  1. Predator Power Level: 13 built 10 (202/213pp ) Unspent Power Points: 11pp Trade-Offs: None In Brief: Dimensional castaway in a battlesuit landing in Freedom City Catchphrase: *** Theme: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk Alternate Identity: Jean Dweomer (Public) Birthplace: Freedom City, Anthro-Earth Residence: Freedom Hall Base of Operations: Freedom Hall Occupation: Scientist Affiliations: *** Family: Deceased Description: Age: 30 (DoB: 13/08/1993) Apparent Age: early-mid 20's Gender: Female Ethnicity: Anthro-fox Height: 1.626m (5’4”) Weight: 50.5k (111.5lbs.) Eyes: Dark Blue Hair: Dirty Blonde Description: Jean is a humanoid fox girl. Dirty blonde hair reaches her shoulders and her eyes are a deep rich blue. Her features are fox like and a pair of red and black furred fox ears poke up through her hair. Short fur covers her body and her legs are slightly digitigrade. A fox tail protrudes from the base of her spine. The Predator armor is an advanced battlesuit Jean designed and built. She has redesigned and upgraded it numerous times since its conception. Its current design has a feline/canine inspired hints in its minimalist simplicity. It has a sleek, polished gun metal appearance with no added coloring except the yellow glow from the helmet’s ‘eyes’. History: Jean was born on a parallel Earth, similar to Freedom’s but with several major differences. Nearly identical to Earth Prime in every way, Anthro-Earth has comparable technology, history, and culture. The world has its own variety of heroes and villains that clash regularly, as well as numerous visitors from worlds beyond. The primary difference is the dominant species is anthropomorphic animals. There are also a sprinkling of humans and aliens from other worlds (and a few other anthropomorphic creatures not native to Anthro-Earth) that are referred to as 'outsiders'. It was during a clash between two of the many super-powered individuals in her world that Jean lost both her parents at a young age. Jean was recognized as a prodigy at an early age and graduated from high school years ahead of her peers. She attended college, receiving multiple degrees before moving to the private sector. Under the employment of a patron with known questionable connections, Jean secretly designed and built the Predator armor to combat the destructive forces that she felt plagued the city. For several years she fought to protect her city until one day a crazy scientist constructed a portal that threatened to run out of control and could threaten her entire universe. Alongside several other heroes she tried to stop it, only to find herself dragged in to the portal along with its creator. Jean found herself adrift in the multiverse, the residual energy from the portal causing her to shift through wolds at random. Wherever she appeared she would help to protect the innocent as she attempted to find a way back to her own world. Sometimes it would be days, sometimes weeks between shifts. This made it difficult to devise a way home. Eventually, her dimensional shifting landed her in Freedom City, but the residual energy seems to be nearly gone, leaving her apparently stranded there for the time being. She has since accepted residence and the use of a lab at Freedom Hall. In exchange she offers her assistance as a hero, while attempting to both find a way home and create a sustainable base to operate in this world. Personality & Motivation: Jean is intelligent and stubborn, but will listen to counter arguments and give them proper consideration if they deserve it. She has a strong desire to protect since losing her parents to ‘super powered’ violence. She is quick to act, but does so in an intelligent way. Always analyzing the situation and thinking ahead. Her mind is her most useful tool and she utilizes it. Though, in her travels, she has been forced to more drastic measures and sometimes goes further than she would normally feel comfortable acting in order to protect others. She is slow to trust others, but once she considers someone a friend she is fiercely loyal. She has been known to place others before herself to what some may consider dangerous degrees. Jean had no immediate family, but left behind many friends and allies she misses. Jean has no hang ups on her inhuman appearance since the world she was born into had a high population of humanoid animals. She does though have some body issues give her small stature and build, feeling she can’t measure up to ‘normal’ beauty standards. But this doesn’t normally hinder her since she tends to be more analytical by nature. It usually only came up on the rare occasion she began to feel attracted to another and thought they wouldn’t see her the same way. This would sometimes lead to her shift to an even more analytical attitude that could possibly push others away, but a numerous times she has allowed others to get close to her. Power Descriptions: Jean herself is an intellectual prodigy, but has no powers herself, relying on the suit for any combat needs. The suit was built using a mix of advanced Terran and alien technologies. Complications: Stranger in a not-so-strange land: The Earth Jean came from had enough similarities for her to make sense of things, but enough differences to make many social interactions potentially awkward. From minor differences like the names of companies and products might be different. To moderate differences like the race/species of a person being different then she knew back home. To major differences like the details of historical events being different. A hero point could be awarded if this would cause a problem either socially or investigatively. Inhuman appearance: Jean is not human and makes no effort to conceal the fact. This may make people uncomfortable or possibly hostile towards her, causing problems with many people not used to dealing with nonhumans. A hero point could be awarded if this would cause a problem either socially or investigatively. 3. Used a lot of RL’s advice. Made the edits. Need to fix some of the layout though, I think.
  4. Leon was absorbed by the book in he hands. It took a moment before he looked up at Luke like he didn’t understand why the other boy was there. He shook his head and remembered where they were… well, okay he didn’t actually know where they were. But he knew where they weren’t. He blinked and looked back at the book. “This? This shouldn’t be here. This shouldn’t be anywhere…” He swallowed. “Except a landfill.” He paused and wiped his eyes before continuing. “My mother use to read this to me when I was little. I don’t mean she just read me Winnie the Pooh, I mean read me THIS book.” Leon looked back up at Luke and turned the book to show his friend the inner cover. A page declaring ‘This Book Belongs to ____’ was printed neatly. And on the line after it, written in the lopsided, uneven crayon of a child was ‘Leon Moore’. He turned the book back to himself and stared at the page again. his voice started to tremble as he spoke, but he did his best to hide it. “But it shouldn’t be here. When I was 8, my mother was reading it to me before bed, trying to pretend her son wasn’t a freak…” He tried to smirk and sound uncaring, but it was weak. “I was young and I loved the book, and as she was reading it… the illustrations began to move on the page, acting out the story.” Leon swallowed, but continued. “My mom flipped. She scream and threw the book across the room. It damaged the spine and some of the pages fell out. I heard it call to me, I want to get up and fix it, but my mother… she picked it up and threw it out the window into the alley below our apartment. I looked for it the next day, but never found it.” He closed the book, like he was finished telling a story. Looking back at Luke with visible confusion he asked the only question he could think of. “How is this possible?”
  5. GM Just realized I didn’t roll for the villains against the Intimidate. They would have been effected too. Sense Motive: 5 +9/+13 Teens Stealth check (one for both): 20 Villians Notice: 17 They stay hidden for this round. Paper HP to trade Improve Crit 2 for Split Attack 2 on Blast. Ranged attack against the 3 running goons: 4 +3/+3/+2 All three attacks miss. Goons I’m gonna say the Intimidate was so successful that the goons that hadn’t been by the window are frozen with fear as the the 3 left from the window flee out into the hall. @Nerdzul Nightscale up
  6. GM Inside the office the Teens hid under the desk, the only spot they could find in the room. They could only look at each other in confusion at the sounds coming from the main room, but had to keep silent as the large bear-handed man shoved the older man inside and shut the door before the commotion started to escalate. —————— The goons running from the window where yelling and babbling incoherently as they reached the doors out to the hall. They paid no mind to the man with the glowing eyes as he uselessly ordered them to stop. Those that had been standing guard over the tightened their grips on their guns but were frozen in fear but the horrific imagery.
  7. Paper Paper winced as Neko’s illusion gruesomely devoured an illusionary man. “Okay Neko, I think you can dial it back a bit.” He called over to the cat girl. “Your a little too good with those and some of the hostages look old. Don’t wanna have any heart attacks.” He smirked as he pulled out a handful of paper. Leveraging a perch on Nightscale’s back, Leon leapt for the broken window. Landing in a roll he came up in a half crouch and flung the sheets in his hand at the retreating goons. The papers balled themselves into small balls mid flight. All three went wide and Paper grunted in annoyance. There where to many hostages for a clear shot.
  8. Blackstaff Christopher listened intently as each of them spoke, making notes as they did. Each story was unremarkable in and of itself, but when put together there was something strange. They were all taken and thrust here by an unknown party, but to what extent? To send a message? A threat or a warning? He kept a neutral expression as nodded in acknowledgment to Hagar as he finished his tale. “A man of your father’s standing, I assume, made his share of…” He searched for the right word for a moment. “…opposition. To the best of your knowledge, do you think any of them would capable of something like this?” He asked, the tip of his pencil hovering above the paper’s surface as he watched the trio.
  9. Chimera Molten cement licked across her side as Chimera dodged out of the way, leaving scorched flesh visible through the hole burned through her dress. Smaller, splashes spotted her arm and one even hit her cheek. Chimera grimaced and sucked in air through gritted teeth. Just the air on her wounds hurt. She could feel the blood pounding through her heart as it raced through her. This woman was more dangerous then she thought. “I liked this dress.” She growled as she stared the woman down, considering her options. The symbiote inside her took the opportunity and techno-organic nanites spread to wounded flesh. Before her opponent’s eyes the burnt flesh started to flake off, revealing under it already healing, fresh pink skin untouched by the super heated attack.
  10. Using standard action to Regen. Con check DC10: 22 Healed 1 bruised
  11. Fort save: 11… HP to reroll: 19… Well passed it at least. Toughness save: 17… I am not using 2 HP on one attack. >< So bruised and dazed Notice check: Skill Mastery for 20
  12. Leon “Nobodies? Oh no he didn’t.” Paper gave a mocking offended look at his opponent. “I’ll have you know, your facing a couple of Young Guardians… plus one.” He added after a brief pause, nodding towards Puma. Paper twirled the mallet-like hammer before thrusting it forward at Yellow. On contact, instead of the smashing force she was probably expecting, the hammer’s head explodes into a paper strands that wrap around her. The strands entangling her arms and legs. “What’s the matter? Never gotten wrapped up in a good book?” Paper grinned, the staff starting to reform as paper flowed from his jacket and down his arm. Okay, maybe be he was feeling a little cheesy. The young hero readied to strike again.
  13. Gonna try to Snare Yellow. Ranged attack: 18 If it hit, that’s a Reflex save DC18.
  14. Not a problem K, it happens. As soon as AA posts IC, you can post. should probably poke them.
  15. Blackstaff Christopher had only open his new office, well new to Freedom office, only a week ago. It had taken a little while to connect the door in his new location with his office back in Emerald City. The phone line had been a bit trickier, integrating technology and magic always was, but he arranged for a local number to connect to the phones in his office. A few other issues had arisen, but Blackstaff Investigations was officially a Freedom City business, with all the necessary documentation. He had been in his office looking at Freedom City’s primary newspaper when the phone rang. A small light indicating it was from his new city. He had answered with his usual professionalism but had hardly expected the case that was about to fall into his lap. Some time later he was standing in the panic room of one, Harold Hitspike. His immediate family was present, two sons and a daughter. He kept a calm professional manner as he listened to Hagar. His eyes though were already looking for clues as they casually looked over the diagram that the charred remains of Mr. Hitspike rested within. They all insisted that their father wasn’t associated with the dark arts, but it wouldn’t be the first time he uncovered dubious dealing in a well-to-do family in the know. Christopher was smart though and kept such thoughts aside. It wasn’t wise to cloud one’s judgement at the beginning of a case. “Of course.” He nodded in understanding. But it was the sister, Hildegard, taking his hand that drew his attention away from the scene. At her plea he offered her a comforting smile and patted her hand. “I promise to do everything in my power to find the entity, being or force responsible.” It wasn’t a promise he was going to take lightly. Someone may have used magic to take a life, breaking one of the seven rules of magic he did his best to lived by. Though he was sure his mother would be disappointed in the number of times he’d found himself forced to bend or break those same rules. Pushing that aside he turned his attention to the siblings. Reaching into his long coat he withdrew a small note pad and pencil. “We should start with the basics, I’ll need each of you to tell me what you were doing prior to finding the victim.” He asked solemnly. Christopher attempted to be careful with his words, not wanting to agitate the potential witnesses. The more at ease with him they were, the more information and details he might be able to gather. “And, please, don’t be afraid to tell me anything that may have seemed out of the ordinary, and anything you may have disturbed in the room. Once I have everyone’s statements, I’ll have to ask you to withdraw from the room so I can investigate the scene.”
  16. Leon was grinning as his roomie dragged the chest up and plopped it on a rocky ledge. If the coins were any hint of the goodies inside, he couldn’t wait. He eyes the lock and frowned. Half waterlogged and half rusted. Leon grinned at Luke. “Just watch the pro, Dr. Jones.” He propped himself up with one arm and leaned his ear near the lock. He slid the small piece of paper he held into the lock and it rustled inside the mechanism as Leon worked it around. There was the audible sound of ages old rusty pins clicking into place before the sound of the lock opening sounded. “Bingo!” Leon pulled himself up on to the ledge with the chest and pulled on the lid. The Hodges complain fiercely but gave up as the lid swung open. Leon’s triumph grinned faded as he looked into it. He crouched down and started to rummage through the contents. “I think we found the lost-and-found.” He said as she pulled something out, turning to look at Luke wearing a pair of big nosed Groucho Marx glasses. He smirked at his freeing and room them off, tossing them back into the chest. He rummaged around a bit more for a moment before the smirk was replaced with confusion on Leon’s face. His hand sunk deeper into the casts-offs that seemed to be the chest’s primary contents. It was like he was searching for something specific. Leon suddenly froze, then slowly he withdraw his hand. In it, an old worn book was in his grip. He stared at it, tuning it over in his hand, a look of obvious disbelief on his face. The cover of the book was legible, the simple illustrations of a young blonde boy and a small orange teddy bear under the title ‘The Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh’. Leon swallowed as he touched his left hand fingers to the cover. A shimmer rippled across his hand. The color fading away to reveal wrapped paper in the shape of his fingers. Slowly the effect crept up his hand and wrist, spreading up his arm to stop just above the bicep. Leon didn’t seem to notice as he just stared at the book. With trembling paper fingers he carefully open the book. He nearly gasps at he examines the first page. “It’s… it’s impossible…” He touches the inner page with his paper fingers and Luke can see his friend fighting back tears.

  22. Intimidate goons: 3… lol Toughness save: 10 So, the remaining gunmen at the window brown their pants and turn to run, dropping their weapons in the process. As they’re running, Owain as a wolf, trounces one of them knocking the goon unconscious. The other 3 are running screaming towards the door out into the hall, the door the man with glowing eyes is stands by. The hostages are now screaming even more. @Avenger Assembled I can’t wait to read the IC.
