GM Sgt. Shark was fast. Far too fast for the Squid Leader to get out of the way before the half-man, half-shark and all sergeant bit straight into one of its flailing limbs. It flashed red and yellow, as in alarm, but all of its arms begun to flash with bright blue, almost white, like lightning running through its arms. And that was just what was happening, a powerful shock running directly into Sgt. Shark through the teeth, leaving him little chance to try and escape the shock.

That's indeed a hit! Toughness: 22, a Bruise for the Squid Leader! And a DC24 Toughness Roll for Sgt. Shark! The moment he bites, the Squid Leader's Electric Damage effect with Aura hits you. And @TheAbsurdist, you're up

@Grumblefloof: You'll get a chance to get rid of the shaken status at the end of the encounter. Which will probably come soon, the way things are looking. That's a hit. Opposed grapple: 17, you got her. Now that you are this close, you notice that the cultist smells strongly of fresh ink. @Tiffany Korta You're up after Grumble.

GM Seeds were planted, and indeed growing. Despite the lead gunman being masked, Buddy could almost tell that he was frowning under the mask. "Are you for real?" But yes, it did indeed appear that Buddy Brand was for real. Tricia could not help but let out a loud "Ha!" before promptly being forced into her seat once again. "One hour. Its one hour, then we're gone, if everything works as it should, and you can't keep it in for one hour!?" The leader of the gunmen had clearly not thought about something like this.

Revenge, huh? Was he here because of Anna? Made sense, with the way he came storming out of the hospital. Honestly, Robin had all but forgotten that he was even there, but still, wow. He must've been close to her, if he went to do something like this. Or maybe just unhinged. It was honestly kind of difficult to tell. "I'm Justice, and no, I'm not with these people." It was true, after all. She had come here to try and figure out how to help Anna, but not like this? "But I'm also not the kind of person that can just let you attack everyone. I'm sure a lot of people here are bad, but running around and hurting everyone at random? That'll just make you as bad as them." C'mon. Just once. Just once let it work to try and talk things through instead of having to end up fighting.

@Avenger Assembled forgot to mention that the Possession got subtle, so no indication for Lady Horus on what almost happened. @Grumblefloof You're up

GM The large cultist was hit, his head reeling back from Ronin's shot, but with little effect beyond that. He was made of sterner stuff, it seemed. With the shadowy cultist now on the ground, his shape flickering and twisting about, but otherwise motionless, it the large one prepared to strike at Mr. Strix again, only to be stopped dead in his track when the ball fired by Wadjet exploded right next to his face. With a groan, he stumbled into the door frame, though he still blocked the entrance. The last cultist glared at Lady Horus. She chanted something in a strange tongue, and the men of ink that had surrounded Strix disappeared. And yet... nothing seemed to happen. Whatever she had tried, it had obviously failed.

Initiative for the 10 squid: 1d20+5 = 12 Initiative for Squid Leader: 1d20+6 = 8 The gate is shutting behind you, and there is not a ton of place to move around in the room (especially not with a total of 11 squids in there). You can try and stop the gate if you want, but that will leave you open for the squid. 28 - Sgt. Shark - 2 HP - Undamaged 19- Asad - 3 HP - Undamaged 18 - Sea Devil - 2 HP - Undamaged 12 - Squid Minions x10 - Undamaged 8 - Squid Leader - Undamaged @Supercape you're up

GM The group followed the alien squids through the entrance, into a dark corridor, roughly 165 feet in length, and 30 meters wide and tall. Not a whole lot of space to move around in, which is probably what the eight squids at the opposite side of the room was hoping for. Whether the the alien squids could actually understand Sgt. Shark or not, it seemed that his half hope for violence was about to happen. The moment they were all inside the gate, it began closing behind them. Not quickly, hardly fast enough to notice now that the eight squid inside the room all lit up. The apparent lead squid quickly moved behind them, shining a bright, angry red color. The command was quite clear, as all the armed alien squids promptly raised their weapons. At least Sgt. Shark's warning meant the group of heroes were ready.

Alright, Robin was used to people not recognizing her, and she had changed the armor a bit in the last few months, but still, this guy was using parts of her armor, and he didn't know who she was? That stung! Still, focus. The Justice Buster was at her side, but she was pretty sure that drawing it wouldn't help this situation any, especially not if she could maybe try and talk this guy down. No reason for violence if she could help it, right? And they did seem to have the same basic plan, at least, even if he was going about it much more violently than she would have preferred. "Yeah? And what do you hope to accomplish by doing that?" Honestly, she was curious. This place probably had tons of weird stuff hidden around. Bringing it down might be a good thing in the long run, but they'd probably just relocate or something like that, wouldn't they?

GM Trish made a grim, somewhat forced smile in response. "This is Freedom City, Mr. Brand. How long do you think it'll last before a hero comes flying in?" She eyed the gunman instead. "Isn't that right?" The gunman seemed to think about it for a brief moment, then moved over closer, this time pointing the gun at the woman sitting next to Buddy. She was at least 70 years, but had aged gracefully. Wore a dark red dress, rather simple. Her once blond, now greying hair was cut short. "Yeah? You think so? Then maybe we'll start shooting if some hero shows up." He looked at some of the cameras placed around the room. "You hear that? The moment I see a hero in here, people start dying."
-
Justice Still nothing happening! What was up with the guy going around abducting people here? Was Robin not good enough for him? Did he want someone better to kidnap? Honestly, she was probably a bit too lost in her own thinking, and she should have been paying more attention, or maybe at least looked up, but she did not expect someone popping down from above, and she did not expect who this was. "You're the Emerald Spider!" She was starstruck. Alright, she admitted it. Couldn't help herself. "This is so cool!" She quickly pulled her hood back, making the red domino mask she was wearing just a bit more obvious, freeing her dark red hair pulled into a tight ponytail. Robin's first instinct was to try and jump up and hug her, but she resisted. "I'm Justice! You've been such a huge inspiration! Its so awesome to meet you!"

Honestly, Pan had not expected Judy to be the one to suggest they skip out on classwork, but he was not complaining in the least! And a mall? He had yet to visit one of those, but they had been in so many of the movies that he had seen! "The mall it is, then! A fine destination for playing hooky!" While said with Pan's usual fanfare, he did keep his voice down, at least. No reason to announce to just everyone what they were planning on doing, after all. Quieter, he added: "Did I say that right?" But sneaking out without getting in trouble? Now that just sounded dull, did it not? Of course, the trick would be to get in trouble without getting caught. "Judy, Judy, Judy," he sang in a sing-song voice, as he followed her and Danica. He held up and apple in his hand, which promptly vanished. "How will they ever catch us, if they can't see us? Or is it against the rules of playing hooky if no one can see us?"

GM If the gunmen were stupid enough to shoot Buddy right now, they sure weren't showing it. Not yet, at least. "Yeah. There's a plan." He didn't really seem to want to share more, despite Buddy's prodding. But at least it looked like he was seeing some sense in what Buddy seemed to be proposing. "But having someone to negotiate would make things easier." "Hey! Who's side are you on, asshole!?" Tricia was not about to let things go this easily, it seemed. She started to push against the gunman holding her, while glaring directly at Buddy. "You better not be thinking of helping them!"

Whoever was doing this, he was just smashing through everything in his way. He had to be pissed if he was getting in here like this, just smashing up the place, not caring about whoever got caught in the crossfire. Sure, Robin wanted to bring this place down, but she was not about to hurt random people that got in her way to do it. The guard was down, a taser in hand. Taking a quick moment to make sure she was alright, Robin then reached for the taser, quickly slipping it out of the guard's hand. It might come in hand, and she didn't have one in her toolkit already, sooo... And then she was off, hurrying down the stairs. Noise was getting louder, she had to be getting closer to the bad guy, and Robin had really not suspected that it would be Jones the Janitor of all people. Honestly, just about anyone else, but Jones? No, not Jones, that made no sense. He was the janitor, he didn't do stuff like that, didn't smash up buildings and people like that... and wait, that armor! That was some of Robin's old prototypes! She was sure of it! "Hey! What do you think you're doing? That's my armor you're wearing, buddy!" Even with how many changes she had made to the design, and how different it was now from her old prototypes, and even from what she had first worn, Robin was sure of it, and it really wouldn't be difficult to notice it. Then the question was, just what did Jones know? And why was he here?

Right, was waiting to see if anyone else wanted to do something IC. Initiative rolls, please.

There's a -4 to hit since Cultist 2 is in melee with Mr. Strix, but that's still a hit. Toughness Save for Cultist 2: 12: Dazed and bruised, but still blocking the doorway! Cultist 1 tries to posses Lady Horus, and the ink illusions around vanish. @Avenger Assembled, give me a DC16 Will Save for Lady Horus. Failure means you get possessed. Waiting with IC until I get the effect of that. Current situation around the room: Mr. Strix is standing at the doorway, with the hulking Cultist 2 in front of him, blocking him from entering. Ronin has reached outside the room and shot at Cultist 2. They are surrounded by 4 black humanoids that seem to be made out of Ink. If you interact with them, DC15 Will Save to see that they're illusions. Cultist 3 behind Mr. Strix has just been knocked out by Lady Horus. Dr. Thorne is outside the room as well, and Wadjet is in the hallway, having taken a shot. Cultist 1's status depends on whether possession fails or not. 31 - Ronin - Uninjured - 1HP 24 - Lady Horus - Uninjured - 0HP 24 - Wadjet - Uninjured 24 - Cultist 1 (Illusion Creator) - Uninjured 21 - Cultist 2 (Big Brute) - Bruise (x1), Dazed 12 - Mr. Strix - Shaken - 2HP 10 - Cultist 3 (Shadow) - Unconscious 7 - Dr. Thorne - Uninjured - 2HP

Nothing at the size of cars and/or planes visible right now, but there could be some larger things. There's gizmos and gadgets, high tech and magic, paintings and strange super computers, but feel free to be creative.

GM The leader of the gunmen looked around for a moment at Buddy's response, then slowly lowered the gun, holstering it. He still had the rifle in his other hand, but he was at least backing down from the imminent threat to Buddy's life. He seemed to think about it for a moment, then agreed with Buddy. "Yeah. Nobody wants blood, Mr. Brand." He motioned towards Tricia with his rifle, as if to make sure Buddy got his point. "So, what exactly do you propose? I'm sure you got money. Thorne wouldn't have invited you here otherwise, but you don't have that kind of money." Around the room, the various other gunmen were either moving around, patrolling and seeing what the guests were up to, or simply standing guard. They did their best to leave no place out of their sight for too long. At the tables, several guests were still transfering money, quickly giving up on their belongings if it meant saving their lives.

Well then, it seemed that the time for talk was over, and it was time for action. If the Mushroom Men could infect them, like the Fun Guy said, then Pan would do his best to stay away. And if they were blind and feeling vibrations, then he felt an even lesser desire to stay on the ground than usual! Stay up high, and fly! "Cutstab, it is! Or perhaps something else, because if I am to be honest, Captain Boddyflock, I do not believe it wise to get too close, unless you wish to become a fun guy yourself!" Whether Boddyflock listened or not, Pan was not about to get close. Instead, he gathered Pixie Dust in his hand, creating a glowing, winged ball of light, then threw it towards the nearest Mushroom Man. The Pixie soared towards it, flying in seemingly random patterns before colliding with the target, with enough force to knock it from its feet and down and out for the count.

Well, Pan will attempt to blast the nearest Mushroom Man with a Pixie Blast, while remaining up high above it all, and a good distance away. Attack: 1d20+11 = 19. DC 26 Toughness if it hits.

GM The Seeker's descent was slow, but uneventful. Nobody seemed to be looking up on this particular night. Moving down the building on the outside was not exactly easy, but not an impossible task either. If he took his time, he could at least avoid the windows that he could hear noises behind. Further and further, until finally, he reached the window leading into the Talon's safehouse. Or apartment, as it were. Of course, the window was locked. He had options, of course. Smash the glass, break open the window. The question was how much noise he would be willing to make.
