  1. GM "The doctor doesn't fix people," the girl says, looking up at Gamma Buzz as she speaks. She still seems vary of him. "Just turns them into... whatever. I guess that's why he needs this, right?" She holds up the tablet. "I dunno," she says, turning to Timeout. "I saw a couple of weird looking bug-people or something. Dunno why he wanted me." She looks surprised for a moment. "I... I don't think I remember anything before I woke up there a while ago."
  2. Spaceman "Sidekicks?" Parker asks, looking back at Baz with a smile. "Really?" The girl's words gotta sting for Baz, but if she reacts like that, then what is this mysterious doctor doing to people? Parker kind of doubts that he is fixing them, if he's doing that to them.
  3. Spaceman For a moment, Parker actually believes the woman in purple, and then he is sent smashing through the concrete and steel by a powerful blast. That was... that was not what he expected would happen. He had been caught off guard. Either that, or she could somehow affect the forces that he could control too, or... He has no idea, honestly. It doesn't matter. He's not hurt. The building might be, but... He can sense the others around him. Michael, Carmen and Consuelo, all suited up and, three others dressed somewhat like the woman in purple that hit him? And then the girl in purple comes flying in and introduces themselves and wants to start a fight. "Wait!" Parker holds up his right hand as he gets up on one knee, before standing up fully. "We don't have to fight. I'm not about to let you hurt that whale, but we can talk things through. No one has to get hurt, no one has to go to juvie or anywhere else, just... Let's calm down and talk things through, please." He really hopes it will work. If they can get these girls, the Starblights, to come to Claremont as students or at least not be bad guys... it would be much better than having to fight them.
  4. Spaceman's initiative: 5 Oh well. I'll keep up with him acting later. Remember, any ally that steps close enough to Spaceman can get me to Interpose in case of a bad hit.
  5. The STORMCROW Charlie grins at Michael's comment about a consistent villain. "Exactly. Then you end up like Shields, instead of just trying to stop him. If it happens, it happens. If not? Then don't try to force it." Look at him, giving sage advice here, when he's still just learning how to do everything himself. "And, y'know, I should probably tell you something like making sure to not overdo it, and not get into more trouble than you can handle and call for help and all that, but... it's not like that's ever worked for any teen heroes, has it?"
  6. The STORMCROW Charlie is dressed in black panths and a black t-shirt, with a black cap. Colors to blend in nicely and hide his hair. He's obviously prepared, as he checks out the gun that he has chosen for himself, a simple hand gun that isn't anything too fancy. Where would the fun be in that, after all? "Hey, Shift... could you... un-integrate that?" Charlie asks, quickling nodding towards some of the people working at the laser tag arena. "It's cool and all, but we're trying to stay under the radar here, y'know." It's damn cool, but maybe if they set something up back at the mansion like this? Once everyone is there and ready, he lays out the plan. "So! I thought we could all have some fun, if you're game? Do something other than hang out at the mansion and get into big fights. Sooo..." he pauses to spin the gun around on his finger. "We need two teams. Who goes with who?"
  7. GHOST "Nice. Really nice," Ghost says, as they appear from the teleportation pad. He always get such a weird tingling sensation whenever he teleports. Like static electricity all over his skin. He is in full costume. Of course he is. Velocity might have revealed herself to the rest of the whole hero scene, but he doesn't quite feel like he's there. Not yet, at least. Still, the Lighthouse. First time he's here. And it is really nice. Way above his usual stomping grounds, at least. "You can choose where you want to start, kid," he says to Heroditus. Really, it's better to let the kid choose here, and he's honestly fine with either.

Spaceman Maybe splitting up from the rest wasn't Parker's best idea, but at least the bad guys seemed to be splitting up too, and more importantly, this means that he can at least help the whale. Sneaking up on her would be the smartest option, take her down before she knows what is happening, but... No. It doesn't feel right. Instead, he emerges from the ceiling and focuses on decreasing the distance between his molecules. Now in full costume, he folds his arms in front of his chest and calls out to the woman. "Stop that, or I will have to stop you." His voice is calm and even, but he is honestly not sure what is doing.
  9. Space Ranger III "Well then, what are we waiting for?" J'onn asks, looking away from the two Star Knights to focus on the controls instead. No time like the present to get into trouble, he steers the Star Lance down, closer towards the asteroid. "Do you see anything? I've got all power re-routed to shields and speed, but I can switch powers to the blasters if we need it."

A Saturday in the middle of January, 2024 A nice and cold day with a clear sky, in one of the nicer neighborhoods in Bayview Charlie had promised to be in touch after the Young Guardians had dealt with the Conqueror Worm. That had not gone entirely as planned, but then again, he hadn't really planned on revealing he was back until he found out what was happening to Muirne. And hey, they had found Ghule like that, so... win/win, right? So, Charlie had kept in touch. Texting, letting the others know something was coming up, and then, a few days ago, he asked everyone else to come meet up here. Shift of course already knew. She had been helping him set all this up, after all... and it was finally ready. He is standing in front of the door of the stately mansion, wearing a thick winter jacket, though he keeps it open. He honestly can't wait to see what the others have to say about all this. Sure, they might not all have forgiven him for just disappearing like he did, but this will hopefully help. "Soooo... I know the others aren't here yet, but what do you think of the place?" he asks Bernie, turning to look at her with a grin. He hadn't told her exactly what it was for yet. He wants to surprise her too.

  13. The STORMCROW "Yeah, Bernie told me about that. Can't say I've had the pleasure of meeting Quirk, but I've looked him up. Seems like he's been more active lately." Quirk is not someone that Charlie would like to face, if he can help it. Impossible to plan for, you just have to play along until he's satisfied. "But Quirk sounds more like a short term problem. You unite, deal with him once, then you're done, right? Something ongoing helps, some kind of mission, right?" Casanova, though? That was something more. Charlie grows more serious, at least for a moment. "Casanova's name is Sebastian Shields, he used to be a student at Claremont that started the year before me, and he really wanted the spotlight. Started a team with some other students and went around fighting crime. Only thing was, Casanova got mind control power, so he got people to do the crimes they stopped." Charlie pauses. That's probably the extent of what he should share. "So, he went out and caused more trouble after leaving Claremont. Once I got back in town, I got everyone together again and we stopped him."
  14. GM Toxin yells as she throws herself into the mass of Shift that is holding onto the Conqueror Worm, keeping him held down for now, and places a burning hand on his shoulder. Toxins rushes through his body, and... they do nothing. The Conqueror Worm smiles. He pushes back against Shift. "Little thing of metal and lightning. I will wear you as an armor." He is strong, but Shift is built strong as well. He is unnerving, still. Ghule's blow cuts into the masses, taking the mind controlled Puppets down with her blows, but they are never ending, swarming into the building, flailing, kicking, punching, biting and doing anything they can to hurt the heroes that try to keep them away from the Conqueror Worm. And Sebastian Shields looks upon the events that he set in motion with horror in his eyes.
  15. DC30 TOU save: 30 That's just enough to get weaken them, which lowers the DC of the attacks that they make as a horde. Toxin goes for the Conqueror Worm: 13, which actually hits because of Shift's grapple! Unfortunately, she tried to use her Stun attack, and the Conqueror Worm is immune to Fort effects. Casanova does nothing. The Conqueror Worm tries to break the grapple: 34 Well, that was a bad roll, but let's see if @Heritage can't roll higher than that to maintain the grapple, given all the available bonuses. The Puppets are kept away from the Conqueror Worm so far, but everyone that are currently fighting them (that would be everyone but Paper, Ms. Scorpion, Stormcrow, Shift, Casanova, Toxin and Chump) give me a DC19 Reflex Save, followed by a DC24 or DC19 TOU save, depending on whether you make it or not.   16. GM The kid looks around at the three young heroes, especially staring at Gamma Buzz up on the wall. She seems hesitant. "Ye-yeah," she says, finally mustering up the courage to respond. She glances over at Thesaurus Rex, still frozen in time. "The doctor keeps us all locked up, wants to use us for something... and I think this controls his generator? He got real mad when I broke out and stole this, and then Thesaurus came after me and..." She stops, falling silent. "Did he get you, too? Since you're looking like that?" she asks, looking up at Gamma Buzz.
  17. Spaceman "It's alright, calm down," Parker says. "I'm going to let go, but please don't run away, alright?" He waits for a moment to make sure the kid listens, then lets go and steps back, hands held up to show that he isn't trying to grab the kid again. "See? We're here to help. Timeout stopped the dinosaur. Gamma Buzz is just keeping an eye on him from up on the wall, and I'm Spaceman. Just calm down, and we'll do our best to help you."
  18. The kid appears to be the correct temperature of a kid. The tablet appears to be a tablet, but with a roll that high, I'll add in something extra: Booting it up, it seems to control some other piece of extra technology that is at least labelled as an Anti-Matter Generator.
  19. The STORMCROW Michael has given this a lot of thought. Maybe as much as Charlie first did, aside from the bit about doing something else. The super heroics is what he wants to do, but of course, it's not like everyone can have the kind of backing that he does. "Pretty much. Having something or someone to rally against can help with team cohesion too. I'd say we were lucky to have Casanova and his team around, but that would be morbid."
  20. Spaceman Parker stares at Consuelo for a moment as she thrusts her fist into the air. He looks almost embarrassed for a moment, before he looks around to make sure that no one is watching. "I... have mine." Everyone else is running, no one is watching, and besides, it's not like they would recognize him any way. He reaches for his dress shirt and pulls it open, revealing the white, black and gold costume underneath. His armbands and belt is in his backpack. Maybe he should do something about that. "I'll go ahead and see what is going on." Mid change, he disappears into the floor beneath them, changing as he flies through the building towards the whale.
  21. Spaceman "Yeah that is... exactly what's being done in most places." But not at Powers Holdings, who have in fact been experimenting with other sources of energy... including super conductors. Parker hasn't told anyone here just who his parents are, or about the company. Not aside from an off hand mention here and there, nothing that has made anyone show any particular interest. Lawrence probably knows, from some of the wealthier circles they have been in together, past parties and all that, and others might have guessed or looked him up. "No promises, but I might be able to help with that. I'm sure my parents won't mind."
  22. Spaceman This is... relaxing. Surprisingly so. A very normal assignment, not something that requires that Parker punches hard light holograms or worry about ethics. Just a regular assignment. Well... an assignment where he gets to play with otters. Now that's a definitive plus. He's having a good time. At least until the alarm. And then... the alarm, and screams and... "Was that a whale?" Parker asks. How could they even hear it here?
  23. Space Ranger III Luck. Pure dumb luck. That's the only reason that they even know about the incoming asteroid in time to try to do something about it. For all the time that they have spent rebuilding, for all of J'onn's grandfather's warnings and stories, they never once considered the danger that could from from outer space. "The Star Lance doesn't even have the right tech to scan for that," J'onn responds to the Star Knight. A Star Knight from Earth... now wasn't that something? "We appreciate you coming to give a hand. The parliament told me to bring their thanks." He pauses briefly, looking at the screens of the Star Lance, showing the asteroid. "So, how are we gonna do this?"
  24. GM Shift crashes into the Conqueror Worm, her limps wrapping around him. There is a deathly chill around him, one that even she feels. It is as if it cuts into her very soul, or whatever else she might believe that she has. Her limps wrap around him, ensnaring him, but even then, he resists. For one so thin and pale, almost devoid of life, the Conqueror Worm is surprisingly strong. And he smiles still, as Shift manages to lay him low.
