  1. Leon cursed again as the Omegadrone slipped free of his snare at the last second, leaving the paper chain to fall to the ground. His anger was only slightly appeased by the fact that the others were having only marginally better luck, if any, them him. “Ya, of course. Cause those are totally in my power set.” He muttered to himself as he glared at the mechanical menaces. Something caught his attention and he gave a wicked smirk. Brushing his fingers along the paper chain, it fell apart as he ran along it. The paper follows and sweeps past him, swarming up in mass and quickly shearing through the thick insulation of the over head power lines, exposing the bare metal cables. He skids to a stop and reaches out both hands in grabbing motions. The swirling paper coalesces into giant, disembodied gauntlets that mimic his hands as they grab on to the lines. With a quick wrenching motion, the paper gauntlets tear the power lines free and Leon turns to face the drones. Standing there in the snow covered street, the disembodied gauntlets holding the power lines ready. Leon grins as he yells a warning to those in close combat. ”CLEAR!” He chuckles. “Ha, always wanted to say that.”

  3. Chimera cursed under her breath. She hadn’t even noticed the USB. Scrambling, she gets her feet back under her. ”Don’t make this harder for yourself.” ’Wow, that sound lame even to me.’ She thought, mentally wincing at what she just said. She was going to need to work on her hero speak. The woman was rolling back already, obviously easy to make run... skate?... for it. Chimera rushes after the other girl, trying to be careful of the tripwire by the door. She tries to grab for her.
  4. Paper growls is frustration as his initial attack misses. Both drones dodging the spike. The girl’s hammer and his classmate’s shadow fail to connect solidly, but then a small ghostly turtle takes a chunk out of the first drone. ”Oh, I am not getting shown up but a baby turtle.” With a sweep of his arm the rigid spike sudden lashes like a whip as it strikes out at the undamaged drone attacking the new arrival. The paper tendril flows and changes, a giant fanged maw opens as it shifts into a monstrous serpent. Snapping it’s jaws closed the outer skin of the snake explodes. The drifting paper revealing a chain stretching back to anchor into the ground where the original spike had been.
  5. Snare on Drone 2: 9... HP to reroll: 20
  6. Leon gave a sharp laugh. “Geez, ask me something a little easier, like ‘what’s the meaning of life?’.” He paused, giving a look of mock thoughtfulness. “I have a criminal record, questionable ethics and the ability to talk to and control paper.” Leon smirked. “There’s alway corporate America, or politics.” He laughed and hopped off the swing. “Maybe Hollywood or Vegas, can see my name up in lights.” Leon gave a shrug. “Honestly, I have no idea. Guess I’ll play it by ear.” He glanced back at Pan. “But, I promise I’ll try to play nice with others. Speaking of which...” Leon pulled a deck of cards from inside his jacket and gave Pan a grin as he shuffled them. “I’m trying to get a ‘friendly’ game together.” The cards moved quickly and easily from hand to hand as he redirected. ”How about you? What’cha gonna do after leaving here? You and Tinkerbot gonna head back to Neverland?” Leon teased the older boy.
  7. I’m gonna say it was the Blast 8 edit: piercing attack I guess since its a spike, if it matters.
  8. Guessing that’ll be an attack roll. 18
  9. “Someone stop the car before someone get hur-“ Leon was yelling back when the car suddenly swung left and flipped itself. Luckily it had stayed in the street and hadn’t hit another vehicle, or worse, landed on a pedestrian. He skidded to a stop for a second in surprise, when an armor clad woman pulled herself out of the wreckage and cried out a challenge in rage directed at the drones. “You.. are not wrong.” Leon once again admired his roommate’s ability to understate the obvious. He let out an impressed whistle then turned his attention back to the... What was it Danica had called them? Omegadrones? ‘They’ll be calling them scrap when we’re done with them.’ Newspapers may harder to find along the sidewalks nowadays, but luckily there’ll always be small ads. Those cheap, freebie black and white flyers and booklets found along sidewalks and on street corners in the big city. The ones used for selling unwanted personals or used cars. Their bins emptied as he called to the paper and it sailed past him into a pool on the street between the overturned car and the oncoming machines. They were easily 8 or so feet long and as unfriendly looking as hell. Leon grinned and called back. “I’ll take the ugly one.” And with a snap of his wrist a giant paper spike erupted from the pool of paper in the street right at the underbelly of one of the drones.
  10. I'd have to match his nat 20, but I'll give it a shot. Sense Motive 22 Nope. ?
  11. Blackstaff nodded thoughtfully as Advay spoke. He listened as the professor told them about the argument, about how it quickly turned deadly. As he did so, Blackstaff tried to get a sense of the man. He liked to think that anyone sensible would realize they were past the point of lying. But as an investigator he maintained a tiny bit of healthy skepticism. When the man paused to ask for a refill, Blackstaff spoke. “Death is hardly ever pretty. I can’t fault you for running, I’ve seen it plenty of times in cases. An accident turns deadly, and out of some primal fear of death people just run.” He sipped the last of his own coffee. ”Then, after they collect themselves, they think it’s been too long and they’ll look guilty if they come forward.” He said apologetically. “I’m sorry, please continue.”
  12. Chimera eyes the woman and manages a small smirk. “I guess quiet surrender is off the table. You can run, but I think I can catch you.” She added, some confidence in her running abilities. ”First things, first though.” She thought and lunged for the computer’s power cord, hoping to pull it and stop whatever the girl was attempting.
  13. Intiative 12... Let’s try that again. HP for... and 23
  14. “Oh my go-“ Leon muttered greedily around a mouth full of hot, delicious grease... I mean burger. “Mmm... ‘is es ‘eabeny.”* (*translation: “Mmm... This is heavily.”) The group for youngsters weren’t even out the door before Leon couldn’t resist the warmth of the burger seeping through the paper into his fingers any more. The paper bag, with its treasury of salt and peppered fries, in his other hand as he followed Muirne out onto the sidewalk. Swallowing the first bite Leon grinned back at Danica. “Okay, point to you, these are really good. Either that or the ones at the cafeteria are just-“ An abnormally warm wind cut through the lightly drifting snow fall. Sudden a flash light herald the arrival of out-of-towners. A car barreled down the snow cover street at dangerous speeds, followed closely by two even more dangerous looking drones “Shit!” Leon finished his statement. It only took a fraction of a second for him to react with the complete disregard for doing the smart thing that only teenage boys can seem to manage. Leon drops his food (the paper wrapping of the burger to encasing it to protect it’s precious contents) and starts to rush ahead, the sound of rustling paper following him.
  15. Initiative 12... And HP to reroll... Booya... 27
  16. "Hmmph." Leon harrumphed and glanced over at Pan again. "I don't know." He smirked. "I've seen your idea of 'fun'. I don't know if I can trust you to tell me how to have a better time." Leon looked back out at the scenery and grinned mischievously. "I don't know if you can keep up with me." He chuckled. "What with you graduating and all. Going off to be a respectable adult. And... gasp... growing up." He rocks lightly on the paper swing. "You know, if you tell anyone about this conversation, I'm gonna deny it. So, If you got anything you wanna talk about, anything you wanna get off your chest..." Leon trailed off, still looking off.
  17. Pan will vouch for Leon... I promise... no need to ask him directly, just take my word on it.
  18. “Riiight.” Chimera drawled as she stepped forward towards the computer. Trying to keep an eye on the girl she added. “I suppose all the ones in the computer lab were taken. And you came in through the window because you don’t like elevators?” Mentally she facepalmed. “Why didn’t I call campus security before I came up here? I am such an idiot.” Chimera tried her best to keep calm. ”Why don’t we just wait for campus security to come, we can sort this all out.” She tried to bluff hopefully.
  19. Chimera’s eyes flickered to the glimpse of the screen she caught as the other woman turned to face her. She looked back at her and uncrossed herself arms. ”Found it.” She said with a tilt of her head. “Now, I’m going to have to ask you to step away for that computer. It’s university property.” Chimera tried to sound authoritative as she took a step towards the woman.
  20. “Haven’t you ever felt so riled up you punched a wall? Did it help anything? No, probably not. But you did it to anyway.” Leon opened his eyes as Pan’s illusions changed. He sighed and walked around the trunk of the tree. “Look, I’m trying. Okay?” He said, sounding a little defeated. Paper fluttered out from his jacket. It swirled around and came together as Leon started to sit, forming an old style chain and board looking swing under him. ”Do you have any idea how easy it would be for me to slip away? To runaway again? Back to them.” Leon looked out at the horizon. ”We’d have to run, but they’d do that for me. Cause they know I’d do it for them. But I don’t want them to have to. So I’m here, trying to be good. But it ain’t easy.” He was quiet for a moment with a thoughtful look. ”People our age shouldn’t know what real sacrifice is yet.” It didn’t sound like it was addressed towards Pan, more like a casual reminder to the universe at large of a fact it had forgotten.
  21. Notice check: 27
  22. Jennifer didn’t... No, the symbiote was out, she was Chimera now... Was ever going to get use to this? Chimera didn’t recognize the girl’s costume, not that she was all that well verse in the hero community. She was going to have to start checking the news more to try to keep up. If the girl was one of the good gals, there shouldn’t be any problem. If not, this could be trouble. Taking breath behind the techno-organic mask Chimera steeled her nerves and stepped into the office. “Don’t suppose I could see your university ID?” She tried to sound casual, but confident as she stood there and crossed her arms. The tendrils of silvery-gray wrapping and twining around her arms, legs and torso. Patches of her jeans and blouse visible underneath it all. Her mouth and nose were covered in a mask like covering, framed by her short black hair. The black of her irises seemed to blend in with her pupils in the dark of the room. ”Nailed it.”
  23. Knowledge, Pop Culture: 21
  24. Two quick questions. Is her back to the door? And would Jennifer possible recognize her from TV? Maybe not who she is exactly, but maybe just if she’s a villain or hero from the costume? Would it be a knowledge check of some kind? ...okay, some maybe four questions technically.
  25. Jennifer tried to creep quietly into the office space, her eyes squinting in the darkness as she peered around. Spotting the open window she had seen from below she took note of the door nearest to it standing open. Inside the walled off room Jennifer could see a silhouette moving around. The hair bristled on the back of her neck and she licked her lips nervously. A familiar tingle crept over her skin, the symbiote responding to her tension began to spread over her flesh like creeping techno-organic vines. "Take it easy." She thought at it. "Maybe there's a perfectly sensible reason someone snuck in through the window... to rummage around an empty office... in the dark." She took the tingle of the symbiote on her cheek to mean it doubted her assumption. "Your objection is noted." As the symbiote covered her nose and mouth Jennifer tried to slip up to the open door and peek inside.
