Blackstaff Blackstaff stood over the unconscious form of the sorcerer Batita. Ice was slowly melting all around the back alley not far from the railyard both had been heading towards. It seemed he wasn’t alone in having heard the rumors. The Octavo. A unique grimoire said to contain 8 of the most powerful spells ever recorded. It was a myth, of course. No one had any proof they had ever actually laid eyes on it. But it didn't stop the young and/or foolish from seeking it out. This time someone had started a rumor that it was among a shipment of items bound for the Natural History Museum being unloaded tonight. Blackstaff shook out his shield bracelet, flecks of ice raining off his coat as he did. A staff of old blackened wood with runic carvings oddly held not a single trace of ice or water upon it. Turning towards the alley’s entrance he walked casually towards the rail yard again. He hadn’t gotten much further before a distance ruckus erupted from the direction of the yard. Sounds like explosions and gunfire never amounted to anything good in this city… or any other city he supposed. He cursed and began to run.

Paper Leon was focused on the building as Luke returned from his sweep of the building’s perimeter. “I get the sense of two people. One packin some serious cash I think.” He looked up at Luke and grinned. Sue had become a fast favorite of his. He glanced at the entry points Luke pointed out and thought for a moment. “Hmm. We could try a two-prong approach.” He suggested. “I’ll take the door and you take the hole? If they are expecting us, they’ll have to split their attention. Then it’s just a couple of 1v1s.”

Predator The soldier slipped through her grip and forced his way into the cockpit. In an instant he had incapacitated both pilots. Predator cursed behind her helmet and made a split second decision. The soldier was bent over the controls, thrashing at buttons and switches, and she tensed. She exhaled and like a coiled spring, the armored hero sprung in blur. She had every intention to carry them both straight out through the front windshield. The full weight of the armored hero collides with the suped-up soldier. Slamming into him and driving them both out through the window in a rain of glass, most of the debris blowing back into the plane from the sheer force of wind. The two tumbling across the nose of the plane and out into the open air. Predator let him go with a shove, watching as he plummeted away. Leaving the potential biological weapon to gravity’s unkind mercy.

Predator Predator watched her screens as she followed the overlay showing their projected path across the roofs. She nodded as Echohead informed her about what he sensed. “A puppeteer may be beneficial if it stops the puppets when we cut his strings. Otherwise, it could be problematic if doing so sent the copies in to a frenzy.” Pausing on a roof across the way. They spotted the open window and someone waving them in. Cynthia already has the trajectory calculated and a small thrust and leap easily carried the two over to the building. She let Echohead pass through the open window first, then followed him in. “How many survivors are here?” Predator asked even as she switched between scanning modes, searching for potential threats. -

Paper Bighorn was out of the fight. Paper watched as Shift quickly settled or her next target, one of the Multi-Girl wannabes. He was dimly aware that several of the girls were already dealing with other Legion dupes. Paper decided their leader wasn’t being properly entertained. The mallet in his hands collapsed and reformed into a large bow as he lifted his hand. An arrow forming as he pulled back the string. He did notice, before he released his paper arrow, that Legion popped out another dupe even as Shift knocked one literally off her feet. “Hmm, well that seems annoying.” Paper let his arrow loose and it sored true, striking Visor squarely. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to stop him. He glared in annoyance, another arrow already forming as he began to draw again.

Predator Predator recognized the symptoms as the captain was tossed aside by the solider. Her mind raced for a moment as she instinctively raised one blaster, only to hesitate. An explosion inside the plane would be bad, and since she couldn’t be sure if shooting him would cause a detonation. Instead, the armored hero quickly crossed the interior and grabbed for the solider. She grabbed the back of the man’s combat vest and pulled him into her grasp. As she put an arm around the soldier’s neck, thermal sensors told her his temperature was rising. Not unlike ‘Dr North’ had in her lab. She cursed behind her helmet, and glanced at the cargo bay’s side door. “Hold on tight!” She called over to the captain as she drag the soldier towards said door.

GM Nightscale and Wildchild struggled on the ground with grunts and growls from both. The genetically modified vampire snapping her teeth in an angry hiss before the dragon in man form lands a solid blow, dazing her visibly, nearly going limp in his grip. The two were suddenly drowned out but the sound of gunfire from Detective Ramsey’s police issued pistol. The creature that was the woman snarled at the attack but showed no sign of caring about the little metal bits being flung at it. Where the woman once stood, now a monster from a Carpenter or Cronenburg film stood in the tattered remains of its dress that did little in covering anything that had once been human anatomy. “I will tear your hearts from your chests and feast on them.” The creature's voice was rough and scratchy, like iron nails on stone as she snarled at the detectives. “But first…” It swung its angular face in Sea Devil’s direction and what could only be a sneer twisted its face. With a speed that betrays its new mass, one hand of dagger-like claws lash out at the deep one. But her swing is wide and deadly looking claws whistle through the air short of Sea Devil’s armored face plate as the hero easily dodges. Diamondlight seizes the opportunity to strike. And in a flash, literally, he attacks and then the hero is back where he was. Almost as if he never moved. The only evidence of his attack is a clean slice that reeks of burnt flesh, blood and ickor. That, and the cry of rage from the monster as it swipes at the lights still dancing in front of its eyes in futility.

Predator The smooth face of the Predator armor reflected Echohead’s nervousness, but behind it, he just knew… The vixen was giving him an apologetic look, but there was a tinge of mirth behind it. Predator secured her scanner and scooped Echohead up into a carry. Luckily, the man wasn’t taller than her in the armor. “Hold on tight.” Oh ya, she was definitely finding this humorous. He had an idea of how her mind worked right now. Thrusters fired and the duo were airborne. The arch of her trajectory carried them to the first rooftop. A second leap carried them further, where her fingers dung into the wall of the building. She shifted Echohead and climbed up to the ledge. Predator and Echohead continued making their way towards the hospital, one rooftop at a time. -
Predator Jean smiled at the officer then regarded the private. “I try not to judge until I have evidence.” She gave the nervous looking solider a nod before turning her attention to the captain. The speakers crackled to life and Jean’s demeanor shifted slightly. She sat up straighter and checked her buckles. “Well now, I hope you packed warm clothing.” On the ground Jean stood from her seat. There was a shimmer in the air around her, the subtle sound of air being displaced and the Predator armor appeared around her.

She also has Leaping 3 and Wall-Crawling 1 under her Movement array. And her light-load is over a ton if it helps. Her Skill Mastery in Acrobatics will only nab her an 18 though. So, if she still needs one. Acrobatics: 12 Oh, come on… Reroll: 26 first roll was good, but I accidentally typed in 1d29 so it didn’t count -

Predator Predator frowned under her helmet as she watched the readouts on the scanners. Between the two of them they had produced a pair of functioning scanners. They were supposed to help track down the original source of the ‘event’. Obviously the number of overlapping signals was more than they accounted for. The bodies on the train didn’t exhibit the apparent magnitude increase they were now encountering. The errors were directing them to both a local radio signal tower and a local hospital. Both would be needed. She contemplated for a moment… Predator looked at Echohead and then nodded. “You’re correct. The safety of possible survivors should be top priority.” She looked out over the town again. “We should traverse the rooftops. Traveling the streets would invite too many potential encounters.” -
Predator Jean sat in her seat as comfortably as she could. Having a tail often had its drawbacks, seating was often one of them. When the captain spoke she looked up from her datapad. She spared him and offered a friendly smile. “It's alright captain, I understand. This was rather ‘last minute’ for myself.” She considered him for a moment. This wasn’t an official mission as far as the government or military were concerned. There were no ‘eyes-only’ or ‘need to know’ mandates. But she didn’t think it safe to be completely forthwith, so she opted for an abridged rundown. “There is a potential danger. A high ranking official within WEST may be in danger from an as yet unidentified threat. He is supposed to be on a research mission in Alaska. After some concerning developments, I have volunteered to look into the matter. Hopefully, before it has to become an ‘official problem’ for national security.” She gave the captain a smirk and chuckled. “I can only assume they are happy to let me try first. It allows for greater deniability and hopefully lower budget costs.” Jean joked.

Predator “Of course.” She said reassuringly. “Take a moment.” Jean regarded the screen from over Loyng’s shoulder. She watched the slightly grainy image of ‘Dr North’ as the person(?)… the entity(?)… the thing passed through the airport. She made a ‘hmm’ noise then stood up. “I suppose I should go to Alaska and investigate this myself.” She patted Loyng on the shoulder. “Can I ask you to keep an eye out for anything unusual?” She asked. “I can give you a secure contact line to reach me.” Jean rubs her chin. “Now, I just have to secure travel there.” She remarked and pulled out her phone and began scrolling through her contacts.

Paper Paper smirked as the ninjas he could see in the crowd dropped like flies. “Can you believe it? You guys will never graduate to be real ninjas.” He looked up just in time to see four more drop from the rafters, fleeing from Neko’s illusions. He grinned as they landed. Two took off running again, but the other two attacked. One’s weapon went wide, missing him, and part of him hoped it hadn’t hit a bystander. The second one was dead on though. Leon raised his left arm to block it and the little throwing star embedded itself into his forearm. Paper didn’t even seem to acknowledge it as his right hand reached out and raked his fingers though one of the other ghostly lanterns hanging in the air around him. “Too slow! You guys would lose to turtles.” The lantern fell apart, but in his hand he held several playing card sized pieces of paper. With a flick of his wrist the paper stiffened as he hurled them at one of the two. The paper slam into the first ninja like a series of blows from a heavy-weight boxer. The blank white mask focuses on the last one standing before him as paper slithers around him like a living thing. It collects and grows up into his waiting hand, a staff forming. He twirls it easily without looking away from the last ninja on the stage with him. The shuriken still planted deeply in his left arm seemingly unnoticed. No blood seeping from the wound as he spins the staff. With his right hand he makes a beckoning motion at the second attacker. “Yūkigāreba.” (“If you dare.”)
