Go to another world they said. It’ll be fun they said. The family was nice and all, and the kids ate up every story he could come up with. But there were only so many he could tell them without digging into his more questionable adventures. But no cute girls hung around the farm and there wasn’t anywhere nearby he could sneak off to. Nearly all his time he was around one of the older heroes. “Sci-fi TV shows lied to me.” Leon signed under his breath as he wiped his brow. “I bet this was Pan’s idea.” He looked up from the field he was helping in near Gaian, as a huge bee flew overhead. With a snap of his fingers the large paper cat that had been tilling the soil stopped and regarded him. Leon started to follow the Knight and the paper cat fell in step beside him. “Can’t say I’ve ever had a nightmare like that, but I might now. Thanks for the nightmare fuel.” He smirked as he stood beside Gaian Knight. “And if you don’t, we’ll let’em take you back to the hive.” Paper added with a mischievous grin.

GM Brute strode along as if nothing had happened just a few moments ago. The larger man slowed his pace for a few steps as he seem to be trying to think. The girl looked from Nightscale, to Chimera then back at him. She swallowed and tried not to sound as scared as she obviously was, even though her voice cracked just a little. ”J-Jamie.” She chanced a look up at her captor but the he didn’t seem to notice the short conversation. Brute slowed further and stopped walking, fully lost in some mental process. He blinked at Outrider and cocked his head slightly. Maybe it was just Nightscale’s power. Maybe how nicely they were acting helped. Either way, he gave the apocalyptic warrior an off-putting smile, with its too many and mismatched teeth. ”MasTeR liKe sTROnG.” He nodded to Outrider and shifted his ‘bundle’ into his hands. Jamie let out a cry of surprise as her abductor held her out towards the heroine. Brute shook his head as he hand Jamie to Outrider. ”MaSteR is MAstEr. maSTer Is sMaRtESt. MAsteR fIxeD BruTe.” He says as he turns to start walking again and strange eyes continued to follow the group.

Chimera Chimera felt sorry for the poor man, or rather what seemed to be left of him. Whoever had done this to him was the real monster. Even if they caught this ‘master’ and turned him over to the authorities, could this one ever be helped? As she hurried to followed the larger man, she gave Jamie an apologetic look and tried to give her a reassuring nod. She still wasn’t sure how he was doing it, but the boy seemed to have turned the big guy’s aggression off. Was She was glad the others seem ready to go along with this until they could find an opportunity to save her friend. “Do you know your... master’s name?” Chimera tried to hide her discomfort it calling whoever was pulling this poor man’s strings, master.

Chimera glanced from one door to the next before Ghost spoke up. She glanced back at him with obvious surprise, then towards the door the voices were coming from. Her brow furrowed as she concentrated on the voices for a moment. Then the anger set in. Chimera moved over to the door, her fists were clenched and her shoulders were tensed. Then, in one swift motion she kicked at the door.

"Invisible?" Leon chuckled. "Do you know how much easier that woulda made my life?" When he caught the sirens, he frowned. “If there are still cops running around and not doing anything about this, I think we should avoid them.” He said seriously. “Rash? Us?” Leon smirked, but he shivered a bit as the shadows crept over him. Humor makes an excellent defense mechanism when one is uneasy. “You realize, I’m gonna have to tell Luke you were all over me during this trip.”

Leon grinned again as he watched the barriers tossed aside. "Thanks for the assist." He nodded to El as the paper creation collapsed. The paper drew back along the ground to him, flowing back into the pack. Climbing back into the rear of Painkiller he settled in as Elena suggested heading to the police. Leon gave a mock gagging expression and slouched back, but he conceded. "Ya, you're right guess." "Hmm..." Leon thought about it. "I guess we just head on in." He follows behind the girls as they approach the entrance. "Kinda weird, walking into station escorted." He chuckles as they walk up.

GM Brute seemed to reaction to the name Matthew as he hits the said of his head with the heel of his palm several times as he breaks eye contact, closing his eyes tightly. ”No...! OnlY BrUte! mAsteR kNOws!” The sudden motion jerks his hostage, extracting a cry of fear. Brute looks in Nightscale’s direction, making eye contact for only a moment. But it’s long enough for the Claremonter to reestablish his power on the apparently fearful monster of a man. Brute noticeably calms again. “MaStEr’s ordErs.” The big man’s head swings over to look at Outrider again. He cocks his head to the side as the she retracts her helmet, like her having a head under it was a surprise. Brute’s brow furrowed with the obvious effort of thinking. Slowly he nods his head. “HelP... heLp MAster wiTh giRl.” The decision seeming made, the big man turns and starts to walk again down the alley. The girl under his arm biting back another cry at she tries to look back at the heroes. Sirens pierce the night somewhere nearby and strange eyes watch from the shadows.

Chimera “Last girl?” Chimera didn’t have time to think about the implications of this as the big guy continued to back away from them. He didn’t seem to be about to run yet, but he was nervous and she didn’t want to push it and lose their chance. “Matthew? Does she know him?” She wondered for a moment before she realized. ”Oh, Math... It’s a logical leap.” “That’s right.” She agreed, supporting the others. “We’re heroes. We help people. Maybe we can help your master too.” She added hastily. Without approaching she tried to catch Jamie’s attention and reassure her. She honestly didn’t know what she would have done if these other heroes hadn’t shown up. She owed them big time.

Leon has a lifting strength of 60 when uses paper to do the lifting. let me know if I need to roll anything.

Leon slipped out of the backseat, standing by the open driver’s door, smirking as the goons folded under the stern glares for the his traveling companions. “Stuck?” Leon barely gave the barriers a second look before he reached into the back of Painkiller and withdrew his backpack. ”Well then, let’s help you with that. After all, it’s what heroes do right? Being helpful and all.” Unzipping the pack and tipping it paper poured out like water pooling and swirling beside him. The paper flowed forward and funneled up behind the girls before forming into a 10+ foot tall, paper white, gorilla-like creature. The thing approached the barriers, heedless of the obsidian spikes. Reaching for one of the barriers it grabs onto it and tries to lift it with every intention to toss it aside and then do the same the other one.

Chimera blinked at the display and grimaced behind he mask. ”Idoit. Why to look like a noob.” ”Well... ah, right.” She cleared her throat and stood. When Ghost motioned her to take the lead she nodded and stepped into the stairway. Quietly and cautiously she descended, finding herself at the end of a hall. ”Okay, just need to find the right office.” She says in a lowered voice as she glances around for cameras. Slipping down the hall, moving from door to door she paused long enough to look for a name plate and listen for the voices that were coming from one of the offices on her left. Paying more attention to and job titles or department indicators that may be on them. Trying the handles of rooms she didn’t hear anything from.

Leon shook his head again as the dizziness crept on. He felt like Holly’s presence was the only thing keeping him standing. The smooth fabric of her dress sent a tinkle up the fingers of his real hand. When a scream erupted somewhere nearby Leon started to turn towards it, but the pressure of Holly pulling him close drew his attention back to her. “Boring? Ya.” He agreed half dazed. As he looked at her his eyes unfocused bit and something about her changed. Was her hair that short a minute ago? ”I like exciting.” He gave a slightly wistful grin. Someone bumped into him and Leon shot them a glare, but his anger quickly changed to surprise. The man’s profile was blurred at the edges but Leon thought he recognized a familiar face. Officer Bridges? The cop that had caught him shoplifting with his foster brother 4 years ago... As the man disappeared into the crowded dance floor, Leon looked around hurriedly. He eyes slid from blurry face to blurry face. Was that the gang member that had assaulted him after they had runaway? Was that a glimpse of a badge on somebody’s belt? Was that a gun grip under someone’s coat? Leon grabbed for Holly’s hand instinctively. Intent on pulling her off the dance floor. The tendrils of some undefinable fear was brushing up against him.

Having avoided the pressure pads as Ghost took out the cameras Chimera had time to turn her attention away from the possible need to tear the door from its frame and take another look at the key pad. She examined the pad, there was a small display set above the number keys. It wasn't much to see, but it gave her a bit of information, namely just how many key inputs in the passcode there were. Squinting at the keys she could see dust clinging to a few of the buttons, probably caught by the natural oils left behind when people touch things. Chimera smiled behind her mask, if the keys were correct this just got much easier. "With 10 digits there are 10,000 possible combinations for a 4 digit code. But if you can narrow down the numbers used you can reduce those possibilities dramatically." Tapping on specific keys she begins inputting codes with incredibly speed, speaking casually as she does so. "Even just removing one or two numbers cuts the possible combinations almost in half. But if you can narrow it down to just the 4 digits used, with no numbers being repeated, you're left with only 24 possible combinations." She continues to tap away. "It's like narrowing down a pool of suspects until you can place the proper person in the proper place." Chimera chuckled at her own play on words, as bad as it was, and hoped she wasn't wrong in front of the professional hero watching her. "Why does it feel like my father is watching over my shoulder?"

Leon lounged in the backseat, his foot tapping and his head bobbing with along with the music. He sung along with a catchy chorus here and there when he could. Smirking whenever he caught someone honking at them. Chitchatting with the girls he was somehow still able to spilt his attention with a book. As they took the exit for Rodney actually set his book down and sat up straighter. When Elena stopped the car at the barriers Leon leaned forward between the seat again. ”Don’t waste you time on these two El, nobody leaves the smart ones to guard the door.” Leon spoke from his own experiences. He smirked mischievously. ”So, who wants to knock?” He asks, seeing if one of them wanted to handle these two mooks or if they’d rather sit back and watch this time.

“Huh? Oh.” Chimera looked a little embarrassed, but took Ghost’s offered hand, letting him get her to the roof. She could have used the fire escape she had spotted, but if he was going to offer his help it would be rude to refuse. ”Thanks.” She said once up top. The door was there across from them, set into a small building on the roof. Mounted beside it was a security panel. Chimera didn’t move for a moment as she looked around. ”I’d be surprised if there wasn’t at least one camera watching the door. As soon as we show up on a security monitor, the clock will start ticking.” She said seriously, eyeing the keypad. Taking a deep breath she quickly crossed the roof to the door. She took a moment to get a closer look at the pad then glanced back at Ghost. ”Don’t suppose you know about bypassing these things?” Chimera asked jokingly as she examined the door, trying to decide the best way to force it. The actual locking mechanisms were usually the strongest part. But a lot of people don’t think about the hinges being weak points she thought. For a moment she actually thought she might have to try pulling the whole frame out of the wall.

Leon stood on the curb, backpack slung over one shoulder, looking down at his phone as Painkiller pulled up. ‘Still the most metal name he’d heard someone give a car.’ He grinned as he looked up from the blog video he was rewatching. The three of them had happen to be in the common room when they had stumbled upon the post together while ‘educating’ Elena on current pop-culture. “Ready to rock!” He replied stepping up to the car. He slipped the pack off and tossed it in back as he opened the door and settled into back. Letting Muirne have shotgun so he could stretch out some in the backseat. “The girl looks good El.” He commented, realizing she had put some serious effort in to banging out the dents after its rough arrival. “Let’s get this show on the road then.” Leon grinned as he leaned forward between the front seats. ”Windows down and volume up.”
