So I was thinking Paper uses Create to make a pillar to get get above SQ and use extra effort to attack from above. I’ll take the take the Fatigue. Alternate Power: [23PP] (Additional Descriptors: Paper Weapons) Damage 9 (Extras: Penetrating [5 ranks, Effective Damage 14]; Feats: Accurate 2 [+4 Attack], Improved Critical 2 [18-20], Indirect 3, Precise, Variable Descriptor [Bludgeoning, Piercing, and/or Slashing Damage]) [23/32] Bludgeoning Melee Attack: 20 I should have 1 HP left. If that doesn’t hit I can reroll.

You could always give in and make another Hero. Come, join us. Besides, Luke will be graduating with Leon this year.

Leon was chuckling with Luke when Jonah made a sweeping gesture. The taller boy was obviously calling him out. He glanced at Luke then back at Jonah. Leon wasn’t about to back down now. He stood up a little straighter and shot Rosalind a smile. “Guess I’ll show these scaredy cats how it’s done.” Leon started towards the stage. His mind was racing, trying to think of what to do. Nothing like a gun to your head to get the brain wor- That was it. He had an idea. Hopefully he could pull it off. Onstage, Leon cleared his throat. With a wave of his hand his hoodie dissolved, paper flowing around and reforming on the stage. There’s a short bench and beside it a small desk and chair. The silhouette of a computer sits on the desk and, in the chair, the silhouette of a body lays slumped over in front of the computer. Red slowly creeps into the white of the computer. Leon holds a paper pistol in one hand. Slowly he lowers himself onto the bench and he looks down at the weapon in his hand. His voice when he speaks is loud enough to be heard but carries a somber weight. “My sister died. She died, and all I could do was put a bullet through the neck of the thing she was becoming. Once the virus was active I had lost her. I lost everything important to me.” He looks over at the ‘body’. “The Mason’s never really loved us, we were just a PR stunt. So, we had to rely on each other and we worked so well together. We became one to the greatest news sites in the country. We were on the way to having everything we could’ve wanted. But in the end it cost us everything.” Leon lowers his head. “With your last moments you gave it your all. Asking… begging for others to rise up and demand the truth. To rise up and pry the truth for those that would hold it in the dark, away from the light. And with your last keystrokes… you begged me to finish what the virus started, before you forgot who you were. And god help me, I could never tell you ‘no’.” He lifts the gun up to look at it. “I could follow you. But I know you’d just kick my ass in the afterlife for not see the story to its end. For not making sure the truth was fully exposed. And I know you wouldn’t want me to take revenge. But that’s just it, you’re not here anymore and all I have is my anger. My anger, and a bullet for the man that gave to order that got you killed.” Leon stands up and the paper props collapse. He grins, giving a short bow. “Thank you, I’m here all week.” He jokes as he hops down from the stage to rejoin the group. ”If anyone else needs props just ask.” He offers.

Paper was ready to leap into action when a blur that was La Puma blew past him. Good damn, he was jealous of that speed. But he grinned as he watched her tear into the drider-wanna-be. Well, he was grinning until… “Crap, crap, crap, nope, crap…” The paper pole was in his hands before he finished the motion to thrust it down. He twisted as the leverage pushed him over the wave of tiny legged horrors. He abandoned the pole as the tiny spiders already started swarming up it. Paper landed on a small paper platform suspended in mid air, the pole collapsing into the black mass below. “Okay, fuck all of that.” He turned to see Luke had pushed through the wave and literally launched into an attack of his own. It was followed closely by something burying itself into the icy wall mere inches from the spider-queen’s head. It had move so fast he only saw the results. He glanced back at Angelic with a raised eyebrow. He recognized profanity when he heard it. Paper cracked a smirk, thinking he would have to get her to tell him just what that meant later. Back to the problem at hand. Paper decided leveling the playing field a little would be best. The three of them could keep the spider-thing preoccupied. Hopping down from his platform he ran across the icy expanse towards the web. With light tugs, trails of paper ribbon unrolled from the little case at the back of his belt. As he approached the giant webbing all it took was a flick of his wrist and the ribbons responded. ”Brace yourselves.” He yells up at the two men and he slides to a stop. Swinging his arms in short arcs, the razor sharp paper ribbons slice through the threads in an attempt to free the victims.

Ranged (I assume) attack: 15… what the hell, burn another HP to reroll: 14+10= 24
-
Pretty sure Leon's gonna be on the naughty list for a looooong time.
-
Would it be a regular attack against the web to attempt to free the hostages?
-
That is a terrifying mental image. Ref save: 13 Hero Point to reroll: 18 Well that didn’t help. Still Evasion 2 so half on miss. Fort save: 20 at least I passed that.

Leon was glad to see Carmen was mostly okay. Eira seemed agitated as Carmen took a knee to catch her breath. Leon took the moment to slip a piece of paper into her pants leg where it covered the wound like a bandage. “That should hold until we get you home.” He stood and gave her a friendly teasing. “Next time, have you considered getting out of the way.” He grinned and chuckled. The teens hurried after Eira as they passed further down the icy tunnel. It wasn’t long though before they reached a cavernous room of ice. The sky was visible through a giant hole above, but Leon’s attention was drawn to the equally impressive web spanning the cavern. Two figures dressed in red hung, trapped on the silky fibers as a giant spider with a small golden crown crept towards them. “Hmm…” Leon’s brain attempted to process what he was seeing and hearing. He blinked a few times. “Eira, you gots some ‘splaining to do.” He said, mimicking a Cuban accent. Dropping the accent Paper pulled two handfuls of cards from his hips and struck a ready pose. “But first, let’s put the Australian-sized Charlotte down under.”

Paper was grinning smugly as the first enemy was neatly taken care of. He watched as Puma easy tore through another icy assailant. This was going to be easy, he thought to himself. The icicles retaliated and the thunder of their rifles echoed in the crystalline cavern. Paper smirked as their icy shots were meaningless to Angelic. The distinct sound of flesh being torn was lost in the echoes of the gunfire, but Puma’s outburst easily drew his attention. The small splash of red against the ice was a stark contrast. The humor of the situation drained away and anger quickly filled its place. The paper in his pouches were already vibrating when his arms snapped out. Like a swarm of hornets from a kicked hive, card-sized paper filled the air around him. As one they suddenly stopped, hanging in mid-air. With a thrust of one arm the swarm was in motion again. A vortex of paper poured around the heroes. Even as they sliced through the ice constructs with steel hard deadly accuracy, they slipped past Luke, Puma, and Angelic like water around stones. In the end paper littered the ground, buried in the ice like shrapnel. Leon took steaming breaths to calm himself. His eyes settled over the results of his attack and his shivered a little. He forgets sometimes how dangerous his power can be if he isn’t careful. He quickly looks away to his friends. “Is she okay.” He asked as he jogs forward to join the others.

Actually, I do. Alternate Power: [32PP] (Additional Descriptors: Paper Barrage) Damage 9 (Range: 9 10-ft Increments, 90 ft Max; Extras: Area [General, Cone], Penetrating [5 ranks, Effective Damage 14]; Feats: Accurate 2 [+4 Attack], Improved Critical 2 [18-20], Indirect 3, Selective, Subtle, Variable Descriptor [Bludgeoning, Piercing, and/or Slashing Damage]; Drawback: Medium [Paper]) [32/32] Selective so it avoids allies. Reflex save DC19 for each icicle. Then, TOU vs DC24/19.

Thought about adding it to the beginning of my next post but decided to edit the last post. And extra post count was tempting, but I didn’t want to mess up the flow.

Leon grinned at Eira’s comeback. “I’m flattered, but I already have a girlfriend.” He chuckled and nodded. “Good ol’ fashion ‘snatch-n-run’. Sounds like a plan.” As the small group of would be rescuers continued through the winding tunnels Leon was glancing around. There was something his old autonomous acquaintance wasn’t saying. If it was that easy, she wouldn’t have needed them. He thought about this absently as he trudged on. “So, Eira, anything you wanna share-“ And then the icy-children ambushed them. “Son-ova-“ Paper jumped to his fingers as he snapped his hand in a short arch. Index card sized pieces of paper shot out at one of the shouting orders. The papers slapping on to it and attempting to bind it. Edit: The first piece slapped across the mouth of the leader, cutting off any further orders. Then, like an angry swarm, paper slammed into the small ice creature and plastered themselves to it. Defying logic they clung on like a second skin, layering and tightening until all the golem-like creature could only wobble and threaten to fall over.

A small cloud of breath puffed out as Leon exhaled, glancing around the glacial interior. “Hmm. I can honestly say, not where I’d thought I’d spend the day.” He comment, looking down he tested his footing. He smirked and glanced over at Luke. “Hey.” He paused and grinned before finishing in a sing-song tone. “Do you wanna build a snow man?” Leon laughed and followed after Eira. They walked deeper into the icy caves. It was cold and still, like it hadn’t been disturbed in a long time. But the broken snow and ice of the path they followed told him they weren’t alone here. Even though they were on a ‘mission’ he kinda wished Neko was here, and not just because he could cuddle up to her for some extra warmth. She would appreciate the quiet beauty. Maybe he could swing another trip if he buttered up Eira. Speaking of which, he thought as she directed them on. “Valid question fearless leader. Just where are we?” He spared a glance around again in a vain attempt to spot something resembling a landmark. “She’s right.” He called ahead to Eira after Carmen pointed out she had forgone the cold weather outfit. “It’s not nice to rub it in others’ faces that you could two shits about the cold.” He teased her with a friendly smirk.

Leon The feeling of flight was both alien and exhilarating. Leon could feel the air currents and some strange instincts not his own told him how to navigate them as he circled down to the street below. Sharp talons clicked on a car hood as crow-Leon landed lightly, only to be replaced by a crouching regular-Leon. “Wow.” He exhaled. “Just when I thought going to Claremont couldn’t surprise me. That… was weird. Cool. But, weird.” Leon hopped down from the car hood and looked over at Shooting Star. “See, that’s why I can’t understand how people wear those things. Everyone okay?” He asked as he looked around at the others, but he was obviously looking for ones in particular when the armored figure seemed to drop out of the sky. He remember see this hero on the TV, she had become something of a celebrity at first. He looked nervously at his brother and sister as the armored helmet regarded them a bit longer than he liked. But when she silenced the older man and seemed to dismiss him, Leon was relieved.
