“Brother?” Leon thought as Holly pulled him further in to the crowded dance floor. He was glad he hadn’t commented on the DJ’s handle. He couldn’t help but grin a little as she brushed up against him. “I can’t speak for everyone else, but I’m defs having a good time already.” ”What’s it like?” Leon smirked and chuckled. “Boring mostly, with flashes of entertainment.” On the edges of his vision colors began to blur, starting to melt into each other. The pulsing lights of the club seemed to me melding with the movements of the crowd. The music felt like it was actually playing inside his head. Leon blinked and shook his head once, trying to clear it but the sensations only continued. “Maybe I should’ve had Luke grab me a water.” He reached out to try to steady himself. His hands grabbing for Hollys waist as he felt like he could start to float.

Leon was enjoying the music with the others. The DJ may had had a silly name but at least he was keeping the party going. When Luke suddenly announced he was going to get drinks Leon smirked. ”Good kid, bout as subtle as a jackhammer sometimes.” Leon joked as his friend slipped off into the crowd. He turn his attention back to Holly and smiled. ”You here with friends tonight? Did they ditch you?”

GM The Brute didn’t seem to be sure what to do. In his arm Jamie seemed to go sill, trying to crane her neck enough to back up at him. Her chest heaved as she swallowed nervously. The big man shook his head. ”Ma-masTer sAid briNG back GirL.” Brute looked at Outrider, his eyes unfocused like he was trying to think. ”M-maTH...” He grunts and puts his empty head to his head as if in pain. ”No, nO naMe... oNLy Brute.” He shook his head as if to shake off some pain when Shooting Star placed a head on his shoulder. The big man visibly flinches as if from reflex. Stepping away from the caped heroine. Brute shakes his head briefly and puts his other hand on the girl protectively and Jamie barely stifles a fearful cry. ”Ma-maSteR anGRy wiTh laSt wr-RonG Girl.” He takes another step back from Shooting Star, almost backing into Chimera. Stepping away from her out of surprise he looks around nervously, not even bothering to acknowledge Chimera’s plea.

Chimera Chimera had looked at the boy like he had grown a second head when he started trying to Tagalog to the man. But she was thankful for the mask covering at least part of her face when the Brute actually seemed to be responding. She didn’t know how he was doing it but she knew better then to look a gift horse in the mouth. The other two girls seemed to have pick up his cue as well and were trying to talk to him. The caped one even going so far as to offer herself in exchange. “Yes, it would be very kind of you to let her go.” She added, stepping a little closer to Brute herself. She hoped Jamie could keep her cool until they could get her free.

Chimera grimaced as Ghost pointed out the flaws in her train of thought. ”I’m not expecting a big glowing arrow pointing to it like in some kind of game.” She conceded. “But it’s at least an objective. Or if I can trace the emails back to a sender, it’d be a starting point.” She took a deep breath and stepped up to the edge of the roof top and readied to climb down. Chimera hesitated for a moment. She hadn’t been sure what he was going to stay or leave her to her own chances. She smiled in relief that she wasn’t going to be alone this time. The techno-organic symbiote covered her mouth against and she let herself over the edge and made her way down to the street. Moving quickly, she crossed to the Bastion side of the street. She tried to keep her eyes open for external cameras as she looked for the best way up to to the tech company’s roof.

Blackstaff’s hand came up as the men piled out the front doors. The tiny metal sheiks woven into his bracket jingling slightly as his will flowed through it. The gunfire slamming harmlessly into it and he noticed one or two of those would have hurt tremendously given their trajectories when his magic stopped them. He dislike guns, though he knew their value when magic wouldn’t work. Still, these particular ones were currently being deployed in his direction, and that wouldn’t do. Blackstaff make a quick sideways chopping motion and barked an harsh sounding word. ”Hexious!” Raw magical energy poured out of the wizard to wash over the men. The power meant jinx their weapons. Causing feeding mechanisms to jam, keep powder from igniting, cause firing pins to misfire, whatever was needed to keep them from work... even if it is just for a moment or two. He hoped to sow confusion and waste their time. Most people took the time to clear their weapon and try again. But sometimes they would get frustrated and discard them, giving him the advantage. Once in a while he gets lucky and the run away without their guns to hide behind. Blackstaff mentally crossed his fingers.

"Indeed, never believe everything you hear and only half of what you see." Blackstaff replied looking up at the nightmare unflinchingly. "Besides, I never said if those things were good or bad." The wizard stood and gripped his blasting rod, adding without any malice. "To assume the worst, speaks more of you then me." He glanced up at the roofs for a moment looking for Dreamer. He hadn't seen Rebellion and was still unaware of his presence at the scene.

GM Brute’s confusion was changing to annoyance as he glared at Shooting Star. He started to reach for her again when the ground shook under his feet at the detonation of Outrider’s pulse. With a stumble he swung his arm around, grabbing the lip of one of those large commercial trash bins. The metal squealing as it twisted and bent in his grip, leaving an impression as he recovered his balance. As he turned to face the heroes behind him he was obviously unhappy with all of their interference. Clenching a fist he started to raise his hand when something unexpected happened. The magic in Nightscale’s words seemed to enrapture the monstrous man. The clenched fist opens as the Brute visibly relaxes. The anger in his face replaced by confusion again. When he slowly speaks, his voice is rough and cracked. “Fr-fRii-eeNds?”

She had a cute laugh Leon thought. He wasn’t sure that the line had actually worked. “Guess that means I still don’t own Richard 10 bucks.” He thought with a smirk as he let Holly lead them towards the dance floor. ”That’s a pretty name.” He didn’t even notice the incident with the DJ. “Purple Haze? That’s a silly DJ name.” But he could appreciate the change in music. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, years of criminal experience was yelling at him to pay attention but, well... pretty girl.

Chimera was glad the symbiote covered her cheeks as Ghost correctly guessed that Freestyle had escaped her. “Something like that.” She agreed. She was looking across at the building she realized what he was saying. “Wha.. ah.” Chimera was caught off guard for a moment and looked over at Ghost. Looking back across the street she thought for a moment. ”Shoot. Come on think Jenny, what would a real hero do?” She bit her lip behind her mask as her brow furrowed. ”I doubt someone was careless enough to leave a window open. So, maybe the roof...” She started, sounding a little unsure at first. The covering over the lower half of her face opened reflexively as she bit her thumbnail thoughtfully. “The roof access will probably have an alarm.” ”Oh my god, I have no plan. What am I thinking? I’m going to look like a fool in front of him. Think. Think. Think...” Chimera though quickly, thankful for the symbiote’s boost to her speed both mentally and physically. ”Once inside, gain access to the servers try to trace any queries on Dr. Kent’s research. Hopefully that will point to the next link in the chain. Maybe get lucky and find the thumb drive in the building somewhere.” Chimera was careful not to use ‘we’ or ‘us’. She didn’t want to assume Ghost’s intentions. She glance sideways at him, trying to judge his opinion.

Blackstaff bit back a curse as the guard reacted faster then he anticipated. The man rushed at him with a sword ready but was dropped but Carnifex’s strike. He frowned at the nightmare but held his tongue for now. He moved forward to check the man, hoping Dreamer’s creation hadn’t killed one of them. Blackstaff could hear the calls to action inside and tried to hurry. ”I am.” He replied, regarding Carnifex as he moved to check the other man. “Your creator certainly has had... ‘things’ to say about you.”

Chimera blinked and looked up at Ghost. It took her a moment to recognize him from what he said. ”That’s right, it was the bank robbery.” She nodded as she watched him float down. Realizing he was another hero had let her relax a little. She looked back across at the Bastion building when he joined her. She gave a small sigh and frowned behind the face plate that covered her mouth and nose. ”Could be nothing, but it’s the only lead I could think of. Earlier today, someone called Freestyle broke into one of the University labs and copied some experimental research. From want little I was able to gather from the head of the project, Bastion had been in contact with him and seemed very eager to get their hands on it.” She put her hands on her hips. ”It feels like a pretty weak excuse to break in, but it’s all I have to go on.” Chimera gave a weak little shrug of resignation.

“Can’t say we have.” Leon smiles. ”Pretty sure we’d remember someone so... well, pretty.” He chuckled. “We may have been in the area.” Leon didn’t actually admit anything when Luke all but tells her ‘Why yes, that was us.’ He winced a bit remembering the riot act the faculty had read them for acting ‘out of costume’. He shot the back of Luke’s head a look as the other boy stepped up closer. His roomie looked like he could play high school football and a lot of girls seemed to prefer that to his leaner build. He supposed they were about to see which this girl preferred. He wouldn’t be mad at Luke or the girl, but he’d sure as hell tease him about it later. Leon smiles back at the girl. ”My name’s Leon, and this is Luke. So, what can we call you... other then gorgeous?”

Chimera stood on the dimly lit rooftop as the rain ran in rivulets along the rough edges of the techno-organics that twined around her. She stared across at the Bastion building lost in thought. ”Geez, I wish I had an umbrella.” The rain was soaking her through the open spaces of the symbiote. She hugged herself to try to work some warmth back into her arms as she contemplated the best way to enter the building. ”Let’s call it what it is, breaking and entering.” She sighed and mentally psyched herself up when she noticed something. A shadow was falling on her. “Shitshitshit...” Chimera spun around, raising an arm defensively.

Alrighty, Brute is going to attempt to grab Shooting Star and toss her at Outrider. Grab attack: 7 Nevermind, he whiffs. Chimera is up, and while he seems to be distracted she will attempt an opposed grapple to break her friend free. Grab attempt: 11 HP to try again: 9+10=19 Chimera Grapple: 30 Brute Grapple: 38 An impressive attempt, but ultimately futile. The girl remains in his grip. Next up Nightscale and Outrider @Nerdzul @Lone_Star

Chimera The big guy didn’t seem to be very smart. But he was obviously distracted though and Chimera thought she could seize the moment. Reaching out she grabs for his arm. At her fingers slip on the ragged fabric of his dirty coat, but she quickly reacts and manages to get a firm grip around his forearm. “Hang on.” Chimera pulls, straining against the thick muscles of Brute and for a moment it looks like it might budge, but when he turns his attention back to Shooting Star he shrugs her off. Chimera stumbles and reaches out for Jamie. ”No!” The girl is left swinging under her kidnapper’s arm as she continues to struggle uselessly.

GM If Brute heard Shooting Star, he appeared to pay her no mind as he seem to understand he was surrounded. He would have to fix that if he was to continue on. Turning his attention back to the armored Outrider the big man reached back blindly for Shooting Star. He didn’t seem to account for the half step back she had taken and a hand that looked as if it could palm her head snatched at the air right in front of her nose. As he groped around, the caped hero easily stepped further back out of reach. He looked back towards Shooting Star in visible confusion and annoyance.

That is a hit. But his Impervious tanks Nightscale's strike as easily as it did Chimera's. And that brings us back to the top of the order with Shooting Star who is dazed for this round. @Kaede Kimura You're up.
