  1. @Avenger Assembled I think you mean DC 23 (as it is a damage power). The elite drone get a 18, so picks up a second bruise and is dazed. You can go ahead with an action for Owain as well.
  2. GM Carmen's attack finished off the black armored Omegadrone she had focused on, knocking it to the ground and unconscious. Meanwhile, while Martinet dodged the attacks from a pair of Bernadette's duplicates, Bruiser rushed forward toward the Annihilist. Letting out a yell of anger, the hulking figure launched a wild right hook at Martinet, somehow catching her by surprise. *WHAM* The force of the punch could be felt by those nearby, and the few remaining windows on nearby buildings shook slightly. Martinet was knocked off her feet and sent flying across to the block to smash through a wall and into a damaged building. The Annihilist landed hard in the middle of the wreckage strewn about the room and lay there unconscious, finally removed as a threat.
  3. Bruiser runs up to Martinet and tries to punch her. He gets a natural 20! So, that is a DC 31 toughness save. Martinet gets a 12. Will go with the KO here. @Avenger Assembled Neko is up. Just four normal Omegadrones and 1 Elite Omegadrone left in the area.
  4. GM As Vureiz looked up from her finished work and called out to the others she needed to be part of the combined effort, she realized that Spaceman was nowhere to be seen. Where she had recalled him last being located was now a large cube of glowing energy that appeared to have been put up around him. Meanwhile, the reptilian time shade speed back over towards the center of the park where many of the teenage heroes were gathered. As it approached, it fired a quick shot from its energy pistol at Lawernce. But once again the time shade's aim was off and the blast passed harmlessly by the English teen. The human looking time shade that had hit Spaceman with a telekinetic attack turned away now that the teen was trapped in the energy construct before taking to the air carried by telekinetic power. As she approached the center of the park, the time shade sent a telekinetic blast toward Michael, however the attack was poorly aimed as well, blasting a shallow ditch across the grass next to Michael, but not striking the teen at all.
  5. Okay, Varlis will speed over toward Lawrence again and take a shot at him, but again misses. With Spaceman trapped in Cor's energy construct, X'amdi will fly over and send a telekinetic blast at Michael: she also misses! @Poncho Golden Star is up!
  6. Foreshadow II/Synapse – Family Tradition Palace of Versailles Versailles, France Friday August 9, 2024 The mid-morning sun shown down on the stands set up at the Palace of Versailles as Dee Farrington adjusted her sunhat slightly in the warm summer air before turning to her side to do the same for her nearly four-year-old daughter that was seated between her and Erick. Dee was uncharacteristically wearing a sundress, as was Natasha. Her shoulder length hair was still dyed black, although she had a few stripes that she had left her natural blonde. Ten years ago, she and Erick had met at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games. Since then, the couple had made a tradition of attending both the Winter and Summer games that had followed. While the Englishwoman generally preferred the Winter Games (with the many extreme sports she enjoyed, such as snowboarding), Erick had a special connection to the Summer Games, having once been a competitive gymnast that had competed at an international level (including winning at Worlds). Now that Natasha was getting old enough to show an interest in some of the sports, the family had been attending as many of the events at the Paris Games as they could. Yesterday had been the first day of the Pantheon, with the fencing portion for both the men and women taking place back in Paris. Earlier today had been the 200m freestyle race for the men, and now they were waiting for the start of the men’s show jumping competition to begin. "Are we going to see the horses soon?" Natasha asked, her English accent very much similar to her mother's, looking between her parents. "Yes love, you are going to get to see the horses very soon." Dee replied. Erick chuckled at softly at the exchange. "I bet they're gonna jump super high just for you Tashy." The Jersey born, English transplant added with a wink. Though he did have to pull down his sunglasses to actually reveal the motion. Much like his wife and daughter, Erick had taken to breathable attire for the festivities in the French heat. He was donning a crisp, light blue linen button-down shirt paired with slim fitting khaki chinos. As an athletic enthusiast with his own international gymnastics background, these family vacations were an almost cultural experience that the precognitive gymnast got to share with his family. Albeit one with a price point that could only really be repeatedly frequented by a family with their notable wealth. But, it wasn't as if either parent was under any illusions that Natasha's upbringing would not be rife with the opportunities that came from a silver spoon. Such as summers at the Olympics. Is it too early to consider building out some stables? Erick thought as he leaned back in his seat, his musings were not meant to be private. After all, his intended listener could clearly hear the tongue in cheek joke across their shared mental connection. Although Natasha was getting old enough (in addition to showing signs of inheriting her mother’s intelligence) to know when her father was playfully joking, she still could not help but get excited at the possibility the horses might jump higher than normal. The blonde child turned back to look out at the course set out on the grounds below them, eagerly waiting for the competition to begin. The British upper-class is hardly known for restraint in when to start spoiling their children. Dee mentally responded as she glanced over to her husband with a slight smirk. Erick did not need the mental connection to know there was a look to go with the response and smirk, though it was hidden behind Dee’s own sunglasses. And if we did, I am sure my parents would be more than happy to assist in acquiring the best horses for those stables. She then added. While Dee had long had a contentious (and complicated) relationship with her parents (and to a lesser extent her brother), she had chosen not to exclude them from Natasha’s life. In many ways, that had helped improve relations to the best they had been in a long time. Indeed, Dee’s parents had clearly not expected her to be the one to provide their first grandchild. I'm sure they would. Erick chuckled at the sensation of their thoughts intermingling. Barely containing the laugh that wanted to escape his lips. For all that his in laws failed as parents to his wife and sister. He couldn't deny that rich doting grandparents were rich doting grandparents no matter where you went. Reaching over with one hand to ruffle Natasha's hair, Erick's eyes followed the path his daughter's did before going further still. Examining the equestrians at the starting line. After a moment he shrugged and turned his attention back to the course itself. You know at the first one of these, we would have been halfway through getting shot at on the snowmobiles by now. He teased. "It's kind of funny. Gymnastics judging is often too strict, but the judges for this are too lax. I guess no matter the sport, best to do everything in your power to keep it out of the judges hands." His hands openly pointing towards the judges rather casually. Dee gave Erick a slight smirk as he mentioned their "first date" during the Sochi games. At this point in the Sochi games, we were past the snowmobile/luge course chase, we were even past uncovering a Cold War Era Soviet mentalist and enhanced thug. We had moved on to relaxing in a hot tube. While Natasha was aware her parents shared a mental link and could often tell when they were using it, today she was too enthralled with the horses that had moved out onto the grounds for the start of the competition to notice. "Oooh, look at the pretty black one!" Natasha stated, pointing towards one of the horses. Dee chucked aloud at Erick's comment about leaving decisions to a judge. "Well, that is what you get for having participated in a subjective sport like Gymnastics," she said with a half-smile. "Plenty of other sports with an objective standard, such as a clock." Oh darn my memory seems to be failing me. We may have to go down a walk through memory lane to remind me in vivid detail. When we're not on a family vacation that is. Obediently moving his head in the direction Natasha pointed Erick looked at the ebony colored horse. "Ooh that is a pretty one." In the sort of tone a father gives when supporting their daughter's excitement. Of course with the signs of her high intellectual potential, he knew not to lean to far into placating. "Hmmm a sport with clocks." Erick pretended to contemplate the possibility that Dee had teased. While he took a wide look around. "Naaah. I was meant to fly in front of an audience. I love a good spectacle too much for that. If we're honest, my dad. Err the birth dad. He picked the sport. Traveling musician, Ruska Roma performance troupe. The acrobats in the traveling theatre were close family friends. It's a whole thing." Erick wasted no time in changing the subject by pretending to have a vision. Completely with an over the top joking gasp. "Sad news, I foresee that the United Kingdom isn't even going to place in the top five." Well….I imagine Natasha will be crashing pretty hard tonight, so there should be an opportunity to revisit those memories. Dee mentally responded while keeping a straight face and looking toward the horse her daughter was pointing out as well. "That is a very majestic horse." She replied in agreement with Natasha. The Englishwoman the glanced over to her husband with a smile as he discussed his choice of a subjective sport like gymnastics. "Family upbringing aside, you are a risk taker." When Erick gave his gasp and announced his "vision" of the events, Natasha looked over at her father with a look of disappointment. "Really? Not even the top five." The young girl asked in a somewhat downcast tone. Dee looked over with a more skeptical expression. "Do not worry love, you will eventually get better at realizing when your father is just teasing and has not really had a vision." Natasha seemed relieved to hear that the UK team had an opportunity to perform well in the event as she looked back out at the field as the first horse began to run through the course. Looking forward to that stroll down memory lane, Erick thought to Dee, a playful edge to his mental voice. He then smiled warmly as Natasha's initial disappointment quickly shifted to relief. It was never too early to get them started at reading people. Whether she chose a life filled with cutthroat competitive athletes, cutthroat gangsters in alley ways or the presumably less dramatic options people with normal childhoods run into.. It was good to get the little lessons in here and there. "Your mom's right kiddo," Erick said, leaning over his daughter as she looked back out to the field. "I was just kidding. I’m sure the UK will give everyone a run for their money. Maybe we'll even see that pretty black horse take the top spot." These were the the little things. taking time out to enjoy the simple bliss of the family outing. Well simple being relative considering the location. But the meat and potatoes of it all were pure simplicity. The light-hearted teasing, the mental banter, it was all part of the rhythm they'd developed over the years when the trio was just a pair and only continued to foster further as the family had grown. "But, since mom caught on first. I guess she needs a prize." Quickly leaning further past Natasha he moved to give Dee a quick peck before the figurative starting pistol of the event got going. Dee did not mentally reply to the comment about revisiting the memories of when they first met, but did give Erick a sly grin when Natasha had turned back toward the field and gathering horses. It passed rather quickly, before she leaned in near Natasha to better look out at the horses the girl was pointing out, providing some information about the breed of each. As she talked with her daughter, Dee could not help but reflect a bit on how her life had taken such a drastic turn a decade ago at the Sochi Games. The Englishwoman had never really envisioned being a mother, now, she viewed it as a central part of who she was. When Erick gave her a quick kiss, Dee gave another smile, while Natasha giggled for a moment before turning back to the field as the first horse began its run through the course. The young girl watched the event with rapt attention, amazed at how gracefully the large animals were as they were guided through the course by their riders. Several hours later, the family made their way out of the stands to start towards the car park. Erick was carrying Natasha, whose head was resting on his shoulder, the girl sound asleep. The last semi-final rounds were still underway, but exhaustion had got the better of the young girl. Dee walked alongside them, carrying Natasha’s sunhat in one hand, using her other to brush a lock of her daughter’s hair out of the girl’s face. Told you she would crash hard. Dee told Erick over their mental connection. Though, had thought it would be when we got back to the suite. They had brought up leaving over an hour ago, as it was clear Natasha was getting tired, but the girl had insisted on staying to watch more of the horses. It was not long before they were in their SUV, Natasha still sound asleep in her car seat. The evening traffic was likely a bit heavier than normal due to the Games, but Dee gave a relaxed sigh, not letting the traffic bother her as they made their way back to their rental.
  7. Paradigm – Sabbatical Oceanus IV Outer length of the Perseus Arm, Lor Republic Space Lor time mark 2168.2 [August 4, 2024 (Terran Calendar)] Amara Val-Ren took a deep breath as she floated on her back in the warm and shallow tropical waters just off a long stretch of beach on one of the few small land masses that dotted the equator of the fourth world of the Oceanus system. As she floated, black/purpled haired Naram tried to let any tension and stress float away as she stared up into the night sky. With no population areas or orbital cities to create light pollution, the sky was filled with countless bright stars and the very visible dust cloud of the Perseus Arm as it spiraled out from the galactic core. Oceanus IV's twin moons were just ascending into the night sky, which they would cross through until the morning. Although she could not see them (even with her Delaztri enhanced vision), Amara knew that there was both a Lor cruiser and a Khanate cruiser near the closest moon. The two vessels were there for additional security in the system given the presence of Kinarr Khan, the current ruler of the Stellar Khanate, who was in the small dwelling built a short distance from the beach. In the relatively short time since Kinarr had taken over rulership of the Stellar Khanate as the new Star Khan, he had entered into a peace treaty with the Lor Republic and Collation worlds and begun opening the Khanate to trade with those worlds. This resulted in a massive shift in the political landscape of much of the sector, with Kinarr starting significant reforms within the Khanate to make in more in line with the Republic and other Coalition worlds. Needless to say, these actions had not been popular with some within the Khanate that preferred the system put in place by Kinarr’s father. This included the powerful crime syndicates that had openly operated out of the Khanate, and had been forced to take their operations underground when Star Knights and the Praetorians were extended jurisdiction into the Khanate. Of course, that meant the Praetorians had been busier than they had been in some time. To Amara, it was somewhat reminiscent of the aftermath of the Incursion, where the Praetorians when regularly assisting the Republic and many of the Collation worlds. Although Amara had been heavily involved in the expanded operations of the Praetorians, Kinarr had not abandoned his proposal of marriage, and had spent as much time with her as he could when he was on CoVic Station, or when Amara accompanied her fellow Praetorians on missions within the Khanate. But those visits were generally not the best opportunity to allow for learning more about each other. Thus, at the urging of some of her fellow Praetorians, Amara had agreed to take some time off from her full-time duties of leading the Praetorians and spend time with Kinarr. Thus, she found herself on this island on Oceanus IV with Kinarr. Amara found the young Zultasian to be rather complicated, while being raised within the aggressive and warlike culture of his people, he also had great admiration for the Lor Republic and its more open society. Kinarr truly did not seem to believe in his father’s views of conquest and ruling through strength and fear. Instead, he wanted to see the people of the Khanate have the opportunities that were available to citizens of the Republic and other Coalition worlds. The Naram was interrupted from her thoughts by the sound of Kinarr calling out, "Amara, it is almost time for the transmission from CoVic." With but a thought, she rose up into the air from the warm waters, hovering for a brief moment before slowly gliding over toward the beach and the small structure where Kinarr was standing. Although this was a vacation, Kinarr could not completely cut himself off from his advisors and what was going on within the Khanate. Similarly, Amara had daily updates on any Praetorian missions and events that might require Praetorian attention. Landing next to the tall Zultasian, Amara took the offered towel to dry herself as she made her way inside the rather rustic dwelling. Slipping on a robe, she took a seat in front of the holodisplay and activated it, a hologram of Elite appearing in front of her. "Greetings Tatiana." Amara said with a smile as her longtime friend and advisor returned the greeting and began the briefing……
  8. @Kaede Kimura @Jack In anticipation of combat starting sometime soon, if I could get some initiative rolls so we can be ready when it does
  9. Slipstream The large man gave a slight grin at Alden’ defense of the work they had been discussing. "Very well stated observations my young friend." He began. "Those are indeed redeeming qualities of this work. With time, this artist may perfect his techniques and be able to truly execute his vision, and at such time this work, along with other early works, are likely to have value as examples of early development of any eventual mastery. But even then, that value will pale to later works that fully combined both emotion and skill." The grin then faded slightly. "Now, if you will excuse me, my Avant Guard and I have transactions to complete." He stated, looking over at the nearest of the colorfully costumed henchmen, who had halted what they were doing to watch Alden’s interaction with their leader. "Leave this one alone." The large man stated, gesturing to Alden. Just then there was a sudden *WOOSH* of air, as a red and black blur zipped into the gallery, coming to a halt in an open space that had formed in the center of the room after the other patrons had moved towards the walls when the criminals had declared their intentions. Standing in the open space was a teenage girl wearing a skin-tight black body suit with red stripes and red gloves and boots and black goggles with red lenses. The teen’s long blonde hair fell back into place after the sudden stop as she focused on the large man and his henchmen near him. "Hi, is there a problem here?"
  10. Only see one minor error. For Stormchild, her Dazzle alt power would cost 24 PP, not 27.
  11. Multi-Girl and her duplicate both make the Reflex save with 22 and 23 An easily pass the fort saves with 31 and 32
  12. @MoonSimply That will hit the one Multi-Girl knocked down. It gets a 12 on its toughness save, as it was already staggered, it is out!

Yeah, messed that up on the Enhanced Con. Corrected that it is just a 24 (with the +8). Took a defense shift at a cost of toughness. Dropped a point of Improved Initiative in the Container enhanced traits and picked up another rank of Dodge Focus to make her defense +9, with a +7 toughness. Fixed the other things.
  15. Timeout The green beam of energy from Gamma Buzz slammed into the side of the flying time shade, sending it reeling through the air for a moment before it disappeared as if it had not been there. But the radioactive hero had little time to celebrate his victory when another tear in space appeared beside him and the fully cyborg time shade leapt out, slashing once more with a plasma blade that bit into Gamma's side. The cyborg then disappeared through another tear in space hovering above the ground, which closed up behind it. Over where he was standing near Mizuki and the massive reptilian Pretorian, Lawerence took a moment to scan the area around him once more before letting loose another powerful pulse of temporal energy. As with the last few waves of temporal energy, it washed harmlessly over his friends and the time shades, but slammed into the communion drones that were with the large area of the burst. The two remaining Praetorians that had been turned to communion drones were finally restored to their original state. Dozens of other drones within the burst were also returned to normal. There was now a small army of Lor, Khanate and Grue soldiers, plus numerous other alien species, that turned to engage any remaining communion drones. Meanwhile, Sever's duel with the time shade with the cybernetic arms continued. Having blocked Sever's attack, the alien stepped to one side and the lunged forward, slashing with his sword and getting past the teen's guard….
  16. Okay, Moon-Moth is kept busy by restored Praetorians, any remaining insect drones are kept busy by the restored insect creatures they were created from. Rux teleports back in to attack Gamma Buzz once again, hitting with a 25, @Supercape DC 25 toughness save for Buzz (don't forget he has 2 bruises) Timeout will release one more burst of his stunted power to transform communion drones back to their original state, getting Nat 20! on the attack roll, that is a DC 25 will save. Moon-Moth just misses, and is returned to normal Kharg also just misses, and is returned to normal So, all the Praetorians have been returned to normal. Will again say a majority of the normal drones that arrived last round are also returned to their original state. Sullek attacks Sever, hitting with a 22, @Thunder King DC 25 toughness save for Sever (he has a bruise). Will say the other Deadly Dozen time shade is busy with some Praetorians, so @Kaede Kimura Blue Bolts turn, she will finish up her device this turn!
  17. Timeout "That sounds like a good idea." Lawrence replied when Kazra suggested going back to her people’s camp where the rest of her family was. The blond teen followed along as the group started off into the jungle with the Hunter along with them. As they went, from time-to-time Lawrence tapped into his temporal powers to scan the area round them with his cosmic senses, looking for anything that seemed out of place and might represent a threat. He also took the time to taken in what sights he could as they traveled.
  18. Multi-Girl While Starshine knocked half of the red Omegadrones out of the sky, Bernadette and her duplicates were moving around on the ground, attacking the Annihilist and the remaining black armored Omegadrones. The Irish redheads were a flurry of punches and kicks. Although several duplicates attacked her, Marinet managed dodge the attacks as she backed way from the original Bernadette. Meanwhile, the duplicates managed to knock out three of the black armored Omegadrones, and another was hurt and dazed. Only one of the elite Omegadrones withstood the attacks from the redheads, taking a hit with no effect…
  19. Multi-Girl will make her area attack on Martinet and the elite Omegadrones. She gets a 14, but will use a HP to reroll: 20, which misses Martinet, but hits the elite Omegadrones. DC 27 toughness saves: First two (ones with 1 bruise): 27 and 12 (first makes the save, the second is unconscious) Next two (ones with 2 bruise): 11 and 21 (first is unconscious, third bruised and dazed) Last (one with 3 bruises): 11 (unconscious) @MoonSimply Carmen is up!
  20. That does hit, and he terribly fails his save, so it out!
  21. GM Torpedo Lass' attacks slammed into the side of the stone woman, causing her to stagger a step back before the collapsed to the ground unconscious, her form reverting back to normal. Meanwhile, Sever tried to circle his opponent, trying to get him off guard. But the cybernetic humanoid did not seem fooled, and when the teen launched his attack, was easily able to block it and prepare himself to counter. Over near the mysterious robed figure, the glowing energy cube that sprung up around Spaceman completely trapped the teen within, as the large alien figure moved towards the energy construct. Not far away, another humanoid alien dressed in what appeared to be a trench coat, took to the air and flew towards the center of the park. As the figure drew close, the raised one hand that crackled with electricity before shooting a bolt of lightning towards Lawrence. However, the large reptilian alien stepped in the path of the bolt, which slammed into him and caused a slight grunt, but the Praetorian seemed little the worse for wear. Back near the robed figure, another of the time shades moved forwards some, close part of the distance between where the cube of energy was now formed Spaceman. Coming to a halt, the alien sent a blast of psychic energy at Paradigm. The Praetorian leader seemed to tense slightly at the psychic attack, but otherwise did not seem affected. Then a blur of yellow zipped over near the psychic time shade, as Velocity sped by, trying to land a supersonic punch. *CRACK* But the speedsters timing was off, and she missed with the attack, as she sped away and looped back over near the center of the park.
  22. Okay, another time shade (Amikai) will fly over and shot a lightning bolt at Lawrence, but the large lizard Praetorian will interpose. Amikai hits with a 20. DC 27 toughness save: Serek just misses with a 26 and takes a bruise. Another time shade (Pheydyn) will move forward and send a mental blast at Paradigm, DC 25 will save. She makes it with a 26. This brings up: Round Six 38 Velocity (unharmed) 32 Gamma Buzz 5 HP (injured, bruised x2, dazed, prone) 30 Moon-Moth Drone (unharmed) 25 Insect Drones (several in area around park) 24 Rux (unharmed) 24 Timeout 4 HP (unharmed) 21 Sullek (unharmed) 21 Blue Bolt 3 HP (unharmed) 20 Varlis (unharmed) 20 X’madi (unharmed) 20 Golden Star 3 HP (injured, bruised, fatigued) 20 Spaceman 1 HP (injured, bruised) 18 Zadvian (unharmed) 17 Paradigm (unharmed) 17 Torpedo Lass II 5 HP (unharmed) 15 Drones (many: 5 are within 30’ of Timeout/TL2/Sever; 26 are within 250’ of Timeout/TL2/Sever); other groups further out in area ) 14 Cor (unharmed) 14 Seresk (bruised) 13 Needle Fighters (many) 13 Large Alien Drones (6 (2 currently near Gamma Buzz)) 10 Sever 4 HP (injured, bruised) 7 Amikai (unharmed) 5 Pheydyn (unharmed) Velocity will try a move by action on the Pheydyn time shade, but misses with a 14. @Supercape Gamma is up, but is dazed. Do you want to spend a HP to remove that?
  23. Multi-Girl Bernadette glanced over to Vik with a smile as she settled back next to Charlie on one of the sofas. "Multiplicity. We have a couple more local shows in the next couple months, but come the summer, we will be touring parts of the country and have some shows in Europe. Of course, your more than welcome to come along for one of those if you want." As the movie selection was made and the film began, the redhead settled in up close to Charlie. The Irish teen spent almost as much time watching her teammates and friends' reactions to the film as the film itself, a faint smile on her face at seeing everyone seem to enjoy having a few moments of normalcy.

She has a lean, tone body with plenty of curves. She tends to dress rather conservatively, opting for stylish clothes that are not flashy or very reveling. Like her mother, Lynn has bright blue eyes that seem almost to burst with energy. As Slipstream, Lynn wears a black and red morphic molecule bodysuit with a red belt with several pouches. She also wears a pair of high-tech goggles similar to the ones worn by Velocity, but black in color (and with red lenses). History: Earth-A-45(extinct) was an alternate timeline that was very similar to Prime. While there were some differences in the timeline, for the most part the major trajectory of events was the same as Prime. As in Prime, Megan Howell of Earth-A-45(extinct) was exposed to an unexpected mixture of chemicals during a field trip to Astro Labs during her Sophomore year in high school and gained superpowers and began operating as Velocity. Much of her career as Velocity matched that of the Velocity on Prime, until the formation of the Interceptors. While Prime Velocity left the team after a short while, Earth-A-45(extinct) Velocity remained active on the team up until the events of Archevil. During those events, two of the Interceptors, Grimalkin and Colt, sacrificed themselves to save the other members of the team. It was after those events that Velocity left the Interceptors, and, as on Prime, went overseas to spend a year studying at Cambridge. As was the case on Prime, Earth-A-45(extinct) Megan again met Robert Harrow at Cambridge, and the two began dating. However, this version of Robert came into possession of the Stopwatch at this time. As a result of circumstances unknown to Lynn, Robert Harrow died within a few months of obtaining the Stopwatch. Megan left Cambridge early, returning to the States pregnant with Robert's child. Lawrence Harrow was born in 2012, as Megan was continuing to finish her economics degree at Yale. As on Prime, Earth-A-45(extinct) Megan moved back to Freedom City in December 2012 to begin an internship at Summit Financial at the start of 2013. She also met, and began to date Kyle Conners, a freelance reporter for the Freedom Ledger. A few months after they began dating that Kyle learned Megan was Velocity, and she learned he was the hero Siphon, and they married not long after, with Kyle adopting Lawrence. Lynn was born in June 2014, named after her mother's close friend Lynn Epstein (Grimalkin), who had sacrificed herself to save Megan and the other Interceptors. Lynn was born less than a month before Beth Walton-Wright (Lady Liberty) gave birth to twin daughters, Madison and Mary (just as she did in Prime). Given this closeness in age, Lynn grew up being best friends with the twins. With her mother continuing to work in the financial industry (unlike Prime Megan Howell), Lynn lived primarily in the Wading Way or other nearby parts of downtown Freedom City in a few different apartments and penthouses owned by her parents. At a rather young age, it became apparent that Lynn had inherited not only her mother's super speed powers, but her father's power mimic and energy draining abilities. Lawrence meanwhile, demonstrated the ability to control time. While Lynn inherited her mother's looks, she tended to be more reserved and overall kept her appearance more understated. While she also had clear athletic ability from both her parents (her father having been a high school and college football star), Lynn never really took to athletics, although she did continue with gymnastic lessons for a while. Instead, from a fairly young age, she focused on music and started playing violin before she was ten. A few months before Lynn’s sixteenth birthday, Lawrence (who was eighteen) was experiencing extreme, and sometimes painful, power spikes. Concerned, Lynn's mother took Lawrence to the Goodman Building so the Atoms could run some scans and other tests. Lynn accompanied them on the trip, and was thus present when her half-brother began to merge with Collapse, becoming a human shaped tear in the time-space continuum. The Atoms and Velocity proved unable to contain the emergent Collapse, as time and space around him began to unravel. In the chaos, and at the urging of her mother, Lynn used her powers to reach out and copy her brother’s dimensional/time travel abilities to escape. But being unfamiliar with those abilities, the fifteen-year-old was unable to fully travel to Prime, instead getting trapped in a part of Z-Space, halfway between her dying timeline and Prime. This caused anomalies in Atomic Tower in Prime, which were investigated by members of the Atoms Academy, leading them to Z-Space in search of the source. Meanwhile, aspects of Collapse had pursued Lynn into Z-Space, seeking to draw her back to Earth-A-45(extinct) to be destroyed along with the rest of her timeline. The members of the Atoms Academy intervened, managing to help Lynn escape the aspects of Collapse and brought her back to Prime. Upon learning Lynn's story, the Atoms Academy reached out to Velocity, who came to meet Lynn. Horrified at hearing the teen’s story, Megan Howell-Harrow quickly got herself named Lynn’s legal guardian, along with her husband in Prime, Robert Harrow, while they began the process to adopt her. In the meantime, they have been trying to help Lynn acclimate to being in a familiar, but at times very different timeline, which has included getting her extensive counseling to help her deal with the trauma of what she had experienced and the knowledge that everyone she knew and loved in Earth-A-45(extinct) was gone. Personality & Motivation: Lynn had always been rather reserved, although she could be quite warm and caring with those she was particularly close with. While well-mannered and able to carry on conversations in social settings, she was never the social butterfly/life of the party like her mother. Since the terrible events that led to her coming to Prime and the destruction of her timeline, Lynn has become even more withdrawn and quiet as she both tries to process the trauma and adjust to living in a place that is both so familiar and so different at the same time. Even while she was still back in her original timeline, Lynn was becoming more cognizant of the complicated legacies before her. Not only was she the daughter of a member of the Freedom League, with powers clearly identical to her mother’s, but she also had her father’s powers and the knowledge she was named after a heroine who had sacrificed herself to save not only Lynn's mother and other members of the Interceptors, but countless civilians as well. None of this has been made any easier by her arrival in Prime, where she is still likely to be equated to Prime’s version of her mother (given their identical powers and general appearance), but also an increasing sense of responsibility to do something to honor the memory of her mother, father and everyone else she lost in the destruction of her timeline. Powers & Tactics: Like her mother (and Prime Velocity), Lynn's primary power is speed, begin able to break the sound barrier running, deliver supersonic punches and even generate localized sonic booms that can be rather destructive. However, Lynn also has her father's powers, allowing her to copy others' powers and even temporarily suppress those powers, as well as being able to drain others' physical and mental characteristics (and able to temporarily boost her own should she choose to). Complications: That isn't how it happened: Lynn comes from a timeline that was very similar to Prime, but there are differences (large and small). The GM can give Lynn a HP and rule she auto fails a Knowledge/Gather Information check representing her recalling someone/something from her timeline, but what she recalls is not the same as on Prime. Days of future past: When Lynn left her timeline, it was about five and a half years ahead of Prime. The GM can give Lynn a HP and rule that she gets confused remembering something that either has not happened yet, or may never happen in Prime. It gets better with time: Lynn is still processing what happened with her brother and the destruction of her timeline (and deaths of her family and friends). The GM can give Lynn a HP and rule that some threat she encounters triggers memories of the destruction of her timeline, making Lynn Shaken for the encounter until she makes a DC 20 Will save. Complicated Legacy: Lynn inherited her mother's powers, and while Prime Velocity is not technically Lynn's biological mother, the similarity still holds true such that many (both ally and enemy) could equate Lynn with the Freedom League speedster, influencing their reactions/expectations. The GM can give Lynn a HP when these reactions make things more complicated for her.
