  1. Resisted Strength check: 16 You got yourself a fancy new harpoon.
  2. GM Seeing the mighty Truffles that appeared from Oz's magic, the already humbled hunter just stopped in his tracks. It seemed that while he was prepared for one giant pig, a second one, much less a treasure vault pig like Truffles, was more than he could handle. Still trying to get his bearings after the last hit he had endured, he simply dropped his weapon and put his hands up, perhaps hoping that Oz would show him mercy. For his part, William appeared genuinely shocked when Truffles appeared, then gave a loud OINK! in greeting. Charlemagne had stopped in his tracks as well, his beard split in a wide grin.
  3. Forever Boy Pan's expression was rather deadpan in response to Gauss' short rant, while Ahab was standing up, looking more than ready to fight them still. "He is used to fight the Whale. Of course he is going to be tough. I am not sure how the Ahab of this world's books does it, but this Ahab has survived melee with a creature that can destroy entire cities on its own." Now, he was not lecturing, but to him, this was just common knowledge. Then again, just look at him and his book in this world, and all the differences and changes. Of course the Ahab that Gauss knew about were bound to be different. The short moment of being dour passed. Fine, one way or another, he would be taking the good captain's sight! "Want to make a bet on whether I can trick him again?" he quickly asked Selena, before flying over, away from her and across the room. At the same time, mist began to appear from the middle of the room, right under Ahab, filling it within moments, and yet, Selena and any stragglers that had yet to leave the room could see right through it. "Over here, Ahab! Find me if you can!"
  4. Forever Boy uses Hide & Seek to create a mist in the area, though only affecting Ahab and no one else, and flies to put some distance between him and Gauss while calling out. 28 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 24 - Gauss - 3HP - Unharmed 20 - Captain Ahab - Bruise (x1), Visual obscure affected Gauss is up.
  5. GM Ahab blinked, as if trying to clear his vision after the heavy hit from Gauss, and yet... with a mighty roar, he tore through the glowing bands of Pixie Dust that kept him snared, before climbing to his feet, standing tall. Even with both Gauss and Forever Boy keeping their distance, the man towered above them. He raised one gnarled hand, bits and pieces of metal visible through his glove. "You will not stop me from finding the Whale! I will save us all, even if you do not want to be saved!" He moved a hand to his back, pulling it forward to reveal a shining, silver harpoon, which seemed to have appeared out of thin air. "You tricked me once, Forever Boy! Never again!"
  6. Ahab fort save vs. Dazzle DC18: 21 No longer dazzled, Ahab attempts to break free. The Snare makes a Toughness Save vs. DC22: 16 Broken, and Ahab draws a harpoon.
  7. GM "My point exactly. This is bad enough, imagine if it happened to a human being." Rita had crossed her arms, having stayed back near the door while Nicole had approached the cage. She looked appropriately horrified at the grotesque mice that lay scattered inside the cage. "But it gets worse. Look." Rita raised her right hand, pointing at the glass cage. Most of the mice had started moving, dragging or pulling themselves towards Nicole. One reached the cage, and started slowly bumping against it, over and over. Rita shuddered, wrapping her arms around herself. "They're still alive. I can't even imagine the pain that they're in, but they're still alive. We've tried to put them down, but everything short of a cremation? The nanomachines just keep repairing them and bringing them back." She made a short pause again. "To play the devil's advocate for a moment, it has been a long time since we've had something like this happen. We've improved the nanomachines a lot, gone through several generations since this one, but the main issue is, we still don't know why this happened. I would've burned them all, but we need something to study to figure out what happened." More mice had reached the cage, all bumping against it over and over, trying to reach Nicole. "There's no way we can start on any higher life forms until we know just how to prevent this from happening."
  8. GM The man chuckled, shaking his head. "Then, you are in error. Once, I was one of you! But as I was saved, so I shall save you all!" The stern tone was still there, but there was something else to the man's voice. Around them, the people that had been leaving the shelter had stopped to stare at Ms. Bright and the large man. He might be towering over Agnes, but clearly, she was not intimidated in the slightest, and they had just seen her flying. Relaxing his hands, the man put his arms out to the side, showing Agnes the palms of his hands, as if to show her he did not meant to fight her. His tone seemed angry, now. "No, I have not. I am here to save you all, from the evil that stalks you! By blood and fist, if needed!"
  9. Alright, looks good. Let's see an IC for that!

  11. GM The strange man with the bones sticking out of his body didn't seem to speak, instead making a guttural sound that was mostly like a low growl, while he started moving, running towards the Emerald Spider. He twisted his body to the side, bending in ways that a human body shouldn't, to avoid the supersting webs, and in moments, he was on Emerald Spider. All the way up close, his mouth appeared even more monstrous, jagged, uneven fangs sticking in random directions, and he appeared to have no lips. With a howl, he swung his right arm in a wide arc towards the Emerald Spider, the uneven bone spikes across his arm being the most obvious danger.
  12. Justice Too fast! He was just too fast! The bony spikes that the man flung at the might have missed the Emerald Spider, but Robin weren't that lucky, or just not fast enough. While she managed to avoid the bigger ones, several smaller dug into her side, some even making it through her armor. She winced in pain under the helmet, which, thankfully, Emerald Spider couldn't see. This was just embarassing. She got to team up with one of her big heroes, and what happens? Bones sticking out of her side. She had to get through that pain.
  13. That's a miss. Justice is dazed, so no action there. Enemy: Move Action: Moves up close to Emerald Spider. Stanrdard Action: Swings a bone spiked arm at Emerald Spider: 21 That's a hit, so a DC25 TOU save, w. Penetrating 4. 26 - Emerald Spider - 2HP - Unharmed 19 - Justice - 1HP - Bruise (x1) 14 - Enemy - Unharmed And you're up.
  14. Now that set him off! Robin took a step back without really thinking about it, just out of shock from Jones' reaction. Yeesh, he was loud. And kind of scary, now that he was smashing things left and right. She pulled the Justice Buster up, holding it towards Jones in one hand, with the bomb in the other. "No, I don't think I'll do that." Piss him off, keep him unbalanced? Probably the best bet here. "If this thing goes off, it'll take you, me, this place, and everything around it out in one big explosion. I'm not gonna let that happen, pal." No reason to let him know that she'd disabled the bomb quite yet. "We gotta stop the bad guys, yeah, but what you wanna do is not any kind of justice!" So, Anna was behind Jones, huh? Maybe Justice should pay her a visit later. If she could make it out of here, at least.
  15. GM The cultist recoiled, her body starting to make a sizzling sound. While she tried to shield her face from the light and holy symbols, the ink that had been pouring from the books started to evaporate, eventually simply going up in a puff of very dark smoke. The same seemed to be happening to the cultists, both the overly large one and the one that had been able to pass through doors. For both, the effect was startling. The large on seemed to shed excess body mass, becoming much smaller, though still a large and muscular man. The other actually seemed to gain some mass. The last cultist still standing groaned as the black of her eyes seemed to disappear into smoke, while she fell trembling to her knees. It seemed clear that the fight had left her. "Who are you? How can you spit in the face of God?"
  16. U.F.O. 777 listened, comparing everything that was being told of the planet below them to its own archives. It had to make sure everything was up to date, as it should be. The universe was vast and ever changing, but that only meant there were more things to learn, after all. The Terrasi students seemed interested, at least, which was good. They were strange, not two of them alike, but that only made them more interesting. Now that Sitara was addressing the students again, and refering to 777's findings out there, it almost swelled with pride. Such a strange feeling. "Greetings. This unit is designated Universal Field Operative 777," it introduced itself, otherwise remaining as motionless as ever, aside from the display showing its eyes turning into a happy smile with closed eyes, rather than just two red eyes, before being replaced by just two red eyes focused on Nicole. "This unit has noted the occurence: It is commonly considered illegal for life forms that have yet to reach full maturity to participate in the ingestion of substances that alters brain chemistry. While this unit has seen different reasons on different worlds, the major reason seem to be avoiding irreversible damage during a life form's development."
  17. Pan had grown silent, as he listened to what was being said outside the van. "I kind of do." he mused, in a reply to Judy's statement about not wanting to meet this Wail character, but spoken as much to just himself as to the rest of the van. And to Collier, of course. Keep her on her toes, make her think that he was planning something. Which he just might be. He could clearly hear that Summers and LaMarr did not see eye to eye. And someone with weapons had been following them? And something about princes? Interesting. And why had no one told them about that part? He looked Collier over. Would it be worth the trouble to try to get past her? Or would he should just rely the information to the rest. "They are talking about someone with weapons having followed us, and something about them being here to protect a secret prince, or something along those lines, at least." He decided on just letting it linger for a moment. Were anyone here the secret prince, perhaps? Or princess, in this case? As far as he knew, he was not a prince, but who knew in this world?
  18. U.F.O. 777 followed, as fast as it could. It had been in few situations that required both speed and its stealth suite, and yet, this seemed to one of them. It was ineffective. Perhaps some upgrades to the power system would be in order. It had a hard time keeping up with the Spectrum Knights, struggling as it watched them disappear. What was this feeling? Disappointment? Embarassment? It was not quite sure. It was sure that it did not want to let down the Praetorians, at least, and so, it followed. The area where the Spectrum Knights had disappeared to was slightly different than where 777 had been before. Hills and cliff sides, rather than only an urban area. Curious. Engaging its scanners, 777 went to work, scanning the area for any hidden areas or radio signals it might find. It took time, but it found a cave, behind a concealed entrance. Peeking inside, it could spot a single guard. Should it attempt to subdue him? Or should it contact the Praetorians first? It was tempting to attempt to show the Praetorians what it could do, but it decided against it, instead moving out of view from the cave entrance, doing its best to find a place to hide before disabling the stealth suites, so it could send a communication to the Praetorians. This was ineffective. Why had it never considered it such before? An upgrade was surely in order. <"This unit has located the escaped combatants in a hidden cave at this unit's current location. Awaiting orders on how to proceed."> It sent its coordinates along with it.

  20. GM The pirate ship started to move, with Forever Boy and White Lioness clearly feeling the effect as it turned and approached the other. It seemed that Zenith's plan worked, at least for now, even as the pirate at the helm lunged for the wheel, desperately trying to fight it. On the ground, the cannons that had been deployed started firing at the pirates that surrounded Mrs. Thursday. Light blue bursts of energy, two of them hitting, but seeming to have little effect on the pirates.
  21. Yeah, that was one injured, then. Now two. Alright, gonna skip Cubismo and move on. The building defenses fire on the 3 pirates: 23 17 8 15, that's 2 hits. No longer providing cover, but slowly fading. The cannonball that didn't break the dome was destroyed, the other is now inside the dome, not too far from the people near the entrance, with pirates appearing from it. The second, smaller dome is over it. There's a visual obscure fog effect on Ship A, with the heroes not being affected. The defense system has been activated: 4 Ranged Stun 9 cannons with +7 to hit. Salvo has the following Jury-Rigged device: Comprehend 3 (Horologium; Extras: Linked [Damage]; Flaw: Limited [To Nicole's Laptop], Unreliable) 1PP + Damage 15 (Extras: Linked [Damage], No Saving Throw [+2]; Flaws: Action [1 minute]), Distracting, Limited [Object Connected to Nicole's Laptop], Range [Touch], Uncontrolled); Drawbacks: Full Power, Lethal Only, Noticeable) 0PP* Current situation, to summarize: The institute is currently surrounded by a Toughness 10 dome, which the teens can pass or shoot through without harm. The flying Sky-Pirate ships are approaching from above. Ship A is about 50 feet away at this point, and Ship B about 500 feet away at this point. Both are about 200 feet above ground. Ship A has been moved, rather violently, in the path of ship B. Forever Boy has reached Ship A, flying near it. White Lioness is has landed on Ship A, Veronica is above on her sky bike. Ship A is covered by a fog. Salvo has created a weapon from the Horologium and summoned Belios, ready for action. A group of 5 pirates have appeared from a glowing light from the cannonball that managed to break through the dome. Ms. Thursday is in melee with 4 pirates of the Pirates inside a smaller dome, with 3 other pirates outside it, and Zenith on top of it. Thunderbird is in melee with the 3 pirates outside the smaller dome, having KO'ed two. @Tiffany Korta, @KnightDisciple, you're up!
  22. The chicken roti it was, and ginger beer too! It it was good, Pan would taste it! He perked up at Davyd's mention of treasure, and potential trouble. Both could be good, and even more importantly, interesting! And adventure! Unlike Lulu, Pan almost missed the part about the corset, before joining in with her in demanding Davyd tell that particular story! After all, how could he not? "An actor, then! Brilliant!" Pan raised a fist towards the ceiling in applause of Davyd. "Good work!" Yes, he deserved applause! But, the idea of treasure and adventure stayed on Pan's mind, as he quickly turned to Veronica, looking past Davyd. "So... is there treasure to be found at the ship?" There was a gleam in his eyes at the thought.
  23. GM "No!" The panic was clear in the woman's voice, as she raised her hand. Still blocked in by Ronin, even as Mr. Strix aided Lady Horus, she tried to push past. Raising her right hand, ink seemed to pour from under her nails, before shooting forward in a stream that passed by Lady Horus. Her final gambit failing, the powerful light from Lady Horus' seemed to start boiling even the ink still left on her fingers, like the ink from the books. It seemed all that was left for her to do was see what Lady Horus' would do.
  24. @Grumblefloof: Let's hit you with a Fatigue effect, and that's +1HP. So, while we know that Lady Horus will succeed, Cultist 1 do get to go before Mr. Strix and Dr. Thorne, so... Seeing that Lady Horus is up to something, the cultist targets her, throwing a blast of ink right at her: 15 And that's a miss. @Avenger Assembled Do your thing! 31 - Ronin - Uninjured - 2HP 24 - Lady Horus - Uninjured - 0HP 24 - Wadjet - Uninjured 24 - Cultist 1 (Illusion Creator) - Uninjured 21 - Cultist 2 (Big Brute) - Unconscious 12 - Mr. Strix - Shaken, Fatigued - 1HP - Defense -2 till next turn 10 - Cultist 3 (Shadow) - Unconscious 7 - Dr. Thorne - Uninjured - 2HP
  25. I'm letting the heroes basically combine their powers for the power check here, so the two 8's come from Dr. Thorne and Strix each adding their 8's to Horus' roll.
