front of the statue, the golden dust fading within moments. He took a moment before responding, seeming to think the question over for a moment, but still met the woman with a smile, if she followed him. "The color of a hero, then!" he exclaimed with the same excitement as before, while he placed his hands in the big front pocket of the hoodie. "How can I be of service, for this hero business?" The playful tone played through his voice as he asked with a smile.
  3. GM As the Porsche that was Chromium stopped at a red light, a group of youths approached. They were clearly marked as a youth gang, probably one of the many gangs that the Scarpias would be recruiting from. Five in total, a pair of them stopped in front of the car, the last three circling it. "Man, would ya look at this, Joey?" One of the guys in front, a youth with black hair and the beginnings of a moustache, leaned down, resting against the hood of the car. "This is a serious car here." Joey, whose pants were hanging just a bit too low, and was standing at the side, by the passenger sheet, pressed himself against the window. "Hey man, I think its one of those fancy new driverless cars." There was a short pause, then Joey spoke up again. "Let's steal it."
  4. Forever Boy Pan was moved in already. Ready to go and everything. It wasn't like he had anywhere else to live during the summer, aside from the trip to the Carribean, which had been quite exciting, so of course he was ready? Dressed in a pair of dark red shorts and a light green dress shirt with a loose white tie, he had been floating around outside, eagerly helping new students, pointing out directions, carrying things for those that needed help and shooting double finger guns back at the guy with the way too many arms as he passed him. Now that guy seemed like fun, he would have to find him again later. Now outside, he was flitting around, seeing what else he could to do help when he spotted Ashley and Judy sitting on a bench. "Judy! Ashley!" he called out from across the field, quickly flying over to join. "How was your summer? Did anything exciting happen? Any adventures?"
  5. Forever Boy The boy looked over, a smile already on his face. Holding up his right index finger for a brief moment, he then pointed at the statue. "This statue, for the most part. It is quite interesting, is it not?" His voice was light and playful, and yet with a somber undercurrent. There was something about him that seemed just a slightly bit off, like the way he spoke without contractions at all, and just the slightest hint of an accent that Jessica would not be able to place. "I read about the Centurion a short while ago. Such an interesting man. He had such brilliant adventures!" He spun in mid-air, swinging his arm around, glowing golden dust falling off him in the process. "So, I just had to visit!" He turned to the woman before him, making a quick bow, before turning his face up to get a proper look at her. "And you! What an interesting color you are! But! Red can mean many things! The color of the hero, or the color of blood! What does your red mean?"

  7. Reconsidered whether to have 2 Claremont PCs or not. If I get Lightning Bug as a Claremont student, I'll add him back in.

  9. GM September 3rd, 2019 9:30 PM Greely Point 'Screwtop' Igglioni had disappeared. A week ago, he had simply stopped returning home. The Scarpias were mum on what had happened when his wife tried to find out. No one were to share anything. Couldn't look weak, after all. Behind the scenes, they were fighting an uphill battle. Screwtop Igglioni might have been an Igglioni, but he was one of the Scarpias now. If nothing else, someone disappearing him off the street could not stand. Rumor was that he had last been seen at Greely Point. But of course, Screwtop had someone other than the Scarpias and his wife that might be interested in finding him. A certain young would-be AEGIS agent, and part time car. And Chromium would have heard of his disappeared father, at least.
  10. REBELLION There was a certain rush to using the Terror's power like that. Spread it out, just scare away the people that could have gotten in his way. Sure, it could go very wrong, but right now, he didn't care. Captain Crime needed to be stopped, right? He continued walking, looking briefly at Meta-Naut over his shoulder. He could only imagine her reaction to his action here. "Coming?" The path into the place was clear, so he continued walking at the same pace, never even stopping as everyone had fled around him. His plan was simple, really. Continue inside the building. Find Captain Crime. Stop him. Should be as simple as that. Of course it wouldn't be.

  12. GM September 5th, 2019 7:30 PM Riverside Park Riverside parks was silent in the growing darkness. The weather was nice and warm, the last of the rapidly fading summer quickly casting its light on Riverside Park. Despite the presence of the Sentry statue, the park was quiet and relatively empty for the time of year and day. Even now, with the hour growing late, there would usually be plenty of tourists and Freedom City natives alike in the park. Jessica Witchblood had heard rumors. There were reasons the park was empty. Something feeding on something in the park. It had happened slowly, and it would probably attract greater attention soon, but maybe there was something interesting there for her to do or see first? Of course, there was something else to get her attention first, wasn't there? A red haired young man clad in jeans and a green hoodie hovering before the face of the Sentry statue, arms crossed in front of his chest, one hand cupping his chin. Golden dust seemed to fall from him. He seemed deep in thought, like he was studying the statue intensely.
  13. Forever Boy All was dark inside the whale, when Pan woke up, groggily shaking his head. There were noises around him, everything seemed to be moving around. The whale was probably on the move. Why was it even here? It belonged on Neverworld, like Ahab... and him. He frowned as he stood up and raised his hand. Glowing Pixie Dust gathered around his hand, taking form into a glowing short sword that cast at least some illumination on the area around him. Unsurprisingly, the area around him was rather organic. Fleshy pink walls, but not quite what you'd expect the inside of an actual living creature to look like. Not that it was too surprising, given its home. All in all, a fleshy room, with some water next to him. Then he couldn't see further in the dim light. And there, lying next to him! Selena! Quickly kneeling besides her, he shook her. "Wake up. I think we are inside the whale." Ahab was nowhere to be seen.
  14. GM Ahab stared, wide-eyed as he was held in Gauss' grasp. "White? You believe that is all there is to the whale? Its color!?" He was almost frothing at the mouth at the thought. They were by the water now. As Gauss and Forever Boy questioned Ahab, they failed to notice something in the water. A shadow, moving forward with intent. "The whale's the Great Destroyer! Its killed men and women! Children! Whole cities! Only I can stop it! Only I can kill the beast!" Almost as if on cue, the shadow emerged from out of the water. It was monstrous. A whale-like creature, stark white, and yet not quite a whale. Its mouth was opened as it crashed onto the land, swallowing the group of three whole, before they had a chance to react. Everything was dark as the group was tossed and turned inside the beast, before it retreated back into the water, leaving only shocked people behind.
  15. GM Guy slowly turned, keeping his eyes on Nicole as she moved. He held his hands behind his back, making no effort to stop her. "I'm sure you have." As she lumbered out the door, he remained silent. The hallway, the path to the elevator to the ground floor, was absolutely filled with mice. Crawling all over the walls, the floor, the doors. They semed to move with intent, but what was the plan? At least they stopped when Nicole reached the door, spreading to show the path. Guy moved to the door. The circuits seemed to run all over his skin. He made one final remark. "You are free to leave, but, you are wrong. Rita lives. And perhaps she will even stay like that, if you decide to stay and play along."
  16. Initiative: 1d20+4 = 21 I'll burn a Hero Point to apply Ultimate Effort on the first Toughness Save, for a total result of 37, resulting in a bruise. Can't make that grapple, since I'm at the Break Strike in the array, but let's see how well it goes anyway: 1d20+27 = 46, close, at least! Finally, Toughness save for being thrown down: 1d20+16 = 29, another bruise, but Cheval is still standing! Also, ow! But at least the beast attacked him! Any chance for a HP for acting heroic by distracting it away from the others? ?
  17. The Royal Power Level: 10 (199/199PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: (Ranged) +1 ATK/-1DC, +2 Defense / -2 Toughness In Brief: Super villain saboteur and spy. Alternate Identity: Everett Eaton Elder (Secret) Birthplace: Emerald City Residence: Elder Mansion, Northern Shore, Emerald City Occupation: Rich investor / Super villain saboteur and spy Affiliations: The Chamber Family: Emma Emmelie Elder (Wife, Emerald City politician, nee Kessler), Elliot Elijah Elder (Son, enrolled at Elysium Academy, secretly the super hero Rebellion), Elaine Emma Elder (Daughter, College Student), Elaine Kessler (Sister-in-law, deceased). Description: Age: DoB: March 1974 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 6'3'' Weight: 190 lbs. Eyes: Blue / Green as the Royal Hair: Blonde / Black as the Royal Everett Eaton Elder is a tall, reasonably attractive man, with short blonde hair. He is clean shaven, with blue eyes. He is always dressed in only the finest brands, preferably whatever is in fashion at the moment. He speaks rather plainly and openly, with a clear Oregon accent. As the Royal, Everett changes his eye color to green and his hair to black. He morphs a black goatee and moustache, and changes his features, becoming more muscular and powerfully built, appearance wise at least. He tends to speak with a distinctively Spanish accent. He wears a light grey costume, with purple gloves and boots with yellow trim. He has a similarly purple area running over his shoulder and down the outside of his arms, also with yellow trim. He wears a cowl with yellow lenses, with only his mouth with moustache and goatee visible. He wears a classic purple royal lion from coats of arms as a symbol on his chest. He brings a small gun in dark grey, which he calls the Royal Blaster. History: Everett Eaton Elder was the heir to the Elder fortune and name in Emerald. He was very much a rich idiot with no dayjob, and no need for one. For reasons that only fate knows, a strange meteor crashed in his back yard when he was a teenager. When Everett discovered the meteor, he was bathed in a strange radiation that altered him, giving the power to alter his appearance at will. Though he at first used this power merely for pranks and other childish actions, he eventually used his powers for more malicious deeds, eventually graduating into full blown super villainy when he stole his suit and weapons from an aspiring inventor in Emerald City, killing the man in the process. He never even cared to learn the man's name. He continued as a villain, always operating outside Emerald City, doing anything he thought might alleviate his boredom. Over time, the Royal came to the attention of the Chamber, and he became one of their agents, primarily operating abroad, primarily as a spy and saboteur. He would eventually marry Emma Emmelie Kessler, an aspiring Emerald City politician firmly in the pocket of the Chamber. Emma needed the Elder wealth and name to further her political agenda and aim to become the mayor of Emerald City, and Everett wanted a heir that could become the next Royal. There were little love lost between the two, but they at least respected each other, though Everett did attempt, and fail, at starting an affair with Emma's sister Elaine. During their marriage, and as their children Elaine and Elliot was born, the Royal continued his schemes. He tried being a good father, but the children, and their lack of inherited powers. He grew even more distant to Elliot when his son discovered blood under his shirt after a mission. Elliot was but eight years old, but Everett didn't care. He threw himself into his work, even though he briefly protested when his son was enrolled in Elysium Academy. While Everett was horrified at the Chamber's choice to use the Terror to punish his wife, killing his sister-in-law and traumatizing his son in the process, the Royal quietly accepted the punishment, his attention soon diverted as he discovered his daughter Elaine had inherited something resembling his powers after all. The Royal continues working as the Chamber's agent outside Emerald City, as he starts his plans to groom his daughter into taking on his role. Personality & Motivation: Everett is motivated by boredom, above all else. Ever since he discovered his ability to change his appearance, he has used it for his own amusement, eventually putting it to work in adding to his family's wealth. He is a highly competent spy and saboteur, taking great pride in his work, even if he rarely bothers spending the time to learn the why of his missions. He has a preference for working outside Emerald City, to keep his business away from home. In the field, he is quick and methodical. There is no time for taking unnecessary or stupid risks, like exposing his cover for the expense of a joke. While he is not above killing, he generally prefers not to. While he respects his wife Emma to a certain degree, he is very much aware that their marriage is one of convenience: He wanted heirs, she wanted the prestige and money of the Elder name, and there is very little love between them. He had tried starting an affair with his wife's sister, but she rebuffed him. While he tried to be a loving father to his children at first, boredom eventually won out, and he has grown distant, especially with Elliot, the youngest, after he saw blood on his father's shirt after a mission. Discovering that his daughter Elaine had inherited his powers, Everett is currently planning to ease his boredom by training her as his partner. Powers & Tactics: The Royal covers his tracks, prefering to disguise himself to infiltrate and exfiltrate, preferably without being discovered. If discovered, he will usually rapidly teleport around an area to cause confusion of his whereabouts, using his Royal Blaster to take down any in his path. He can be a scarely competent fighter, owing to years of experience. He prefers to avoid larger brawls, instead fighting enemies one-on-one whenever possible. Power Descriptions: The Royal is able to change his appearance to any humanoid form, a mutation caused by exposure to a strange meteor in his back yard as a child. He can also use this ability to blend in perfectly with surroundings, hiding himself from any visual senses. He is an incredibly skilled individual, having amassed a wealth of skills and experience through his more than twenty years as a super villain. While these are his only natural abilities, he also uses technological enhancements to further his own skills: The Royal Blaster and the Royal Suit. Despite having the wealth to commission such items if necessary, the Royal stole them from an aspiring scientist in Emerald City, killing him in the process. The Royal Blaster shoots small pellets, roughly the size of a bullet. These can either deliver a potentially lethal or stunning electric charge. The Royal Suit affords him with an electromagnetic force field that protects him much damage, allows him to climb walls and slows his fall by applying bursts of electromagnetic energy. The lenses offers Infra- and Ultravision. Finally, its most important feature is what the Royal has dubbed the "Quick Escape". By folding dimensions, essentially skipping to another dimension briefly, the suit allows him to teleport between both short and long directions. Of course, the Royal knows, and cares, little about how the items actually works, as long as they work. 18. REBELLION Just One Voice --- This was it. The end of the road. Rebellion stared up at the sky. It was raining. He felt cold, but he doubted that had much to do with the rain or the wind. The wound in his side was probably the reason. He slowly turned to look down at the man that had stabbed him, dressed in one of the ridiculous outfits that the Chessmen still wore. Rebellion was surrounded by them, and all it had taken was one lucky shot. Then again, he always knew it was going to end this way. Only a matter of time. His luck had held out this long. For years, he had hounded the secret power that ruled Emerald City, and now, it was the end of the road. He had been so naïve when he first started out. Knew so little. Took him so long before he even learned what they called themselves. The Chamber had done everything in their power to mask their tracks. Didn't want anyone knowing what they could do. Didn't want anyone to know they were even there. Of course he had to rebel. Of course he had to be the one to stand up to them. The heroes of the city had called him crazy. Emerald City didn't have any local super villains for such a long time, after all. They had only started appearing after a number of heroes, Rebellion himself included, began making their home in the city. How could everything in the city then be controlled by them? They had called him crazy. Even if he was right, finding enough evidence to wake the sleeping giant that was the city would be impossible, if Rebellion was right about the reach of the Chamber. And they had probably been right, but maybe, just maybe, just one voice would be enough. Now he stood alone in the rain, facing down an army. A potentially fatal wound in his side. He had plans. He had things to do. He couldn't die just yet. He threws his baton. It smashed the helmet of the first Chessman, ricocheted off it and knocked out the next. As the nearest came running at him, Rebellion turned to face him. His eyes glowed. He let the Terror loose, and everyone in the alley screamed. He had contained the Terror spirit for years, now. Rebellion still didn't know why it had led him down this path in the first place, but despite sparing him in their first meeting, it had proven to be anything but an ally. They had fought so many times over the years. At first, the Chamber had kept using it as their secret enforcer. Nothing but a rabid dog. Then, as they became aware of Rebellion, they had begun targeting him and his allies. There had been losses. There had been pain. Years ago, Rebellion had finally won a decisive battle. He had taken the Terror spirit into himself, keeping it from possessing anyone else. Until this day. Now, it let loose, even as its power and essence faded. It wouldn't be able to survive long, now that it was no longer within Rebellion. That was fine. It just needed to complete one job. Every part of his body ached as Rebellion made his way across the Emerald Cities. This was it. He had survived much, but the ordeals of this night would be the end of him. He knew that. The city had changed so much these past many years. MarsTech had grown in power and prominence. The city looked like something out of one of the science fiction movies, from back when Rebellion was still a kid that cared about those things. Surveilance everywhere, for the good of the people. Right. To tighten the iron grip of the Chamber, more likely. At least the city had started to awaken. More and more believed in what he said. But then, he still needed that crucial evidence. Over the years, he had learned their identities. The Big Brain. The Steel Shogun. The Grandmaster. Koschei the Deathless. Max Mars. Somehow, even after so many years, they were all still there. There had been changes, but none of them had been willing to give up their power, save for the Steel Shogun, who had been succeeded by his daughter. Rebellion couldn't could suppress the smile as he remembered Tomiko from better times. A whirlwind romance, perhaps an act of rebellion against her father, perhaps she saw something in Rebellion that he did not see himself. Of course it couldn't last. But, Tomiko had done one last thing for him, on this very night. The final piece to the puzzle. Then she had run. She knew better than to stick around for what was coming. Rebellion wasn't sure just why she had done it, but he had his theories. Nothing he had time to muse on, anyway. Pushing the door to his hideout open, Rebellion grabbed his side. His lungs were starting to fill with blood now. He had lost so much blood just getting here, but it would be worth it. A final act of rebellion. The proximity alarms around the secret location went crazy. A quick look at the screens that rapidly switched between security cameras showed him why. Mafiya, Chessmen, Yakuza, F.O.E., Elysium graduates, MarsTech battlesuits. They were all coming to play. There was no way he could survive that. Even if he called for help. He placed the key into the slot on the computer. Old technology. Few things but his computer were compatible with it anymore. Made it more secure. He made a quick recording, then activated the program. To be honest, he wasn't sure how exactly it worked. Some kind of WonderTech, courtesy of Justice and the Meta-Naut. He was fine with that. He started the program, reached for his batons and stepped out into the night. The fear was not enough. Without the boost from the Terror spirit, their mental shields were too strong. The Big Brain knew how to handle Rebellion's terror by now. All he had were his batons, and his fading battle. The broadcast appeared on all screens across the city. He had grown to something of a mythic hero, fighting against the secret rulers of the city, even if few knew it to be true. Now, his final stand. The final punishment. Rebellion fought on. He was not going out alone. Chessmen and pawns fell around him, but it was only a matter of time before he would be overwhelmed. Drowning in a tide of clashing colors, he kept smiling, even as he finally disappeared under the furry of blows of armored men. They wanted his death public. As he had expected. He wouldn't live to see the results. But, as he drew his last breath, Rebellion trusted in hope. Across the city, the screens switched from the image of Rebellion being beaten to death, to instead showing him sitting before them. He was breathing heavily. There was something wrong with his lungs. His entire body was battered and torn. "You know who I am." The recording began. "I don't remember how long I've fought for you. I've stayed in the shadows, but you still know me. You have all heard the rumors of the secret rulers of the city. I have fought them, and now they're coming for me. I don't expect to survive this. They are bringing everything that they have, because, finally, I have them." He paused and held up a small cube. It projected the images of the aged Max Mars, a young man whose body had been taken over by the Big Brain, the masked visage of Koschei the Deathless, and the machine that was once the Grandmaster. He had left Tomiko out. "These are the Chamber. They've ruled your city for longer than most of you have been alive. They control everything that happens, everything you do. I have uploaded evidence of their crimes stretching back decades. It goes out to all of you. It goes out across the country. Don't let them erase this. Never let them win." He raised a fist to the sky. "Show them a true rebellion." The transmission cut out, returning to the broadcast. Rebellion's broken and battered body laid on the rooftop. Could it ever have ended any other way? But as the roar spread across Emerald City, as men and women took to the streets in pitch black masks, and as the Chamber finally fell at the hands of the rebellion, he proved one thing, at least: Just one voice was enough, to make sleeping giants wake up.
  19. Terror Night --- RUN! The single word pounded through Elliot's skull. Run! Get away. Be anywhere but here. Be somewhere else, anywhere else. He scrambled through the mansion, though his home. Almost falling as he heard the heavy steps behind him, echoing through the empty halls. How could this be happening? The mansion was supposed to have security. It was supposed to be safe! The safest place he knew! And now he was running from his life, rushing, crawling, stumbling, doing all he could to get away from the strange thing that had smashed through the beautiful stained glass that his mother had picked for small dining room. He had been alone with the staff, so of course Elliot had chosen that for his dinner. Then a huddled figure, covered in rags and clothes full of holes had crashed through the window. At first, Elliot had hesitated. The guard that had been standing behind him had approached the figure, a hand on his holster. Then it had stared at him, and Elliot had seen the large man, an experienced security guard, a former military man, piss his pants. Then he was blown clean across the room with a single blow. And Elliot saw the figure's glowing eyes, and he knew terror like never before. Elliot ran through the kitchen. He should have chosen another path, but maybe, just maybe, the staff could stop him. The two cooks panicked as much as him, quickly running, covering, doing everything they could to leave the Terror that followed Elliot alone. With heavy steps, the ragged figure simply continued through the room, singleminded in its pursuit. Up the stairs, around the corner. The thing was still behind him. Down to his sister's room, turn a sharp right into her room and out the window. Elliot's heart was beating through his chest as he climbed out on the roof, carefully moving along the roof. He had to have lost the thing following him by now. It moved slowly, took careful steps. He was running. There was no way it could catch up, right. He was starting to relax, taking several further steps along the rooftop. A few more, and he could reach an open window, slip inside. Then Elliot felt it. The creeping fear. The shiver running up his spine. The terror. He slowly turned. A thin, feminine hand grasped onto the edge of the window that Elliot had crawled through moments before. The hand was grey, sickly looking, and then the creature's face, or rather, its glowing white eyes in the darkness of its hood, appeared in the window. Elliot screamed. His feet slipped under him, he fell and slid down the tiles. He scraped his arms, his fingers bloody from trying to hold on, but Elliot didn't even notice the pain. And then he was falling. Instincts took over, honed from months of drill sergeants and villains-turned-teachers at Elysium Academy. He rolled hitting the ground, before crashing into a large pot that his mother had bought at some way too expensive shop. Grabbing his shoulder, Elliot looked up. The creature stood above him, illuminated in the light from the moon. Its eyes shone. It was mesmerizing. Elliot couldn't even move as it jumped, landing heavily in front of him. Standing to its full height, which was not even close to how tall Elliot had thought it would be, it slowly approached. It raised its right hand towards him. Elliot wanted to run. He wanted to scream. He couldn't more. Couldn't even blink. Could only watch as the thing, as the Terror before him approached. And then, it fell. Like all strength had suddenly left its body, the creature simply crumbled in front of Elliot. He blinked. He could move again. He could run. He could... He could not help but stare at the thing before him. He should run. He should get help, but the way the hood had pulled away, there was something about the hair, the face, even gray and burnt out as it seemed. And then the thing moved again, looking up. The white glow was there in the eyes, the fear striking Elliot again. It was aunt Elaine. Shrivelled, dying, but it was aunt Elaine. She muttered two words. Elliot couldn't hear them. There was something. Something was there. Something was all around him. Something was in. Something terrible. He didn't hear voices, he didn't hear anything. But he saw things. He saw so many things. Whatever it was, it had him in its grip. The images whirled for his eyes. A large head, a man of steel, a man with glasses in the shadows, someone in a nice suit, a masked man. All watching from above, watching their new creation. They spoke of purpose. It was to be a weapon, one to spread fear, one to punish. One to kill, to tighten their grip. The voices flowed together. Elliot couldn't make out who said what. The faces begun to blend. Was it a giant head, or a giant head of steel? Who wore the mask? What was happening. He heard more. He saw horror. The thing in him had killed. It had terrorized. It was a rabid dog, let out only when it served their purpose. They were everywhere. They were everything. The city stood at their whim. No one could do anything without their knowing. And their plans. Oh, the glimpses he caught. The terror thing was just the tip of the iceberg. They were in the shadows, in the darkness, in the light, in the open daylight. The thing in him knew nothing of their names. It didn't care. It hated them. It loved when they released it. It had killed his aunt on their command. It had killed so many on their command. Death. Fear. Terror. Screams. It all flashed before his eyes. Over and over. Elliot felt his control slipping. Felt the fear thing move his hands. Felt himself fading. And then it was gone. Elliot fell to his knees. Heart pounding. His clothes wet with sweat. His fingers bleeding as he clawed at the ground. His dead aunt before him. Images of terror and truth coursing through his mind. And Elliot Elijah Elder screamed to the sky.

  21. Rebellion Traumatized by the death of his aunt at the hands of the Terror, super villain in training Elliot Elijah Elder turns to the side of good and uses the powers and knowledge granted to him by his own survival to seek the truth of the conspiracy that secretly controls Emerald City. History Elliot Elijah Elder is the youngest of the prestigious Elder family, who have long made Emerald City their home. Born the second child of local politician Emma Emmelie and wealthy heir Everett Eaton Elder, he never found himself wanting for anything, except perhaps his parents' time and love. An intelligent young man, Elliot grew up alongside his older sister Elaine, named after their aunt, who would often spend more time with the children than their actual parents did. While Elliot's mother always seemed cold and distant, his father at least used to show him affection, at least until Elliot discovered blood under his shirt, after he had returned from one of his business trips. Soon after, the affection his father once had for Elliot began to fade, with both parents seeming to lavish all of their attention on Elliot's older sister. Rarely interacting with others besides his family, Elliot grew confident in his intelligence, growing into an arrogant young man. He was naturally gifted, rarely needed to study or work for anything, and thus stopped ever pushing himself. He didn't need to, he could do whatever he needed without needing to spend time on activities that bored him. He was rich, he was smart, he could have everything he wanted by pointing at it. After all, his parents didn't care, they just gave him what he wanted, aside from time. His aunt Elaine seemed to be his only positive adult influence for much of his childhood, but her attempts at helping Elliot grow into a better person were soon stiffled. To further her image and present Elliot as the All-American boy, he was forcibly enrolled in Elysium Academy, after having spent his time in more lax private schools or with private tutors. Forced to push himself, Elliot slowly, but surely, began down the path to become the Bronze Hornet, an identity forced upon him by a teacher that had taken an immediate dislike to the youth. Despite possessing no powers, Elliot's connections and intelligence soon catapulted him into various leadership positions, rising to the top student squads in the process. Seeing the power and reach a life as a villain could give him, Elliot started down a dark path. He strode with purpose and confidence through the halls of the academy, other, lesser students fearing his wrath. All according to his mother's plan. Emma sought to gain even more power than she already had as a politician, but her ambitions were squashed by the Chamber, the secret rulers of Emerald City, before they could even begin. While she had planned to use his son and daughter to further her agenda, members of the Chamber discovered her plot and determined a suitable punishment to force Emma back in line: The Terror was set loose upon the Elder Mansion. At the time, only staff and Elliot were present. The Terror hunted him through the mansion, killing any member of the staff that found themselves in its path. Finally, it reached Elliot. The Terror collapsed, leaving his aunt Elaine's shrivelled corpse behind. And then the Terror spirit possessed Elliot. He saw sights, he heard voices. He learned of the true power behind Emerald City. He learned how the Terror had been created, how it had been set upon his family. He learned so much, before it disappeared, leaving a traumatized Elliot behind. Elliot was changed by the events, in more ways than one. Knowing the truth, or at least part of it, he found a distaste for villainy and powers, but not for revenge. He found his prestige and privelege at Elysium Academy stripped way, being demoted to the Omega Squad, the so-called "Jobber Squad", good only for lackeys to buy time for more important crimes. His body was changing, growing stronger, faster, more resilient. When he wore a mask, he gained powers akin to that of the Terror. He formulated a plan. He would find the truth. He would expose the truth. All he needed was to keep up appearances, so no one would suspect him. And soon after, Rebellion was first seen prowling the streets of Emerald City for the truth. Costume and Appearance Elliot is a young man with a slightly muscular athletic build, owing to both good genes and regular exercise. He has short blonde hair and hazel eyes, and he is usually clean shaven. He is rather average looking appearance wise. He prefers lighter colors, such as white, light blue and the like, or wearing clothes in the Elysium Academy colors. As the Bronze Hornet, Elliot wears a dark grey uniform with heavy black boots and gloves, and a darker grey jacket with a large bronze colored hornet symbol on the back. He wears a black full face mask with a similar bronze colored horney symbol, with his eyes in its wings. He uses a pair of bronze colored batons. When he is acting as Rebellion, Elliot is completely black and apparently featureless, with only glowing white eyes visible. He does not appear to have a nose, mouth or ears, though at least the mouth can appear as a white line, if Elliot puts in the effort. He will wear whatever clothes is at hand when putting on a mask to transform, though his most used look is a pair of dark blue pants, a blue jacket and a blue cap. He wields a pair of dark grey batons. Powers Elliot's powers come from two sources, though he is only aware of one. He has inherited his father's ability to change his features, morphing his appearance, such as his Rebellion disguise or visually blending in with the area around him. As these abilities first appeared after Elliot's traumatic encounter with the Terror, he believes that all of his powers come from his exposure to the Terror's abilities. The power of the Terror has vastly improved Elliot's physical and mental abilities, making him much strong and tougher than he would normally have been. Due to a mental block caused by the trauma of facing the Terror, Elliot has locked several of his abilities away until he puts on a mask of some kind. Aside from only being able to access his morphic abilities this way, putting on a mask allows Elliot to access several psionic abilities. The most obvious is the abilitiy to mentally enhance how far he can leap, that he can cling to walls and psionically slow his falls, making a fall from almost any height safe. He becomes unable to feel fear, which can be both a boon and a bane, driving him to some reckless actions. Finally, he is able to project terror on those around him, causing them to fear him and run in fright, or even paralyze them with fear. Owing to his training at the Elysium Academy, Elliot is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, and skilled in the use of batons both in melee and thrown. He prefers using these weapons when forced into combat. Allies & Relations Emma Emmelie Elder: Elliot's mother is a politician in Emerald City. A rising star, she married into the Elder family in part due to the power of their name, and their fortune. Her marriage to Everett Elder seems to be one of convenience rather than one of any feelings of love. Firmly in the pocket of the Chamber, Emma's attempt at rebellion against the conspiracy led to the Terror killing her sister as punishment. Distant to Elliot, clearly favoring his older, more accomplished sister. Everett Eaton Elder: Elliot's father, the patriarch of the Elder family, and all the wealth of the family. Though he once tried to pursue an actually romantic relationship with Elliot's mother, he eventually relented to living a marriage of convenience. While he used to be warm and affectionate towards Elliot, he grew cold when Elliot discovered what could have revealed his true identity. While feigning being a rich idiot with no day job, Everett is in reality the super villain the Royal, an agent of the Chamber employed primarily in remote locations. Elaine Emma Elder: Elliot's older sister, a caring young woman attending college, with the aim of becoming a lawyer. The favored child, as she displayed powers like her father's from a young age, unlike Elliot. Everett has recently begun showing interest in training her as a successor. Elaine and Elliot has always had a close relationship, supporting each other, though they have fallen out of touch since Elliot began attending Elysium Academy. Elaine Kessler: Elliot's beloved aunt. Elaine lived at the Elder Mansion since Elliot's childhood, often taking care of her nephew and niece, showering them with the love that their absent parents did not. A supportive figure in Everett's life, she was killed by possession by the Terror as punishment for Emma's attempted rebellion against the Chamber. Timeline 2018 Fall September: Elliot enrolls in Elyisum Academy, quickly rising through the ranks. 2019 Winter February 15th: The Elder Mansion is attacked by the Terror, possessing his aunt Elaine. Elliot is left traumatized by the events. February 24th: Elliot discovers the events on February 15th granted him super human powers. Alternatively, pitch black skin and everything, and bright white eyes. How do you wear your hair, if applicable? Do you have facial hair? Short. Not a buzzcut, by any means, but short. Various minor scars and marks on my body, from training exercises at Elysium. Do you resemble anyone famous? Not that I know. Do you have a dominant hand? Right. What kind of clothing do you wear? Mostly expensive brands. A life of privilege and all that, even if I would rather not. Light colors. Do you wear makeup? None. What is your vocal range? Is your voice distinctive in some way? We have always lived in the Elder mansion. Do you feel loyal to your country of citizenship? Do you consider yourself patriotic? How do you feel about the government of your country? No. There is probably some conspiracy running that, too. How do you feel about the place you come from? Emerald City is a strange town, full of secrets and conspiracies. I am sure it is under the control of someone powerful and very evil. I will do all I can to expose them. Where is your home town? What was/is it like? Emerald City. Its a great place for the rich and powerful. Not so great for the people in other parts of town. Growing up, were most of the people you knew similar to you, or were you somehow a minority? How did that affect you? I grew up around the rich and powerful. So, just like my family, I guess. It made me rather arrogant towards those that had less than me. Is there something you've always been really good at or really bad at? How has that affected your life? Not really, which made me the unfavorite to both my parents. Were there any traumatic experiences in your early years (death of a family member, abandonment, orphaned at an early age)? No, aside from my parents favoring my sister, I've actually had it pretty good. Briefly describe a defining moment in your childhood and how it influenced your life. Dad came home from a trip, had brought a present for us as usual. When he handed it to me, I noticed that he was bleeding from under his shirt. He said it was a scratch and hid it, but since then, he always seemed to be more withdrawn around me. What stupid things did you do when you were younger? Do you have any mementos of your childhood? What are they, and why did you keep them? If you have none, why not? I have some books my father once gave me as a gift, about dinosaurs. Dunno why I kept them. Remembering when I wasn't second best, maybe? A stuffed plush bear that aunt Elaine got me when I was a little kid. It was my best friend, growing up. When did you decide to become a hero? Why? Did anyone influence you one way or another in the decision? When aunt Elaine was killed by the Terror, and it then turned to me. It didn't kill me, but showed me its creators, and why it killed my aunt. I got powers after that, and that made the choice for me. Is the reason you give people for becoming a hero different than your real reason? If so, why? I don't tell people why. Do you have any deep, dark secrets in the past that may come back to haunt you? I am a student at Elysium Academy, studying to become a super villain. I imagine many heroes would be reluctant to work with me, if they knew. Do you represent yourself as being different from who you really are? Why? Yes. I have to keep up the cover of not having changed at all. Who knows the punishment for being a secret hero at a villain school? If you do have these secrets, what do you fear would happen if the truth became known? How far would you go to protect those secrets? I won't kill for them, but I will go far. Do you have any sort of criminal record? If so, is it public knowledge? No. Family What are your biological parents' names? Emma Emmelie Elder, born Kessler, and Everett Eaton Elder. Were you raised by them? If not, please explain and describe who raised you. My parents were always busy, and she got all the attention. Now, I don't see them much. They seem almost embarassed at my standing at Elysium Academy. How do your parents view you now, or how would they? They probably still see me as second best to Elaine, or maybe as an embarassment. Do you have any siblings? If so how many and what are their names? Describe your relationship with them. Elaine is great. She's my older sister, and we've always been best friends, though I haven't seen her much since enrolling at Elysium. What was your birth order in the family? Second child. If so, please describe them and their history with you. The Terror killed aunt Elaine, gave me powers and knowledge. I want to stop it, and more importantly, stop its masters. If you have enemies, how do you think they might attempt to work against you in the future? I got enemies, alright. The question is, do they know about me? Have you ever received any awards or honours? No. What skill areas would you like most to improve in? Is there anything you can't do that you wish desperately you could? Lifestyle & Hobbies What is a normal day for you? How do you feel when something interrupts this routine? Spend the day pretending to be my old self at Elysium, be a good little villain student. Sneak out at night and try to figure out how to help the city. Not much I can do to change that, without revealing myself. Do you have any hobbies, or interests outside hero work? What are they, and where did you pick them up? I don't have time for that. What do you do for fun? I don't. Do you have a costume? What does it look like? Not really. Helps that I can change how I look, and my default form seems to be completely black, with only glowing white eyes visible. How do you normally dress when not in costume? Elysium Academy uniform. What do you wear to bed most nights? Boxers. Do you wear any special jewelry? What is it, and what does it look like? No. Do you have a special place where you keep your valuables? A secret spot in my room at Elysium. What's your preferred means of local travel? How about long distance? Car. But I tend to just jump around town when in costume. Miscellaneous Have you ever made a will, or tried to make arrangements for your death? What provisions did you make? No. If your features were to be destroyed beyond recognition, is there any other way of identifying your body? Not as far as I know. What would you like to be remembered for after your death? 25. CHEVAL It appeared that Persephone, Sagrado Corazon and Cheval were not the only heroes of Vibora Bay that had been drawn to the giant shadow. To the beast. He could feel it. That thing was why he was here. Smashing through the church. Summoning forth the dead. The honored dead, the ancestors. Yes. The mighty beast, towering above the ruins of the church, it was the enemy. The foul mouthed woman and Sagrado Corazon asked for plans. Persephone started searching the ruins for survivors. Good. She was the only one here that he knew what could do. Marcus was not much of a strategist, he knew that. Others here would probably be able to come up with better plans than him, but he could at least buy them time to figure something out! He pulled off his poncho and threw it to the side. If he were to do this right, he needed the attention of the enemy! "I am not a great thinker, but I will buy you time! Figure something out, while I draw its attention! We must keep it away from the city!" He strode forward in the pouring rain, walking with purpose towards the beast and its horde of the dead. He could not let this transgression stand. The beast had to be stopped before it reached Vibora Bay proper. The fallen church was bad enough, who even knew how many were still trapped inside? He slammed his fists together in front of him, calling out. "BEAST! I am Marcus Dumont! Cheval of Ogoun! And I! I am iron!" He started running, quickly building up speed as his skin shimmered, almost glowing as he started growing once more, the change coming over him. "I am covered with iron!" With a flash, the power of Ogoun entered his body, a mountain of a man of iron, steel and power leaping through the air, across the horde and towards the monster's right knee. Right arm pulled back, hand clenched into a fist he let a mighty punch fly! He would draw the beast's attention, the only way he knew how!
