GM Leon sighed as the man the girl had called over joined them. “What the hell, Jeff! You’re supposed to be keeping people like them at a distance.” The girl accused him while waving a hand at the group. Meanwhile, Leon held up his hands in placating manner. “Guys, I can explain.” “Of course, Ms Cartwell. I’m sorry, Ms Cartwell.” Jeff attempted to calm the girl down, before turning to them. “Okay guys, I’m gonna have to-“ Leon raised a hand to cut Jeff off. “It’s okay Jeff, they’re cool.” “What do you mean ‘They’re cool’?” The girl demanded. “I don’t deal with psycho fans or paparazzi?” “Just chill, Cassi.” The others could see Leon’s eyes rolling. “They’re not paparazzi and they’re not fans.” The girl, Cassi, eyed Leon then actually looked disappointed as she crossed her arms. “Then who are they?” She demanded. Leon looked at the group, took a deep breath and sighed. “They’re my friends.” The man, Jeff, spoke up. “Man, you know Mr Holt’s policy on inviting friends on set.” “I didn’t invite them. Its a public mall. They just happened to be here.” Jeff started to reply, paused in thought then nodded. “Makes sense.” He looked the group over. His gaze lingering on Eira a bit longer than the others. “So, ah, who are they?” He asked. Leon rubbed the back of his head. “This is Vik, Luke, Muirne, and Eira. They’re friends from school.” Jeff looked from Eira to Leon questioningly. “She graduated before us.” Leon amended. “Guys, this is Jeff and Cas-“ The girl cut Leon off and stepped up beside him. “Cassi Cartwell.” She said in a tone that implied everyone should know who she was. “And you are interrupting our line reading.” Cassi eyed the four of them. Her eyebrows arching as she took in Luke. “But I guess we can make time.” Her tone changed again to something sweeter. “After all, any friend of Leon’s…” She trailed off as she played with a lock of her hair. Leon just rolled his eyes. “Don’t bother Cassi, that’s his girlfriend standing next to him.” Cassi shot Leon a dirty look before giving Luke a pouty look. “Well, that’s a shame.” Meanwhile, the older Jeff gave Eira an awkward smile. “So, you ,ah, work in the mall?”

Predator Jean looked up at the sound of Terrifica’s voice. “Ah, Miss Terrifica. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person.” She gave the other hero a nod. She glanced over at Synth and Dr North. “The sooner we get these two somewhere warmer with medical attention the better.” Jean frowned and turned back to the computer for a moment, disconnecting her helmet and turning back to Terrifica. “As far as the destruction of this facility, I think that it should wait until the important bits can be safely and properly dismantled and moved. Especially with the subjects still in the tanks.” She gestured toward the forms floating in the tanks with her helmet.

Seraphim Sarah had to admit, she liked the school’s uniform. She thought she looked cute in it. Being the fourth child of five, Sarah was use to dealing with younger kids. She was always stuck with helping her mother with the youngest as her older siblings conveniently had ‘other things to do’. Even still, this was more then she was expecting. But she had agreed to this and she wasn’t going to let the school or the headmistress down. She returned Michael’s thumbs up with nearly a genuine smile. She supposed she had it a little easier with the young teens, even though technically she was only a couple years their senior. They were more interested in the phones than in running amok. One of the girls, Veronica? No, Victoria. Yes, that was it. Victoria seemed restless. Sarah leaned closer to the girl. “Hey there.” She said in a lowered voice and gave Victoria a friendly smile. “Is everything alright? Can I get you water or something?” She offered.

Seraphim Sarah followed along with Renee, Kadene and the boy she didn’t know. When the boisterous Renee began to call out to the crowds she was impressed at the quick thinking. Making it sound like just another event was a smart idea. She was thinking it might actually help them when a wave of calm seemed to slide over her. She shivered at its touch and looked around in confusion. “That wasn’t natural.” She said to no one in particular before the small group of people entered the markets. They looked like they walked out of one of those documentaries about that one old concert her father watched sometimes. Sarah was further confused as she glanced around. The crowd’s reaction to the new arrivals wasn’t nearly as strange as that of Renee’s. The tie-dyed trouble makers began to wiped bats and clubs and her schoolmate seemed completely unperturbed. “Ah, hey!” He yelled at the band of blunt instrument wielders. “You can do that! That isn’t yours, and you could hurt someone!” Seraphim stepped forward, a glow already beginning to radiate from her skin and eyes.

Paper Paper turned away from the ninja as the paper constrictor took the would-be assailant out of the fight. He turned his attention towards the rafters where Neko and Berni were facing the last of their attackers. He could see her girlfriend had one of the ninjas at (flaming) blade point and he grinned. That was his kitty showing her claws and he was always proud to be her partner. Suddenly something changed though, he could see it in her body language. Then her weapon faded away and her cry echoed through the small venue. Leon was already moving. Sheets of paper unconsciously forming steps up to the rafters even as he ran.

Blackstaff “I’m gla-*cough*” His voice was a little hoarse and Blackstaff rubbed his throat as he cleared it. He tried to speak again. “I’m glad you’ve decided to stop resisting.” Blackstaff leaned casually on the firm blackened piece of wood that bore a striking resemblance to his nickname. “Now, about these goblins…” He cocked an eyebrow. “Don’t suppose you’d be willing to enlighten us as to how you became entangled with them?”

Paper “That’s right.” Leon grinned, knowing full well the irony the team’s leader would find in the statement. “Someone’s gotta keep that ego of his in check.” He smirked at Charlie, as if daring the other to come up with a good comeback. He regarded Muirne when she mentioned the incident a few Christmases ago. “Oh ya, I had almost forgotten about that.” He lied. He just didn’t want to think about his brother and sister right now. “Holidays are just weird trouble magnets. Can’t count them or you’re gonna throw the odds.” He shrugged dismissively. He continued to pet the cat in his lap when a thought came to him. “Hey, Vik. We’re not making you feel weird hanging with a bunch of couples are we?” He asked, sounding genuinely concerned they could be making her uncomfortable.

Paper Paper flipped and spun, dodging Scarlet Mist’s attack unscathed. He stood to face her as she semi-reformed. “Good together? Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure you woulda been one hellava ride, girl.” He said, tilting his head slightly and sounding a little disappointed. “I may be a bad boy, but I ain’t a monster. I draw the line at hurting innocent peeps and attempted murder.” “Now, if I gotta lay hands on you, I will.” He smirked. “Though, my girlfriend might get upset with me if she finds out.” Sheets of paper rustled as he began to spin a paper staff. “Doubt I can convince you and the sis-con to back off and sit quiet till the cops show?” Paper raised his voice so Purple Haze could hear him, trying to taunt the brother into moving so the others could see the bikers. “Guess I’ll just help you into something a little less comfortable.” Paper swung the staff in an arch and it exploded into a flock of paper birds that rushed Scarlet Mist in an attempt to engulf her. When they hit the stick to her, trying to layer upon each other until not even her mist could slip through. Trying to form a paper cocoon around the villain.

Seraphim Sarah blinked, a little surprised at the sudden shift in Kadene’s attitude. The boisterous young woman was suddenly solemn and humorless. A near 180 from mere moments ago. The blonde girl’s rebuke had seemed to have really upset her, though Sarah was quite sure why. Still, something in her felt the need to place a hand on her arm in a manner that was meant to reassure someone. She left her hand there a moment in silence before giving it a little squeeze. “Come on, if we’re quick we might find this, ah, green boy first.” Sarah tried to sound encouraging. She had to concede, she thought she remembered see the goblin boy on campus, but had actively avoided them. He had struck her as more ‘energetic’ then she was currently comfortable with. But it seems their paths may be about to cross anyway. Sarah walked with walked with the pirate girl as they followed Renee back towards the market stalls.

GM Vik took offense at what she saw and beelined for the two with no regard. Behind her, the others followed. Eira stepping closer than Luke and Muirne, but allowing Vik room to act unhindered. As they all approached, they could hear part of the conversation between the two. “You brought me here. Because you knew you couldn’t live without me.” The young man said in a domineering tone. “N-no, that’s not true.” The girl stammered her objection, but she seemed to lean in closer. “Just admit it, you know you want me as much as I wa-” You could almost hear the triumph in his words… until a strong hand grabbed his shoulder and pulled him away. “Huh? What the-?” In the instant it took for Eira’a eyes to snap the image, she knew it wasn’t going to be necessary to contact the police. Their paths had crossed before. In fact, they had crossed paths with the young man less than a year ago. Luke and Muirne knew him as well, but never dressed quite like this. The patch crowded jean jacket and black jeans weren’t his typical style. For Vik, she was still getting to know the young man. Leon blinked at Vik in obvious confusion for a moment before his eyes darted around and found the others. “Oh sh-!” “What the hell is going on?” The girl demanded even as Leon groaned and facepalmed. Her tone, no longer the demure one she had a moment ago, but demanding and self righteous. “Jeff!” She yelled, and a larger man who had obviously been chatting with another woman started jogging over hurriedly with a look that said he knew he was in trouble.

Blackstaff Blackstaff and Lark entertained Deamer with stories of past cases and adventures as they waited for Morrowind to return. It was well into the night before the ghost appeared again to relay her findings. She gave Blackstaff a pointed look as she emphasized how she had scoured the shelves alone, to which he gave a sheepish chuckle and said he had been entertaining the client. Morrowind’s glare did not convey belief in his excuse, but she remained polite and professional by ignoring it and continuing. Lark tried to stifle a smirk behind her hand. By the time Morrowind had finished her recounting, Blackstaff was less than happy. “Well, now. This doesn’t bode well. It doesn’t sound like this wizard is the type to give up easily.” Lark nodded. “It also sounds like he’s got plenty of patience too.” Blackstaff nodded back and turned to regard Dreamer. “It’s up to you, but for your own safety, I want to extend an invitation to stay here for a time. Just until we can sort this out and get him off your back.” He offered. “The guest room isn’t the best.” Lark said and smiled. “But it’s comfortable enough. I’ve used it a few times when I’ve stayed late at the office studying.” Dreamer may have noticed that neither of them were using the wizard’s actual name even though Morrowind had.

Predator The space heaters were less then cooperative when she found them. She had to salvage parts from one to get the others up and running. But once they were, she bundled them with the clothing and food she had gathered and headed back towards the elevator to the lower lab. As she rode the elevator she continued to reexamine the events leading up to her current situation. She hardly left her lab, but her notoriety made her a suitably easy target to locate. Others in the scientific fields may find themselves targeted next. She would have to see it Terrifica would be willing to go over her design for the scanner. With the resources on hand in the lab they should be able to refine and expand on it. The elevator doors opened and she stepped out, crossing the lab to Dr North and Synth. “Here, take these.” She presented the two with warmer clothing and coats she had found in a storage closet. “Hopefully some of them will fit. I found MRE’s as well. Not the most tasteful food, but they should provide suitable nourishment.” She set several of the meal packets by them before stepping away to setup the heating units.

Seraphim Seraphim was glad that her flash attack hadn’t hindered her teammates. Dr Zero seemed to be incapacitated by a cloud Spore had exhaled. She suddered involuntarily. She seemed like a nice girl, but… Seraphim shook her head. “No time for that kind of thinking.” She chided herself and turned her attention to the giant Tom that was still active. Still airborne, she moved for a better line of sight and aimed a hand at the villain. “It’s time you saw the light of.. your, ah errors…” ‘Geez that sounded stupid.’ She cringed, even as bright light flared and a beam of brilliance cut through the air to slam into the man with surprising solidity.

Predator Jean’s and Cynthia’s voices could occasionally be heard from the Predator helmet as it sat on the counter, a cable connecting it to the lab’s computers. She had left it behind with an open channel to her ear piece in case the others needed to contact her while she left the lower lab. The entity known only as Synth had awoken, but proved to be of little help given their condition. Jean supposed it couldn’t be avoided and didn’t begrudge them. Nor Dr North, for that matter. Circumstances were rather extraordinary all things considered. Terriffica was already on her way, but Jean continued to have Cynthia comb through files. At the moment, Jean herself was searching the upstairs for a working space heaters, clothing and food for her two, reluctant, companions. It was going to be a while before rescue could get through the storm to them.

Seraphim Sarah bristled a little at Kadene’s accusation of being ‘boring’. But she didn’t seem to be alone as Lynn seemed to not take kindly to the pirate’s commands. “Well, if we’re splitting up…” She looked around, unsure. She wasn’t with anyone she really knew well, or felt comfortable with. She least had some experience beside Renee, though saying she could be a handful was a bit of an understatement. Sarah gave an exasperated sigh and decided to stay with Kadene. Maybe she could try to reign the girl in a little, but she doubted it. “Maybe we can check around the market stalls” She offered, pointing back towards the entrance arch they had just passed through.

GM The small group turned their attention to food and turned their feet towards the food court. The noise of consumerism drowned out by their own conversation and the looming threat of holiday music on the horizon. As they neared the font of mall nurishment, the group could easily spot one of the smaller camera crews setting up for something. But that wasn’t possibly the strangest thing they could have seen. Off to one side a familiar looking young man shoved an unknown young woman against the wall beside a shop window front. The black haired young man in a jean jacket covered in band patches slammed a hand against the wall and leaned in close as if to pin the girl in place with his sheer presence.

GM Detective Ramsey fumbled with her service weapon as she tried to support Detective Pascal at the same time. Still, even as she pointed it at the creature, her aim wavered and uncertainty was obvious in her eyes despite attempting to look like she was keepig her cool. “Wha-what are the hell are you?” Ask asked, echoing Diamondlight’s sentiment. “How rude.” The creature sounded affronted as it began to clean one paw with a long barbed tongue. “Always with the ‘What are you?’ and ‘Who is your master?, never ‘Who are you?’.” It paused and eyed the gathered heroes and police, flashing a needle filled grin, cat eyes flashing in the little human face edged in fur. It regarded Sea Devil’s aggressive stance but gave no indication of concern before tilting its head to pin Diamondlight with its gaze. “Any creator requires materials to craft with. Though, it need not be whole organs. Mere samples can do.” Wicked looking claws peeked out from the paw it was cleaning before they disappeared again. “I am Charlie. As named by the Master. My creator.” It sat up straighter. “I am not a slave… I am a product of their greatness.” The creature suddenly looked bored. “Alas, I have not been permitted to engage with potential subjects.” Yawning creepily, all could see the needle-like teeth were set in several rows as the long barbed tongue stretched out. It stood on all four, stretched like a cat and turned its back on the gathering. “Do take better care of the Master’s property you still have. He will come for them… in time.” With a flick of its tail the little abomination leaped away to disappear into the brush of the park with a rustle.
