"Yeah. My grandmother once told me that a you never catch anything alive with dynamite. We gotta keep this quiet, and the fewer that know about this, the better." Robin knew that a lot of her grandmother's saying were weird, but they seemed to be oddly fitting for a lot of the things she was experiencing as Justice. So, the plan was set. She had to get out some leads, try and figure out where exactly Amber was staying. If she was in hiding, or if she was being paid off... heck, if she was even alive at all! It would hopefully not be that bad, but if not, they would have to go for the accountant. Hopefully Jackson would be able to keep the protest going for a bit, so they could take the time they needed.

Works for me, I'll just do a last post for this day. Gather Information: 1d20+8 = 22 Also, do you mind if I use the new update that got approved and updated for Justice from this point on? Just so I won't have to remember the old profile.

GM Mister Strix The guard struggled, but he had little chance against Mr. Strix's grip. His hands on Mr. Strix's wrists, he tried in vain to make the strange man that had suddenly appeared let go. He opened his mouth to scream, and then fell completely silent, as Mr. Strix issued his command. He enthusiastically shook his head when Mr. Strix asked if he wanted to remember him. He would answer any question, he would do anything that the stranger and his friends asked him. He was fine with that. He would do whatever they asked. Outside Ronin and Wadjet made their way inside unnoticed. The guards seemed completely occupied with what was going on up front, and it would be easy to avoid being spotted.

Strix hits, no issue there. Opposed grapple: 1d20+1 = 5 And opposed Will Save: 1d20+1 = 10 So, I'd say you get whatever you want from the guard. And opposed Notice check for the others trying to sneak in: 1d20 + 2 - 2 (from the distraction) = 3 Blind as bats!

Corrected, TA Justice @TheAbsurdist I think a few errors crept into Justice's profile with the update. PL is supposed to be 8, not 9. Strength should be: Strength: 10 (+0)/ 14 (+2) Toughness saving throw should be: Toughness: +4 (+2 Con, +2 Defensive Roll) / +8 (+4 Con, +2 Defensive Roll, +2 Protection) The Search skill goes off Intelligence in the book, so it should be Search 3 (+8) The Justice Driver device should be rank 5, and a 25 PP container: Device 5 (Justice Driver Alpha v5; 25 PP Container; Flaws: Action [Free], Hard-To-Lose; Feats: Only you can use, Subtle) [18PP] (Invention, Technology) And finally, this is the updated DC block I had put in the update: Name Range Save Effect Attack bonus Unarmed Touch DC15/DC17 Tou (staged) Damage +6 Justice Shot 50 ft. DC20 Tou (staged) Damage +11 Justice Kick Touch DC25 Tou (staged) Damage +6

"Yeah, I didn't think this was gonna be easy." Robin was at a crossroads, here. She honestly wasn't sure what would be the right thing to do, but both Kidd and the Wall seemed to have chosen her to take the lead on this, so... She had to make some kind of choice. "Right. We got no idea how long Blowfish and Jackson will be around. We gotta come up with something that won't take too long. You're right that due process with be slow and painful, which just means we gotta get something that'll make sure that Blowfish, excuse my pun, blows up in public. Something big enough that everything he got will be looked through with a fine comb." The accountant probably knew more. But that would take too long. "Do you know where the singer is? If time's an issue here, she should be out first attempt, at least. Should be faster than breaking into some heavily armed fortress, which is outside city limits."

GM The King seemed to ponder. What, indeed, could he remember of this visitor? "She was not of this world, mortal. We thought her an Elven maid, but not of my kingdom. We welcomed her as kin, and if she is indeed the thief, we were betrayed." He turned to one of the guards. "Fetch a pair of seven league boots. The mortal will need them, if he is too seek out this thief, after all." Returning his gaze to Lament, he crossed his arms. "I truly hope you are a formidable warrior, mortal. That there are more to you than meets the eye. For the thief is no ordinary Elven maid, or even Elven at all. She is the Grendel's mother! A horrible beast in her own right! But if you bring back my tears from this foul beast, I will let the children go."

Thank you, I've edited in for the henchmen. I figure it matter a little bit in that case, since they're just henchmen, and not supposed to have too many toys.

GM Lady Horus The man looked up at Lady Horus, with wide eyes. Her words seemed to help him, even as he was hesitating. "I just don't know. This is all so crazy." He turned away from her, to an old typewriter that stood on the table behind him. "Just look at this! It has fresh ink and everything! I've tested it!" he held up his hangs, smudged in ink. Then he turned to the typewriter and wrote. Everything came on the page, then, moments later, faded away. "What is this?" Doctor Thorne, Ronin and Wadjet Wadjet's distraction worked. The rioters shouted and screamed, believing that the guards had attacked. The guards approached carefully, believing that the rioters had set off some kind of weapon or gas attack. Neither side knew that it was all thanks to Wadjet. If the trio worked fast, they could enter the building while the guards were distracted. One of the doors had been left conveniently open by a surprised guard. Mister Strix It didn't take long for Mr. Strix to make his way up the building, or to find an open window, about halfway to the roof. There was a single guard inside, but at the moment, he seemed more interested in playing with his phone than actually keeping a watch out the window. The room was set up much like a standard office, with a desk with an old computer, a chair occupied by the guard. Some shelves with books. Record keeping, perhaps?

@Grumblefloof Using his Concealment, Strix can get in without much trouble. Give me a RP of how his search goes, and I'll judge if it applies to aiding the others. @Avenger Assembled@Tiffany Korta@Supercape Can I get Stealth checks, if you try to get inside without being spotted?

Oh, this demon was just annoying, was it not? They almost had it, it looked like Lulu had it on the ropes, and then it called for help. What kind of demon went and called for help from its master, when things were going South? And then it started floating above the ground, shrieking and growling, doing something to them that Pan just couldn't quite feel. What was it? That feeling? One he hadn't felt in quite some time? Oh yes, fear. Such an interesting concept. "Is that it? Trying to scare us? We Claremonters are made of sterner stuff, demon!" he quickly announced, all but oblivious to any effects the wave of fear might have on his friends. A two-pronged attack, then! Catch the Sam-thing by surprise while it was busy howling and shrieking and generally being a nuisance! The glowing pixie that had gone far around the demon that wore Sam as a pair of brand new pants turned around, flying straight at it from behind. Then, once the Pixie Blast either missed or connected, Pan focused the Pixie Dust that was by now filling the air around them from his flying, trying once more to create a set of binding bands around the Sam-thing to hinder its movements.

Forever Boy got the Fearless feat, so he's immune to all fear effects, and no need to roll. The Pixie Blast was homing, so I get a second chance to hit again as a free action this turn: 1d20+12 = 29 DC 23 Toughness if that hits. And trying a Snare again: 1d20+10 = 14 Not as lucky with that one, so I'll spend a HP to reroll: 1d20+10 = 30! Critical threat for catching him! DC 20(+5 if Crit threat is confirmed) Reflex save.

"More than me, at least." Robin admitted to Kidd with a shrug. She wasn't about to try and suggest that she knew more about Blowfish than either Kidd or the Wall, so she could just as well admit it. So, the Wall suggested a singer called Amber. Kidd suggested Blowfish's accountant. Or El Sierpe, who sounded plenty scary on his own. Going for a Mexican cartel might be a bit out of Robin's wheelhouse, so she'd probably stick to the singer or accountant, and given who Kidd and the Wall were, she was guessing she'd have to be the one to search them out, in either case. Robin sighed heavily. She would have to do all the work here, wouldn't she? "Alright, so just to be sure: We got a singer, who is probably not exactly heavily protected, and knows a lot about Blowfish, but she's a singer, and who knows if people will even take her seriously. And then we got an accountant, who will be taken very seriously, but, he's in some fortress out of town, and it will take time to get him. And won't be legal. So we won't be able to use whatever he can provide in court. Right?" She wanted to be sure she had all the nuances here, before getting involved in it. "I haven't decided on anything yet, but would this singer even be willing to talk to someone like me? I mean, I'm guessing you guys won't be doing the talking."

GM The King paused. He seemed to greatly think things through. Great thoughts, too great for any mortal to ponder, perhaps. Or maybe he was just wondering if this mortal that stood before him, that seemed to know a great deal more than he would have first believed, when he saw him, would be as capable as he sounded. "You heard the man!" The Elf King's voice boomed. Soon, an Elf appeared, carrying parchment and quill. It seemed that Lament was getting his wish. Detective work it was, then! The Elf King returned to his throne, slowly sliding into it. His body fell heavily into the tree that had been fashioned into a shape, quite unlike its natural one. "It was many moons ago, mortal. I do not know how many, to tell the truth. We had a visitor. She claimed to be a traveller, she had heard of the great shows that I commissioned, and yet... once she left, I could no longer feel the awe at the great showings. I could no longer shed tears of joy at great plays, or musical masterpieces... not even at the sight of the dance of an Elven Maiden!" He seemed to be more trusting towards Lament, now. Perhaps he could solve this mystery and save the children, after all!

Doctor Thorne's magical senses can sense a great deal of magic concentrated deep within the factory, at one of the upper floors. There seems to be something blocking her from sensing the exact type of magic, but it is old. Not exactly ancient, but old.

Also, +1 HP for very much living up to Showman so far!

Elf King Sense Motive roll: 1d20+20 = 21 Well, so much for being semi-divine!

Cassidy continued his forward motion, as Venomax smashed a rock into the sorcerer's face. He was not about to let up, even as Setho seemed down. He was pure evil. Reaching forward, he grabbed on to Setho's blood covered robe, pulling at it to bring the mad sorcerer back up to his eye level. A sword made out of sand formed in his free hand, the tip of the blade about an inch from Setho's throat. "Why? You spread those damned leaves across time. You abused the Magic Mesa's power. You tried to kill us. Give me one good reason why I should suddenly save you?"

GM "Have you now?" Charles looked over his glasses, a grin on his lips under his breath. "What an interesting story that is!" His eyes were grinning too. There was something infectious about that grin, something that could easily make Oswald grin as well. Charles motioned for the penguin. "Come now, Barney. Get to it, do your job and fetch us some tea, would you?" Barney the penguin looked up, with what Oswald could only guess was pure penguin anger. Then he slumped over, and went off to do as he was told. Oswald's host gestured in the direction of another room. "Come, then. We can go to my study and discuss why you have been searching for my menagerie, my dear Mr. Zappelius."

Edited, TA Justice First of all: Noticed an issue with Justice's skills. - Investigate and Search are at 6 ranks, supposed to be at 3, as total math shows. - Disable Device was supposed to be at 6, but had forgotten to lower that (and the total math) - That puts total skill ranks at 88, as it is supposed to be Now, for the actual update Since Justice is now at 117 PP, her PL can go up to 8! Increased Justice Driver ranks by 4 (12PP), leaving me with everything spent. PP allocation on the device below. Total PP available to spend on Justice Driver: 20PP And I'm adding the following 3 powers - Enhanced Trait 4 ("Enhanced Attack", Attack Bonus+2) [4PP] - Protection 2 [2PP] - Damage 8 ("Justice Kick"; Feats: Knockback, Mighty) [10PP] And upgrading Enhanced Stats to 8, adding Strength+4: - Enhanced Stats 8 (Strength+4, Constitution+4) [8PP] Which means all PP have been spent. Defense/Toughness tradeoff is removed with powers bought. Attack/Damage tradeoff is updated to +3 Attack / -3 Damage for the Justice Buster with powers bought, and -2 Attack / +2 Damage for Justice Kick. Fully updated profile for the above, included updated math for changed attack/damage/toughness/defense and updated DC Block in the spoiler.

So... the final piece of the puzzle: Actual proof. Just what Robin had mentioned to Kidd when they first met. Everything was coming together here. So, they either had the option of breaking and entering, or getting some from one of the "floozies", as Kidd called them. Either case, it was something illegal. Robin wasn't entirely comfortable with that. But... what was more important, then? Upholding the law, even if it meant someone like Blowfish got away, or getting the evidence needed? What was the kind of justice that she wanted to stand for? Someone like the Centurion would probably have done it the legal way, but the Raven might not have frowned on the whole breaking and entering part. She wasn't really good at either intimidating or being sneaky in general, she wanted to be the kind of hero that inspired, after all... but... she couldn't just let a bad guy get away, if they knew he had done wrong, could they? "Alright, I'm really not comfortable about plowing anyone, so how about that evidence in writing? Either of you got any clue where they might be? And anyone that might be able to get them?" She gestured at herself. "I'm not exactly dressed for stealth."

GM He paused. The Elf King was genuinely baffled. Did this man, this mortal, the Barrister of Bleak offer to help? Did he offer his aid? That a mortal could aid something far older than the very lands that stood above them? "I miss the wonder, I miss the awe! I miss the sleepless nights that I used to live for!" the Elf King thundered. "I do not weep, I do not feel! I have seen too much, I have seen too little! I can entertain no more, I take no joy in great plays! I feel no sadness for tragedies! The stories that would once move me to tears now leave me cold and still!" He stood down the heavy steps from the throne, standing right before Lament. He towered over him. He was beauty, he was nature, he was terrible and lovely, all at once. A thing as old as the void that gnawed inside the mortal man before him. "Then tell me, mortal, how can one such as you help me feel the lost in me once again?"
-
Bluff or Diplomacy roll, depending on how Lament is trying to affect the Elf King.
-
Robin shook her head. "That won't solve anything. You'll get rid of him, and then what? You'll get a gang war, you'll get people hurt. And you'll get in trouble, too." Hopefully the last part would help, at least. At least they had a plan, if Kidd and the Wall could keep their cool. "Alright, I guess I'm gonna have to call out Blowfish, then." It made sense. She was an unknown to Blowfish, so having her calling him out and provoking might work. "Any other suggestions on what we can hit him with? Anything at all?" So, this was it. Getting into public speaking now, though. Robin was sure she needed every advantage she could.
-
GM "I am the Elf King, mortal. All that I see is mine. All that I behold is mine." He stood his ground. If he knew about the thing inside of Lament, he did not show his knowledge. "Do you not understand? Do you believe that I wish to steal the tears of these mortal children? Are you that simple!?" "Can you show me another path, then? Can you show me another way to return my tears?"
