GHOST "Huh." Casper held the card in his hand for a moment, watching as Grimalkin faded from sight. What was that all about? Horrowshow, the kid, spoke up, saying they were a good team. Casper kind of agreed, but they didn't get to do that much. He was about to respond when he took in Horrorshow's last line about the mentor and... Casper just froze. "What." His tone was completely flat. Casper knew that he wasn't exactly the most well known hero around Freedom or anything like that, but... "Look, kid, I appreciate the intent, but... I'm maybe a bit too old for that, yeah? I've probably been at this almost as long as you've been alive. I mean... c'mon. Did I look that bad out there?" This was... yeah. Ugh, that hurt. Was that why Grimalkin had given him that card in the first place? That'd be... Yeah, he did not need that kind of trouble right this moment.

ic Ghosts and Grimalkins: The Wonders of the English Language

GHOST No, no, Casper had not gotten in touch with Grimalkin and asked her to meet because of that whole last bit where she might actually have been flirting with him, and no, he was not freaking out about that at all, because honestly, no, he was not ready for anything like that at all or anything, but... no. No, he just wanted to have a nice chat. Grimalkin had been pretty cool through that entire movie night deal, being one of the few heroes to actually try and talk with him (you'd think being on the Freedom League Aux would make people more willing to give Casper the time of day, but nope, didn't seem to be the case). Having someone a bit more grounded to talk to would be nice, yeah? He still felt out of place with the Freedom League whenever he was called to serve, they were all just... so high up there. Even if he had been around for longer than most of them, they still seemed to be on an entirely different level compared to him, and Casper was sure it was just a matter of time before he got kicked out anyway. So, yeah. He'd sent Grimalkin a message, just something simple. "Quiet patrol night. Wanna meet and talk? I'll be on roof of the apartment building at the corner of Kendall and 58th for the next half hour or so." See! Just something simple. Would be good to have someone to talk to. -
GM Late November, a few weeks after Silver Screen Dreams A Tuesday evening At the roof of a random rundown apartment in the Fens It had taken Ghost a few weeks to realize that Grimalkin might actually have been flirting with him during the whole deal at the movies with Silver Scream. It probably wasn't that, but talking with someone else with experience. Besides... it had been a quiet day. Not even a single thug to stop or anything like that. So, he'd reached out through HeroHouse (after working out how to recover his accoun), and now he was waiting on the top of a rundown apartment building in the middle of the Fens, on a clear November night.

Space Ranger III "Alright, we're all very pretty and good at what we do, so how about we let the pirate and the praetor give it a shot at first, Miss Star Knight?" J'onn offered, looking over his shoulder at the Star Knight, before turning his full attention back to docking with the station. "At any rate, the praetor should know what she's doing, right? Might mean things go a bit faster, yeah?" He sounded confident, of course. They could do this. He hoped, at least. So far, J'onn thought he did a pretty good job of playing down his own excitement of working with both a praetor and a Star Knight. The pirate? Not so much.

GM "Wha?" Scarlet Mist was utterly baffled. She looked down at her solid hands, stumbled to the side and barely managed to tumble away from Paper's cocoon. "What's happening? What did you do? I... I... WHAT DID YOU DO!?" She was starting to panic, falling to her knees and grasping at her head.

GHOST Right, that pissed off Silver Banshee, and then... Then it all just kind of ended? Everything folded in on her, she disappeared, and they were back. Casper raised his goggles away from his eyes and looked around. The others that had been in there, they looked around strangely too, at least he wasn't the only one that had seen what had happened, but still... "Freaking magic..." he muttered to no one in particular.

Nevermore II The Feather was as silent as ever. The Raven's tech was, as ever, top of the line, but even if Terrifica couldn't hear Charlie pulling up. He was in full uniform now. Blacks, greys, some silver and the teal raven on his chest. A slight smile played over Nevermore's lips as he approached the door, gently opening it before stepping inside. He looked young in the costume. Definitely still a teenager, but one that had some experience, at least. "Hey, I'm Nevermore," he said, introducing himself to the older man. "Alright, then... what do we got? Locked room mystery with the most obvious perp in the morgue, but everything's still missing? Anything else you can tell us?"

"I don't think we have to k-kneel," James offered to Geckoman, before freezing up as he looked and realized who it was. He swallowed hard and slowly stepped forward, approaching Phalanx as well. "I... I'm Freedom Eagle." James almost sounded like he was about to say something else, before he stopped himself and moved to hold tightly around himself with his arms. "It's really a great honor to meet you both. You... they still talk about you where I'm from."

GM Once Chimera called the police, it wouldn't take too long for them to arrive. Ghost had put in a word, asking for detective DeMatteis, who luckily believed them. He made some grudging remarks to Ghost about him owing him for this, but he accepted the testimonies and the evidence. It took a while, but with the evidence handed over and both Freestyle and her employer being taken away, Chimera and Ghost were left to their own devices, with Ghost having led them back to the roof.

GHOST Casper shrugged at the comment about bringing a computer. Sure, he was good enough at computers, but he wasn't some kind of computer genius or anything like that. Besides... "Don't worry about it. Got no pockets for that, anyway." He whistled, as Chimera pointed out the files. "Yeah, that sounds about right." With a grin behind his mask, he looked over at the man, then back at Chimera. "Nice work."

Huh. Casper had tried, but he had managed to upset the kid anyway. Great. These kids were usuall pretty thick skinned. They knew they were the new hotness, all awesome and everything, so this was... kind of unexpected. Casper wasn't sure if she was scared or just didn't like him, but she was uncomfortable either way. "Oh, hey, there's no need for all that, kid. Sorry about that, it was just a joke, really." Sleeping? Didn't know much about America? "I, uh, I don't know much about Asia either? I mean, I'm guessing you're Japanese or Chinese or something with that getup, right? See, it's completely fine not to know everything and everyone, y'know."

As I said, blowing up one of the two Thermite Arrows as a free action. Should be in the crowd and catch at least a bunch of goons, if not Sister Blister and Dama Maravilla too. I'd like to see the effects of that before I decide on the rest of Archer's actions.

Nevermore II Charlie quickly ducked to the side, out of sight and pulled out his gear. They needed to be quick here. Sure, Bernie was anything but a pushover, and Sportsman was just a guy with a gimmick, but his partner? Princess Poison was the dangerous one. And what did they have to do with everything else going on here, anyway? It didn't take him long to get into uniform. Alek's training was paying off. Nevermore moved, staying to the shadows, as he kept up with his friends.

GM Sportsman laughed, shaking his head. "Don't say I didn't warn you, kid. You didn't have to get caught up in all this, but we don't need more hero types getting involved." He twirled a baseball in his hand, on the top of his fingers, then leaned down and rolled it across the ground, straight towards Multigirl and her duplicates. The ball rolled quickly, right to Multigirl's feet if she didn't move, and then exploded. Hopefully Multigirl could keep the girl safe. "Shut up you %#%ing idiot!" A young woman's voice called out to paper, before a whip struck out from above him, a blade at the end of it nicking at his good shoulder at lightning speed before being pulled back. The young woman, maybe a year or two older than Paper, was dressed in a skin tight dark green costume with black boots and markings, and a green mask that left her mouth and nose free. Long red, almost orange, hair was pulled into a ponytail that fell around behind her.

We'll be skipping Outrider until a time where LS gets back, then well figure things out if necessary! I'll adjust the villains to account for fewer heroes. Sportsman attacks Multigirl by rolling a ball at you, which explodes for a DC20 REF area, followed by DC25/20 TOU roll for @Thevshi Nevermore is moving towards Multigirl, but won't reach her this turn. And Villain 1 attacks Paper: 23 @Spacefurry give me a DC18 Fort save vs. Stun @Thevshi is up next! Current setup: All doors are blocked by some kind of force field near the doors, they can't be even be touched. All signals are blocked. The entire mall is filled with people. Depending on the situation, they might make combat more difficult! Some kind of sickness, poison or virus are spreading by touch among the people in the mall. A group of people are unconscious. Near the entrance: Paper, Shadowborne, Outrider, Nevermore II, Multigirl Duplicate A short distance away from the entrance, around a corner: Nightscale has just been hit by Villain 4, who are now moving through the crowds. Villain 1 has appeared and attack Paper. Multigirl is facing Sportsman near a toy store, standing in defense of a group of unconscious people. Nevermore has asked that Paper and Shadowborne join Nightscale, while he and Outrider go to help Multigirl, but we'll see what everyone does! 27 - Villain 4 - Unharmed 27 - Paper - 3HP - Unharmed 24 - Shadowborne - 3HP - Unharmed 24 - Outrider - 3HP - Unharmed 22 - Sportsman - Unharmed 22 - Nevermore II - 5HP - Unharmed 19 - Villain 1 - Unharmed 18 - Multigirl - 1HP - Unharmed 10 - Nightscale - 4HP - Bruise (x1) 6 - Villain 2 - Unharmed

GM The Danger Cycle's navigation system made it easy to find the way. It would be a about an hour and a half to drive there, maybe a bit faster if they gunned it. The ride would be rather uneventful. Maybe they got to talk a bit on the way, share a bit more about what they wished to share, but eventually, they would reach their destination. They found a group of tall hills by the Elbe river. Not mountains, by any means. At the top of the tallest hill stood a group of giant stones in a circle, each marked with a rune.

Space Ranger III J'onn activated the helmet on his suit, rather than put on the actual helmet, but otherwise, he was ready by the time Veronica had shown him the ropes. It was different. The bikes back home had bigger wheels, for one, to be more useful on the planet's deserts, but he could get used to that. Still, better to let Veronica take the lead. "So, you got some kind of built in map system, right? Can they link up?"

Different languages. Such a strange concept that not everyone would just understand everyone. Pan looked at the small coin-like device in front of him. He listened, looking at Eira, then to the small device. He picked it up between two fingers and held it up, studying it carefully. <"It is beautiful,"> he admitted, as he held it up and watched the light reflect in it. <"You made it for me? To keep me safe?">

GM "YOOOOU!" Ghost's plan had worked maybe a little bit too well as Scarlet Mist threw herself towards him... only to be completely caught by surprise as he grabbed her and pulled her out of the mist. She tumbled a few steps from her momentum and Ghost's pull, stumbling out right in front of Paper and Nightscale with an obviously surprised, but somehow still murderous, expression plastered all over her face.
