  1. Chimera Chimera shook off the shock of Fury’s initial attack. She looked up in time to see her draw a nasty looking blade. The woman raised it and brought it down in a powerful swing but Chimera was ready. She quickly side stepped the swing, letting it carve out a piece of the floor as she made a fist and drew back. “You’re right, let’s cut this short.” Electricity crackled across her fist, leaving a slight trail behind as she swung. Her fist connected, the electrical aura around it cushioning the impact but sending a shock into her opponent. Unfortunately thou it seemed to do little to faze the woman and Chimera quickly wondered if the blade in the floor had grounded out the attack. Before the woman could retaliate Chimera stepped back and assumed a defensive stance. Off-handedly, she thought to herself that she needed to practice her ‘smack talk’. That had been a terrible come back.
  2. I since you’re invisible and they have no reason to think you’re there. He flat-footed, so it’s a hit. Shark man grapple check: 29 He fails, Artificer has caught a shark. And he swears it was this big. @Avenger Assembled Owain and Neko are up. Stills some armed goons at the window. Shark man is hanging in mid air. Everyone else is further inside the room.
  3. Leon’s hands flailed frantically as they searched through the water for his roommate, his worry growing as they found nothing. Suddenly Luke’s hands found his, surprising him, but Leon quickly grabbed hold and hold with all his strength. He pulled against the unseen force so hard he felt the rocky surface of the stream bed actually crack under the strain. With their combined effort whatever was holding on to Luke finally relented and his friend broke the water surface with a gasp, sending the duo tumbling back in the water. Leaning back against the walls of the stream Leon panted from the effort. He suddenly realized he had been pulling with way more strength then he should have had. He wasn’t a wet noodle, but had to admit he’d been skipping a more the a few gym days to hang out in the library. He was looking at his hands dubiously as his friend thanked him. “What?” He looked up at Luke for moment before what he had said registered. “Oh, ya. Probably.” He nodded in agreement. Leon tensed as his roommate disappeared under the water again. His eyes searching the darkness for any sign of trouble. When he finally emerged again Leon let out a small exhaled breath and smirked. “Don’t suppose it’s attached to a giant plug, maybe labeled Acme?” He chuckled, but then looked thoughtful. A chain and the random coins they’d found all seemed very confusing. He looked back at Luke “You wanna check it out?” He frowned, but nodded. “Just be careful. In fact, I’m coming with you.” He added.
  4. Just realized I forgot an initiative Teens: 28 I really need to stop wasting good rolls on initiative for NPCs. Okay, we can say Star is taking her turn to survey the scene for a way to help the hostages. @Dr Archeville Artificer is up. We’ll say there are 4 more armed goons at the window looking confused and the shark man has moved closer to the window. Hostages are huddling in the middle of the room, easily 30-40 of them. At least another 6 armed men are around them. The bug villain is to one side of the hostages and the man with glowing eyes is still near the doors out to the hall. The red hair villain is in the adjoining office with the older man. (the same room Neko saw the two teens hiding in.) Teens - unhurt Paper - unhurt Goons - 10 unhurt Nightscale - unhurt Villains - unhurt Shooting Star - unhurt Artificer - unhurt Owain - unhurt Neko - unhurt
  5. GM Within the large room a huge gathering of guests huddle together. The villains were spread around the room. Every was watching the broken widow. Gasps and cries of surprised erupted from the hostages when several of the armed goons we suddenly knocked flat by an unseen force. “Quiet!” The red-haired villain yelled, causing the cries to become whimpers. He motions to the shark man, who looks unsure. “Me? Why me?” He snarls through pointed teeth. “Because you need to prove yourself still.” The bug man replied with a smirk. The shark man simply glared at him but moved cautiously towards the window as the other three watched. Turning back to the older man with him he makes a fist and slams it into the door. The force snapping the wood holding the lock, letting it swing open. The red hair villain shoves the older man inside the office.
  6. Predator - WIP Power Level: 12 built 10 (180/180PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: None In Brief: Dimensional castaway in a battlesuit landing in Freedom City Catchphrase: *** Theme: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk Alternate Identity: Jean Downer (Public) Birthplace: Nexus City, Alternate Earth Residence: *** Base of Operations: *** Occupation: *** Affiliations: *** Family: *** Description: Age: 27 (DoB: 13/08/1993) Apparent Age: 20’s Gender: Female Ethnicity: Anthropomorphic fox Height: 1.626m (5’4”) Weight: 50.5k (111.5lbs.) Eyes: Dark Blue Hair: Dirty Blonde Description: Jean is a humanoid fox girl, short and athletically built. Dirty blonde hair reaches her shoulders and her eyes are a deep rich blue. Her features are fox like and a pair of red and black furred fox ears poke up through her hair. Short fur covers her body and her legs are slightly digigrade. A fox tail protrudes from the base of her spine. The Predator armor is an advanced battlesuit Jean designed and built, integrating numerous local and alien technologies. She has redesigned and upgraded it numerous times since it’s conception. It’s current design has a feline/canine inspired hints in its minimalist simplicity. It has a sleek, polished gun metal appearance with no added coloring except the yellow glow from the helmet’s ‘eyes’. History: Jean was born on a parallel Earth, similar to Freedom’s but with several major differences. The first being that there was no Freedom City, on her world it was name Nexus City due to the number of strange occurrences that seemed to happen there. Aliens, inter dimensional travelers, magical vortexes, old and new gods appearing, and the like. The city also attracted is own variety of heroes and villains that clashed. It was during one of those clashes that Jean lost both her parents at a young age. Jean was recognized as a prodigy at an early age and graduated from high school years ahead of her peers. She attended collage, receiving multiple degrees before moving to the private sector. Under the employment of a patron with known questionable connects Jean secretly designed and built the Predator armor to combat the destructive forces that she felt plagued the city. For several years she fought to protect her city until one day a crazy scientist constructed a portal that threatened to run out of control and could threaten her entire universe. Along side several other heroes she tried to stop it, only to find herself dragged it to the portal along with its creator. Jean found herself adrift in the multiverse, the residual energy from the portal causing her to shift through wolds at random. Where ever she appeared she would help to protect the innocent as she attempted to find a way back to her own world. Sometimes it would be days, sometimes weeks between shifts. This made it difficult to devise away home. Eventually, her dimensional shifting landed her in Freedom City, but the residual energy seems to be nearly gone, leaving her apparently stranded there for the time being. Personality & Motivation: Jean is intelligent and stubborn, but will listen to counter arguments and give them proper consideration if they deserve it. She has a strong desire to protect since losing her parents to ‘super powered’ violence. She is quick to act, but does so in an intelligent way, always analyzing the situation and think ahead. Her mind is her most useful tool and she utilizes it. Though, in her travels, she has been forced to more drastic measures and sometimes goes further then she would normally feel comfortable acting in order to protect others. She is slow to trust others, but once she considers someone a friend she is fiercely loyal. She has been known to place others before herself to what some may consider dangerous degrees. Jean has no hang ups on her inhuman appearance since the world she was born into had a high population of humanoid animals. She does though have some body issues give her small stature and build, feeling she can’t measure up to ‘normal’ beauty standards. But this doesn’t normally hinder her since she tends to be more analytical but nature. It usually only came up on the rare occasion she began to feel attracted to another and thought they wouldn’t see her the same way. This would usually lead to her shift to an even more analytical attitude that could possibly push others away. Power Descriptions: Jean herself is a intellectual prodigy, but has no powers herself, relying on the suit for any combat needs. The armor is designed and constructed using a multitude of technologies integrated together be Jean’s careful designs. It’s internal, self recharging power source is one of the alien technologies that allows it to preform the incredible feats it does without running out of energy. Jean programmed an AI assistant into the armors systems to help maintain the armor and streamline its systems. She named the AI Cynthia. Using the residual dimensional energies Jean has been able to shift the armor alone into a trans dimensional state she can call it from. This allows her to summon the armor to her in an emergency. Complications: Stranger in a not-so-strange land: The Earth Jean came from had enough similarities for her to make sense of things, but enough differences to make many social interactions potentially awkward. From minor differences like the names of companies and products might be different. To moderate differences like the race/species of a person being different then she knew back home. To major differences like the details of historical events being different. A hero point could be awarded if this would cause a problem either socially or investigatively. Inhuman appearance: Jean is not human and makes no effort to conceal the fact. This may make people uncomfortable or possibly hostile towards her, causing problems with many people not use to dealing with nonhumans. A hero point could be awarded if this would cause a problem either socially or investigatively. 7. None of the villains are in range but the gunmen are only minions. given they were trying to squeeze as many of them as they could to fire on the illusion, I say with Takedown you mange to knock 4 of the gunmen unconscious with your attack. Go ahead with an IC when you have a chance, then the Villains will react.
  8. Paper Paper leaned caught his breath as he shook off the shock of Green’s attack. He’d have to keep an eye out for a repeat of that one. On the edge of his vision he registered movement. Yellow raised a hand and he could see the yellow energy gathering around him. Using the staff, he shoved himself aside and spun. As the momentum carried him around the staff shortened, paper flowing over it and it’s end expanded. The newly formed warhammer head drove into Yellow’s backside, spreading the impact out. Paper didn’t want to cause permanent injury by slamming the staff into her spine.
  9. I honestly didn’t think that was gonna hit.
  10. Chimera will attempt to Stun Fury: 19 HP to reroll: 20... Well that was a waste. On the off chance it hit, DC18 Fort save needed for Fury.
  11. @Avenger AssembledGotcha Kaede seems to be taking time for themselves so I'll roll Initiative for them, but they can slip in later when they feel up to it. Shooting Star initiative: 20 Paper 26 Goons 25 Nightscale 24 Villains 23 Shooting Star 20 Artificer 15 Owain 14 Neko 13 Since Artificer volunteered to take point I'm skipping Paper for now, moving on to the goons. @NerdzulNighscale is up.
  12. GM Paper held onto Nightscale as the dragon climbed up into the night towards the upper floors. As the group flew closer, a number of black clad goons appear in the broken window. they level automatic weapons at the monstrous illusion and open fire uselessly. Nightscale easily avoiding any stray shots, being unseen by the men.
  13. Reflex save: 23 Made it. Avoiding the snare Paper will attempt to counter attack. Melee strike with paper staff: 17
  14. It’s and extra under Protection. It cost 1PP per rank. Impervious 5 or 6 I think is enough to shrug off most firearms, but shrugging off powers is more expensive.
  15. Paper only has Impervious 5, so it only allows to DC 20 or less. Need to up that when I bump him up to his next PL.
  16. @Avenger Assembled I assumed Neko’s ESP is still in effect? Every can go ahead and roll initiative since it will probably start once the group enters the building. Paper initiative: 26 Villains initiative: 23 Goons initiative: 25 And there go all my good rolls.
  17. GM Inside the lobby the visible security guard looked up in surprise as Neko’s illusion roared in rage. He snatches up a small automatic weapon from the counter and ran up to the glass doors. Looking out at the monstrous image in shock. He fumbled for a radio off his belt and spoke into it. ————- Upstairs, Neko’s cats can see nearly everyone looked towards the widow at the cry of rage. The man with the glowing eyes answers a radio off his own belt. He looked at the bug-man and motioned to him. The bug-man moved over to the broken window and looked down. At the sight of the illusion he quickly backed away. “What in the hell is that?” “What is it?” The red-haired asked, pausing at the office door with the older man. “A m-monster.” He replied as he continued to back away from the broken window. The shark-man looked nervously from him to the red-haired man. “Then deal with it.” The red-haired man growled and shoved the older man forward towards the office. The older man began to fumble through a key ring. ——- Below in the courtyard Owain’s magic cloaked the group with ease. A plan seemingly in hand Nightscale carried the young heroes up into the air towards the broken widow as Neko’s illusion continued to effectively distract the villains.
  18. Chimera Chimera’s attention was on the jackal-masked man as he created a ring of fire around her and the wolf-boy. This presented a problem when one of the fighters made a rather dramatic entrance, catching her off guard. The explosion caught her full force, causing her to stumble aside a step. Her ears rang and the skin on that side was scorched as a result. Chimera grunted as she shook her head trying to clear it.
  19. Leon just smirked and chuckled at Luke’s choice of nicknames. The duo… or rather the trio, continued their trek down the watery channel. He felt things brush up against him in the water and fought to keep from jumping nearly every time. He was actually grateful when Chewy scared most of them off after catching and eating one of them. That had to slow down a little, between the deepening water and being unable to see just where they were stepping. But the little group continued on steadily. He plucked another coin he spotted from a small outcropping, almost missing it in a shadowed nook. As he examined it, the sound of a sudden splash caused him to turn around as quickly as he could in the chest high water to find his friend gone and the water rippling. “Luke! Luke!” He called out as he waded passed Chewy, towards where Luke should have been. The little creature paddling like a duck as it clacked at him. Leon reached down into the water feeling around for his friend. “Come on buddy.” He muttered as he frantically groped around.
  20. Leon “As a matter of fact, yes.” Leon smirked at the yellow clad woman as he dodged her strike. He spun the staff as he looked for an opening. ‘Just kids? How rude.’ Leon thought as he regarded his opponent. He saw an opening and readied to strike when crackling green energy wracked his body. The attack left him leaning on the staff for support for a moment as he caught his breath.
  21. Toughness save: 18 That’s a bruise and a dazed
  22. Toughness save: 17 That’s a bruise and dazed.
  23. I forgot about cries. I rarely get them. Figures they still make it.
  24. Leon Leon watched as Hero and Danica tried to be more diplomatic with the cop. He wanted to say something snarky, but decided to let them try to defuse the situation. When their chaperone tries to dissuade the police he was hopeful. But when the cop loosen his gun Leon tensed. He pulled several sheets of paper from inside his hoodie and they stiffened in his hand. He took a protective half step forward to block Naomi from any trouble. Sure he knew she could protect herself, but it was a reflex for him. “You heard Red, slink back to your car and bugger off. We didn’t come here looking to start a fight, but we’ll damn well finish one if we have to.” Okay, so he wasn’t helping the situation, but like Wilona and Naomi he hadn’t’t had the best encounters with the police. Sure, was usually because they were trying to stop and arrest him and his siblings but that was beside the point.
  25. Leon “Okay, we do this fast and-“ Not many could get the drop on Leon. So when he barely had paper in hand and Puma was already off like a shot, ya, he was a little surprised. Paper gave a short whistle. He glanced at Nightscale and smirked. “Okay, the wallflower is fast. Hurry up slow poke.” He grinned and followed after Puma at a sprint. Paper swirled into his hand and a long staff formed as he ran. Puma had already delivered a boot-to-the-head to the blue clad villain, he’d leave it to her. With a firm two handed grip on the paper staff he passed the two and swung at the next closest villain. The staff connecting solidly with the colorful criminal.
