Freestyle turned and started to skate off, but she had made a slight miscalculation. The roof didn’t give room to open up, but this was an open ground and Chimera was going to take advantage of it. Her legs tensed and she could feel the symbiote respond in kind. The tendrils around her readied and she could feel it’s reach through her muscles all the way to her bones. It was a feeling she was getting use to, but it still sent a chill down her spine. ”Don’t underestimate me.” A fraction of a second later, her body exploded with energy as she launched forward. She closed the distance with Freestyle in the span of a few heart beats and lashed out. She aimed an open palm at her back with the intention of knocking the wind out of the woman.
-
Chimera stumbled as Freestyle dodged her elbow. Catching her self at the edge, she watched with surprise as the woman dropped off the side. When she saw the thief catch herself Chimera caught herself feeling relieved, then her anger returned. ”Guess I don’t have much of a choice.” She sighed. Taking a couple steps back, Chimera ran and jumped clear of the roof. She had never tried to see just how far she could fall without hurting herself, but it looked like she was about to find out. Her eyes were squeezed tight as she fell, waiting for the impact. She felt a sudden jerk and thought she has landed for a moment, but realized something wasn’t right. Opening her eyes she looked down, then back over her shoulder. Giant leathery wings now stretched out from her back, spread wide and slowing her fall. ”What the hell?” Chimera still hit the ground with a slight jolt, but recovered quickly. Looking back over her shoulder again she was shocked to see the wings already shriveling up, curling up on themselves and beginning to be reabsorbed. ”Okay, I really wish I could talk to you.” She muttered to herself since the symbiote had never responded to her before, then remembered what she was doing and returned her attention back to Freestyle.

Leon couldn’t help but laugh in agreement. He glanced sideways at Pan as the other seems to take a moment to think. “hmm...” Leon thought for a moment. “Ever regretted helping someone?”

Spending a HP to power stunt. Subbing out 2PP Speed. Flight 2 (25mph air speed, Flaw: Gliding) [2PP] (techno-organic, symbiotic, alien, nanobot) Did I do that right?

Leon listened as Elena recounted her world to them. The ringing in his ears had settled into a dull buzz he could ignore. The ice pack had done well to numb the thump to his head. “Ya, Chronia. She’s on my squad during class.” Leon added as Coach Armstrong ran up, he regarded the Claremont faculty. Leon coughed and thumbed over at the scattered wreckage of the drones. “They did it.” It took every ounce of willpower Leon possessed, but he managed to keep a straight face. “Oh, she is going to be sooo much fun to have around.” He grinned over at Luke. When no one was looking, Leon glanced down at his left arm. It took a moment of forced will but he was happy to see his fingers move a little. He shivered some more as he followed after the others. He slowly lifted his hand and put it in his pocket as he walked.

Blackstaff nodded to Dreamer. “If that’s what he would like to do.” He offered as he regarded Advay, sipping his coffee as the professor made himself more ‘comfortable’. He could sympathize. Research took a long time, and to suddenly loose so much of it would be hard on a man like him. Glancing over at the professor’s boxes on the deck of the Red Summer, he could only imagine how much the man had been forced to leave behind. And perhaps more importantly, just how potentially dangerous what he brought with him must be. ”You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself. We could just as likely be sitting here with him, instead of you. But you are the one in the here and now.” Blackstaff set his cup down and leaned over to pay the naga’s arm. ”Whatever you decide to do there will be consequences. That said...” He looked across at Dreamer. “Things are in a rather volatile state right now. Perhaps it’s best the professor keeps his head down until tempers cool and things settle down? In time, maybe he return and give his case without fear.”

Gonna try for a Stunning Attack: 15

At the Freestyle’s gesture, Chimera eyes flickered down as she landed. She had enough time to ponder. ’Ah, so this is how Wile E Coyote feels’ The small discs ticked their final ticks and started to explode. Luckily, this time, she was faster. Bits of the explosives bounced off of her protective armor in. If she had spared a look back, Chimera would have felt even more like a cartoon, leaving a cloud in her wake as she bolted after the retreating Freestyle. She had to think of something quickly, they would hit the other end of the roof in no time. Pushing herself to catch up with the thief, Chimera attempted to drive an elbow into the other girl’s side like in one of those roller derby videos she’d seen online.

Leon accepted the offered ice pack, nodding to Danica. “Thanks.” He held it to the back of his head, only wincing once when he did so, and turned his attention back to the group. When Luke introduced him he gave her a quick mock salute. “That’s a helluva name.” He smirked. “How bout we just call you Outrider? Lot quicker to yell in combat... and usually that’ll be accompanied by a ‘look out’ or ‘duck’ if you hang out around here for long.” “A what now?” Leon ask almost at the same time as Luke, tilting his head a little. After explanations, Leon regarded the overturned car then looked at Luke, who as far as he knew was the strongest of their group. “How about giving the girl a hand.” He said nodding his head towards the car. “So she can see if she’s driving home or calling for a tow.”

Chimera glared up at the empty space where Freestyle had just disappeared back out of sight from. Grabbing the window frame she swung herself out on to the window ledge. Taking only a moment to judge it, she used the enhanced strength and dexterity afforded to her by the symbiote to jump up on to the roof's ledge. Landing in a crouch she quickly located the woman. "That wasn't exactly fair." She smirked and stood up with confidence. "I'll warn you, I like to run." With that, Chimera leap lightly down from the ledge, braking into a run as soon as her feet touched the rooftop.

Chimera did her best to roll with her failed tackle, only to find herself face to face with a smoke bomb. the smoke filled her vision and somewhere she heard glass break. Climbing to her feet she scrambled towards where she had heard what she assumed was a window. ‘We’re on the 6th floor, is she crazy?... Think about Jen, if she jumped out the window she must be confident she can escape. After all, it is how she got in.’ Stumbling around furniture, Chimera followed the feel of the colder breeze from outside to find the window. She couldn’t let... ‘Freestyle, is that what she called herself?’... She couldn’t let Freestyle get away. Not after making a complete fool of herself so far. Once she can find the window, Chimera tries to locate Freestyle, looking around below. Then chides herself and scans the nearby rooftops, listen for the other’s escape.

Leon failed to heed his roommate’s warning as he grinned. He didn’t even notice the few lights on along the street go out as he watched the drone shake, the electricity coursing through its circuits. His grin vanished though a moment later just as he realized what was about to happen. Even as the gauntlets fell apart and he tried to call the paper to him the drone exploded. Scattered paper absorbed a good chunk of the deadly blast, but Leon was still thrown back by it. The snow did little to cushion his landing and the back of his head connected with something solid, the last of the paper floating to the ground without his will to guide it. His ears still ringing, he slowly gathered himself and found his feet enough to get up. Staggering a bit Leon reached out and steadied himself on the car he apparently had been thrown into. Reaching back he felt a little bit of wetness and a start of what promised to be a healthy bump on the back of his head. His vision swam a little as he looked down at his red fingers, before he shook his head trying to clear it and wipe the blood off in the snow. “Yeah, I’ll be fine.” He answered with a wince as he heard everyone calling to checked on each other. He gave Muirne a brief wave with his right hand. “Don’t worry about it. I’ve had worse.” He started to shiver a little as the cold began to set in, the paper jacket he had been wearing scattered across the street. He frowned and realized his left arm was hanging stiff and lifeless at his side. Try as he may Leon couldn’t get the real looking arm to respond. He quickly looked around, turning his body so his left arm was out of sight. His head was still buzzing and he hoped no one would notice before he got it back under control. “How’s Lady Fallout?” He asked to divert further attention to the new girl. Leon gave his roommate a teasing smirk as he walked over. “Elena? On a first name basis already?” He lightly punched Luke’s shoulder with his working hand. “You move fast.“ He smiled up at Elena. “What he said, welcome to town. Sooo... is this a normal thing to happen with you?” He asked, thumbing back at the debris.

Chimera had closed the distance between them and grabbed hold of the women before she could back up further. She smiled back confidently only to have the her easily twist and slip away. “Hey! Come back here.” She called after the escaping woman. Chimera ran to catch up, doing her best to avoid the desks, chairs and other obstacles. ’How is she so nimble on those things?’ She thought both impressed and annoyed. She tried to judge the woman’s movements. When she thought she had the chance Chimera vaults one of the desks and tries to tackle the would be thief.

Leon watched as Luke’s spectral claws tore into the drone. The young hero must have hit something critical, the mechanical monstrosity violently exploded. But in that fraction of a moment, as the wave of destruction threaten to wash over him, the paper reacted instinctively. Even as his arms reflexively came up to shield his face, his jacket collapsed into a swirl of paper that formed into a barrier before him. Shrapnel and heat slammed into the barrier, carried by the force of the explosion. A moment later just when Leon was about to drop the barrier a second attack hammered it. Purple arches of electricity lashed around its edges but none of them touched him. And like that, it passed and the barrier collapsed. The paper showing only mild signs of singeing at the edges and small pieces of metal embedded in them. His jacket was gone, but he would worry about that later. For now adrenaline was keeping him warm. “Show off!” Leon yelled at his roommate jokingly. “My turn.” Thrusting his hands forward, the live cable carrying gauntlets lunged at the remaining Omgeadrone.

“That is how I play nice.” Leon laughs and looks over at Pan. He tries, but fails to get a read on the young man. With a noncommittal shrug he looks away again. ”Bet she’d think it was funny. But, whatever.” “Can I ask you another question?” Leon asks after a moment. “Why be a hero? It won’t pay the bills. No really thanks you, but one slip up and every jumps on you.” He frowns, obviously some confusion in his face as he looks at the sky. ”What drives people to do it. What makes a you do it?”
