  1. Pan nodded eagerly at Veronica's descriptions. Maybe not pirates? That was kind of a letdown, but alright, that was fine! They would manage! Adventure awaited! And unknown, potential hazards, too? Brilliant! "Davyd, how about your abilities? Could you shift into a larger shark or jellyfish to scare them away, if they should come?" Of course, they could probably wrangle any critters they met. Between them, the little group had some quite formidable and varied abilities, after all. He grinned over at Lulu and her question. "As long as you can keep air in your lungs, it is not too bad. Almost like flying, just a bit heavier."
  2. You manage to narrow it down to an area of a potential 20 commits. The problem is, that they all have very sparse documentation, with things generally being along the lines of "Bug fixed", "Made some changes", "Tried something for zombie rat problem." The bumps will be getting much louder, and closer, as per my IC once you've made yours.
  3. Alright, Nicole should be clearly hearing those bumps, and that they're slowly rising in volume. Whatever it is, it is getting closer, but Rita doesn't seem to notice. You can keep going, rolling Search and Notice again for trying to find that one commit. Or, you can take whatever other actions you want to.
  4. GM Rita had not exactly been idle, while Nicole had spent time reading. She had been scrolling through something on her phone, though what, Nicole could not quite see. When Nicole announced that she was done, Rita looked up from her phone, locked and pocketed it. *bump* She mustered a tired smile at Nicole, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, that's the big issue with a lot of smart people. They just want to do the cool things, they don't want to spend all their times writing about what they've done." She moved over, closer to where Nicole was, and leaned over her. "Here, now that you got an overview... I'm guessing that whatever made the change is somewhere in these commits." She pointed out a helpful *bump* number of commits, reducing the number quite a bit, to just somewhere around 200 possibilities. Still a lot to look through, but nothing compared to *bump* what it had been before. There was a bit of a challenge in her eyes, as she sent Nicole a grin. "So, do you think you can find the needle in a slightly smaller haystack?" *bump*
  5. GM The man smiled, teeth visible. One could almost imagine that he thought the sun reflected in his teeth. "No, I am not!" He was almost laughing now, placing his hands at his sides. "I am here to save you all, after all!" He put his hands out to the side, leaving himself very open for anything that anyone might try. "I do believe that we are trying to solve the same problem, young lady, but perhaps it would be best if you leave this to the professionals. Maybe you could tell me if someone goes missing, so I can investigate if that happens? Be my little helper?"
  6. GM "Grah!" While the man seemed intent on some form of communication, it didn't really sound like he could. The man moved, loud cracks being heard from his bones, as he bent out of the way of the quantum webbing, then let out a loud groan as Justice's kick connected to his side. The point where she had connected instantly grew razor sharp bones, which stabbed towards her armored boot. For his part, the man stumbled to the side, taking a step or two to regain his balance after Justice's blow.
  7. Justice Alright, fine. Robin was back in action, having shaken off that hit. Emerald Spider was moving around, drawing the bad guy's fire away from Robin. That was actually a pretty great idea, wasn't it? Keep him guessing, not knowing who to focus on, right? Emerald Spider probably had a better idea about fighting together with someone, so, follow her lead, right? Full power to the engine, then. Robin started running, coming up from behind the bone guy as he turned to try and hit the Emerald Spider. Robin span around, raising her right leg up. "He doesn't really sound like the talkative type, does he?" Alright, the engine was powered up, time for a full powered Justice Kick! Continuing her movement, she delivered the powered kick directly towards the bad guy's side.
  8. That's a miss! Justice moves in close and attacks with a Justice Kick: 1d20+6 = 21 That's a hit, and a DC25 TOU save for the bad guy. Enemy TOU: 20, a daze and a bruise. Unfortunately for Justice, the Enemy got Strike 4 with Aura, so Justice needs a TOU save vs DC19: 1d20+8 = 19, just made it. The enemy is dazed, so ES is up. 26 - Emerald Spider - 2HP - Unharmed 19 - Justice - 1HP - Bruise (x1) 14 - Enemy - Dazed, Bruise (X1)
  9. GM The man stood still, though the mask made it difficult to read his expression, while he slowly lowered his arms, though still holding his hands up. He was silent, at least at first, while looking around, his eyes darting between William, Truffles, Oz and Charlemagne. He was clearly outnumbered. Still, he took his time. "What do you want to know?" He turned his head slightly, looking at his two fallen comrades. Before Oz could say anything, Charlemagne interrupted. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?" He sounded pissed off, and who could blame him? The man only chuckled at Charlemagne.
  10. Eep! Robin had been completely absorbed in the roar of the crowd. This was so weird. Standing here, like this, without a mask or anything, it was just so weird, and then suddenly Meridian's hand was on her shoulder and she was still standing here with Max freaking Mars and it was just all so much! And now, her picture (thank god that she'd managed an at least half decent photograph for the badge) and name was up on the big screen and everyone knew her name, too. She very much had a deer in a headlights look going on at the moment, and Robin was very aware of that. Max Mars had some really good points, and of course he had it all planned out, even if it was far in the future. She could see at least a few problems, though. Even with the governor backing it, there would always be the issue of finding early adopters, and there were bound to be people resisting it, just because. She didn't really get a chance to reply before the entire stage vibrated, even if Max Mars didn't seem to notice. But... "Is... is the Devestoid moving?" No, no, this was impossible. That thing hadn't moved in decades. How was it suddenly moving now? It made no sense! And why now, right when Robin was standing here, up on stage, with Max Mars, and now it was moving?
  11. Forever Boy Pan frowned at the escape. Not really what he would have prefered to happen, but at least Ahab was away from this place. He flashed one of his wide grins to Selena, flying around the room past her. "Try to keep up!" There was a bit of a challenge to his voice as he continued, flying straight into the hole that Ahab had created. To be honest, Pan wasn't even aware that this place had a basement, but well, it seemed that he had something more to learn. And he would really like to ask Selena about those others books. Honestly, if he wasn't as unique as he had thought, and other people from his world were immortalized in books in this world as well... well, Pan wasn't quite sure what it meant, but it had to mean something. As he descended, he found the basement lit. A large open space, filled with various props from a number of promotions through the years. Ahead, he could hear the noise of Ahab smashing through walls in his bid to escape. He could catch up, of course, but he waited for Selena to follow. "Anything else exciting about Ahab in his book, then?"
  12. GM Ahab shielded himself, blocking the flying popcorn machine, but he stopped in his tracks, simply staring in the direction that he thought Gauss was. He was sort of right, too, only staring a few feet to the left of her. "I am in a book?" He seemed utterly shocked by the relevation, not entirely unlike one might expect. His tone was softer, though not by much. "... It has already ended badly, girl. But someone has to stop that whale, before it destroys everything." Raising his right hand above, he slammed it hard into the ground beneath, which quickly gave way, letting him drop into darkness of the cellar below.
  13. 3 week vacation starts Saturday, and for at least the 2 first weeks of that I'll be without computer, and busy travelling and doing things with the wife and kid anyway, so my posting will be somewhere between spotty and non-existent during that time.
  14. That's all up to you, but give me an IC for the searching of the first rolls, so I can get an IC in on the good notice, at least. Feel free to make up whatever techno babble you want. I probably wrote it wrong: I meant, you can spend another round of posts on continuing to search if you want to, but there'll be something else, as per my eventual IC, that you'll notice is happening, so whether Nicole feels like she has the time is another matter entirely.
  15. Alright then! The whole thing is obviously very advanced. Just being able to figure out what the different terms, both in terms of programming the nanobots, the technology used to create them, and how they relate to, and actually do work on the body, is not easy, but Nicole manages! Unfortunately, there's a lot of different versions and commits, and some of it is really not well documented at all. To see what each change could do, and what could have made each effect that stopped the change? It seems like its needle in a haystack level searching. You might get lucky, of course, if you want to try rolling Search and Notice again. With those bonuses, you do have a fair chance of making it. As for the second notice at 20, that'll come up in my IC.

  17. Time to roll! Give me rolls for the following: Computers, Knowledge [Physical Sciences], Knowledge [Technology], Search and 2 rolls for Notice.
  18. GM "Huh? I didn't hear anything." Rita seemed like she had been deep in thought. Whatever it was, Rita clearly hadn't heard it. The elevator continued up, further than the laboratory that Rita had previously shown Nicole. It stopped with a ding, leading out into a rather open area. There were work stations spread around, with offices placed in big cubes in seemingly random positions across the room. Rita led the way. She seemed uneasy about the whole situation, but still. "Remember, everything you see here is included in the NDA, alright? We can't risk any of it getting out." She turned to the right, then the left, then stopped in front of an office with Rita's name on the door and presented her keycard, opening the door. The office itself was rather spartan. Rita obviously spent more time in the laboratory than here. There were a bookcase with a number of books on subjects related to Rita's research, quite a few of them written by herself, a couple of chairs, and a desk with a computer and a printer. Rita went to the computer. "I'll bring up the files, and let's see what you can find. Could you get the door?" Once ready, she turned the screen around and placed the keyboard and mouse in front of Nicole. Now, the question was whether Nicole would notice anything out of the ordinary or not.
  19. Nice! TOU save: 26 Another bruise! Let me see an IC, then I'll follow up with Ahab and FB. 28 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 24 - Gauss - 3HP - Unharmed 20 - Captain Ahab - Bruise (x2), Visual obscure affected
  20. GM There was a final bump, then the mice all seemed to stop at the same time. They all sat back, or at least as well as they could, staring up at Nicole. They moved in perfect unity, perfectly synchronized. Rita seemed to shudder at the sight. "They... do that. Let's get out of here, alright?" She obviously didn't seem like she wanted to stay in the room longer than she had too. Once they were out in the hallway, she closed the door shut, and sighed heavily. "I'm really not supposed to show you things like that." She replied, showing a weak smile before starting walking. "But, let's go. I need all the backup I can get here, and having someone from the outside would be better than someone who had already decided, anyway." Rita started quickly leading the way back to the elevator, starting to ascend, to get to her office. *bump*
  21. It had been a long time since Pan had been out looking for treasure. To tell the truth, he did not care much for the treasure itself, but rather the adventure, and yet, there was something in him that seemed to wake up at that thought. He wasn't really showing it, or at least trying not to, but it was there. Happily accepting his chicken roti, he gave the waitress a "Thanks!", along with a wide grin, before diving into the food. It was interesting. Not something he had tried before, at least. As usual, he seemed to be almost inhaling the food, though he did pause and come up for air to ask Veronica a few more questions. "What kind of dangerous things might be aboard the ship, then? Ghosts? Pirates? Pirate ghosts?" If he sounded excited at the thought, then that was because he was.
  22. Forever Boy While Pan admired what Selena was trying to do, he was not entirely convinced that it was actually going to work. Ahab was a stubborn one, after all. Well, that was probably underselling it. At any rate, it did not seem to work, and Ahab came running for her instead. Pan could not let him get in too close with his friend. He had seen what those mechanical hands of Ahab could do to softer things. As Pixie Dust gathered in his hand, flaring to life in the form glowing, golden sword, Pan dove into the mists, flying straight at Ahab and swinging the blade. Even as the blade passed Ahab without connecting, he must at least have felt the presence, while Pan continued on, flying around the room to get speed for another dive.
  23. GM "That is mine!" Ahab did not sound deterred at all, despite having his weapon taken away. In fact, he reached behind his back, and pulled another harpoon out of thin air. "I do not know how you know of the Pequod, girl, but I know of no Nantucket! All I care for is the Whale! And if you stand by the Forever Boy, then you stand in my way!" With another mighty roar, Ahab threw the newly produced harpoon towards Gauss, or at least in the direction of her voice. The weapon flew fast, but went wide, finding itself stuck in the wall some seven feet to the right of Gauss. Then, he started moving, running towards her. He seemed to really want to get his harpoon back.
  24. Forever Boy flies by Ahab and strikes with the Forever Blade, then moves on using Move-By Action: 1d20+7 = 17 That's a miss. Gauss is up.
  25. Opposed intimidate: 31 Sorry, no luck! Ahab pulls out another harpoon and throws it at Gauss, with a 50% miss chance from total concealment: 20, that's a hit, and missing on 11-20: 18 So that's a miss! And he's moving towards Gauss through the mist. 28 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 24 - Gauss - 3HP - Unharmed 20 - Captain Ahab - Bruise (x1), Visual obscure affected
