Ashley knew more about this than she was letting on, that much was clear, but Pan decided not to press the issue yet. At the moment, and given Judy's condition, it would be much better to follow orders of the one that might know something about what they were dealing with. So, he should try and find a book that would look like the book that brought them here, and then burn it? He looked over at Dio. The dragon could provide the fire, at least. Hopefully it would be at the statue. Otherwise, he would have to figure something else out. "Is there any hints about where the book might be? Places significant to the story in the book, or just random places? In case we have to expand our search." This was a puzzle. Pan liked to solve puzzles. After the answer, he would motion for Dio and call out for him to follow, then take off and fly off before the other group could approach. Given everything else, it might be best not to have a flying boy and a dragon around.

Everything whirled by Cassidy, faster and faster. He saw worlds and realms that he had never imagined. Places that he thought impossible. He knew the Mesa was vast. He knew it reached everywhere, and yet, he had underestimated just how much was contained in everywhere. Everything whirled by him, as he chased after Abdul. The dust chasing the smoke, through impossible tunnels and cracks, through twists and turns and mad worlds. Through darkness and light, and finally, they emerged through a tunnel into a cave. His body still a swirling mass of dust and sand, Cassidy gathered his wits before continuing. Where had Abdul led them now? Not dinosaurs again, but then what? They were not alone in the cave, at least. A short wiry man in jeans and white vest with thinning hair. A man in a costume. And finally, a giant scorpion. Because today was normal so far. They were still at the Magic Mesa. Or close to it, at least. He was sure of that. Abdul had not lead them too far away. "Where are we?" Past, present, future, sideways world? He had to know before making a decision on his next action.
-
"And if it was easy, then they wouldn't need you, would they?" Cassidy shot back. He didn't even notice the dog sized dinosaurs near them. There were more important things going on now. "Think about what you're saying! They considered the risks worthwhile? Nothing comes easy? Just who do you think you're talking to? Just how do you think I became the Dust Devil?" It had not been an easy path, no matter what Abdul thought. And then the smoke that was Abdul disappeared into the cracks in the Mesa once more, daring him to follow. This time, there were no fires to out. No leaves to ruin. The Dust Devil's sand form rushed right after Abdul at full speed. For some reason, this entire thing was starting to remind him of a book he had once read. He hadn't even thought about it for ages. Couldn't remember the title, but the writer was supposed to be famous. He could remember the start of the book, though. It had stayed with him, for some reason. And now, as he raced after the smoke, having crossed a desert to get to it, he remembered the beginning of the book once more. The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

"Ha! You can fly too!" Pan couldn't help himself. He loved flying, and now he saw that his roommate could fly too? They would have to race some day. He was brought back in the moment quick enough with Micah's theory. Echoes from Neverworld to the Earth? Or the other way around? Were they all just echoes reflected after all? Pan absentmindedly rubbed his chin with the thumb and index finger of his left hand. "Maybe?" He smiled at Micah, raising a single eyebrow. "I have heard of weirder things in Neverworld, but I don't really know enough about this world to know if it is possible." He didn't want to get too moody over this. He didn't even have the book, or any of the movies that had been mentioned. He stood up straight, gesturing with a pointed finger to the ceiling. "At least there's one good thing about this!" Pan grinned triumphantly. "I'm already famous in this world!"

"You said it yourself. You give. And you might not ask for anything in return, but you get it." Two could play at a breaking speech, Abdul. "I've met your followers. I've seen the look in their eyes. I've heard their desperation. They don't just want the leaf anymore. They need it. You've created addicts. They hang to your every word, your every action. Why do you think that is? Because you have opened their eyes to the cosmos and the world around them?" Cassidy's voice was anything but cold. It was rising, in both volume and fervor. "They're addicted, that's all. They give you the validation you need. They make you feel like you're right, like you're the one with all the answers. All for one more taste of the leaf, all for one more chance to feel good. To you, the leaf might be the answer to all your questions. To them, it is just a drug. You're their dealer. And a cheap one at that: All you need from them is their time and devotion." He paused for a moment. Dramatic effect, maybe? Cassidy wasn't sure. It was like something else was driving him. "One of your addicts attacked an innocent woman that was trying to help him, just for a chance to find a leaf. Another almost died in your car in the desert, too high to notice she was dying from dehydration. Is that the path of enlightenment you preach, Abdul?"

The Porpoise was heavy. Pan slowly managed to pull him across the floor and towards the portal. He could throw him in. It might work, would end all the danger. He could see the shadows from the portal that used to be Facsimile reaching out towards the gauntlets. It might shut them down. He was just about to do it when the woman shouted about deadly force on a captive. Pan frowned. Save everything around them, or save one villain? Really? Was that how things were in this world? Put the villains before the good of everyone else? He was just about to do it anyway, before pausing. She was right, though. Doing something like this, throwing a helpless victim to his probably death, that was something the Hooked Man or his pirates would do. Pan was better than that, wasn't he? Smarter, too. "You better be happy about this, Fishface." He kneeled by the still prone Platinum Porpoise and focused for a moment. He had done this before. It was a good trick. One that he should try and do a bit more often. Might come easier to him then. He created a golden ball of energy in his hand, much like the one that he had created for attacking earlier. Then it started to take shape, forming into a short blade of glowing golden energy. Then he put it to work, starting to try and cut the armband off. Get that off, then get it into the portal. There, problem solved.

Cassidy paused. He hadn't even thought about what Abdul was saying before now. Was he just a fool, following the will of something like the Magic Mesa, without wondering why? He looked down at his hands, made entirely of sand. He had died. He knew that. Uncle Ben had shot him, and he had passed, but the Mesa reached out, and he had returned. But looking at himself, Cassidy couldn't help but wonder... what was he? He was a man built on a foundation of sand. Was he even a man? He was blindly following, that much was sure. At least until now. He steeled himself. This was much too soon to give in to Abdul just because of words. He was here for a reason. He could figure the rest out later. "Sure, you can see it all. You've seen the past and the future, all the others weird worlds and places that the Mesa leads to, and because of that, you think you know everything? You think you're changing the world for the better? And I'm just the one blindly serving?" "Nah, I don't think so. Look at what that Snake is making you do. You're nothing but a drug dealer on a greater scale. That's all you are, a dealer that started using from your own stash."

Theme: The Moment - Miracle of Sound ft. Karliene Alternate Identity: Robin Lynne Langley (Secret) Birthplace: Emerald City Residence: University Hill, Emerald City Base of Operations: University Hill, Emerald City Occupation: PhD Student at Emerald City University, Tech Support Affiliations: None Family: Anna (mother), Lucas (father), Lucas Jr. (2 years older brother), Mark (20 years younger brother), Dottie (paternal grandmother) DESCRIPTION Age: (DoB: 1997 [April 1st]) Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5'5'' Weight: 125 lbs. Eyes: Green Hair:Dark brown Robin is slender, her body honed by years of gymnastics. Her dark brown hair reaches her shoulders and is almost always worn loose. She has green eyes and wears glasses. She will usually dress casually, preferring t-shirts with prints or logos of cartoon characters, dragons and so on. As Justice, Robin wears a dark red suit with her Justice Driver belt. The upper body part of the suit has a tall collar with bright pink trim, which connects to a pink zipper that goes to Robin's right shoulder and down over her right breast to the center of her belt. She has a classic, heraldic lion in pink over her left breast, using it as a logo. Her sleeves end in bright pink trim at her wrists, while she wears grey gloves that leave the back of her hand bare, with a pink trim in a square shape. She wears light grey boots that ends about halfway up her lower leg in a W-shape, with the trim and soles being bright pink. To protect her identity, she wears a dark red domino mask with white lenses, in the same color as the costume. Activating the Justice driver causes her armor to appear: A dark red suit with purple-pink power lines running up the arms and down the legs from the belt buckle of the Justice Driver belt, with grey metal plating on the chest and shoulders. Her arms and legs are wrapped in dark grey and purple armor, with similar armor plating as the chest area. Her helmet has silver armor plating on the side and two small antenna on top, and a silver armor plate over her mouth, with large purple-pink one-way lenses over her eyes. Robin has also added red scarf in a brighter color to the rest of the armor. HISTORY Robin Lynne Langley has lived in Emerald City her entire life, always wondering why she lived in the one city that didn't seem to have any super heroes at all. Still, she loved heroes of all kinds, and if she couldn't find them by staring up at the sky, she would find them in comics and on the screen. When he older brother Lucas Jr. introduced her to the world of Japanese Tokusatsu, she was sold, even going as far as starting gymnastics due to her inspiration. Growing up, she kept her dream of really seeing heroes alive, Robin eventually decided that one day, she would be a hero. Eventually enrolling at Emerald City University, she sought out any class, course or knowledge that could help her in her goal, ending up with a rather varied curriculum, only broadening her knowledge of science in particular. She was only emboldened by the appearance of the Emerald Spider. Finally, using a combination of her own funds and components made available at the university, Robin created the first version of her Justice Driver and Justice Buster, setting out into Emerald City to become a hero. Since her debut, Robin has faced gangs of thieves, monsters, super natural threats and much more. She has been gifted her grandmother's amulet, that she once used as the super hero Miss Step, allowing her to access Z-Space, where she has established headquarters in an abandoned structure, though not going unnoticed by other inhabitants. She has worked through multiple iterations of her armor, finally settling on a modular design. Faced with the knowledge that MarsTech had stolen her designs to create the Ultio Suits and that Max Mars himself had discovered her identity, Robin put out the call to the heroes of Emerald City. Gathering together, the group has started to work against Max Mars and MarsTech, Justice has been thrust into a leadership role that she never expected to find herself in. PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION Robin is a dreamer. Anything is possible if you have the will and make your own means. Intellectually gifted and curious, she will pursue anything that strikes her fancy. A great fan of super heroes, she has been disappointed at the lack of any prominent heroes in Emerald City, which is part of her reason for deciding to become a hero herself. The other part is her great love of Japanese Tokusatsu shows, which has inspired the technology she uses. She is idealistic, usually willing to give almost anyone the benefit of doubt, but can be surprisingly ruthless in combat. Having grown more confident in herself, Robin has begun learning what it means to be a hero. She has faced tough decisions and battles, reacting by continuing to update her armor and arsenal. POWERS & TACTICS Robin will usually try and talk her opponent into surrendering at first. Otherwise, she will engage using her arsenal and any other gadgets she has managed to bring along. She will usually switch rapidly between weapons, using whatever the situation calls for, while creating portals to Z-Space to exchange other bits and pieces of her modular armor while in action. A favorite trick is to activate her smoke in an area around her, then shift to her visual enhancements, allowing her to see through the smoke, while her enemies are left unable to see her. POWER DESCRIPTIONS Robin posses no innate powers. All her abilities come from gymnastic skills or technology she created herself. After several different battle suit iterations and design philosophies, including her prototype suit and using a number of different armors for different situations, Robin has finally settled on a modular armor design, using her grandmother's amulet, now incorporated directly in the new and improved Justice Driver belt. The amulet is a large light purple, almost pink, round stone, normally hanging from a necklace. Unknown to Robin, her grandmother had used the amulet's ability to access Z-Space as the 70'es super hero Miss Step. Unaware of the amulet being magic, rather than just a great source of energy and a way to reach Z-Space, Robin continues to use it as her power source. The newest iteration of the Justice Driver belt houses both an utility belt, able to access a multitude of Robin's inventions, and access to the Justice Armor. By activating the Justice Driver through inserting her grandmother's amulet, and using the keyword "Henshin", Robin expands the under armor from the Justice Driver belt, while simultaneously summoning the rest of the armor. While the armor's actual appearance seems more or less unchanged since the last iteration, everything underneath, both hardware and software, has been changed greatly, utilizing 4 systems that Robin has created. Together, they utilize the power source in the amulet in a fine balance, driving precisely the amount of power needed for each task. The principal system used by the armor is the Rapid Intervention Defense and Emergency Response (R.I.D.E.R.) system . The R.I.D.E.R. system provides base enhancement to the wearer's physical strength, while offering protection and computer assistance to the wearer's reflexes and combat skills. The Modular Output Defense system (M.O.D.) , was designed to offer variable speed and protection in combat. By rapidly altering the armor plating on the suit, the wearer can quickly switch between slow, but heavily protected armor, or fast, but not quite as formidable armor, or anything in between, adapting to fit the situation as needed. While the process is quick, it is possible to interrupt it during combat, which leads to Robin prefering an armor setting for the M.O.D. system as combat starts. To improve her mobility in combat, Robin designed the Multivariable Outrageous Virtous Extension (M.O.V.E.) system. By using rocket boosters housed in the boots, Robin can either propel herself forward in great leaps or move at incredible speeds for brief periods of time. The system also enhances the wearer's carry weight, due to the various support structures needed in the armor to make sure the rocket boosters caused her no harm. Alternatively, by diverting energy from the rocket boosters, Robin can attach heavier, bullet proof armor. Whereas the other systems are rather rigid in their design and utility, the Interactive Dynamic Expansion Application system (I.D.E.A.) contain a great number of different gadgets and tools that Robin developed for the armor, connected by using the same power source from the armor. While the list of tools in the I.D.E.A. system is ever expanding, it so far contains enhanced visual options and, allows Robin to use her grandmother's amulet to create portals to Z-Space, allowing her access to the AnneX, or to summon different armors parts and weapons. Finally, Robin has begun using what she has dubbed her Z-Space Arsenal. By rapidly creating portals to the AnneX in Z-Space, Robin is able to swiftly exchange the weapons she need during a battle. While she has a number of plans for how to expand her arsenal, it currently includes the Shock Blaster, a one-handed gun that fires small bullets that give off a powerful electric shock on impact, the Rocket Hammer, a two-handed battle hammer that further enhances the force of its blows with quick bursts of the jet booster attached to it and Smoke Grenades, which releases a thick, obscuring smoke when activated. Both the Shock Blaster and Smoke Grenades can be tossed through Z-Space Portals to arrive from any position near their target. Outside of the external arsenal, she retains her signature Justice Strikes, where she redirects power from the armor into powerful motors in her legs or arms, allowing her to strike with incredible force. To combat the ever growing threats of Emerald City, Robin has developed Heuristic Emergency Response Operator mode, or H.E.R.O. mode, an alternative battlesuit. While the H.E.R.O. mode armor is more powerful, drawing directly on energies from Z-Space, it is designed solely for combat, with little utility outside speed and pure power. COMPLICATIONS Family: Robin's family is generally unaware of her activities as Justice, but can all be used against her if a villain were to find out. Fangirl: Robin is a big fan of super heroes. Meeting a famous hero can give her pause, or at worst go into complete fangirl mode. Friend In Need: If given a situation where she can stop a villain or save someone, Robin will always try to save another person first, even if it might not be the smartest action. Modular Armor Problems: It can take time to change the amount of armoring, allowing Robin to shift between defense and speed. If the GM determines that a situation is too chaotic, they can prevent changes in PP allocation for the M.O.D. systems array, giving Robin 1 HP instead. Motormouth: Robin likes to talk. A lot. She can just keep going if she wants to, and doesn't always know when to not explain something. Secret Identity: Robin tries to keep her identity as Justice a secret. So far, only her grandmother Dottie knows. Superhero 101: For all her good intentions, Robin is rather new to the game, and a lot of her understanding of super heroics comes from movies and tv shows. Not all of this knowledge will necessarily translate to real life. So, Abdul was disappointed. He wanted to impress Cassidy, to bring him over to his side, whatever side that was. It didn't matter. He wasn't here to join a time travelling drug dealer. He was here to stop this, before Abdul's leaves spread, and before he misused the power of the Magic Mesa further. He looked once at the dinosaurs, and the world around them. Yes, it was beautiful, but he rarely thought about the world like that. He hadn't bothered before, and he wasn't going to now. Not in a situation like this, at least. The cloud of sand took on a more humanoid shape, while looking straight at Abdul's smoke form. "I already told you who I am. That should tell you why I'm here." Of course, Abdul had guessed right, and Cassidy could lie, but he had made his intentions clear already. Changing the story now wouldn't do him any favors. "I will find the Snake. And I will stop both of you. Simple as that."

Pan did indeed not get the reference, but he just shrugged and smiled. This was just something he would have to get used to. Lots of Earth culture to absorb and participate in. His smile widened as his roommate spoke about having always having dreamt of flying. Now there was a common thread! They should go out and fly together some time! Explore the city and the world, see what kind of trouble and adventure they could find! Maybe on another day. Micah wasn't the first to mention the book, or the movies. Elizabeth had done so earlier, and truth to be told, Pan was curious. Just what were the relation of those tales? His smile faded for a moment before returning. "I actually just learned about Peter Pan today from some of our classmates. And you're not the first to tell me the older cartoon isn't great." He floated over to his bed and sat heavily on it. "To be honest, I would love to read the book. From what I've been told, there seem to be a lot of things that seem like my world, and not just the name of the title character." He leaned back, lying down on the bed and staring up at the ceiling. "It's weird. I only just got to this week a few weeks ago, and I'm still not sure what happened. But maybe that book will have some answers."

Electromagnetic absence didn't mean much to Pan, but the rest of Leroy's explanation clued him in, at least. So, nothing electronic seemed to be working. It wouldn't be much of a problem for him, but Judy seemed scared, and that was a good enough reason to find a way to get out of this dead zone fast. "Right." he nodded at Leroy's question about helping him take a look around, and after looking at Judy and Ashey and offering another apology, he set off, quickly ascending into the sky. It didn't take him long to get to a comfortable height where he could scout the island. There wasn't much to see on the island. Trees, hills, some ruins. Water that surrounded them. The area around them was much more exciting. It looked like some kind of harbor, almost like those back home, even if it was in bad shape, and the island was in the middle of it. Maybe Dio would be able to carry those that couldn't themselves, or Pan and Leroy could take turns... What was that in the water? Pan strained to see. He was right. A ship was approaching, and at speed as well. It looked exotic. Nothing like what Pan had seen back in Freedom City. He had seen pictures of vessels like it on Neverworld, but never seen one before. For once, he thought it better to actually think things through. He pointed out the ship to Leroy, making sure not to shout, before rapidly descending to the others to tell them the news. No sense in alerting the people on the ship to their presence, if they hadn't already been spotted. He quickly landed by Ashley, Judy, Jack and Adam, crouching a bit to brace his body from the impact. "There's a strange ship heading our way. Was too far away to count how many."

"You're crazy." Maybe not the best comeback, but Cassidy was sure there were more to Abdul's ranting than just the effect of the leaf. His sand form moved closed to Abdul's smoke form. They wouldn't be able to do much to each other, but creating a sandstorm might have some effect on Abdul's smoke form, if necessary. So he had that plan, at least. "I've heard about Atlantis, somewhere out in the ocean. But being around at the same time as dinosaurs? Don't be ridiculous." You had to admire Abdul's drug business on some level. He wasn't content with just peddling normal drugs. No, he went to the past to get them. How could he even do something about this? Would stopping something in the past while time travelling even matter? It probably depended on how well Abdul could control his travels through the Mesa. He would figure that out later, once he found the supplier. "Stop stalling. Where is the Snake?"
-
Abdul had to be joking. If he had visions of this, a world of dinosaurs, then why would he even go here? Hadn't he ever watched Jurassic Park? Abdul was smoke, and Cassidy was dust, and yet, a pair of nearby dinosaurs noticed them. Not that Abdul's exclamation had helped keep them hidden. Cassidy knew little of dinosaurs, and he wasn't sure what would happen if one of them actually managed to take a bite out of him while he was like this. He wasn't really anxious to find out. For what would probably not be the first time, Cassidy wondered if he should have tried to take out Abdul at the top of the Mesa, even if he needed to find the supplier. As they were, he wouldn't be able to do much against him. Instead he let the whirling sand that made up his self drift a bit further away from the dinosaurs, as he waited for Abdul to make his move.

Starting simple, with just cheese? But what else made up a burger? And Pan liked to try many things at once and get a proper adventure out of it. Elizabeth's suggestions sounded great. He wasn't quite sure what everything was, but if the special sauces were special, then then had to be great, right? He nodded thoughtfully at Abigail and Elizabeth's suggestions. They were right. He was lucky to be able to try something for the first time, at least something that they all took for granted. "But starting simple is not how I do things. Tell me, what makes the best burger for you! Then I will make sure to try that first!"

So that was how it felt for others when he turned to dust. At least Abdul running meant that he had something to follow. No more questions, just a chase. He could do that. First he created a small sandstorm around himself, enough to put out the smoke and probably ruin those leaves. No reason to leave this behind. Turning to sand, Cassidy then followed Abdul into the cracks. The sand that made up his body shifting and turned, sliding through the cracks in the Magic Mesa with purpose. Moving quickly, he descended into the depths of his place of power. If there was something in here creating this poison, he would destroy it.
-
Cassidy could feel his anger bubbling. There was something about Abdul being here, and how he spoke about the Magic Mesa that just pissed him off. Did he speak in metaphors or actual truths? When it came to the Mesa, it could all be true. He would be better off taking it at face value, instead of trying to guess anything. While Abdul rambled, Cassidy remained silent, right until the point where he stood up. "I'm the Dust Devil. If you know anything about the Mesa, then you know what that means. Now you will tell me exactly where that snake is." He was done with all the cosmic ramblings. First the rich kid, then the woman, now Abdul. He had to get to the end of the line.
-
So, this was what it was going to be? A rambling conversation with a guy that might be high out of his mind, or might just be messing around with something really dangerous. Cassidy looked down at Abdul. He hadn't moved, he hadn't been shocked at all to see a man appearing out of the sand. That was a first. At least he gave the most coherent description of the leaf and what it did, if it wasn't just hyperbole. Eyes open to the cosmos, beautiful visions... Cassidy knew he hadn't been the Dust Devil for a long time, but that honestly didn't sound like anything good for the rest of humanity. "Not here. This is not your domain." Cassidy finally replied. His voice was deep. Deeper than he had intended it to be. And his words weren't quite his own. "Who is your supplier? What is that leaf?" Cassidy had to know what he was dealing with, then he could get Abdul away from here.

Pan shook his head. He honestly didn't mind. He liked telling about Neverworld, and he missed his home. Still, no reason to let that show too much. More important things in the world than home sickness. Like friends and adventure! "That's a brilliant way to think of it! Saving people and having adventures is what life is all about, isn't it? And if your relative got control, then I'm sure you'll learn it soon!" He floated around in the room a bit, without really thinking about it. He couldn't help himself, he got excited. "I'm from a place called Neverworld. It's amazing. There's adventure to be found everywhere! Pirates, natives, pixies! Flying ships and roaring seas!" He pauses for a moment, a brilliant smile playing over his lips at the memories of his adventures. "To be honest, I'm not quite sure how I got here, but now I'm here, so I can just as well make the most of it and try to find a new adventure."

Even if he hadn't been back to the Magic Mesa since becoming the Dust Devil, Cassidy could find his way around with ease. Everything around him was warped, but it was how it was supposed to be, after all. The Magic Mesa was more than just magic, and, somehow, he was supposed to be the protector of all this. Even for Cassidy, navigating the Magic Mesa required concentration. It was a beautiful sight, but also haunting in its own way. In time, he reached the top of the Mesa, and there he saw a man. It had to be Abdul. He was strange to see anyone else here, at the top of the Mesa. No one was supposed to be here, and especially not someone what Abdul was doing now. More of those damn leaves. Did they come from one of the other places that could be accessed at the Mesa? If they were some otherwordly drug, then that would explain a lot. He could just strike, but he wanted answers, too. And to find a way to keep Abdul from returning. At least Abdul didn't seem to have noticed him yet. Cassidy materialized from the sand on the opposite side of the small fire from Abdul. His arms were crossed as he looked down at the man. "You shouldn't be here, Abdul." Who knew? Maybe calling him out by name might help.

"Yes, it is! There's just so many people!" Pan couldn't contain himself. He started floating off the ground, just a few feet, but it was noticeable. The golden dust fell from him, disappearing before it hit the floor. He drifted to the window and looked out at the city. It was getting dark, and the lights were on. He could the call to adventure, just waiting for him to join it, but he had promised to behave when he was allowed into the Academy. He had to try to last at least a day. Pan nodded to Micah's comment about mastering himself. "Makes sense. It sounds like you're rather powerful. It is great that you're trying to master abilities like that. I have seen people with great power and little mastery create great tragedies before."

So, she is with Abdul. No falling out, just being left behind after doing what Abdul had told her. She was getting better, but she was still not completely out of her high. She had water now, and with some luck, she wouldn't get up to any other trouble. He turned to sand as he said just a few more words. "The cosmos want you to live. Go home." At the last syllable he turned completely to sand, and let the wind spread him away. With some luck she would think he was just a part of her hallucinations and would go on her way. If not... well, then he would deal with that. Hopefully his lack of foot prints left behind would help sell his bluff. At least he knew where Abdul was supposed to be. Gathering himself into a humanoid form a short distance away, Cassidy kneeled in the sand and travelled once more, this time directly to the Mesa itself. Time to find Abdul.
-
Just great. Abdul had gone to the Mesa. And he was finding something even stronger than the leaf. The woman was working with him after all, and spouting more gibberish, just like the rich kid had. If this had to do with the Mesa, then this was going to be worse than just some street drugs. Magic and worse would be involved. He probably didn't have long, but he had to know if the woman was still on Abdul's side or they had a falling out. He couldn't just abandon her here, no matter what. "So why did he abandon you here?"
-
Cassidy gently placed the woman in the car, making sure she was in a sitting position, before he went to investigate the car's boot. His eyes first focused on the leaf. How many of these things did Abdul bring? They couldn't be that important to him if he were willing to just leave them behind like this. First, Cassidy grabbed the leaf and carefully placed it with the other. If he were going to do something other than just punch Abdul out, he would need evidence. The leaves would have to do. Then, he grabbed the water bottles, before returning to the woman. "Here. Drink." He was uncomfortable about this. He couldn't leave her behind here. He might be able to make it through the desert, but there was no telling if she could. And she would slow him down. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" He paused for a moment. "And where is Abdul?"
