  1. GM The rain started falling heavily from the sky, the fire slowly being put out, giving way. Around the Forever Boy and the Thunderbird, the forests came alive. Sky-Pirates flocked towards them from the woods, a wild mass of people brandishing cutlasses and muskets. They moved strangely. Like puppets on a string. Like something had them hooked.
  2. OOC for this. Give me an initiative roll @KnightDisciple
  3. GHOST Ghost shrugged. "Can't argue with that." Yeah. It sounded worse. He could probably make it sound even worse if he really wanted to, but... eh. Kid didn't need that right now, did she? She was starting to freak out about this getting in the papers or the news or something. "Eh, you get used to it. If you're lucky good ol' triple C will say you're the one that stopped all these people and I just got in the way."
  4. "Yeah, sure. I think I know where it is." Art gallery? Yeah, sure, why not. Not the place he'd guessed, but alright, could do that. "Nothing to worry about, I think. I'll be there at 5." Full costume, then? Yeah, probably. "Thanks." That was... an easier start to things than Casper had thought it would be.
  5. "At first, I guess. Got the hang of it pretty quick, at least. Now it's weird not to be able to walk through walls." Ghost shrugged. "Not like I really wanted to be a hero at first, but, y'know, stuff happens." He didn't really feel the need to go into further details than that. "Y'know, I probably should go ask, yeah. Just kinda made me feel like like a creepy stalker or something, y'know?"
  6. As per our talk... Charlie got time to set up 25 traps, and do a Master Plan in preparation. So, let's start with Master Plan: 28 That's a +3 bonus to Attack and Skill rolls for all of us once Charlie initiates the bonus, lasting fully for 3 rounds, then dropping by 1 each round until its gone. Trap types Illusion 8 (Auditory; Extras: Independent (+0); Feats: Progression [Area] 3, Triggered 2) (50 ft. radius area) {13/17DP} (Descriptors: Noisemaker, Playback Device, Sound, Remote Activated) Snare 8 (Flaws: Action [Full]; Feats: Improved Critical 1, Improved Range 1, Reversible, Tether, Triggered 2, Variable Descriptor 2 [Any Technological]) {16/17DP} (Descriptors: High Tech Snares, Nets, Cuffs, Rapidly Expanding Foam, Shock Field, etc.) Trip 8 (Feats: Improved Critical 1, Improved Range 1, Improved Trip, Subtle 1, Triggered 2, Variable Descriptor 2 [Any Technological]) {16/17DP} (Descriptors: Trip Tricks, Various Tripwires, Bolas, Snarelines, etc.) All Snares should tether the targets to the ground. Noisemaker + Snare Combo I'll place 5 Noisemakers scattered around the area. 3 on the ground, 2 on rooftops near buildings. Their triggers are all set to Remote Activation. I'll place 5 High Tech Snares, one by each Noisemaker, with a proximity trigger, if they come to investigate the noises. The descriptor is Cold, with a rapid freeze that creates a block of ice to immobilize them. Freeze Snare 1 to 5, rolled in order: 19, 17, 20, 25, 18 Tripwires near the Gangster I'll place 5 Tripwires around the gangster hanging upside down, as snarelines to make them trip, with a proximity trigger. Tripwire 1 to 5 near the upside down gangster, rolled in order: 13, 27 (CRIT!), 25, 16, 10 Ground Level Snares 6 Snares placed around the road in the alley, all rapidly expanding hardening foam. They are all Remote Activated. Foam Snares 1 to 6, rolled in order: 14, 13, 15, 21, 18, 26 Roof Level Snares 4 Snares placed on the walls of the buildings in the alley, shooting out a high tech net that catches around a target, remaining stuck to the point of origin with a tether. They are all Remote Activated. Net Snares 1 to 4, rolled in order: 23, 15, 11, 27 (CRIT!) And Charlie would like to gag the gangster and go hiding at Stealth 25 with Skill Mastery.
  7. Nevermore II "Are all the demons like yours? Anything they're weak to?" Nevermore was staring into the man's eyes, his lips crooked into a grin. Yeah... This could work. He'd need to be quick about this, but it could work, and Luke and Muirne were the perfect people for this to work. He turned away from the man, approached his friends and put his hands on their shoulders, drawing them in close. "So... here's the plan: There's a bunch of people coming all at once. We're in way over our heads, of course, but y'know... they don't know anything about us. So, we get ready. Buddy here is bait, and I got enough traps to cover most of the area. Nightsale, you got your illusions. Use them to confuse them, keep them off balance. Shadowborne, we'll need some darkness. We can see them, they can't see us. Take them down one by one, we make sure that we don't draw too much attention all at once. Running and hiding is fine, we'll circle back."
  8. Nevermore II Charlie could hear the sounds and shouts from his hiding place. El was doing good, but Midas didn't sound like he was backing down. The cowl was on, most the costume. He closed the utility belt with the big N, and put his hands into the silver gauntlets. Standing, his cape fell behind him. Go time.
  9. GM "Gold is everything!" Midas proudly proclaimed as the Outrider was sent flying. He took a step to the side as she kicked him, but seemed otherwise unharmed and actually laughed at her. "And you are nothing!" Dr. Midas leapt back, a short burst of jet from his boots putting distance between himself and his foe, before he fired another golden beam at her. Upon hitting her, it created a golden field around Elena that held her in place. "Mock me at your own peril, you overgrown mannequin!"
  10. That's a hit. TOU save vs. DC21: 27 Dr. Midas fires a beam at you: 15 That's a hit. Its a Move Object effect, so give me a Grapple roll vs. 37 He'll hold you stationary. And here's his roll, if you try to break free on the next turn: 25 Charlie is getting ready! And you're up! 15 - Outrider - 3HP - Unharmed 15 - Dr. Midas - Unharmed 10 - Nevermore II - 3HP - Unharmed
  11. ROCKET Wait, what just happened? Where did she go? She was there one moment, then gone when he zoomed around her, and... He didn't do that, did he? No, he could see the slight crack of electricity where she stood and... she was suddenly very small. Jay really didn't know how to deal with that, so... "Woah."
  12. OOC for this. We'll start off with just @Kaede Kimura and @Nerdzul, I'll call in @RedSpine, @Cubismo and @Lone_Star as everyone else gets involved!
  13. GM Claremont Academy March 9th, 2020 Afternoon, after class Aside from Casanova and Stinger's grudges, things seemed to have calmed down considerably since the fight between New Young Freedom and the group of young heroes in October. New Young Freedom had resumed their patrols in December and, so far, they seemed to stay on the straight and narrow path. Well, things between the two groups had been mostly calm. A week or so before, Muirne, Luke's girlfriend, had been teamed with Sebastian for a project. Soon after, she had started talking about how maybe Sebastian wasn't that bad, that Luke and the others should try to give him another chance...
  14. GM Headmistress Summers was not amused. With the evidence presented to them, a few of the group spoke up on the behalf of some of the members of New Young Freedom. They all seemed to agree that Casanova was the only one that was really a bad guy. The group was told to wait outside while Summers deal with New Young Freedom. Not too long after, the group left. Casanova was holding an icepack against his broken nose, glaring at the group, but otherwise remaining silent as they were ushered out of the room, flanked by a teacher. Nevermore, Arrow, Shift, Howl and Nightscale were told to enter Summers' office. She was sitting behind the desk, looking as equally unamused with this little group as she had been with New Young Freedom. "Thank you for bringing this matter to us. We will keep an eye on Shields and his friends and make sure they don't cause any other trouble." There was a but coming. It just hang in the air. "But we do not tolerate students fighting each other. If you had suspicions, you should have brought them to your teachers. We're here to solve these problems. I have no choice but to give you each a week of detention." She sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "You're all dismissed. Get out of here before I change my mind."
  15. Justice "Doing better than I did," Robin said, looking around. Sure, she had taken down a lot of them, but Ultra Girl had held own. "Well, you are new, and I remember how that was. All new, not a whole lot of heroes around, and these jerks can't make that easier, so... yeah. I was looking for you. Wanted to see if you could use some help." "Yeah. Looks like you could need some rest." Justice placed a hand on her belt, next to the big pink stone in the middle, and clicked a button. A bright rainbow colored portal appeared in front of them, big enough for both to walk through. Justice held out a hand towards Ultra Girl. "C'mon, the AnneX is a safe place." If Ultra Girl accepted, Justice would help her through the portal, coming out into a garage that housed Justice's bike, her armor and several different armor pieces all over.
  16. Control. Right. That was good. No need to put anyone in danger if Carrie did get powers. Like herself. "That's good. I remember rescuing a kid some years back, she had this weird thing where she put everyone in a shared dream, couldn't control it, everyone running from nightmares. Vicky or something like that. I think she was sent to Nicholson. I've wanted to check in on her a few times, but, y'know, it'd be weird." How old? Huh. He didn't expect that question. "Older than those kids, at least. Must've been... 14 or 15? Something like that, I think. Didn't know anything about Claremont, so kinda did my own thing."
  17. GHOST "Alright, alright, Sorry." Whatever witch girl said, that was totally a code monkey, but this wasn't the time to be monkeying around. "Wouldn't really call it a punch inside their body. More like... disrupting their bodies? I dunno, its weird, I know. Just works." He had tried to figure out how it worked before, but didn't really seem to follow any laws of physics or anything, so... Yeah. It was weird. Best way to put it. "Devil's Advocates, according to their jackets, I guess. Haven't really heard of them before," he answered with a shrug. "Seemed like the standard suddenly powered biker gang out to cause trouble."
  18. "No, no, there is no need to worry, my friends." Pan's voice was calm, as he looked at the pups and their reaction, then back to Eira. She was different, and the dogs would notice. But what if they could not? What if the sight, the scent, the sounds, everything about her was not so different? What if someone could weave stories that changed what seemed to be, and did not seem to be? So that Eira would seem to be just another one of the group of teenagers? And if that one could make the little puppy he held in his arm calm and trusting, make him understand that nothing is wrong? The others might notice the change about Eira, or they might not. It was subtle, small. Mostly noticable to the dogs, maybe anyone else that had enhanced senses of some kind. Holding the dog close to him with one hand, Pan smiled and reached the other out to Eira. "Trust me. This little guy will be fine. Come, be gentle with him, he is just a little one."
  19. GM Just past midnight March 6th, 2021 In the shadow of the Doomforge The House of Usher had returned. The Raven had been after them for months at this point. He had researched the old Ushers that the previous Ravens had fought. He had been following any leads, stopped any of their operations he could find. All that he had learned was that they were back and their influence on Freedom City was growing. They had yet to meet another Usher directly. A recent operation had uncovered one new piece of information, at least: The Ushers' base of operations were somewhere in Kingston. And so, Raven and Nevermore headed towards Kingston, in the shadow of the Doomforge...
  20. GM Night February 25th, 2021 Across the rooftops of the Fens Callie had spent a lot of time patrolling Freedom City since being brought to the this time. She had gotten used to this future Freedom, gotten used to this new world she found herself in, where she existed twice at once: The headmistress of Claremont and the time displaced teenager. Things had changed in the poorer parts of the city lately. The Fens, Southside, Kingston... The shadows seemed darker. Ever since Raven and Nevermore had learned that the House of Usher had returned, the Raven Family had found mounting evidence of the Ushers' increasing presence in the city, especially in these areas. Now, she had been patrolling the Fens. It had been largely uneventful when she caught sight of a mugging in progress on the street below, near a street corner. Three men against one hardly seemed fair.
  21. Casper paused. Is this midlife crisis? Seriously? "Sure, if you say so. Beats spending all I got on a fancy car, I guess." He could kind of see what Fleur had meant about Frost. "Yeah, I'm free. Just tell me when and where."
  22. GM Ryu looked at the monsterous Carnifex, at the woman in the wheelchair and the man that dared to interrupt the stand off, to his sister and back again. He opened his mouth as if to speak, then closed it again, either unwilling or unable to say anything more. "Thank you." Tomiko bowed to the Dreamer and Blackstaff, before moving back to her former position. Her brother looked confused, before he started barking orders in Japanese once more, motioning with his hands for the Takazumi-gumi to do as he would. "Fine! We will finish this some other time. I have no time to deal with the freaks of this city today!" With Ryu once more leading the group, they continued on, but perhaps pushing just a few less people around.
  23. REBELLION Monster from nowhere. The girl in the wheelchair didn't seem surprised, did she call it forth? Curious. Rebellion remained still. The situation was diffusing with the woman's apology, even with the other man putting himself in the middle of it. Was the situation better or worse for it? The Takazumi-gumi might be on guard now... And then the monster landed on the roof in front of him on the rooftop. "Hn." Rebellion stood up to his full height as appraised the strange thing. His own dark blue clothes, giant white eyes the only visible features in the darkness that made up his face under the cap he was wearing. He remained silent. Let the monster make the first move, if it wished to make one.
