  1. Again, Robin couldn't suppress her smile. One shot, and she had taken down the first goon. The second looked like he actually doubted where this was going to go, now. He was alone now, his friend taken down, and with one shot too. He had to do something, but he didn't try running. And he had a weapon. Robin was fast, but not that fast, but not that fast, and the stick came down quick. Moving her left arm up, she was once again thankful that she had upgraded the actual armor in her suit. It stung, but not more than that. And now she was up. Time to try that new addition. She could feel the hum in her right boot as the micro engines powered up. Kicking straight up, she aimed for the goon's guts, hoping the Justice Kick would be enough to take the fight out of him.
  2. Tough Roll: 1d20+8 = 9 Ow. Gonna spend a HP on rerolling that. 1d20+8 = 20 Going for a Justice Kick to try and take him down. If he's a minion, I'm taking 10 for a total 16. If not: 1d20+6 = 14. DC25 Toughness if it hits.
  3. Toughness Save: 1d20+6 = 18 So, bruise and dazed. Reflex Save vs. Snare: 1d20+10 = 30 But not tangled up in the tree!
  4. One shot. Maybe Cassidy was getting better at the old Dust Devil's gun trick than he thought. So, one guy remaining. And he started running. Probably didn't like his odds, being all alone now. He was about to go for the robber, but a newcomer beat him to it. He had been right about the water, then. A hero, someone that could manipulate water. Her entire costume brought it to mind. Skin-tight, unlike his own. She moved, and Cassidy found himself just watching as the water followed her movements, sending the robber flying out of the store. He might even have been unconscious before he hit the floor. "Dust Devil." He nodded at once, then turned towards the nearest robber, kneeling by him. Tsunami was checking on the girl, no reason to crowd her. "Is she alright?" At least Cassidy was a good enough shot to not touch her with his shot, but still, the shock alone could be too much for the poor girl. Nobody liked having guns pointed at them. He wasn't the most personable person, so hopefully Tsunami would be better at dealing with her, while he looked at the weapons. He had to be sure if this was uncle Ben's stock.
  5. Yeah, Robin didn't believe these goons would take the chance to back down either. Some people just didn't want to avoid trouble. She briefly followed the thug's finger to his rather large boot. Ker-ushing? That's what he was gonna do? She couldn't keep a smile from her face, but thankfully it was hidden by her mask. She couldn't wait to show these two goons one of her newest upgrades, now. But it would have to wait. She had the advantage of range at the moment, so it would be best to actually use the weapon in her hand. Her right hand shot up, her left hand moving under the Justice Buster to support the weight. Then she pulled the trigger, sending a blast of kinetic energy flying straight at the nearest of the two goons.
  6. Intimidate: 1d20+2 = 15 And taking a shot at the nearest one with the Justice Buster: 1d20+11 = 17, DC20 Toughness save if it hits. Trying to stay between Amber and the thugs, so they don't get to her.
  7. Initiative: 1d20+7 = 10 19 - Lament - 1HP - Unharmed 10 - Grendel's Mother - Unharmed
  8. GM Grendel's Mother fell silent. She watched the cracks in Lament, the flesh and bones fading away, the darkness inside him taking over. She had been mistaken. This was a man. This was a mortal. She was right there. But the blackness inside him, the hungry darkness, it was anything but mortal. No, the Void inside the thief was hungry, but so was she. Her appearance shifted. Like she was a drawing, and the lines suddenly grew thicker. More marked. Her fingers becoming claws. The darkness around her eyes growing darker. She would not accept this. She would not just let him escape.
  9. One pinned Shark then! @TheAbsurdist is up for IC post, then @Avenger Assembled for Sea Devil!
  10. A stand off, then. Fine. Cassidy began shifting his sand slightly. Time for another trick, but, the water was still moving. And yeah, his gamble paid off. The water moved with intent, moving up between the robber and the hostage and blocking his bullet. Cassidy took his own shot, raising his right hand towards the other robber, now that he seemed distracted. A revolver made out of sand formed in his hand. He probably didn't really need to do this, but it felt right. Something left over from his predecessor, maybe? Didn't know, didn't care. It felt right. Pulling the trigger of sand, he fired a sand bullet at the man. It wouldn't kill him, but it would hurt if it hit, and hopefully take him down for the count.
  11. Shifting MMG array to Sand Bullet and taking a shot at the robber not holding the hostage, still standing in the door: 1d20+10 = 14 DC25 Toughness if it hits.
  12. @Grumblefloof, @Supercape: You will quickly find the room, the door being left wide open. It is not large, about 15x15 feet, with a wall filled with monitors. There is a single guard with his back turned to the door, staring up at the screens, focused on the one showing the room where Lady Horus is currently in. There's controls in front of the monitors, a table and four chairs in the opposite room. The screens are showing 3 guards advancing on Lady Horus' room. The darkness has gotten into the security room, but the guard doesn't seem to have noticed yet. @Avenger Assembled Can I get a notice check for Lady Horus?
  13. GM Doctor Thorne, Ronin & Wadjet The man stared blankly up at Mr. Strix. "I don't know. Haven't seen them. Nobody has. There's someone up there, and we gotta keep everyone else out." Not even a rumor, it seemed. With the supernatural darkness filling the floor, it was easy for them to make their way towards the security booth. Even more as they heard the noise made by Lady Horus, an apt distraction for anyone keeping watch in the building. As Wadjet left, the guard stared blankly after her. He had no idea what she said, and so he just sat there. Mr. Strix On his way to the top of the building, as he sought to reach the door, Mr. Strix would happen upon the guards heading towards Lady Horus. Would he try to stop them, or continue on his own? Lady Horus Lady Horus found herself standing in an empty room. It was large, with plenty of room to move about. Some kind of storage room, with shelves filled with books everywhere. From the smell in the room, she got the distinct impression that it was usually used for storing candy, and not books, but not this day. There were a few doors to choose from up ahead. There would probably be someone to check on the noise she had made in moments.
  14. Sgt. Shark remains grappled! And can I get an opposed Grapple from @Supercape to see if the pin succeeds?
  15. GM "You are mortal!" The old woman almost spat the words at the Hero of Heavy Hearts. As she approached, she almost seemed to grow. She towered above him, and yet, she did not seem to fill the low ceiling on the cavern. It was most perplexing, really. Was she growing? It did not seem so, and yet, she was now towering above him. "Who are YOU to demand anything of me? You speck! You mortal dust! You claim these fancy titles, you demand and you deride! What do you know of the games and plans of myths and legends!?" It hit Lament full force. A feeling of dread, of fear, of utter and abject terror. Her very voice, her very presence!
  16. And now... Intimidate back at ya! 1d20+25 = 44 There is something super natural about the intimidation in effect, it is not just her personal presence or something like that. Will Lament be cowed!? Or will the Void strike!?
  17. Opposed Intimidate: 1d20+25 = 38
  18. Can I get an intimidate check for your posturing?
  19. I'm guessing that an initiative roll is in order? Rolling now, for the sake of speed. Initiative: 1d20+2 = 17 Also, cue the theme song!
  20. Oh come on! Of course she had to go and sprain her foot or ankle or whatever! Still, Robin was quickly by her side, starting to help Amber to her feet... and then she heard the voices around the corner. The bodyguard that had cracked his knuckles, doing the move again. He must like to try and intimidate people with that. "Whatever happens next, try and stay out of the way." she whispered to Amber. One hand had already moved to her Justice Buster, a slight grin on her lips. Needing a hand free to activate her suit wasn't always the best idea, so she had made some upgrades. Sure, the phone and the app still worked, but, she had also put in a voice activation. She guessed there would be no talking to these goons. Loyal to Blowfish, stupid, big and strong. They would take her down quick in a straight fight. She stood up straight, swinging her arm out. If he thought a mask meant Halloween... well... This guy was in for a shock. She couldn't keep a grin from her lips. She really got to say this! "Henshin!" The Justice Driver came to life, red and gold springing forth, as Justice leapt into action, quickly placing herself between Amber and the two goons, her gun raised. If Amber had liked her costume before... well, this was something different. "You two are getting one chance to back off!"
  21. Was it excessive force, breaking parts of the shop to take down the men? Probably, but Cassidy was more focused on taking them down quick. There was no telling what those weapons could do to anyone, and he wasn't about to risk that. And then they had a hostage. Damn. Cassidy had hoped that everyone was gone from the store already, but it didn't seem like that was the case after all. At least his sand storm was still raging, still swirling around them, making it difficult for the two robbers to see anything. That might give him a chance here, at least. So, what should he do? Give up, let them get away with the hostage and the jewelry? Take a shot? He had been practicing. He was getting better, but still... it was a chance. And then he saw it, the water. That was not how water was meant to behave, was it? It is moving forward, towards the robber. Maybe it would be best to see how it played out, then? "Alright." He raised his hands, taking a step back. The sand still spun around him, he wasn't about to let that go. Not if it meant they didn't notice the water. "No need to go killing anyone now. You don't want that on yer conscience, do ya?"
  22. Just talking this round, keeping them calm.
  23. Using DD's Skill Mastery for the Notice Check, for a total result of 20.
  24. GM Charles led on then, as Oswald requested. Through the hall, which were absolutely covered in various paintings of magical beasts. There, the image of a griffon in flight. There, a giant elephant with four sets of tusks. And so much more, paintings of all sizes and shapes. The middle of the hall was dominated by a great water fountain, in the shape of a three headed dog. Water poured from each of the mouths, much like drool or slobber. Charles paused his walk, looking at it with a fond smile. "I always loved the tale of Cerberus as a child. Imagine! A three headed guard dog, keeping everyone safe! Is it not wonderful, Mr. Zappelius?"
  25. "Yeah, just wait 'till I pull out the entire thing." Robin responded to the costume comment. This was just the mask, and it wasn't like she would normally wear these clothes with it, but hey, the mask was good for semi-incognito work like this, right? "Let's focus on protecting you first, alright? I really think we should go somewhere else, and I saw Blowfish talking to one of his goons inside. Didn't look to be too pleasant, sooo... yeah. Let's get out of here." She couldn't really show Amber just how she would protect her, could she? She didn't have a plan, didn't have a safe house... the closest thing they had was the Wall's hiding place. It might be a good spot, if the Wall and detective Kidd hadn't killed each other yet, but they couldn't be followed there either. It would have to do. With some determination, Robin gestured Amber forward. The sooner they left this place, the better. Then she could get the evidence.
