Leon never took his eyes off the giant golden eye as his hand fumbled, reaching out to find his roommate’s arm. Finding it, he grabbed it firmly and swallowed back his instinctive reflex to turn and run. “I know I was joking about the whole dragon thing…” Leon’s voice was low and tight. “But ah, I don’t think we got this.” He glanced over at Luke.

Leon Both of Leon’s eyebrows rose as he glanced around the three other students. “Right.” Stepping up closer to Neko, he hesitates a moment, before cautiously placing a hand on her back in what he hopes is a supportive gesture. He really hoped he wasn’t overstepping his bounds as he smiled down at her, then back at the other two. “Boston? Neat." He gave Noel a smile. "Not in the handbook?” He chuckled. “Well, there are plenty of cuties. The student body is like 99% friendly and will have your back. The classwork’s tedious, but the teachers can be cool. The field trips can be real adventures. And if you ever need to sneak out, you can always find someone willing to help.” Leon’s smile turned a mischievous grin at the last bit. “Seriously though, if you need anything or have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask for help.” Was he actually talking the school up? When exactly did this place start to feel like a home to him? Leon dismissed the thought mentally for the moment. “Carmen here’s been around for a bit. I’m sure she’d be happy to show you the campus if you like.” He glanced at Carmen inquisitively.

Leon Neko’s smile had his heart skipping a beat. And his temperature rising when she took his hand. That was it… he was twitterpated. He showed Neko how his gift could be used as a hair clip when she liked. Letting her lead him back to the little stall, the irony of being asked to keep money safe not escaping him. Leon happily held Neko’s hand as the two headed back towards the dorms. This was the perfect chance for some alone time. Then they happened upon Carmen and a new kid Leon hadn’t met yet. The two seemed to be having a tense moment and he wasn’t sure if they should step in when Neko took the initiative. When she introduced him, Leon gave Carmen a friendly smile and a nod, he gave the new kid a friendly smile as well and short wave. “Hey. The late arrivals are slipping in, so you probably got a few minutes before it starts.” Leon glanced between the two. “Is everything cool?” He asked noticing Carmen’s tension.

Snap-maw & TKO Snap-Maw let out a cry of surprise as the giant hand grabbed him and flung him across the room. He slammed into the other villain, sending them both into the wall with an audible ‘thud’. The telekinetic, though, was able to soften the blow and he shoved the shark-man off of him angrily. “Get off me you water-logged idiot.” TKO climbed to his feet and turned his attention to the heroes just in time to watch the new teens join Paper only to have the wall of wood cut them off from sight. “What the-?” “Da hell?” Snap-Maw echoed then snarled and charged at the barrier. He slammed into the wooden barrier, his claws tearing long gouges in its surface. TKO gloured at the display. “Stop acting like an animal!” He smeared as he thrust a hand out at the makeshift wall. Invisible force hammered into it like a cannonball, showering the teens, Paper and Artificer in splinters and leaving a hole through it large enough for a man to crawl through. The blood stained face of the shark-man appeared in the opening as vicious, razor sharp teeth spread into a grin. Snap-Maw taunted the youngsters. “You’re gonna need a bigger wall.” Fly-Boy Fly-Boy watched as his cohorts were tossed and knocked down. He turned, arm raised to attack but was stopped by the newly formed wall. With a silent curse he looked back towards the office where their leader was attempting to fend off the other teens. Picking one of the ones he could see he flung his arm out, sending another needle like barb sailing at Neko again. The toxin coated barbed needle striking its target. “Yes” He cried triumphantly. “Two in a row.” Bear-Knuckle Vivid images bombarded the former wrestler, overwhelming him. He dropped the splintered remains of the desk as his hands swung wildly through the air at things only he could see. “Blast you!” He roared definitely as he raged on. “When I get my hands on any of you little shits, I’m going to squeeze you until you pop!” Just as suddenly the world seemed to vanish around him again as both sight and sound were stolen away from him. He stumbles back, away from where he remembered the teen heroes being when something he could only assume was the giant wolf bit his arm. With another cry of rage he yanks his arm away, leaving bloody trails dripping on the floor. Almost instinctively, he raises his other arm to defend himself just in time for his massive claws to absorb the furious strikes of the young dragon hero. Blow after blow lands, forcing Bear-Knuckle to be driven back even further. His feet sinking into the sandy remains of the once office wall. And even though he can’t hear himself, the growing snarl reverberates through him, erupting into a sound more animal than anything human should be able to make. Heavyweight In the hall, lost amongst the yelling, smashing and other sounds of fighting, the subtle ding of one of the elevators chimes.

Leon couldn’t help but grin a little wider as he saw Neko’s tail twitch. ‘Well… here goes everything.’ He thought to himself and mentally forced himself to breathe normally. “This trick requires a little audience participation.” Slowly, he reaches out to take one of her warm hands. Placing the small paper box into her palm he reaches for her other hand. Taking that hand, he gently places it over the box, hiding it from sight. Cupping Neko’s hands in his own, he looks up from her hands to smile at her. Lifting her hands he bows his head slightly, taking a small breath and pursing his lips as if to kiss her fingers. Instead, he gently blew across her fingers. Neko could feel the paper rustle in her palm and Leon slowly released her hands and took a half step back. He gave her a smile, waiting for her to open her hands. When she does, in her hands the box is gone and in its place a small paper branch with two tiny buds fits easily in one palm. “Hmm.” Leon gives a feigned look of contemplation and leans a little closer, as if to look closer at the tiny branch. “One of those should have opened. You know, I think I read in a book somewhere that a kiss can open a flower.” He says in what he thinks is a joking tone, thinking Neko would look cute giving the tiny bud a little peck.

Leon was a little lost in thought and hadn’t heard Neko climb down at first. To his credit, when she did speak from beside him he didn’t jump or even flinch. He turned his head to look at her. “I’m okay.” He said, his smile returning. “I was just worried you might not want to talk to me anymore, and it made me sad. I’m glad I was wrong.” Was he being corny? Yes. Was he being sincere? Also, yes. The paper butterfly still perched on Neko’s ear fluttered its wings. Leon turned to face her holding the small folded paper box in his hand, offering it to her. “Can I show you a trick?” He flashed her a grin.

Outdated; Spacefurry's submitting a new request in the 2023 thread. - Fox Alright, update for Paper for his senior year. Some minor changes here and there for grammar. Added to History section. Edits to stats and powers to reflect increase to PL12, built 10. I think I got everything, but please feel free to doublecheck. Paper Power Level: 12, but built as 10 (184/190PP) Unspent Power Points: 6PP Trade-Offs: None In Brief: Reformed juvenile criminal with the power to control and shape paper, still has a slight authority problem Catchphrase: None Theme: ‘The Anthem’ by Good Charlotte Alternate Identity: Leon Moore (Secret) Birthplace: Seattle, WA Residence: Claremont Academy Base of Operations: Claremont Academy Occupation: Student Affiliations: Claremont Academy Family: Foster brother and sister Description: Age: 18 (DoB: March 19, 2004) Apparent Age: 18 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5' 11" Weight: 180 lbs. Eyes: Gray Hair: Black Description: Black hair, cut short and brushed back except for a few bangs that won't cooperate. Leon keeps himself in shape, and trains to keep his agility. He likes to dress casually in his free time, anime/cartoon themed t-shirts and jeans usually. His ‘costume’ used to typically consist of a black short sleeved shirt with red trim, blue jeans and sneakers. He has though agreed to a change of colors to reflect the school’s colors. This is easy for him since his ‘costume’ is usually made of paper made to look and act like regular clothing. This is accompanied by a slim, black backpack with a few various books in it at any time, along with some personal items. Several small black pockets on straps around arms (1 on each), thighs (2 on each) and 2 each hip of his belt. Each pocket is large enough to hold a deck of index card sized paper. Hanging on the back of the belt is a case that holds 2 large rolls of paper about the width of receipt tape and hundreds of yards long. History: Born in Seattle to a teen mother, she moved to Freedom City when he was still young with her then boyfriend. When Leon began to show signs of not being ‘normal’ the man abandoned them. His mother felt she could not take care of a ‘special’ child and surrendered him to the foster system without telling them of his ‘nature’. Shortly thereafter she returned to her family in Seattle. Leon has not had any contact with her since. In the system since age 8, Leon was moved from home to home several times, unable to settle, acting up, and trying to run away. At first, he blamed his powers for his mother abandoning him. When he was 11 he landed in the same foster house as two other children hiding their powers. With their help he accepted his powers and embraced them. The three agreed that they could only rely on each other and swore to always be there for each other. Believing the system was a failure and that no one else could or would see them as more than either a burden or a paycheck, the three ran away together and turned to small crimes to do what they thought they needed to survive. At the age of 16, Leon wanted to prove to his brother and sister that he could work solo; he broke into the Freedom City Museum to attempt to steal something. Before he could secure his prize an explosion rocked the building. In the resulting confusion a FCPD detective that was in the building entered the showroom Leon was in. A second, smaller explosion struck and part of the building collapsed inward. Without thinking, he moved to protect the detective with a shield of paper over them both, but he wasn’t fast enough and Leon was knocked out. After the events at the museum Leon was hospitalized. He woke days later to find he had lost his left arm mid-bicep, but thanks to his quick reaction the detective had escaped with only minor injuries. During the hearing that followed, the court gave special considerations for his selfless actions and young age, while he would not turn evidence against his siblings, a deal was reached. A representative from Claremont Academy had petitioned on his behalf and Leon agreed to attend the private school under probation. If, and when, Leon successfully graduates from Claremont he would be given a clean slate with the courts and his juvenile records will be sealed. At first he was rebellious and troublesome, but teachers quickly saw the seeds for a good kid buried under the anger of a rough life. In the two years he has attended Claremont Leon has grown in both power and responsibility, although he would never admit to the latter himself. Personality & Motivation: Leon has always been a bit of a show off. He was also the most ‘energetic’ of his trio of foster siblings. Not bad kids by nature, they simply felt let down and abandoned by an overtaxed system. Although feeling they had to do what they had to, to survive, none of them ever wanted to hurt anyone. Leon would never give up his siblings, and would never turn his back on them. He isn’t likely to trust anyone quickly, and even if he does, he would just be waiting for the other shoe to drop. If asked why he saved the officer he just shrugs and dismisses it as an act of stupidity on his part, not willing to admit he couldn’t stand to see someone get hurt. Power Descriptions: Leon can control and manipulate paper, altering its shape and strength at his will. He can make paper stronger than metal and sharper than any normal blade. He can make it solid enough to resist liquids and gas. He can even have it resist heat and fire to a point. It can easily protect from an explosion with little harm to the paper, but repeated or continued exposure could eat away at the paper eventually. Shaping it, he can create nearly anything from simple weapons and gear to clothing and simple golems. Many pieces of smaller papers can be melded into a single, seamless construction and when done with them the constructs fall apart into their original pieces, or what’s left of them. Aside from his power over paper, or perhaps more because of it, Leon has taught himself how to use simple weapons. These would cover most blades, clubs/maces, spears/staves, bows and arrows, and throwing objects. All things he can easily create with paper. Skill wise, Leon is quick and agile from practicing often. He is not overly strong, equal to anyone his size that works out every so often. He has also developed a firm sense of balance. Complications: And I don’t give a damn about my bad reputation: Reputation: Leon and his foster siblings have records with the juvenile courts, and he doesn’t care if others know. Being predisposed to thinking that, in the end, everyone is looking out for themselves. It’s just a flesh wound: Disability: Leon lost his left arm not long ago during a robbery attempt. During the robbery Leon and a police detective were caught in a building collapse, he protected the officer, but his arm was crushed mid bicep. Leon uses his powers to create and maintain a paper arm that looks real enough. Leon didn’t notice cat-Simon as he scurried up the tree. He was more focused on the glimpse of the rare and elusive ‘tree-bound-catgirl’. He grinned a little as she sank back out of sight. The paper butterfly fluttered around a few moments before landing lightly on one of her ears. Pulling out another few sheets Leon started folding again. He didn’t say anything at first, but when it was obvious she wasn’t going to say anything he decided to start. “I’m sorry.” He make another fold. “You know I wouldn’t actually try to get you moved.” It was the only thing he could think of that he had said. As he waited to see if she would respond all he could think about was how, ever since the pool, this weird tension had been growing between them. He blamed himself for it. He had started reading too much into little things, he thought. Owain’s words still bounced around in the back of his mind. Maybe he should just ask her… what was worst that could happen? He paused mid-fold as a couple worst case scenarios tumbled around his head. Neko didn’t seem the type the balk or laugh, maybe an anonymous mention she could share in one of her streams. His smile faltered a little.

Leon hadn’t noticed the look on Neko’s face at his teasing joke. He was busy trying to put Bert at ease. And his attempt seemed to work as the boy visibly relaxed. As Jonah approached he couldn’t not notice the boy. “Lotta tall ones this year.” He chuckled as he introduced himself. “Jonah, huh? Ya, I’m gonna be calling you Big Blue.” He chuckled as he checked his clipboard before smiling over at Carmen. “I was kiddin-“ He started to say when Neko nipped his hand and ran off. “Ouch!” Leon yelped more out of surprise than pain. He looked back in time to see the cat girl flee up the nearby tree. He frowned a little before smiling back at Holly. “It’s fine.” Leon glanced at his hand then held it up. “See, no harm no foul.” He shot a glance back at the tree again, his expression softening. He gave Holly an apologetic smile and thumbed back at the tree. “I should see to that before someone calls the fire department about a cat in a tree.” Everyone else seemed to be getting along so Leon took the chance to slip away. He approached the tree casually. Setting the clipboard down he leaned against it and produced a piece of paper. Humming quietly, he smiled as he began to hand fold it this way and that. A few moments later a simple paper butterfly sat in his palm. Lifting his eyes towards the branch’s above he gave it a little toss and it was airborne. It’s paper wings flittering as it lazily circled upwards towards the huddled girl amongst the branches.

Paper Leon nodded agreeably, after all who really understood girls. He was about to say so when Owain casually dropped the landmine right in front of him. “Ya, girls can be pretty confusing.” He chuckled. “And I know being from another time doesn’t help.” Leon added in a more serious tone as he gave Owain a pat on the shoulder. “But you two have made it work.” He gave the other boy a grin. “You guys have leaned on each other, and I understand that better than you might think.” Leon gave a small sigh and shook his head. “She’s cute, confident, and fun to be around. I know a lot of the boys and girls in and out of school have hit on her. But you know her better than anyone else, and I’m sure you know a don’t stand a cha-” Leon paused mid sentence as his brain finally caught up with his mouth, leaving him at a loss for words. His brow furrowed a little as he stared at Owain for a moment. “Wait… what did you just say…” -click-- 55 replies

Paper Leon gave Carmen a nod and smile before he glanced back towards the table, having heard Owain talking to someone else but not recognizing the new voice. He literally did a double take as he noticed the new girl’s impressive height. He mouthed a silent ‘wow’ and turned his attention back to his clipboard just in time for Bert to answer him. “Miller… Albert MIl-” His eyes skimmed the page. “Ah, got it.” Leon nodded. He started to tilt his head to look at Holly when he realized she was talking to him in his head and he stopped. He glanced at her and raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything. He turned his attention back to Bert and tapped his clipboard. “Alright now, don’t think that just because you got the whole ‘cool cyborg’ thing going on you’re gonna get special treatment. My roommate’s a dragon, so it takes a lot to impress me.” He gave Bert a friendly smile. “You’re just like everyone else here. We’re all different in our own ways, as the teachers would say. As of now, you’re just one of the guys.” His smile became a grin and he offered Bert a fistbump, hoping he had been as encouraging as he was trying to be. “I think you’re gonna find a lot of new friends here.” He turned his attention back to Holly, smiling, he nodded. “I would love to encourage a love of paper in someone. Don’t get me wrong, digital is a godsend, but nothing feels quite like paper.” He chuckled a little at Neko and put a hand on her shoulder. “Play nice or I’ll get your room switch so you’re rooming with Carmen here.” Leon teased then made a show of looking around. He leaned conspiratorially towards the new arrivals. “Speaking of which… Before I see if the little mountain with the legs behind me, that Owain is flirting, with needs help.” He thumbed back towards Maddie. “Just between us, if anyone wants to make sure they get roomed together just let me know. I have a way with paperwork.” He flashed them all a mischievous smile.

Teens The two teens move to Paper’s side. The girl creates a wall of wood that divides the room. This effectively separates Artificer, Paper and the teens from the villains and the other heroes. A device forming in the boy’s hand. Paper Paper takes the time to clear his dazed state. @Nerdzul Nightscale is up.
