GM One leap, and Lament was at the forest. A second, and he stood by the cave. His course had been set, and the boots would carry the Sultan of Sorrow to his destination, as swift as the wind. Or swifter, even! The cave did not seem like much from the outside, to tell the truth. It was a hill, not a mountain (for Denmark had nothing that could truly be called a mountain), with a large hole that led into it. It was dark inside. The moon light above illuminated the night, and yet, it did not illuminate the cave itself. But it did cast light on the signs of warning that had been posted around it. In the same magic as before, understandable to Lament, yet clearly not English, they warned of the beast inside, how not to enter. The usual things for dealing with mythological monsters, really! And yet... Lament noticed something else. A raven. He had first spotted it as he was leaving the castle. Again at the forest. And now here, again, it circled overhead. He was certain that it was the same bird, not merely a different one. Whatever could its purpose be? Would he seek it out, or proceed into the cave?

GM The Minister of Misery would find his clue, behind the throne. A crudely drawn map, with almost unreadable words written. They must have been in Danish. Surely, what other language would be used here, and yet, Lament could read them. "IN THE CAVE TO THE NORTH, MY SON. FIND ME." The map showed an image of the castle, or what Lament could at least guess was the castle. To the North was drawn a castle, and to the North of that, a cave.

And a notice check!

There she was! Robin concealed a great big grin as she spotted Amber up on the stage, singing along to the music. She seemed pretty out of it, but maybe Robin could get to her anyway. She hoped she could, at least. Moving through the crowds, and doing her best to avoid any games and alcohol, if she was offered so, Robin found herself standing as close to the stage as she could, simply staring up at Amber. This close, Amber looked scared. Almost hollow. Kidd and the Wall was probably right about her being caught up with Blowfish, and that had to be a huge problem. Moving away from the stage, hoping to avoid too much attention, Robin looked around, trying to find the backstage area, while keeping an eye on Amber. She had to get to her as soon as she got off the stage.

Reflex save: 1d20+8 = 9 Ow. Toughness save: 1d20+15 = 21 Gonna spend a HP to reroll that. I think I have 2 left before doing that: 1d20+15 = 34

"I think I agree." Cassidy's response was as short as ever. Venomax had done his best, but aside from taking out Setho the moment they had the chance. Venomax's idea was sound. He would have to do that, if they got out of here. He probably could, if he wanted to. Turn to dust and sand, fly between it all, but then he would leave Venomax behind. He couldn't do that. So, out of there, as fast as they could, while keeping an eye out for any traps they had missed on the way in. But should they bring Setho? He couldn't take them all, but maybe... "Its coming down anyway. How about we just barrel through, if you can stick close to me?"

GM And so, on bare feet and with great confidence, Lament entered the ruins. There was something about them, something off. Not quite solid, not quite ephemeral. The castle was not made of just rock and wood. It was made from more than just the physical. It was made up of stories, of legends. It might not even exist in the world outside of the tales and legends. Entering through the main gate, he found himself standing in a great hall. The remains of a wooden table and chairs stood in the middle. The throne at the end, once glorious, had fallen to pieces. Stairs leading up to other rooms. There was myriad of rooms to search. Maybe, he could find a hint.
-
Alright, give me a Search check for the castle, and describe it, which might or might not give a bonus. Take any liberties with the setup, decoration and such, but it is basically a ruin.
-
It was quick, it was glorious. Everyone working in concert, everything hitting just right, and then, the Sam-thing fell, as Crystal-Gazer finally drove the demon out. "That was amazing!" Pan triumphantly shouted, directed at everyone in the room. He might have wanted to take a moment to just enjoy the victory, but really, there was no time for that. Sam had spoken of the rest of his little group, and what they had done. Who knew if anyone else could have been affected in the same way as Sam, or worse? Landing by Sam's side, Pan quickly tried tending to him. Maybe he could bring him back to the land of the talking and thinking, hopefully with a little less demonic baggage. "I honestly don't know much about what I'm doing here, if any of you wish to aid me!"

Gonna use Jack-of-all-Trades to use Medicine, and try to revive Sam. 1d20+1 = 5 And not my best roll, but Pan does his best!

No sleight of hand, I hope that a Dex check can do in place of it! 1d20+2 = 17

GM And then he stopped. Not in front of a cave. Not in front of a mountain. But in front of what had once been a majestic castle, now but a ruin. The castle of Hrothgar, once the king of Denmark. Now but a faded tale of monsters and heroes. Alas, it did not seem like Lament had reached his final destination. No such luck, but maybe the castle would hold the answers that he sought. Or maybe he would rather try again, to take a step and hope he did not go too far, or too short.

"Sure, no problem." Good thing Robin had come prepared. She didn't have a lot of cash to throw around, but if she wanted to stop Blowfish, then that was what she had to do. Digging the cash out from her wallet, she had it over to the doorman, a wide smile on her face. "Here you go, sir." She had been taught to be polite in a situation like this. So she was. The patdown probably discovered the Justice Buster, but it looked almost like a toy, so he probably didn't care about that. And it wasn't anything big, so hopefully, he would let her through. While waiting, for the patdown, she peered inside. She could hear the music, she could hear the voices. Didn't sound like Amber was on stage yet, so maybe she could make it backstage before then. If they would let her, at least.

Well, make an IC for the traveling, then you'll see results IC

Can I get a Search check to find out how well you make your way?

GM The first step was short. A normal step. The second was long. Lament found himself moving several meters with one step. By the third, he was striding across a distance that would be measured in miles. A single league, to be exact. By the fourth step, Lament was travelling as few had done for centuries, at the least. With every step he took, he crossed seven leagues. The boots on his feet, that had looked so worn and and dirty, were now shaking off the dust and dirt. The buckles were golden. The boots were stark black. They were items of magic, of wonder, as they carried the raconteur of regret across unknown lands. Faster, and faster. He saw passing lights. Cars, cities. He heard bits and pieces of conversations. Single words, parts of words. A ramble of sound, of life. But would he find his way?

Cassidy had made his choice. He was no killer, after all. The three Lemurians that had allied with them until this point made their own. And they decided to show him just that, thrusting their spears at his back. With a loud curse, Cassidy spun around, swinging the blade of sand that had previously been held at Setho's throat. He no killer, no. But he could make this hurt a lot. He did not like being hit from behind. Never again. "Keep Setho down!" he barked at Venomax. No reason to give the sorcerer a chance to hit him in the back next. A swing of the blade across the first Lemurian's chest. Enough to injure him, not enough to kill him. And hopefully enough to knock him out. Continuing the motion, he swung the flat side of the sword against the next Lemurian, hitting the side of his face, hopefully with enough force for a final knockdown, before, with one final swing, taking down the last Lemurian with a quick swing across his chest. Standing over the Lemurians with heavy breathing, he turned back towards Setho, raising the sword towards him once more. "Now, you talk. How exactly do we kill your damned flowers?"

Taking 10 on hitting the minions then!

Forever Boy Pan had never experienced Christmas before. They had various holidays and ceremonies for giving gifts back on Neverworld, but nothing quite like this. A magic man in a red suit that rode in a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer! Going across the entire world in one night, giving gifts to all good boys and girls! It was magical! Pan loved the idea, even if he had been told that it was mostly a story for children. Oh well, it was still a wonderful story! He had gone all in on the gift giving. Finding small gifts for everyone. Nothing big, it was not like he had a lot of money to go around, but still, he tried to go for some personal gifts! Flying around the Claremont, he was delivering gifts around with a smile. Some guitar strings for Micah! Polish for Belial for Nicole! A book on minerals for Alex! Santa might not be real, but Pan was doing his best to pick up the slack, flying around all over in a completely random pattern as he got to the next gift on his list. If they were home or elsewhere, he would simply leave them at their door or in their room, if let in. It was all very exciting, he was so happy and hoped to make his friends happy! And then the sky turned red and green, while Pan was in the sky above the buildings, going from one to the next. He stopped, staring. What was this, then? Festivities? Celebration? No! A giant beast, dressed like Santa Claus, appeared above them! This was no celebration! And yet, he smiled! A challenge, then! An adventure!

The stuffed parrot had not been easy to find, but Robin had managed. She still wasn't sure quite how. It had taken a lot of work, but she had managed to go through the leads that the Wall and Kidd had dug up, gone from person to person, and now, she was finally standing here, outside the Shuffled Deck. Getting all ready to try and find Amber inside. She was just about to enter. And then she had spotted Blowfish and his guards arriving. Great. Her only advantage here was that Blowfish had no idea who she was, with or without the mask on. The question was whether he would try and get to Amber before Robin did, especially with the rumors about her getting erratic and desperate. She couldn't allow that to happen, right? So, focus. She could probably bring the Justice Buster with her, but that was just part of her arsenal, right? She had managed to bring the improved Justice Driver along, and since it just seemed like a fashionable belt... well, that would be easy to bring along. So, mask off. Robin didn't like the idea of going in like that, but it was necessary right now. She didn't really frequent these kinds of places, so she honestly had no idea how to dress. A pair of jeans, a nice shirt, which showed more cleavage than she was honestly comfortable with (it had been a joke gift from a friend), and for once didn't have any logos on. A fake mole under her eye, make that the focus. A small jacket, so she could hide the Justice Buster under it. She approached the door, getting in line to enter.

"Oh, I get caught up in all kinds of moments." Pan had idly floated by, keeping pace with the platform. He was sitting in the air besides her now. They were high in the sky by now. He could see the lights below them, the great big shining city of Freedom that he had made his home for now. There was something more here, probably more to the story than Zenith was sharing, but he had no need to pry. "But I shall keep the advice in mind." He waved his hand, Pixie Dust glimmering on it for a moment. Images began appearing on the sky and clouds all around them. Great ships, flying through the sky all around them. It had been a while since he had created something this grand, but he wanted to show off a bit, since Zenith had gotten her chance before.

GM The King waved his hand. "Bah, have you no sense for tales and stories, bard? Your quest has begun, your destination is given. You will reach your goal, eventually. There might be hardships on the way, there might be nothing but a peaceful journey, but, eventually, you will find your goal." Lament could see just the faintest hint of a smile on his lips. "You are not in the mortal lands anymore. The rules of your world no longer apply!" He pointed towards the entrance that Lament had used to enter. "Now go, and bring me back my tears!"

DD was in Solid Rock Form, so Impervious Toughness 10, not insubstantial atm. Still, misses, so I'm good. Moving towards the Lemurians, and using the Sand Blade to attack the first one. 1d20+10 = 12 Gonna burn a HP to reroll: 1d20+10 = 22 DC25 Toughness save for the Lemurian, with Penetrating 10. If the Lemurian goes down, and the others are within 10 feet, I will keep going for the next one with Takedown Attack. Waiting on IC post to see how this goes.

Time and space is chaos? Not just a river? Was Setho just mad, or was there something more to it? He didn't have much time here. A choice, quick or slow. The Lemurians were coming closer behind them, and their intention was clear. They wanted to kill Setho. He was mad, he was dangerous... but what would it actually do to time and space to kill him? Would he be changing things too much? "And what do you mean by that?" Cassidy found himself almost snarling the question. This sorcerer, this snake was pissing him off. He was a drug dealer at a cosmic scale. That did not endear Setho to him in any way. But he had to know more. There was something about it, a drive for knowledge that he had never known before. "That you know what I will do? That you can foresee the future?" Perhaps it was the Mesa's influence. Perhaps he had just never experienced anything like this before. But he had to know what Setho meant.
