  1. Paper Paper ached as he began to pick himself up. Suddenly another pair of hands was clearing wooden debris from him and someone was asking if he was okay. ”Ya, I’m… I’m okay.” Then he recognized the voice and remembered who he’d seen. His head snapped up as the girl yelled at the for them to leave. “No.” Shakily he got his feet under him and stood. ”I can’t leave my friends.” He shook his head to clear it. ”What are you two doing here?”
  2. GM The teens watched as the chair smashed into Paper, knocking the young hero back several feet. instantly the two were running across the room, stopping at his side. “Are you okay?” The boy was asking as he helped swipe aside the splintered remains even as the girl moved in front of the two. She gave TKO an angry sneer as the villain disentangle himself from the shake-man and slammed her hand down on the floor. With a flash of light and glowing circles the floor buckled and undulated before a wall of wood erupted out of it. It snapped up to the ceiling and spread out across the room, effectively dividing it in half. ”We need to go.” She shot back at Paper and the boy. ”Now!” A pistol handled device seemed to grow out of the boy’s hand and he nodded to the girl.
  3. @Avenger Assembled Will save for the Intimidate: 14 That’s a success for Neko. I’m guessing you’re trying to demoralize. Neko reaffirms the blindness and deafness. Toughness save for Owain’s attack: 26 (-2 from bruise and -2 from Intimidate). = 22 Barely missed it, anther bruise for the big guy. @Nerdzul Nightscale made his save so he felt the stab of the needle like barb but resisted the drain.
  4. Leon gave Neko a smile as she slipped from behind their little makeshift sales counter. Turning his attention back to the others in time to see Simon’s little show. “Show off.” Leon smirked at Simon as he shifted between human and cat, then back again. But it was a friendly smirk from a fellow ‘show off’. Well known to his friends as one, he was sure they would give home the side eye for calling someone else for it. He looked back at Holly and nodded as he regarded the clipboard in his hand, seeming to flip to a random page, but really the papers told him where her name was. “Holly…, Holly…, Holl- ah here we go.” He glanced up as Holly introduced her friends “Gwen?” He flashed her a bright smile and flipped to another with a nod. Leon looked over at Bert, one eyebrow raised as he took in what he could see of the boy. In next moment he just gave a small shrug and glanced back at the clipboard. “What’s the last name? Only had one Gwen, but there are like three Bert’s.” He asked unfazed then looked over at Simon again. “What about you? Got a name, or can we call you something like Mr. Wigglesworth?” He teased with another smirk.
  5. A couple of the dollar bills Neko was counting twitched, then rolled up into a small ball. A moment later the ball unrolled into a small origami bunny. The paper bunny lifted it head and sat up as if looking around. It took a few hops and stopped to looks around again. Leon appeared from the crowds, a playful grin on his face. “There you are.” He addressed Luke and gave his roommate a fist-bump and teased him with a wave of the clipboard he was holding. Luke hadn’t been the only one who had pick the wrong day to volunteer. “Having fun yellin at the noobs? I could hear you across the promenade.” He glanced around, giving Owain a nod before smiling at Carmen and Neko. He gave Neko a quick, playful wink as the bunny continued to hop a few times in a circle before finally stopping and settling into being just a small rabbit of folded singles. “Well now, if it isn’t my favorite two cat-girls. You’re both ready for the new year, right?” Leon turned his attention to Holly and flashed a friendly smile. “And I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure miss…” Leon flinched a little. He looked away into the crowd of students to point at one and yelled. “Hey! Did you just take a bite out of that book? Whyyyy? Know what, I don’t care. Do that again and I’ll drag you in front of the headmistress and you can explain why to her.” He probably couldn’t actually do that, but they didn’t know that and usually a stern look and threat is enough. He turned his attention back to the others again. “Sorry, freshman.” He shrugged and gave Holly an apologetic smirk.
  6. Leon glanced at Owain’s hand as the other put it on his shoulder, removed it, then put it back again. He gave Owain an inquisitive look. As the other boy spoke Leon nodded appropriately. He knew the two were not just out of place, but out of time. And while he hadn’t directly thought about it, what Owain was saying was obvious and he was a little surprised at himself for not thinking about it beforehand. Leon stared blankly at Owain for a moment before laughing. “Oh my god… You had me for a minute there. Did Luke put you up to the is?” He glanced back the way the two had walked to see if his roommate had followed them to witness the prank. “Not gonna lie, you really had me in the first half.” When he looked back at Owain he was still chuckling. When he actually looked back at the other boy’s serious expression Leon’s laughter quickly tapered off and he gave Owain a curious look. “Holy hell, you’re serious aren’t you.” Leon quickly raised his hands defensively as if to fend off any anger from Owain. “Sorry man, no offense meant.” He lowered one hand and rubbed the back of his head with the other. “Look, we’re just friends having a little fun. It’s not like I’d actually have a real shot with her or anything. Or any of the girls to be honest.” Leon muttered the last bit before giving a short exhaled sigh. “I only have one more year here and just wanted to enjoy being close to girls that weren’t trying to kill me, my friends, or a club full of innocent bystanders.” He spread his hands a hint of defeat creeping into his voice, completely different from the normal cockiness he projects. “A girlfriend just doesn’t seem to be in the cards for me.” Leon seemed to pull himself together again and he forced a smile. “What I’m saying is, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m not gonna get close enough to hurt her.”
  7. Time passed as it did for youth at a pool; wet, wild, and far too quickly. Neko had eventually abandoned his lap and he had apologized to Naomi for anything he’d say to embarrass her. He had used his paper to create a beach ball and a couple of floats for any who wanted to use them. He’d hopped into the water himself to join the fun with his roommate and the others. All in all, the day was turning out nicely. Warm weather, warm water, good music, cool friends and hot girls. Just what the doctor ordered, Leon grinned to himself as he glanced around at said girls. ‘Even Wilona looks pretty cute when she’s not running her mouth and being a massive pain in the a-‘ Owain broke into his thoughts and Leon looked around to him. “Sup?” He asked giving his schoolmate a friendly smile. “Hm? Oh… ah, okay.” He raised an eyebrow at Owain’s conspiratorial hushed tone, but nodded and followed him off around the pool house. Once the other boy seemed satisfied with their privacy he waited for Owain to speak.

  9. @Avenger Assembled if I’m tracking right, in the main open space Paper and Artificer are trading blows with Snap-Maw and TKO. Fly-Boy was also in the main room making ranged attacks against whoever he could at the time. (once at Neko: missed, once at Nightscale: hit but waiting on a Fort save) Wolf-Owain, Shooting Star, and Nightscale are in melee with Bear-Knuckle in a side office. Neko was using illusions so I assumed she was at the office doorway-(ish) for line of sight on Bear-Knuckle, but not actually in the office proper (i.e. not in melee range) The older man Bear-Knuckle dragged into the office is cowering in the corner behind Wolf-Owain who had gotten between him and the villain. The two teens turned one of the walls in the office to sand and fled into the next office. They are now in the main room as well. All the party attendees and armed goons have fled. Neko’s cats did see one other villain leave the area prior to the heroes entering. He has not returned yet.
  10. That definitely hits. Opposed grapple: 25 You got him and he’s airborne. And another hit. I couldn’t find any rules specific to hitting a villain with another villain so what you said sounds find to me. TKO toughness save DC 25: 26 Snap-maw toughness save DC 26: 27 They both scraped by, but at least he’s on the other side of the room now. @Avenger Assembled Owen and Neko are up
  11. Predator Jean watched Persephone as the goddess graciously accepted Ashley’s gift. It took a moment to steel herself against the entity’s inspiring effects. But she managed to allow them to roll off her without being rude. She continued to smile politely through it. It did not escape her attention as the pin was handed it off to a attendant that appeared, seemingly un-beckoned. When Persephone spoke, it was obvious she was addressing the gathering as a whole. Her attention returned to the two of them again and with just the slightest of touches Jean could feel her hackles wanting to rise. It took another effort of Will to resist the urge as Persephone bid them a farewell and left them to mingle with other guests. Jean watched after Persephone as the goddess all but disappeared into the crowd. It would be impossible not to see the commotion that followed her as she moved amongst the ‘mere mortals’ that fussed and bid for her attention. Jean allowed her smile to drop as a neutral, calculating expression settled in its place. From the corner of her attention she noticed Ashley pull out her phone, something she read obviously upset her momentarily but the agent seemed to calm herself with little trouble. Once Ashley finished and replaced her phone Jean turned her attention back to her. Jean quirked an eyebrow and smiled again. “I think this is starting to become either a potentially exciting or potentially dangerous evening.” Her smile became a grin. “And it would have been woeful if I had missed it.” She took Ashley’s arm again. “Now, what other life threatening introductions can you make?” Jean gave a throaty chuckle as she teased Ashley.
  12. Toughness save for Bear-Knuckle Vs DC29: 15 Ouch. Nat 1. That leaves him staggered and dazed. @Dr Archeville Artificer is up

  15. GM Snap-Maw “What are you babbling about?” Snap-Maw snarled then tilted his head to peer at Artificer. “Do, do you think I really crawled out of the ocean? Ha, ha-ha…” The shark man’s laugh was strange and guttural thanks to the oversized mouth and twisted anatomy. “I was born in the Bronx, a scrawny little nothing. Wasting my life trying scrape by in life, til the Doc said he could change that. Promised me the power to take what I wanted. What I deserved.” He focused on Artificer again and sneered. “So I’m here to take everything I can.” The shark-man made an exaggerated lunge, snapping his massive teeth filled mouth at Artificer. Fly-boy Fly-boy seems More then happy to stay out of actual melee as more spines on his arms fan out. He makes another swiping motion, sending more of the needle sharp projectiles across the room. His intended target is the young man that joined the fray against the gang’s leader. “Yes!” He grins as this time the nasty spines find their victim this time. Several of them pierce Nightscale’s thick skin. The spines themselves do no real harm, but the toxins they carry quick attack the boy’s body as it attempts to sap his health. TKO “You couldn’t handle my ‘A’ game runt.” TKO sneered. His hand snapped out at a nearby chair. “And you should pay attention when you’re in the ring.” He smirked as he thrust his hand at Paper. The wooden chair obeyed the will of the telekinetic, lunching across the room and smashing into Paper. The force of the blow shattering the chair and knocking the wind out of he boy and sending him tumbling backwards several feet. With a laugh TKO grabs a walkie-talkie from his belt. “Heavy, where are you?” He asked almost casually as he watches Paper groans amongst the splintered remains of the chair. Bear-Knuckle The bear of a man shakes his head as if trying to shake off Neko’s illusions with a growl. In his blind flailing his hand finds the large wooden desk the computer sat upon. Duller splintering echoes a crash from the main room as massive claws dig into the desk. With a deep, throaty snarl Bear-Knuckle effortlessly hefts the desk with hand. A cry of rage accompanies the creek of wood as the desk becomes a makeshift weapon. As close as he is, Owain can’t avoid the desk as Bear-Knuckle swings it. With some luck, the older man the wolf had placed himself in front of is missed. Nightscale can feel the rush of air in the wake of the desk as it swings past his face only to smash solidly into Shooting Star and shatter harmlessly against her. The force sending splintered fragments of the desk out into the main room barely missing Neko.

  17. Leon glanced back at Neko. She was warm. Were all girls this warm? He could swear he saw faint striping in her blush as she looked up at him in that languid way cats do. This was the closest he’d ever been to a girl. Well one that wasn’t trying to beat him up. He felt his pulse quicken just a bit and he would swear she could probably hear it. He wasn’t as warm as she was, but even still, given time the cat-girl might notice that his left arm didn’t radiate warmth like the rest of him. It wasn’t cold, just ambient in temperature. “No problem.” He smiled a little nervously. “I know. I may have caught one or two clips.” There was no way he was going to admit he followed her right now. He’d never donated, that would have just been weird since she was a classmate and friend. “I loved your reaction to those goldfish-shaped crackers.” Leon chuckled and glanced away again, using the ruckus in the water as an excuse. He smiled at his friends, even Wilona seemed to be letting herself relax. It seemed to be contagious as he felt himself relax a little too. His blush faded a little as he smiled and chuckled. He looked to Naomi, just now noticing she had scooted closer, and felt his blush return again. Two cute girls, this close and friendly. Leon was just waiting for the universe to balance out and have one of them attack him. Then again neither of them was a red-head. Maybe just have something fall from the sky and knock him out. Leon honestly thought Naomi was asking about playing in the water like the others at first. “What? Oh ya, lots of fun. You should try it yourself.” He grinned for a moment before it slipped, realizing what she was really asking. Leon’s cheeks burned again as it dawned on him what he just suggested.
  18. Snap-Maw Attempts to feint against Artificer. Bluff check: 11 @Dr Archeville I’m pretty sure you can beat that with a Sense Motive check. Fly-Boy Targets Nightscale with Drain Toughness (ranged). Ranged attack: 27 I believe that hits the dragon boy @Nerdzul Need a Fort save, DC19 TKO Ranged attack against a distracted Paper. 19. Jean, most likely like everyone else, turned her attention towards the opening portal as their hostess appeared. Her own research prior to the party allowed her to identify the woman as Persephone even before she spoke. The goddess didn’t project any obvious effect as far as Jean could tell, but strongly radiated a commanding presence. Perhaps Jean was just overly cautious, but she would keep her words in mind should anything unfortunate come about. Ashley’s sudden demeanor shift was a bit surprising but Jean ‘rolled with it’ as they say. She gave Set what she hoped looked like a mock, exaggerated look of acceptance. Like one would express when a friend does something embarrassing but you’re willing to indulge them. She gave Set a small wave as she allowed Ashley to drag her along as the agent plunged through the crowd to stand before their hostess. Jean released Ashley’s arm and gave Persephone a gracious bow as her escort curtsied. Having a tail made it much easier to do so. “Your Grace.” She offered the goddess polite smile, allowing Ashley to ‘gush’ over their hostess. Only after she seemed done did Jean speak up. “I’m afraid I possess little of my own currently, so I cannot present an offering of my own.” Jean tried to sound humble and apologetic, once again acting as the ‘straight man’ of the duo as it were. “I can only offer my gratitude at your kind invitation, and hope to someday repay the generosity.” She added, taking Ashley’s lead as she gave the their host small bow of her head, then smiled.
  20. Leon was watching his roommate when the nearby pile of coins collapsed. He started at the same time as Luke, his attention snapping in that direction. His eyes looking for any signs of movement. “Ya.” He agreed and licked his lips nervously as he nodded. Leon absently patted Chewie before putting his hand on Luke’s shoulder. The pain was already fading but better safe then sorry. The trio made their way slowly, careful whenever the began to deeply. A few times they had to circumvent an unstable looking mound of wealth. The last thing they needed was to be buried beneath a truck load of precious metals and stones. More then once Leon spotted something that made his fingers twitch with a desire to snatch it up, but it was easily suppressed by instinctive self-preservation. The need to figure out where they were and how they could get home was a stronger desire. “You know, a few pocketfuls of this stuff and we’d be living large for a good while. A bagful and we be set for life.” Leon shook his head and sighed. “From now on, I’m going to sleep fully dressed and holding a burlap sack.” He joked, it had a nervous edge but at least he could still making jokes. The noise and wind wasn’t lessening any. In fact, it seemed to be growing stronger as the continued deeper into the hoard. Leon could feel the tensing in Luke’s shoulder as the moves. And Maybe he was going a little crazy, he would have sworn the other boy seemed to responding to the… well, pulse of the place. It sounded weird even as he thought it, but was the best way he could describe it. Whatever it was it had him on edge. Ahead of them the small adventuring party could make out a larger space between the piles. Approaching cautiously they picked their way into the ‘clearing’. As Leon’s eyes started to scan the area something caught his attention. “What the h-?”
  21. Leon caught himself nodding along with Neko’s music. She had pretty voice, even if he didn’t know what she was actually saying. He watched Felix trying to chat up Carmen. ‘More power to him. She needed to open up more…’ He thought to himself before mentally frowning ‘Like I have room to talk.’ Ultimately Leon shook his head and blew out a small exaggerated breath. He was his own walking bundle of conflictions. He wasn’t hungry yet so he walked over to the edge of the pool himself he smirked at Owain. “Okay, Kid Arthur.” He teased good-natured-ly. “No one wants to hear about you flirting with the ‘Lady of the Lake’.” Leon chuckled as he sat down on the edge, not far from Naomi as he shot her a grin. When Neko’s music stopped Leon chances a glance back over his shoulder. His grin faded as he watched her disrobe her kimono. He was forced to quickly look away as she approached the pool, otherwise she might catch him staring. He could hear her nails on the concrete as she stopped nearby and called out to Owain. He looked up at her and smiled back. “I’ve seen him in practice a few times. He’s okay.” His smile becoming a grin as chuckled. He turned his attention to Luke in the pool as the other boy continued to await challengers. “I think you scaring the girls, man.” He laughed and glanced at Naomi as if to share the joke. He caught motion in the waters’ reflection as Neko seemed to lose her balance. Reacting instinctively he twisted back, reaching out to catch her. Paper seemed to appear from nowhere to catch her phone. The paper wrapping it in little bay-like wings that flapped cartoonishly as it hovered midair. “You okay?” He asked, all teenage bravado and cockiness gone, genuine concern obvious. Perhaps sometime later it might occur to him that Neko’s natural grace and dexterity would never allow her the indignity of tripping or stumbling. But that would be later. Leon’s concern was slowly being joined by red-cheeked awkwardness as Leon began to realize he now had a cute, bathing suit clad young lady in his lap and arms. Feeling the heat in his cheeks as he knew Neko could clearly see it, he tried to recover some dignity and looked away. It did little to help. ‘Oh gods, do not let Wilona see this.’ He thought, knowing she would tease him relentlessly about it. Luke’s ribbing would be bad enough. “Gotta, (cough), gotta be careful around pools. It, ah, can get slippery.” He managed to stammer out.
  22. That actually hits. Toughness save: 26 Fort save: 36 Bear-Knuckle tanks the damage and resists the Drain. Sorry @Nerdzul , just need an IC post now. Then the villains are up.
  23. Predator Jean did her best to look innocent at the lovely goddess’ inquiry of potential ‘shenanigans’. She wasn’t sure how well she hid it from the other woman, but Jean did manage to keep herself from looking towards Ashley. She was impressed by her companion’s ability to maintain her masquerade. The vixen tried to hide a smile behind her hand as Set informed Ashley that any attempt at flirting would have been hard pressed to go unnoticed by her escort. Clearing her throat she gave Set a smile and nodded as the goddess mentioned the multitude of vulpine influenced entities. “And I’m sure their reputations are just as colorfully diverse.” Jean chuckled. She didn’t show any surprise when Set changed her appearance, only searched her face as if analyzing it, the smile never leaving her muzzle. She did cock her head a bit and raise an eyebrow, giving the goddess another nod. Her smile widened into a knowing grin at the mention of her home’s possible pantheon and the potential of them to ‘come and go’. “That you do.” She agreed and chuckled. “And you are too kind. I give full credit to the lovely gown our gracious hosts provided for.” Jean steps back, allowing her skirt to flow with the motion. “I have to admit, though not something I normally wear, it does show off my legs nicely. And they left plenty of room for my tail.” She steps back up beside Ashley, taking the agent’s arm again. “Of course, I pale beside such an exquisite celestial coquette. But, I am here as my friend’s guest so I shall not allow myself to be sweet-talked away from her side this evening.”
  24. Chimera Chimera stool quiet as the two older heroes addressed the stranger. They weren’t ‘relaxed’ as she call it, but they weren’t being ‘aggressive’ either. Grimalkin spoke to him in something she recognized as French, but had know idea what she had said, neither did she understand The Hood’s reply. She had to gauge the hero’s reaction. Which was still stand-off-ish. She glanced in-between Ghost and Grim as they questioned Hood. She shot Impact a look when the kid introduced her but didn’t say anything. Instead, her attention flickered around them. She was looking for anyone else approaching, wether it be AEGIS or anyone else. She didn’t want to admit to herself that she was afraid of saying something stupid or sounding like a fool. Something she was making a habit of late, it seemed.
  25. Teens move into main room And Paper is distracted, losing his action for the round. Goons are gone @Nerdzul Nightscale is up buddy. Sorry for the delay.
