I’d you want to spend a Hero Point, you can reroll the attack. If the reroll comes up less then 10 you add 10 to the result. So basically you can’t get lower then a 10 on the reroll.

Leon Grinning like the cat that ate the canary, Leon happily led the way. “Carful there, don’t think either of our power sets can fend off a cease and desist.” He joked at Luke’s whistling. As the light began to lessen again, Leon swore under his breath, but luckily it stayed enough to let them pick their way along. Leon paused to look back at the sound of the little critter going fishing. As it chowed down on its catch Leon gave a look of mild disturbance. He glanced at Luke and saw his reaction and chuckled. “Okay, but if to plan on taking it home you’re one taking it for walkies.” The water began to rise as the trudged on. As it reached their knees Leon grunted. “Cold and wet sucks!” He caught Luke pulling himself out of the water to check a side passage. He pause to watch his friend. “Found something?” He asked as the little guy nudged him, making little clacking noises as it did so. Leon glanced down at it. “Don’t think the little guy is keen on a detour.” He commented off-handily.

Leon Leon was a Claremont student in his junior year. His power to control and manipulate paper being his signature. Today though, he strolled down the sidewalk away from the vendor’s cart along side his fellow students. Suddenly, ahead of them, the doors of a bank exploded outwards. The doors bounced off the steps and landed in large broken pieces on the sidewalk. “Oh, you have got to be kidding.” Leon had stopped in his tracks on the sidewalk. A chili-dog in one hand and a soda in the other. “Not again.” As he watched, four people in brightly colored costumes poured out of the hole in the building.

Chimera Chimera resisted taking a step back as Neko’s illusions took shape. Behind them, she could hear the announcer as she riled up the crowd and it didn’t sound like Chimera wanted to hang around for long. She saw Neko attempt to rush for the doors as her illusions distracted the jackal-masked man and his goons, but the wolf-boy had stayed by her side. When the goons got too close the wolf attacked, dragging one man down. Unfortunately, as the first goon fell unconscious the second managed to land a hit squarely. “No!” Chimera found herself yelling as she quickly stepped up and drove a fist into the attacker’s side.

Leon As he went tit-for-tat with Luke over possible clothing choices for Owain, Leon had enjoyed watching Neko’s reaction to all the holiday decor. As such, he was watching her as she leaned on the candy cane ‘fence’. It was a cute sight up until the skylight over head shattered. Reflexively he flinched and whirled towards the trio that was now front and center. He thought he recognized some of them, he really needed to pay more attention in super villain identifying lessons he thought to himself. Paper was already in his hand and he slapped a paper mask over his face. The blank white full-face sporting only eyeholes. “Hey a$$holes, don’t mess with Santa!” Paper hollered back at the arguing trio. From under his hoodie paper flowed and pooled around his feet before it surged forward. The paper shaping itself as it arced over Neko, taking the form of a giant snake as it barreled down on the central figure to slam into him.

Paper Paper watched as Nightscale grew and shifted form. He’d seen it before, but it was still impressive. Not that he was about to admit it. He smirked and shook his head until Neko spoke up. “Hmm?” Paper didn’t know how she knew they had guns, but it was good to know. He turned to her. “Can you see inside? How many men?” He asked as he tried to remember was kojin meant, but he was drawing a blank. He shook his head and regarded Owain as the boy spoke up. As the two disappeared from sight he chuckled. He looked back at Shooting Star. “Guess your off the hook.” He joked until Neko’s illusion spawned. “Holy…!” Paper started as he looked up at it. The only thing he caught from its roar was something about stealing or something stolen? He couldn’t be sure, but it didn’t matter right now. He nodded to Artificer. “If you think you can handle it. Sounds like they’re armed.” He looked back at Shooting Star and nodded towards the spot Nightscale sat invisible. “Guess that’s the plan. Up to the window. Let Arty take point.” He suggested to the group, using his nickname for Artificer. “We follow up sneaky like. Well, as sneaky as an invisible dragon can be.” He quipped as he found a perch on his roomie’s back.

You can have a Paper or a Chimera if you like.

Leon smirked at his friend. “Ouch.” He chuckled. The swarm was little match for the combined efforts of the boys. Luke covering Leon as his paper dart well… darted around, striking the bugs with each pass. As the swarm seemed to subside and retreat, he glanced around one last time for stragglers. He wasn’t normally vindictive, but damn it he was cold, tired, and still clueless of where they were. He was understandably miffed. He turned to watch Luke try to approach the baby… thing. It wasn’t exactly like one, but it reminded him of the creatures from that Vin Diesel movie. As his roomie reached out to it Leon tensed. The paper spike in hand, ready if needed. “If he bites you, I’m gonna laugh. I’ll help, but ya I’m gonna tease you afterward.” When it decided Leon was the next target of its affections he did his best not to let it knock him over. Eventually the things attentions caused him to step back to catch his balance. As he regained his footing he felt something cold and metallic under his foot. Stepping off it he looked down is surprise for a moment before a big grin spread across his face. “We’ll now, what’s this?” Bending down he pried the half buried coin from its stony prison. Standing up straight he dusted it off and held it up to the little light that streamed it from somewhere above. It’s surface catch the light in a golden gleam. “Looks like this little trip just turned a profit.” He grinned over at Luke. “Where there’s one, there could be more. I think this just turned into a treasure hunt.” Leon sounded positively excited at the prospect. “I’m calling Nathen Drake.” He looked thoughtful for a moment. “Your not cute enough to be Lara, so I guess you can be Indiana Jones.” He smirked.

GM Nightscale’s power slides smoothly over the man, and while his cries of pain hardly lessen his struggles do. With a more cooperative subject and an extra set of hands, Shooting Star and Nightscale are able to soon douse the flames that had spread from his arms to his shoulders and nearly moved on to his head and chest. And while he is extinguished his body still radiates heat from some internal source causing him to tremble and he lays limply on the floor, curled into a fetal position. A large cat sized entity slips from shadow to shadow unseen by the heroes, as Chimera attempts to calm the wild looking one. The blood stained subject having climbed up on top of some piece of equipment she couldn’t identify. The woman swiping at the hero like a scared animal anytime she gets to close. In a moment of distraction, Outrider chances a glance around at her companions. The wet sound of tearing flesh pulls her attention back to their captive mastermind only to witness a large cat-shaped creature standing by Creepshow’s body, his head now hanging by its hair in the creature’s mouth. The harden warrior shakes off the surprise quickly and attempts a swing at the thing but it nimbly dances out of the way and rushes for the double doors they had entered through. It pauses a moment in the light before the door to look back at the gathered heroes and the can all get a good look at it now. The large cat-like body shows a variety of fur patterns along its slightly malformed body, but the most shocking feature is its face. Not the face of a cat or anything cat-like, but a small human face. The face of a child. It’s blue eyes look nearly human but for the cat like slits for pupils. And in its mouth, rows of sharpened teeth hold the swaying, cracked mask covered head of their enemy. For a moment the light catches the eyes behind the mask. The glint almost seeming like an unspoken challenge before the creature turns and races out the doors. It easily sprints down the hall and turns down the side passage they heroes passed on their way in. It’s smaller frame easily slipping through the pipe crowded passage the would stop the heroes. In the aftermath of their struggle police and emergency services are called in. Chimera offering to stay and talk to them if the younger heroes wanted to leave before they arrived. In the end the creature vanished int the night with the villain’s head and his pot victims were taken away to secure facilities where there conditions could be tended to, though not with any promise of being fixed. Some being more cooperative then others. A news report on the events has little details and none of the subjects are identified. But the anchor calmly states that one of the subjects manage to escape in route and remains at large, as an image of a blood stained woman appears over his shoulder on the screen.

Leon Leon quickly joined the others by the body. At Owain’s remarks to the wounds had to take the other boys word for it since he couldn’t bring himself to look too closely. It was his first this close to an actual dead body. He did his best to compose himself. He glanced up at the tiny broken window so many floors up that Artificer pointed out. “Hmm. This is bad.” He said as he pulled out his phone and punching in 911. It rung only twice before it connected. Leon stepped away from the body as he spoke into the phone. “Hello. I’d need to report a dead body.” He paused, obviously listening to the operator. “He fell out of a window.” Another phase before he angrily replied. “What? No this isn’t a prank. Where?” Leon glanced back at the building for a moment to get the address, before giving the operator the information. “Anything else?” He glanced at the body. “It looks like something attacked him before he fell.” He paused then looked at the others. “Ya, sure. We’ll stay put and wait ‘til they get here.” Leon ended the call. Leon looked around at the others with a smirk. “Sounds to me, like we all agree we should ‘wait’ inside.” His smirk quickly disappears and he looks at Nightscale. “I don’t know if she can hide big you, but that’d be a helluva entrance.” He chuckled and looked to Shooting Star. “Quiet could work too if you can carry us, I can make a sling to hold us. But We need to know what’s up there.” He glanced at the body again, not knowing about Neko’s eyes inside. “I know I don’t want any surprises.”

GM Far above, a multitude of small eyes watched from dark corners. Neko could see most of the floors above were empty. Just the one held the large gathering of guests. She could see the armed men moving around like bandits of old, collecting wallets and jewelry, as three men watched. The bug man, the shark man, and the one with the glowing eyes. In the hall a pair of eyes catches another large bald man in wrestling pants get into the elevator with a handful of armed men In a separate office a pair of yellow eyes watch from above on darken shelf. A large man with a red mustache and bear claws is intimidating at an older man in a suit as he rambles nervously. “I’m serious, I don’t know where it is in the vault. That was my parter James’ responsibility.” The larger man with a hefty red mustache towers over him. “We already had a talk with your partner and he ain’t saying much anymore. So you better figure it out.” The older man raises his hands in a placating gesture. “M-maybe there’s something in his office that’s says where it is.” The red haired man seems to back off a little and nods the man towards the door. In a similarly furnished office across the room another set of eyes shows Neko two teens. A lean girl with short red hair peeks between drawn curtains, watching the larger room as a dirty blonde haired boy rummages through the desk. Neither are dressed for the party. ———————— Below, in the courtyard, the teens gather around the body as they try to figure out the best way up. They can easily spot the light from one of the floors as the other floors are dark. Anyone looking around can spot a man in a security uniform at a large desk in the lobby beyond the glass front of the office building. He doesn’t seem to have noticed what’s happening outside.
