  1. That's a hit. TOU: 18 And since he's staggered, cultist 2 finally goes down, no longer blocking the door. 31 - Ronin - Uninjured - 2HP 24 - Lady Horus - Uninjured - 0HP 24 - Wadjet - Uninjured 24 - Cultist 1 (Illusion Creator) - Uninjured 21 - Cultist 2 (Big Brute) - Unconscious 12 - Mr. Strix - Shaken - 0HP - Defense -2 till next turn 10 - Cultist 3 (Shadow) - Unconscious 7 - Dr. Thorne - Uninjured - 2HP Current situation around the room: The Cultist 2 (the big cultist) is knocked out in the doorway, with Liam next to it. Ronin is outside the room. Cultist 3 (the Shadow cultist) is on the floor, between Cultist 2 and Ronin. Wadjet is in the hallway, next to the big cultist, learning that he's knife proof. Liam is in the room behind Cultist 2. Cultist 1 has retreated to the corner the furthest away from the door, with Strix and Lady Horus in front of her, Strix being in melee range. Ink is dripping from the books on the table. An IC post from @Tiffany Korta, then @Supercape is up
  2. @KnightDisciple My bad, misread is as you just targeting one of the pirates. Made an edit with the other two rolling TOU, too. One down, one still up.
  3. Crits too, so let's see his TOU: 24 Not too bad! A bruise for Ahab. I'll roll for his recovery from dazzled and whatever else he does after your IC. 28 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 24 - Gauss - 3HP - Unharmed 20 - Captain Ahab - Bruise (x1), Dazzled (Visual, Auditory)
  4. Forever Boy At first, Pan wasn't quite sure. He recognized that man, didn't he? He was quite distinctive, after all, with the coat and the face and the harpoon. Where had he seen him before? Then Selena spoke up, and the good captain screamed and threw the couch at them, and well, that was good enough to make him remember. "Ahab! How are you even here!?" Despite Ahab's obviously murderous intent. "Hold that thought!" He raised his hand towards their foe, Pixie Dust swirling around it before exploding outward in a brilliant, and quite loud, sparkling explosion of firework. Had he been quicker, Ahab might have avoided, but not so. Quickly, Pan leaned in near Selena, raising a hand up to cover his mouth towards Ahab, while he whispered: "He is from my world! A bit of a nasty type, but his heart is in the right place, somewhere deep deep deep down. Still, be my guest with the heavy machinery and all that!"
  5. Well, good rolls all around. 28 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 24 - Gauss - 3HP - Unharmed 20 - Captain Ahab - Unharmed Forever Boy is gonna throw some fireworks at the good captain: 1d20+16 = 33, that's a hit. DC18 Ref save to avoid being blinded and deafened for Ahab: 17 And Gauss is up
  6. GM The man paused, the couch still held high above his head. He turned to Gauss, watching the machine bobbing up and down behind her, before snarling out a response. Whatever else she had hoped for, he did not seem scared in the least. If anything, he seemed even more pissed off. "How do you know my name!? Are you in league with the cursed whale!?" The optic of his robotic eye seemed to adjust, as if trying to take in the full view of the strange woman before him... and then he noticed her companion. "FOREVER BOY!" With little effort, he threw the couch towards the heroes, making his distaste of Gauss' companion obvious.
  7. Right then, opposed intimidate: 35 Sorry, no such luck, HOWEVER... See IC. And throwing the couch, Forever Boy and Gauss are close enough that he can hit them both, so let's see: 10, missing both. Let's get some initiative, then we'll go from there in turn order. Captain Ahab: 20 Forever Boy: 1d20+ 9 = 28
  8. GM The gunman took his hand and was lifted up, standing up straight and stretching. He was obviously still sore from the hits he had taken. "Nah. Not a distraction. Just attention. Connect the dots, hero. If everyone's looking at your little charity thing, then imagine the attention it'll get." He raised his hand, pointing to Tricia Thorne. "Imagine the attention that you'll get, ain't that right, Thorne?" Tricia Thorne stopped in her tracks. She had been moving away, but now she just looked at Captain Cosmos and the gunmen. "You have got to be kidding me. They're obviously lying, mister hero! Take them down now, before they shoot all of us!"
  9. GM "Ah, kid... You really don't. It's a mess when it happens, and we've learned what we can. I'm sure you've seen horrible stuff in movies and whatever, but this is real. Its really not something you need to..." Rita was obviously about to continue, when another of the researchers in the room raised his voice, having approached them while Nicole had looked away. "Would you stop that! Honestly! Its been months since we last had any of the test subjects reject any of the nanomachines! We've fixed it! Move on, and get us the approval for some real animal testing already!" The man was tall, and rather imposing. Caucasian, bald, with a small black moustache. He was probably in the mid thirties or so, and his tone and stance made it clear that he thought he knew better than Rita or anyone else in the room. He had a pair of black rimmed rectangular glasses in his lab coat pocket, which he wore over a black t-shirt with the logo for some heavy metal band that was named something along the lines of "The Fyreslayers", though the font made it hard to read, and a pair of jeans. Rita's demeanor changed almost instantly when the man spoke up. "Ah. Nicole, this is Doctor Guy Richards. As you can imagine, he does not quite agree with my assessment of the potential dangers of the nanomachines."
  10. My bad @Thevshi, I read White Lioness zipping up towards the pirate ship as Veronica being left behind. @KnightDisciple: Let's go for some mood lighting, but without any more concealment. And that's a hit, TOU save: 19, fail by 4, so KO EDIT: TOU saves for the other two guys: 27 16. One fine, one fail by 7, so KO 32 - White Lioness - 1HP - Unharmed - Waiting for a lift for the rest of the turn 26 - Thunderbird - 2HP - Unharmed *25 - Veronica Danger - 3HP - Unharmed *24 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 23 - Ship A Crew - Undamaged - 3 Pirates near Danger building - 1x Unharmed, 2x KO - 2 Pirates inside the small dome - Unharmed 21 - Ms. Thursday - 2HP - Unharmed (Currently DEF 5) 19 - Salvo - 2HP - Unharmed 15 - Ship B Crew - Undamaged 11 - Zenith - 2HP - Unharmed 5 - Building Defenses Other Zenith's Big Dome - Toughness 10, Def -7? The cannonball that didn't break the dome was destroyed, the other is now inside the dome, not too far from the people near the entrance, with pirates appearing from it. The second dome is over it. The defense system has been activated: 4 Ranged Stun 9 cannons with +7 to hit. Current situation, to summarize: The institute is currently surrounded by a Toughness 10 dome, which the teens can pass or shoot through without harm. The flying Sky-Pirate ships are approaching from above. Ship A is about 1000 feet away at this point, and Ship B about 1500 feet away at this point, but approaching rapidly. Both are about 200 feet above ground. Forever Boy has reached Ship A, flying near it. White Lioness is approaching has landed on Ship A, Veronica is above on her sky bike. Salvo has moved further inside the complex to try to figure out the Horologium. A group of 5 pirates have appeared from a glowing light from the cannonball that managed to break through the dome. Ms. Thursday is in melee with 2 pirates of the Pirates inside a smaller dome, with 3 other pirates outside it, and Zenith on top of it. Thunderbird is in melee with the 3 pirates outside the smaller dome, having KO'ed one. @Thevshi is up, then I'll go with Forever Boy and the Ship A crew.
  11. GM And it was with feeling, indeed. Even though his barrier had taken hits already, the red flames raced out far faster than the hunters could react. One of them shouted a loud curse, which was drowned out in the roar of the flames, trying to throw himself out of the way. It was to no avail. All three hunters were enveloped in the fiery explosion. The one that had first shot at William, fell in that very moment, while the others remained standing, their clothes burnt and smoking. Or rather, they would have remained standing, but William had other ideas. Having avoided being seared, the mighty pig glared towards the nearest hunter, the one he had already tried attacking. With a loud *OINK!*, he let loose the war pig inside and charged straight at the unfortunate hunter. He barely had time to react before the full force of the mythic pig hammered into him, trampling him underneath its hooves. Stamping a few times on the knocked out hunter, seemingly just for the hell of it, William let out a very satisfied *OINK!*
  12. You should be able to catch all the hunters in the effect. Reflex Saves for half TOU: 20 27 17 Hunter 2 makes the reflex save. TOU saves: 25 10 17 Fail by 2, 12 and 10 Hunter 1 goes down due to Stagger Hunter 2 is Staggered and Dazed Hunter 3 is Staggered and Dazed The hunters can't do much, William goes for Hunter 3 again: 24 That's a hit, TOU for Hunter 3 vs DC26: 11 Hunter 3 goes down too, and you're up. Hunter 1 - KO Hunter 2 - Staggered, Dazed Hunter 3 - KO Oz - 1HP - Bruised x1 - Force Field: Injury x1, Hole Charlemagne - Unharmed William the Pig - Unharmed
  13. GM The cultist almost hissed as the man in white refused her. She might have evaded taking a hit so far, letting her companions do the actual fighting, but now she had no fight. As Strix cornered her, claws at the ready, she tried to back away, only to find the wall in the way. His claws reached her quickly, scratching across her robes, yet meeting unexpected resistance underneath. It seemed that he had been right about not needing to go easy.
  14. Thanks, I must have forgotten to remove that HP. Fixed from this point on. That's a hit, with +1 to DC, so TOU vs. DC24: 25 The cultist makes the save 31 - Ronin - Uninjured - 2HP 24 - Lady Horus - Uninjured - 0HP 24 - Wadjet - Uninjured 24 - Cultist 1 (Illusion Creator) - Uninjured 21 - Cultist 2 (Big Brute) - Bruise (x4), Staggered 12 - Mr. Strix - Shaken - 0HP - Defense -2 till next turn 10 - Cultist 3 (Shadow) - Unconscious 7 - Dr. Thorne - Uninjured - 2HP Current situation around the room: The Cultist 2 (the big cultist) is blocking the doorway into the room, having just been punched by Liam from behind. Ronin has reached outside the room and shot at Cultist 2. Cultist 3 (the Shadow cultist) is on the floor, between Cultist 2 and Ronin. Wadjet is in the hallway, next to the big cultist, learning that he's knife proof. Liam is in the room behind Cultist 2. 15. GM Before Robin spoke, Mayor Smalls seemed to gain some courage from Gretchen's request for help. He almost seemed to visible grown half an inch, maybe even a full inch. "Yes, yes! Help! Of course you will need help! Now look, over there! Just follow the Silver Road, all the way to Ruby Castle! The Grand Sorcerer leaves there, you know! He will be able to help you! Surely, he will!" He seemed almost excited, now. Like this was the best thing to have happened. "Make sure to tell him that you came through Lilliput! Then he will surely help you!" He had taken to leaning back and forth on his toes and heels, which came to a complete stop as Robin spoke and opened the portal. It was as if all color drained from his face. It seemed he could deal with Gretchen flowing into the ground, but not with the other one creating a literal hole in the very air. "Err... Yes. Good luck." Then he turned, hurrying inside the house and closed the door. Only to quickly open it and peek outside to tell them, once more: "Remember! Tell the Grand Sorcerer that Lilliput sent you!" Then he closed the door again.
  16. Justice This was weird. Like, really weird. Just seeing Gretchen's head stuck in the ground like that, talking to the very small mayor and then turning around and... shouting that if she had any secret abilities that could help them, now was the time. Right. Gretchen was right. She had already shown that she could do whatever she was doing, now it was Robin's time, right? She'd wanted to find other super people, and Gretchen was a good guy, right? So, maybe it would be fine to show her? Still, she hesitated. She had put on the suit in public many times, but usually while wearing her mask, and not when anyone was ready to watch her, so it felt kind of weird. Maybe... maybe she should just tell Gretchen instead? But then, there were all the little people. How would they react? And Gretchen was cool, but who knew were the little people would do or what all this was... Some place secluded, maybe? Yeah, yeah. The AnneX would do. "Umm... yeah. I got... something. But I really don't want to show it off in front of all these..." She gestured with her hands out over the small houses. "People. Secret ID, all that." Great. Great. Just a great first impression as a super hero. With a sigh, she reached up the round purple-pink stone she wore as an amulet in her necklace and touched it softly. It had felt weird the first time she discovered this, but now she was getting more used to it. A moment of focus, and the a purple-pink portal, same color as the amulet, opened up besides her. It was big enough to fit a person through, more too. In less than a second the purple-pink color gave away, showing instead the insides of what appeared to be a rather sparsely decorated room. "Umm. Yeah. Sorry, but this is not gonna get us out of here. Its just a one way back and forth. Open portal between, uh, my headquarters, I guess, and where I was before." All kinds of other neat tricks, of course, but not here. Not in the middle of where everyone was. Stepping towards the portal, Robin took a deep breath, before taking a step inside and turning to Gretchen. "You coming?" Alright! Nailed that part at least!
  17. GM What met them were a sight, to be sure. A man, or at least part of him were a man, stood in the middle of the room, ranting and raving at everything and everyone. People had either fled or were covering, as he held a couch high above his head with just his right hand. In his left, he held a harpoon with jagged edges at the point. He was wearing a dark coat and layered dark cloak that covered most of his body, with only his hands in gloves and his feet in heavy boots being visible. He had a wild, scraggly beard that had once been completely black but now appeared to be greying. He was bald, with a large collection of scars crisscrossing his scalp. His left eye and ear appeared to have been replaced with crude cybernetic enhancements, copper in color. Their exposure to oxygen were slowly turning them light green. "WHERE IS IT? I had it right there, in my sights! And then it was gone! Where is the blasted whale!?" He almost didn't see the people around him, too preoccupied with his rants.
  18. Forever Boy A crash and a bang and action. Pan liked movies, of course. It was so different from anything back home, and yet, it was nothing like the thrill of actual adventure and the call to action. Glowing golden dust was already falling around his body as he stood and Selena caught the popcorn machine, replacing his clothing with his red and green uniform, mask and all. He could hear corn popping in it still, even as it tumbled through the air, held aloft by Selena. He quickly lifted above, the golden glow around his body making him visible even in the slightly darkened room. "Hurry now, the super heroes are here to handle various flying machines. One at a time, do not step on each other!" He wasn't really sure if he would have thought of getting everyone out of the way if not for Selena starting it, but it was probably the best thing to do. With everyone seeming to move in the right direction, he flew down past Selena. "Would you honestly have it any other way?" He was all smiles as he zoomed straight towards the lobby.
  19. Wait wait wait. Jones did not know what he was messing with here? He had no idea what he was going using to try to blow up the building? Was he really that dense? You don't go around blowing things up if you don't know how much will be blown up! Not just for the whole "taking himself out too" part, but for whatever else he might end up taking out too. These things looked dangerous, and now he was just handing them over to her? Yeah, Jones was underestimating her, or at least hadn't put two and two together about Robin being far from dumb. So, of course she was gonna fiddle. Try to figure out what this was. Play along for a moment, and that transfer had to be finished now. "Yeah, yeah. One moment, let me just check how you arm this thing." Or how much damage they could do. Or how to disarm it, preferably permanently. This did beg one question, however. Jones didn't know what kind of explosives he was lugging around, so just how much did he know about that armor he was wearing? And had he really put it together himself?
  20. No blowing stuff up without knowing what's up! Justice is gonna try to figure out what the explosive is, how powerful the blast will be and such, maybe if she knows how to disable it. I think that's under Physical Sciences, using Skill Mastery for a result of 22. Let me know if its not, then I'll roll for whatever else it might be.
  21. U.F.O. Well, the mission had been given. The enemies of the Praetorians were escaping, and they needed someone to follow that could do so swiftly, and while remaining hidden. If the Praetorian leader designated Paradigm had given the order, then 777 would follow it. It felt strange, in a way. 777 had begun to establish that it felt things that organics would call feelings. What was this feeling? Pride? Very interesting. <"This unit will establish pursuit and contact the Praetorians once a base of operations has been reached."> Engaging its full stealth suite, 777 would seem to disappear as it started its pursuit.
  22. Justice Few people in the crowds probably understood what Max Mars was going on about with how the Olympus was converting greenhouse gasses into useful, less harmful substances, but one Robin Lynne Langley. Of course she had to be here for the MarsTech Science Fair. She had been coming for years, and she wasn't about to stop now. All the new tech, everything that Max Mars was dreaming up, presented out here by the man himself? It was great, as always! And the Olympus? It was nothing short of a revolution! Honestly, Robin would love to get to Max Mars, really poke his mind about everything that he was thinking, but she knew that wasn't about to happen. That Meridian, however... there was just something about her that rubbed Robin the wrong way. Sure, she was a hero. Everything said so, and she was hanging out with Max Mars, which had to be a plus, but there was just something about the way that she played to the cameras, or maybe Robin just had to admit that she was kind of jealous? Meridian had just popped up and was already doing things like this, while she'd been at it as Justice since Halloween, and aside from that thing with Sunnyside Immigrant Refuge, the Wall, Blowfish and Detective Kidd, and being on television for that. Yeah, that might be it. She really wasn't sure, but maybe that was it, and just seeing her flying around like that? Maybe. Anyway, there was plenty of things happening here. Robin could just as well focus on Max Mars and everything else being shown at the fair.
  23. GM Rita froze up for a moment at Nicole's statement about what happened to the ones that weren't lucky, even after the chuckle. She wasn't completely back to normal by the time Nicole rolled on, but she followed her anyway, waiting behind the chair as she let Nicole take everything in. Nicole's close look did not reveal much. There seemed to be something in there, but it was so impossibly small that the naked eye could not see them. There was just the sense that there were something in there. "Right. Give them plenty of space. We're trying to work on making them self replicate, so that seemed like a good idea." She paused for a moment, before continuing, her tone shifting, growing a bit more somber. "Listen, about the unlucky test mice... I'm not gonna lie to you here, Nicole. This is important work. It is the cure, but it is also insanely dangerous. The unlucky ones... I'm not even sure you could recognize them as mice anymore. Its been a long while since we last had something like that happen, but we can't be too careful." She shuddered. From the look on her face it was obviously not a happy memory.
