The only thing she can do is try to break free again.
-
Chimera Chimera gave a small squeak as Cheat Code began spraying bullets wildly. She raised her arms, the symbiote spreading over her flesh protectively. It was close, the bullets slammed into the techno-organic material a fraction of a second later. It stung, but she was unhurt. When the hail of gunfire stopped, Chimera lowered her arms and the symbiote retreated back to just the tendrils that wrapped around her. “Hey, watch it! you could hurt someone like that.” With a grunt she hopped down off the car, took all of two steps when Wordsmith turned on her. She froze for a moment, not sure what to expect from the villain. When he spread his arms, she raised her’s again. Too late she realized what he’d said. Chimera reacted instinctively, jumping backwards only to find the dented car at her back. She didn’t have time to dodge again when the slimy green word plastered her. It’s sticky substance covered her nearly completely. It pinned her to the car and street, sticking her to the spot. “Eww, eww, eww…” Chimera repeated as she found herself helpless. She shook her head what little she could. Taking a deep breath she calmed herself and called up her strength, trying to free herself with a show of strength. She grunted and strain, but it was to no avail as she found she couldn’t force her way free of the sticky slime.

Chimera “Hey! Don’t you ignore me!” Chimera was visibly offended when Fiery Fury turned her attention to Neko. So offended that she didn’t notice the Gentleman until the shimmer of his telekinetic blades were wishing arm’s reach.Instinctively, Chimera through up her arms, the techno-organic tendrils around her arms spreading to shield her from the attack. The immaterial blades shattering against the symbiote. She turned her attention to the floating man. “And one shouldn’t be cocky either.” She sniped back as one foot stepped back and she half crouched. She only tensed for a moment before her strength propelled her upwards. Luckily, the ceiling wasn’t but so high and Chimera leapt true. Her arm drew back and she swung with all her might at the levitating villain.

Leon “Fuuu…” Leon was panting as he laid on the cold, solid, uncomfortable coins. He’d run into something solid before he had tumbled to a stop amongst the avalanche of metal buts. He wasn’t sure what it had been until he heard Luke groan himself. ”I’m pretty sure I have a concussion now. Think that’ll get me outta tomorrow’s quiz?” He’d closed his eyes during the rough ride down and as he opened them he realized vaguely that he could see better then before. Something was giving off light. As he sat up he rubbed his head and looked around. Quickly he realized what he was seeing and his mouth hung open for a moment. With a shake of his head he snapped himself out of the trance of incalculable wealth he and his friend had just stumbled onto. With Luke’s help Leon managed to get his good foot under him and find his balance. “That is an understatement, my friend.” Was all he could say as he looked around. Squinting, he nodded towards the spiraling stairs wrapped around the giant pillar. ”And my head cannon is that Scrooge just had a super power, some kinda ‘super-movement’ for swimming in money.” He chuckled. “Think that’s a way out?” He asked even as his eyes drifted up to the plateau’s edge. “You know, if there is a dragon, he’s all yours.” Leon smirked as he patted Luke’s shoulder and limped forward, trying to be careful of his injured ankle. “I’m just gonna grab a few of these, ya know, as proof.” Leon said casually. Luke could hear the his roomie’s grin even if he couldn’t see it. “You watch out for the dragon.”

Yup, if you roll under 10 on the reroll you add the +10. So that’s a success. Looking it up, I’ll allow the interpose. It’s the cool, heroic thing to do.

Chimera is going to try to just punch Gentlemen: 22 If that hits, DC23 for the Toughness save.

Paper Leon signed in defeat as Coach Armstrong laid into Wilona, only to have the girl fire back with as much heat. He mentally thanked Luke for attempting damage control of his own. The calm tone Armstrong responded with though told him the chance of extra practicing could be in all their futures. He shot his roommate a smirk but was distracted by Naomi’s ‘outburst’ on Armstrong. He turned to address the Coach again, his hands up in a placating gesture. “Okay, so she has a fiery tempter. I wasn’t the most cooperative student when I first got here either, but I’ve made progress. Just give her a chance to cool off.” He said, hopefully sounding sincere. “See, she just needs to blow off some steam… wow, those were unintentional fire puns.” He bemuses before calling after the Coach, trying to sound confident. “I promise we’ll keep it on the down low from here on.” He said with his most assuring smile. Turning back to the group, his smile slips as he exhales. “We’ll that coulda gone better.” He rubs his hands together and tries to regain some composure as he glances over at Luke. “So than, to the simulator?” Leon made a gesture towards the gym. ”We can work up an appetite for lunch.”

Just out of curiosity I’ll roll for the hostages reaction to Neko’s illusion. 6 Well they didn’t fair any better then the goons. Let’s see if they hurt themselves trying to flee in terror. GM Under the large desk in the office Owain’s wolf ears could hear the two teens shuffle slightly, while behind him the older man cowered back into the chair as far as he could from the sudden appearance of the giant canine. The large, bear-handed man turning to face him with an angry sneer. Out in the main office space the hostages were also attempting to flee before the terrifying visage of Neko’s illusion. The stampeding crowd heedless to those that fell. Paper had moved to protect two of the fallen, but two other individuals were under the thread of being trampled by their fellow party goers. For there part, all of the gunmen had abandoned their weapons and were racing the crowd of hostages for the door, even as the man with the glowing eyes yelled for them to stop. Four of the men made it out into the halls of the office building, while three others found themselves caught up with the swarm of the crowd.

Paper Paper’s gaze swept over the crowd as the hostages began to swarm towards the doors in terror. He cursed as he caught sight of more then one person falling under the lurching crowd. Picking out a middle-aged couple that fell together Paper acted quickly. Twin ribbons of paper snaked out from his jacket, weaving through the crowd. The jacket unraveling as they did. Within moments the paper found the two fallen hostages and formed a quarter-dome, forcing other fleeing hostages to skirt the two.

Predator “Mirror Knight and Rocket.” The armored one nodded at each hero. ”Then, for now, you may call me Predator.” Her smooth faceplate focused on Rocket. There was a pause of silence as internally Jean pulled up and glanced at a few still frames from her fall through the sky. ”Forgive my shortness.” She began with a nod toward Rocket. ”Judging from several iconic buildings amongst your skyline, I assume this is this world’s version of Freedom City. I am originally from my own version of the city, on my own world. So, an alternate reality is an accurate description.” Predator shook her head. ”But, what matters is that something arrived with me, something not from mine or this world. I can not verify how harmful it could prove to be to the local populace or ecological system.” She looks back at Mirror Knight. ”I injured it before our arrival, and the substance it’s leaking seems to have an ultraviolet response.” Predator gestured towards a hallway leading out of the the office space and into the rest of the building. “Initial scans show a trail leading deeper into the building, but my tracking software is offline.” Inside her helmet, she switched off her microphone and addressed her computer system. ”Cynthia, begin a basic system scan and compile the results with the running list of repairs needed. Mute alerts.” /Affirative… beginning basic system scan…alerts muted…/ She didn’t need a distraction at a critical moment. Jean switched her microphone back on and addressed the two again. “Thank you both in advance for your assistance. Now, for the safety of others, it must be contained or eliminated.” She stated almost matter-of-factly as she let Mirror Knight take the lead. “The entity consists of an amorphous form with several tentacles in a radial around a maw. Approximately 3 meters wide, it seems capable of stretching and contracting its mass and appendages not unlike a typical octopus.”

I doubt Chimera would recognize either of them, unless RL says otherwise.

Chimera “Let’s go slumming, she said. It’ll be fun, she said. We can avoid any trouble, she said.” Jennifer was grumbling about her roommate. Jamie had talked her into going for drinks in the seedy part of town, thinking it would be fun and exciting. That girl was going to be the death of her, even if she was like a sister. Silver-gray tendrils wrapped around her body protectively as she ran through the alleys. The techno-organic symbiote covering the upper half of her face. She had made sure Jamie was in a cab back to the apartment before running off. Thank goodness she went with the jeans instead of the skirt she thought to herself. She was following the sounds of the fight until she luckily spotted the combatants as they crossed over head of the alley. Chimera leapt up and grabbed onto the old fire escape, wincing as it creaked under her sudden weight. She pulled herself up and ran up the steps, half in a hurry to stop the fight and half out of fear that it was going to fall out from under her. On the rooftop she pauses to look around. “Did… did that man just produce the word ‘Boom’?” An explosion tore off part of the roof ledge on the next building over. “Shit!” Chimera ducked reflexively even though she wasn’t close enough to worry about debris. She wasn’t sure which was more dangerous the words or the guns, but she had to stop this before someone got hurt. Chimera took a deep breath and charged across the rooftop and leapt across to their rooftop. The two were already back in the street below as she skidded to a stop at the edge of the roof. “Couldn’t they just stay put?” From where she stood she saw another masked person approach the two. “Great, not another one.” She grumbled until she heard the newcomer yell for the two to stop. “Okay, maybe he can be helpful. She didn’t recognize him, but any help is still help… right?” She hoped as much as she stepped back and jumped down, landing on a parked car. The roof caved in on impact, cushioning her landing but she cursed. She had forgotten about her wings. She still needed to practice using them. “Insurance would cover that… wouldn’t it.” She thought ruefully. She didn’t have time to dwell on that. She stood up on top of the caved-in car, making a square out of the four of them. She added her own ultimatum. “You heard him, stand down and walk away.”

Leon Leon winced as Wilona smarted-off at Armstrong. He raised his hands in a placating gesture. ”Let me.” He asked hopefully before the Coach could lay into the new girl. ”It’s always the red-heads.” He muttered under his breath then turned to look up at Wilona. ”Alright Red, this is one of the facility. We all get you don’t like people telling you what to do, I don’t like it either. But if you’re gonna hang around here, you’re gonna have to meet them half way.” He spread his hands. ”Just come down, make him happy and maybe he’ll let us be on our way without anymore harassment.” Leon glanced back at Armstrong with a nervous, but hopeful smile. ”Besides, I’m pretty sure you don’t wanna set anyone on fire. That’d net you a lot worse then detention.” He said hoping the new girl wasn’t a complete psychopath.

Predator Predator’s smooth helmet slowly turned as she looked across the office until a voice sounded from behind her. Reflexively she snapped around, one palm aimed at the owner of the voice. The other palm still pointed out into the office space. A sticky looking purple substance was splattered across her arms and chest, a few drops freckled the smooth blank face plate. There was a moment before she spoke, the voice slightly distorted by the helmet’s hidden speakers. When she did speak, it was short and concise as she took in Rocket's appearance and manners. “Costumed. Friendly greeting. Hero.” As if that was all she needed to know she swung back around and stood up, letting her hand fall to her sides. “Elsewhere.” She answered Rocket’s question. “But I didn’t come alone. An unknown entity arrived with me.” Inside her helmet the color palette of her screen shifted again as thermal shifted to ultraviolet. This gave her something to see. Looking down at her own arm, the purple ichor clinging to her arm it shone like blood under UV. Looking across the office she spotted a glowing trail on her screen. “Whatever its leaking is emitting low level ultraviolet radiation.” She said, sounding just a little curious. “Cynthia, adjust the search lights to emit ultraviolet light.” /I am sorry, damage to the emitter array makes it unable to comply/ A second digitized female voice came from the hidden speakers. Jean cursed under her breath. Just another repair to add to the growing list. All the shifting and lack of appropriate resources had taken its toll on her and the suit. She looked back at Rocket. “I don’t suppose you can see in the ultraviolet spectrum?” She asked before the helmet tilted to look past him to the hole she had made in the outer wall. “A friend of yours?” She asked as Mirror Knight rose into sight.
