ic Ghosts and Grimalkins: Halloween Horror Nights
RocketLord replied to RocketLord's topic in Parkside
GHOST "Hey, don't worry about it. We didn't have any serious plans or anything, right Lynn?" Casper says with a shrug, as he pushes Carrie down while she tries to drag him off by the arm. "Just, y'know, doing that part time job." Their old codeword for going out patrolling. Carrie still doesn't know anything about him being Ghost, of course, and Casper's pretty sure that Jessie's figured out that Lynn is Grimalkin. They have been seen together a lot when masked, after all. "Home by 9, right?" Casper asks, earning him a loud "DAD!" from Carrie. "Yeah, yeah, 11. Don't worry, we'll have a blast." With a last goodbye to Jessie, they head out. "I hope it's still alright with you, Lynn. I couldn't leave Carrie without a chance to go out and earn some candy, right?" -
GM Evening, Thursday October 31st,2024 A fancy apartment building in Parkside, Freedom City "I really appreciate you doing this on such notice, Casper," Jessie says from the couch, her resting on top of it. Normally, she was fine, but today Jessie Taylor Wilson had the worst luck of her life. Everything had just seemed to go wrong. Dropped her favorite cup by accident, stepped on the cat's tail, scratched her car, and so on, and finally, she had fallen and sprained her leg. It wasn't too bad, but she had to rest, which meant no going out trick or treating at the big event at Liberty Park for her daughter Carrie. Carrie had her own idea, of course. Call in her dad, and get him to go with her. Jessie had hesitated a bit. They're on good terms, the split was (mostly) amicable, but still... he might have plans. As it turns out, those plans weren't anything that he wouldn't drop to take his 10 years old daughter trick or treating, and he had brought his girlfriend, Lynn, who Carrie absolutely adored. The plan is set for Halloween, then, as Carrie, dressed up as Lady Liberty, eagerly waits for her parents to stop talking so they can go already.

ooc for this. @Poncho, @Supercape, @The Sailor, @Ecalsneerg Feel free to make up super powered wrestlers you spot. And Baz is free to walk around, given the number of super people around already.

GM Afternoon, Wednesday November 13th,2024 The Schuster Auditorium, Hanover, Freedom City Now, as far as coach Armstrong is concerned, Violet Squad is in for a treat, being chosen to be the squad to join him for an incursion to Schuster Auditorium to the Ultimate Wrestling League exhibition. The somewhat rough and tumble coach, not always a hit with the students, though he proclaims that he is only acting as he is to toughen them up, is, of course, not using this as an excuse to have Claremont pay for his ticket, no. This is all for the sake of the students. "Now, isn't this excitin', kids?" he proclaims, as he stops near the entrance after having lead the squad inside the auditorium, which is filled with a people watching a number of exhibition matches between the league's super powered wrestlers. He is clad in a black jacket with the UWL logo proudly emblazoned on the back, his large blonde moustache neatly trimmed for the occasion. "See over there? And there!" The coach is excited, and the atmosphere is frankly infectious here. "Take it all in, kids. Today we're gonna learn all about the sweet art of wrasslin'!"

Spaceman Please update his theme to: Save You - Divide Music Please update the description over the picture on Spaceman's sheet to this: Parker has short blonde hair and a short blonde beard. His light blue eyes seem almost inhuman in color. He has an athletic, somewhat powerful build. He tends to stand up straight, and will usually have a friendly smile on his lips. While in normal clothes, Parker tends to wear dress shirts and ties, ranging from solid colors to more abstract shapes and colors and to cartoon characters. He will usually wear dark pants or jeans, often in contrast to his shirt and tie. He has a habit of using his hands much when talking, gesturing to get his point across. As Spaceman, Parker wears a primarily white costume with black pants and simple black boots with thick golden trim at the top. On his chest, he has a downwards pointing black triangle shape with a thick golden border, starting from his solar plexus and ending near his neck. He wears a black cape directly attached to the black area of his costume, near his shoulders, and black gloves with thick golden borders where they connect to his costume. He wears a golden belt a number of pouches. He wears no mask. When he uses his powers, black bubble-like krackle tend to appear around him, growing in size and intensity the greater the feat, potentially causing a visual effects where he seems to dissolve into the krackle. and please update the picture to this:

GM The Emerald City stands gleaming around Haven. He moves through it like a man would through any other city in the world, with purpose towards the tower in the center. It is not real, of course. None of this is. It is all data, all an abstraction, a cyber world that he sees and interprets. Or maybe it is real. Maybe all of this is a world that Max Mars created to protect his secrets, a living breathing place, to ensure that he would have an ever evolving and reactive defense? Or maybe it is all just zeroes and ones. Whatever the case, Haven finds himself a the Emerald Tower in the center of the Emerald City, with a large gate. Above, the great red planet looms.

That's a hit @Lone_Star, but unfortunately, you do not seem to have any ability that you let you actually hurt Purple Daze with the Gravestone Uppercut while he's Insubstantial, so it won't have any effect. @Spacefurry the rules does not say anything about the rank of the feat you can add, but I'll allow it for the sake of getting things moving again. Give me a roll and IC. All villains except for Scarlet Mist are currently covered in Visual Obscure focused on Purple Haze: Total concealment (Can't attack directly, 50% miss chance on attacking target) 29 - Shadowborne - 2HP - Unharmed 26 - Multi-Girl - 3HP - Unharmed 25 - Multi-Girl Dupe - Unharmed 25 - Stormcrow - 5HP - Unharmed 20 - Purple Haze - Bruise (x1), (taunted until Paper's turn: -2 Attack Rolls and Checks) 19 - Cueball - Unharmed 19 - Ghule - 2HP - Unharmed 17 - Paper - 4HP - Unharmed 15 - Scarlet Mist - Unharmed, Fatigued (-2 Str/Dex, -1 ATK/Def, Cannot move all out) 12 - Buddy - Bruise (x1), Dazed 10 - Angel - Unharmed 8 - Nightscale - 3HP - Unharmed 7 - The Born Loser - KO

@Dracostern You can do that, but it won't do much, since Teamwork grants either an Attack or Defense bonus against an opponent, and your Mind Blast is perception ranged, without an attack roll. You could use a Combined Attack (Core book p. 155), which could potentially add +2 to the DC.

GM The ninja, despite blocking the blow with his own sword, staggers back a few feet as he feels the weight of the flaming naginata, whether it is an illusion or not. He growls, though whether it is in annoyance, pain or anger, is hard to tell. There is something inhuman about the sound that he makes. "Do you think that a great man can die so easily? That his ideals do not outlive his body?" At Neko's prompting, he reaches for his mask, pulls it down... and reveals a feline face. To Paper, Multi-Girl and Stormcrow, he looks very much like a male version of Neko, though particularly feral looking, with dark fur on his ears. "What would you know of honor? Deserter! Betrayer! Decades might have passed, but our oath lives on! You will see justice!"

Spaceman Captain Thunder? Parker looks up at he finishes setting down the debris. He is retired, but Parker supposes a hero might come out of retirement to help out, but something's off. They met Captain Thunder during the time travel trip with Lawrence, and this guy seems to be about that age, not nearly old enough. And... the lightning bolt hits the monorail. As far as Parker remembers, Captain Thunder was in control, but all of this just seems destructive. The speedster might be the bad guy, but all of this seems off. Reaching for his dress shirt, Parker pulls it open to reveal his white, black and gold uniform underneath and takes off from the ground, as he flies towards the hero. "Captain Thunder!" he calls out, doing his best to put on a confident voice. "I'm Spaceman, I'm with the school," no need to give away Claremont's name in public, "what's going on? Why are you after that speedster?"

The STORMCROW Everyone's supportive of Muirne asking them to avoid movies about magic. Doesn't even ask for reasons. That's good. They should probably try to avoid anything where possession's the main thing, too, with the experience with Casanova. "How about we stick to the first Ghostbusters?" It's not that outright disagrees with Neko, but he just likes the first one better. "And hey, if there's a fight with me, then Leon's gonna pick it. That's just how it is, right?"

Spaceman "Sure. I guess I can play the role of you guys' squire or something," Parker responds to whether they should go to the jousting area. He doesn't really care to join the conversation about alcohol and whether that legal or not for them to do. He's not quite as uptight as Michael in that area. It should be everyone's own choice, at least. Riel is gone before Parker really has a chance to greet him, but Parker just shrugs. It's fine, not everyone is going to want to hang out with you.

GM It is a disorienting experience for Devon-51, Dreamer and Madame Raven. The feeling of growing, of their bodies expanding beyond what they are meant to hold. They don't have the same energy holding them together as Rex, they're not used to the strain. It doesn't hurt, but it does ache. But it is only for a moment. The reach the kaleidoscope of rainbows that make up the walls around Z-Space, around this border region between universes and then... they breach it. The rainbows shatter around them, breaking around their bodies. It is not the best way to travel between realities, but the best that could be done as such short notice. And then, as they finally breach through Z-Space, as shards of reality wall collapses around them, they tumble back into the room in Atomic Tower that they left such a short time ago. Devon is still holding the woman. Rescue mission status: Success.

Rex Atom With Devon grabbing the woman, Rex is free to work his own magic. They have to get out of there. How? He should have an escape ready before they got in, but the room kind of took the choice away from them. Then again, Rex already knows the answer, doesn't he? Flying over by Devon, he grows to his regular size, letting the momentum carry his feet to the ground. Standing, he places a hand on Devon's shoulder. "Everyone, gather up and hold on to me!" The holes in reality are getting closer. They're not about to let them or the woman go, but it's fine. Once they're all holding him, he reaches for his belt and adjusts it, and then... they all start growing up and out of Z-Space, boundaries breaking around them as the holes in reality begin to disperse.

GHOST Great. The gangbangers graciously gives him 5 minutes to try and keep anyone else from getting hurt or killed. They're such great people. Without another word, Casper disappears. He had seen the Eagles watching the blaze at the other side of the building. He isn't sure if they have seen him come in or not, but it doesn't matter. In a flash of blue lightning, he appears in the middle of them, arms crossed and floating above the ground, a not-so-friendly neighborhood ghost. "So... I don't suppose you fine gentlemen have any idea what caused this fire?"
-
ARCHER II Thankfully, God invented flash goggles, which made it much easier to see, even if it wasn't perfect. Racing across the snow, the other snow mobile is easier to make out that the WEST station as it moves towards him. The woman riding it looks pissed off. At him? Maybe. He doesn't know what the hell is going on here, but he's confident that he can deal with her. Too confident? Maybe. He doesn't care. Putting the snowmobile to a halt, he keeps the bow on his back as he puts up his hands to let the woman know that he means no harm. He can get to it at a moment's notice, or get out of the way, if she keeps going at him.

BOUNCE! "We should probly get unpacked, right? I mean, I don't have a ton of stuff or anythin', but it'd be nice to make the room seem a bit like home, right?" Mattie responds to Lynn, with her usual wide and friendly smile. Sure, Lynn had already been to the room, and she can set everything up while Mattie's blinking, but it'll feel nice to get some of her posters up on the wall, and find some place for the picture of her family from back home, and everything else. "Nice to meet ya'll, I hope we'll be great friends! C'mon, Lynn, I can't wait to see the room!"

BOUNCE! "What? No, I didn't mean to... I, what? Boring? What?" It is going too fast. Mattie barely has time to react to anything that goes on all around her. The bossy pirate girl says they're boring, Gookgak disappears and takes the king with him, Alden and Renee leaves, it's all a big whirlwind of people showing up and then running off to find Gookgak or whatever else they're doing. She just stands around, holding on to her princess dress while she blinks for a moment, everyone but Lynn seems to rush off. "Uh... what just happened? Should we... I dunno... should we try to find out what they're all up to, or stick aroun' or... Sheesh. Are everyone in the big city always in such a hurry?"
-
BOUNCE! Mattie took everything in stride. Sure, if the others wanted her to be part of the distraction, she'd go in. While Jack rushed in ahead followed by Daniel, she came in after. She tried to shout to the others that they should try to talk things out, but they were way ahead of her, already fighting and then people started going for her, and, well, she had to fight back, so while Jack threw ice and Daniel did his whole force thing to throw people around, Mattie got physical. She bounced around, stretching and twisting, doing her best to stop any bad guys she got around with some well timed punches, apologizing all the while. "Do you know who this guy is?" she asks no one in particular, when the bad guy shows up. She realizes that she should try to look up all the bad guys, but honestly, it's just not her thing to remember everyone. The point's moot, anyone, when the other two people show up and freeze them. And then everything turn to static around them. And everything turns to static. Gookgak says they're gods, he rambles and says they're boring, "Hey, now, can't we talk about things? No reason we can't all be friends, right?" Mattie asks, if she can.
