Well, Rev and Facs it is, then! I'll try and get it started today or tomorrow.
-
Robin frowned under her mask. He didn't exactly agree to her terms, but he didn't exactly disagree either. At least he seemed to want to work together with her for now. So, maybe it would be better to stick with him. At least she could try to stop him if he were about to go too far. So, that would probably be for the best. "I can agree on kicking his ass, if necessary. If we can get him and his crew to surrender, then no ass kicking." So, this was good, right? She could keep this guy from seriously hurting someone without reason, and catch the bad guys, and hopefully gets everyone's stuff back. So yep, it had to be good. Robin really wasn't as sure about this as she tried to make it sound to herself. "Right! These two," she gestured to the two thieves in front of her with her left hand, while keeping the Justice Buster aimed at the ground, "they're leading me there. Right, girls?"
-
Hm, in that case, how about Rev and Facsimile then? I'd prefer someone around PL 10.
-
The sandstorm whirled around them, but Cassidy had his eye on the price. Venomax went for the snake man, so at least they agreed on a target. He appeared from the whirling sands right behind Setho, arm drawn behind him. Finish this, quick as he can. He was vaguely aware of what Mr. Sting, Abdul and the giant snake could do. The snake man was an unknown, so he had to be taken down as quick as he could. He threw the punch, aimed directly at the back of Setho's head. The sands might be moving through him, but hopefully he would be able to have a more direct effect.

Well, I guess they would know each other, at least. Otherwise, I'm open to any suggestions for characters.

Self defense? Alright, that's one thing. While she hoped to solve all this peacefully, Robin was well aware that you'd end up in fights when you were in this line of work. She wouldn't have built the Justice Buster if she didn't. But... and this was a big but... it didn't really sound like the Gas Man was going to settle for just self defense. And knee capping someone or dropping grenades down their backside did not sound like just self defense at all. "That's nothing like poetic justice!" Robin protested. She was kind of happy that her mask concealed her face entirely, as she eyed the Gas Man's gun. "That's just excessive force. These guys just sound like thieves. Its not like they're super villains or terrorists or anything like that. If you were gonna hit them with poetic justice, then you'd be stealing things from them or something like that!" She was starting to get a bit worked up. Her first team up, and the guy turned out to be like this. Sure, you might hurt someone when fighting, but the Gas Man's plans sounded like, well, plans. Maybe she could salvage it, at least. "Alright, alright. I got an idea: If you don't use excessive force, like permanently crippling someone, then we can team up, and you can have the full bounty. How's that sound?" She didn't want to fight another super hero! Not for her first team up! That sounded way too much like a Silver Age comic!

Would Rev and Venomax work for you?

Will Save: 1d20+8 = 19 Sooo close.

Oh, so he was a hero like her? That was awesome! It was Robin's first super hero team up, even if she had never heard about the Gas Man, and the name was kind of lame. Still, she'd forgive that. A super hero team up was awesome. She almost overheard the bit about the bounty, until the Gas Man mentioned that he wasn't going to split it... and that the one that had set up the bounty wanted justice with a capital J. Now, Robin was justice with a capital J, and she might be optimistic, but she wasn't stupid. "Wait... do you mean that you're going to kill them?" Her voice wasn't trembling, but the worry in it was clear. She wanted to be sure before taking any other actions.

1. Where is your hero from? Southside, Freedom City. 2. How would your hero physically describe him/herself? Is this different from how others would? My looks are pretty average, but I've gotten pretty ripped lately. 3. Does your hero have distinguishing speech characteristics or recurring mannerisms? Nah. 4. What is your hero's motivation? I'm supposed to protect the Magic Mesa. I want to make sure what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. 5. What are your hero's greatest strengths and weaknesses? I'm made of sand. Few things can really hurt me, and I'm strong as ¤%&#. I'm really not sure about my limits, and just what can hurt me. 6. What does your hero love? What does your hero hate? I love my family, even if they bug me sometimes. I hate uncle Ben for what he did to me, and one day, I'll get him. I wouldn't say I hate 'em, but I got no patience for stuck up and pretentious people that like to just ramble on. 7. How would you describe your character's mental and emotional state? I ain't sure. I died, and I came back. Everything's been different since then. Some days I feel like I'm still in the desert with bullet holes in my body. 8. What does your hero fear the most? Letting others die. 9. What is your character's greatest ambition? Ain't sure. Keeping the Mesa safe, I guess. 10. How does your hero feel about the state of the world and his/her place in it? Its a hard world, sure. I'm gonna keep going, and I'm gonna do my best. 11. Does your hero have any prejudices? How does he/she get along with others? I hate when people get all pretentious and stuck up around me. 12. Where do your heroes loyalties lie? In what order? My family, keeping people safe, and the Magic Mesa. 13. Does your hero have a lover or partner? How do they feel about the hero now? Nope. There's this one girl that sometimes bring the goods to the store, though. 14. Does your hero have a family? What is the relationship there like? My lil' bro loves me. I've only been getting friendlier with Ma and Pops since I got back from the desert. Uncle Ben... I'm gonna get him one day. 15. How would the people closest to your hero describe him or her? A former slacker that has found his drive. 16. Is your hero a role model? I had to die to become a hero, so I'd say no. 17. How spiritual is your hero? Does your hero follow a relgious tradition? I'm not really religious, but ever since the Mesa brought me back I've started thinking more about that stuff. Especially when I'm at the Mesa. 18. Is your hero part of a team, or would he/she like to be? Why? I've always been a loner, but it might be good to find someone else that'd know about this life. 19. How does your hero feel about the place of metahumans and aliens on Earth? Got no particular feelings there. 20. If you could give one piece of advice to your hero, what would it be? Listen to your own advice: Justice, not revenge.

He didn't really know, did he? About the will of the Mesa, or if the Mesa even had a will? He had been chosen, the Mesa had spoken to him, saved him and remade him, into this man of sand? It was all just vague feelings, ideas of what the Mesa might want. He knew he was supposed to protect it, to keep people out, but maybe the snake man had been allowed in here by a predecessor? Cassidy honestly didn't really know. He was snapped out of his moment of doubt by Venomax. Even if that hadn't been his intention, Venomax's words reached Cassidy. Did it honestly matter if he knew what the Mesa wanted? This was a snake man for crying out loud, and he was talking about spreading mind expanding drugs created by mad gods. Did it really matter whether this was what the Mesa wanted? "Guess you heard him, Snake." Now Cassidy was actually happy that Venomax had come along. No clue what the snake man could do, and backup would be appreciated. "Not about to let a single other leaf leave this cave." A sandstorm exploded from Cassidy, whirling around the cave. He had thought about this trick for a while, and no seemed like the best part. His entire body dissolved into sand, riding the storm as he prepared to strike. Only he and Venomax would be unaffected by the whirling sands.

Shifting Magic Mesa Guardian array to the Sandstorm power and activating it, leaving Venomax out of the effect. Going to stealth in the sandstorm while remaining in the Insubstantial form. Stealth check: 1d20+14 = 19

Oh, IR googles! Made sense that he could see them, then! That was actually a good idea, maybe something that Robin should try and put into the armor at some point in the future. He was rather heavily armed, though. Much more so than Robin's Justice Buster, even if it wasn't really a normal gun in any capacity. If he was a bad guy, she would have to move quickly. Not like there was a lot of room to dodge a gun in here. "I already told you: I'm Justice!" Maybe he just hadn't been listening. He looked rather intense, so there was probably no reason to antagonize him. Judging from equipment alone, he would probably have the advantage in a place like this. "And yup, these girls are leading me right to him." Maybe he was a hero too? She hoped, and took a leap of faith on that one. "I don't know if these girls are with Finnigan, but they're leading me to him, at least. Lots of people got pick pocketed yesterday, so I'm trying to find everything and get it back to them, and get Finnigan and his gang to lay off on the stealing a bit. How about you? And who're you, by the way?" She ignored the comment from Orange, but still held the Justice Buster ready, in case he turned out to be a bad guy.

I'll be trying my hand at GM'ing a bit, so I figured I would start with something relatively simple to help me get into GM'ing fight scenes: A villain really wants to get the gold reserves stored in the Eastern Seaboard Bank, and it would be great if some heroes would try to stop him! I'm looking for 1 or 2 people to join, preferably with a post from each at least every other day.
-
They actually did it! And without complaining! Robin wondered if she should just bring out the gun whenever she wanted someone to do as she wanted, but it would probably set a bad example. No need to make everyone think she was some kind of crazy person that just shot everyone at random. Still, she kept the gun in hand as she followed the girls through Trumble Street. It was a bit of a sobering experience for Robin, to tell the truth. She hadn't spent much time here, and she had always thought of Emerald City as a good place to be, where no one was really wanting for anything. Not so here in Trumble Street. Here, almost every building seemed to be falling apart. She saw some homeless people obviously squatting in some of the buildings they moved through. She didn't like what she saw, but she kept silent for now, just following the two girls. She could poke them about some more info about Finnigan later, once there were no one around. And then they reached the next leg of their trip... a sewer. Of course he was hiding in the sewer. Classic bad guy tactic! Still, the smell was horrible. She might have commented once or twice during the start, but then Robin fell silent, just listening to the sounds that surrounded them as she followed the pair of thieves. She held the Justice Buster close in her hand as a voice called out to them, and the girls made it clear that it wasn't Finnigan. So, what were the options? Either it was a bad guy, maybe someone working for Finnigan, or it were someone else that were looking for Finnigan and his gang down her. At any rate, he already knew they were there. Gripping the Justice Buster with both hands and holding it by her side, Robin stepped forward. She hated not being able to see the man, but she had to do this. "I'm Justice. I'm looking for Finnigan. You wouldn't happen to know anything about him, would you?"

Lemuria? Mad sorcerer-priests? Spending millenia growing the leaves? This was the sort of thing that Cassidy did not know how to deal with. He muttered a curse under his breath as he stared at the snake man. Once, he wouldn't have believed him. It would have to be a mask, nothing could live that long, nothing could do what he had claimed. That was before his first visit to the Magic Mesa. Before he became sand. He hadn't had to deal with something like this yet, but it probably wouldn't be the first time. Before responding to the snake, he promised himself that it was time to learn more about the Mesa and everything else that he was supposed to protect. "The Mesa's had other protectors long before me. And we've all guarded it from beings that try to exploit it, just like you. Going unnoticed until now doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want." He honestly wasn't sure about this. He knew that he wasn't the first Dust Devil. Maybe his predecessor had been the first, but Cassidy kind of doubted it. Part of him wanted to go straight for the snake. Hit him with everything he had. Use that giant snake that was slithering around to beat him down, but it wasn't time yet. Even if he was new at it, Cassidy knew there had to be a certain rhytm to these things. He just had to try and keep his confidence. Let the snake man believed that he knew what he was doing. "Your leaves ain't welcome in the world. We got plenty of crazy without any of your mad gods and yellow signs. Stop spreading them, or I will stop you, one way or another."
-
Robin glanced at the Justice Buster in her hand. It did look impressive, didn't it? She was rather pleased with the effect that suiting up and pulling out the Justice Buster had. It meant that her work had been worth it. She made a quick jump down to stand on the same level as the girls. Still holding out the gun, she approached them and quickly kicked the knives away from them, just in case they got any ideas, before taking another step back and lowering the gun. "Right, you guys just stand around here and happen to try and steal from me, and then you say you didn't take anything?" She sounded a bit too happy. She should be sounding more serious, she knew that. She couldn't help it. "And hey, I can be plenty dangerous myself! I think I'll deal with him just fine!" She twirled the Justice Buster around in her hand to emphasize the last point. "So, you're gonna lead me to him, and tell me a bit more about him on the way, and then I'll let you go. Deal?" Maybe the girls had been forced to work for this Finnigan guy. They didn't really sound all that bad, after all.

I'm up for joining Dark Red Tide with Forever Boy. -
Pan didn't really listen to Echohead, even if he heard him. Someone was up to something, and this was just the first attack? Alright, not his issue right now. This guy, Facsimile, had been pretty good in the fight, and he had been hurt, and now he didn't even seem to remember anything? Still, he seemed alright aside from that, so Pan offered him a hand to stand up with a grin. "I'm Forever Boy, and I can assure you that I did none of the hitting. At least none of the hitting directed at you." He gestured with his other hand to the two defeated villains. "I'm guessing that either of these two were responsible." Whatever had happened to Facsimile, he seemed to have some amnesia. Maybe a side effect of his powers, or simply the way that his powers were shut down? "How much do you remember?"
