NPC/Slipstream Lynn seemed to tense again when Alden mentioned someone having to do something about the appearance of possible criminals. But then the suspicion the blonde teen had was fully confirmed as the large man in tights appeared, making it clear he and his goons intended to rob those present. But before Lynn could say anything else, Alden moved forward to approach the large man, calling out a challenge. This direct approach drew the attention of everyone in the room to the teen, and Lynn did not waste the opportunity. In the blink of an eye, she became a blur and was then moving faster than the eye could see. When Jack turned to look to where Lynn had been, he did not see her. As she zipped through the outer perimeter of the crowd, moving too fast to see, Lynn passed near to Jack. As she did, she quietly stated "If you are going to intervene, do not do so as yourself." She then continued out of the crowded areas of the gallery, passing through a closed door as she looked for a place to quickly change so she could go back to the confrontation in costume. Meanwhile, as Alden spoke out, the large man turned to regard the teen, studying him closely. A couple of the men in the colorful costumes started to move forward, raising the electrified batons in their hands, but the large man raised his hand to signal them to stop. As Alden spoke, an amused smile came to the large man’s face. "So eloquently spoken young man. I would be happy to discuss some of the works on display in this establishment. Taken this piece for instance…" He replied, as he moved over toward a nearby painting, several people moving out of the way as he approached.

NPC/Lynn Lynn had been about to respond to Alden’s comment about the rain where he was from when the teen pointed out the oddly dressed men that had moved into the room. The blonde teen seemed to tense slightly as she considered the men. "It could be for some sort of performance." She replied to Alden, looking about for other similarly dressed men and making eye contact with Jack a short distance away. "They could also be involved in something more sinister." She then added a bit more quietly. The teen seemed a bit uncertain about how to proceed, possibly not wanting to jump to conclusions, but prepared for the possibility if criminal activity. The three teens were apparently not the only ones who had noted the unusually dressed men, as several other individuals in the gallery were giving the men some strange looks. But then there was a bit of a disruption towards the entrance of the gallery, accompanied by several loud gasps as a large figure moved into view, flanked by two more of the colorfully dressed men in the black berets and sunglasses. The large figure was a man who stood about six and a half feet tall, with a powerful muscular build. He was wearing a pair of tights and boots that went up to just under his knees, but was shirtless. His darkly tanned skin has several bumps and spots scattered across his torso, arms and bald head. He had a brown goatee and mustache, but it was perhaps his eyes that stood out the most. They were completely yellow, with no visible iris or pupils. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen." The large man stated loudly, his voice carrying over any side conversations and drawing the attention of everyone within the gallery. "Such a wonderful evening of art and culture. Although, some of the offerings are somewhat questionable in being termed art." "However, there are some quality pieces, and my Avant Guard and I shall be selecting the better examples of such and helping ourselves to them." He gestured around at the colorfully dressed men, who had taken out batons that had one end arcing with electricity. "If everyone is cooperative and remains out of our way and hands over their valuables when we come by to collect, then we shall quickly be on our way."

Will say you are able to get the 8 normal Omegadrones. DC 18 Reflex save: only one manages to make it. Toughness saves (first is only DC 19, others DC 23): half of them make their saves So four are knocked out of the sky.

Okay, Timeout gets a 19 on his notice check. And a 16 on his bluff check. -
Multi-Girl Bernadette felt her heart sink slightly at the appearance of Superior himself, her body tensing with a bit of fear. But she was not about to let it paralyze her, and as the others seemed uncertain what to do (despite the appearance of a well know villain from the past), she knew she had to get them acting. "Little girl?" She asked, her Irish accent seeming a bit thicker with anger. "Better than bein' a has-been-Nazi who couldn' compete with Centurion." The redhead then leapt forward towards the greatest grouping of Superior’s followers (trying to position herself to catch all of them present if possible). As she landed, nearly two dozen duplicates popped into existence, quickly moving outward in all directions. As they went, the duplicates launched punches and kicks at the various soldiers. As the original Bernadette leapt into action, her initial duplicate glanced over towards Dr. Macedon. "You should probably stay under cover. An' be prepare ta run if things start goin' really badly." The redhead duplicate them ran forward, moving next to the original Bernadette and preparing to attack Superior if he moved towards the Irish teen.

Okay, Bernadette will try to catch as many of the minion soldier in her area effect as she can and take 10 to hit time (for an 18). Let me know if that misses and she will accurate attack, otherwise, DC 27 toughness save for all those caught in the area. She will exclude Superior (as she could not take 10 if she tried to attack him) and any friendlies in the area.

@Thunder King Sever is up! He has the time shade of an alien with cybernetic arms and a sword facing off with him after missing at attack against him!
-
@The Sailor Okay, as mentioned in chat, that great his and the autofire pushes you up to +10 damage, but she has a 1/2 immunity to non-lethal damage, dropping that to 5 (just enough to tie her Impervious, requiring her to make toughness save) DC 20 toughness save: She just misses with a 18! So she is out! (go ahead and post )

GM As some of teens' new allies go into action, more of the time shades began to act. First, an eight-foot-tall hairless humanoid with a wiry frame and light grey flesh (that seemed even more faded than the others), moved forward, a large club of some sort of glowing yellow energy appearing in its hands. Moving toward Spaceman, it raised on hand as walls of the same glowing yellow energy began to form around the teen, trying to trap him. Meanwhile a short squat humanoid moved over towards where Rot was flying in the air, sending a blast of energy up at the teen that struck her, but did not seem to harm her. The teen returned the attack, the short humanoid just dodging aside. A female time shade, who looked almost human suddenly was covered in rocky plates as she took several running steps forward and leapt into the air, easily covering the distance between her and the area near Lawrence and the others. Landing hard on the ground, her feet sunk into the ground a fair distance, as she pulled herself free, focusing on Lawrence. As she did so, the large reptilian Praetorian stepped forward, swinging his ten foot long tail that ended in a spiked ball at the female opponent. However, she brought up one rocky arm and deflected the attack harmlessly away and took a couple more steps forward…

Multi-Girl Bernadette did not look away Maestro as he spoke about Michael (not needing to as some of her duplicates could see where Maestro was looking as he made his comments about the other teen. "I'm not so shoor you should underestimate Golden Star. We don' need ta stop you, just keep you busy long enough for some of the Freedom League to arrive." The redhead replied. When he mentioned how he could prove that the device he was seeking was his property, a couple of the Irish teen's duplicates took a close look at the equipment that band members had been using. "Well, they may all have similar design, but not shoor that proves that the other device you are after is your property." Bernadette began. "Fer all I know, you could have stolen these other instruments. An' even if you did not, you said this other device was left here by you, how do I know it was not developed on behalf o' the university?" "So, we are still at somethin' o' an' impasse. I can' take what you say at face value an' I'm not goin' ta help you potentially steal anythin', even if it helps prevent some property damage.”

What I Did This Summer - July / August Vignette
Thevshi replied to Thevshi's topic in Freedom City Stories
Velocity/Slipstream – Virtuoso Beaudrie Opera House Theater District, Freedom City, New Jersey Monday August 5, 2024 Megan Howell-Harrow was seated in the main section of the Beaudrie Opera House. The large theater was empty save for Megan and a couple of other individuals who were seated next to her. "Thank you again for being willing to give Lynn a chance to play for you to see if there might be a place for her in the program." The blonde woman stated to the two men seated near her as Lynn Conners, the displaced teenage from another timeline, walked out onto the empty stage. "How could we say no." Replied Fredrick Vanderhoff, the chairman of the board of trustees for the Freedom Youth Philharmonic. "You and your family have been extremely generous with your donations for decades, in addition to supporting the arts throughout the city." The older man looked toward the teenager girl as she reached the center of the stage. "Although, I must say Megan, I am rather curious. This young lady is the very image of you as a teenager. Is there some relation?" Megan did not lose a beat, having anticipated this question. She had decided, that telling the truth was probably the best approach, just with some omissions. "Well, this is Freedom City, capes are not the only ones that can get caught up in the unusual. She is my daughter, from another timeline. Based on information from the Atoms Family and others, it is unlike she will ever be able to return home, so Robert and I have taken her in and are trying to provide her as much normalcy as we can, given the circumstances." "Ah," Vanderhoff replied as a sympathetic look crossed his face as he watched the teen. "I am sure that can be a challenge, but I know you and your husband will do all you can." The figure sitting on the other side of Vanderhoff remained silent, studying Lynn as she prepared to start playing. Howard Walters was the lead conductor for the youth orchestra, and likely the final say as to whether or not there would be a spot for the teen girl. Up on stage, Lynn stopped a short distance from the front of the stage, perfectly centered in front of the three figures seated in the otherwise empty theater. The blonde teenager was dressed in a button up collared white blouse and plaid skirt. Setting a music stand down in front of her, she set out the sheet music for the first piece she intended to play. Putting the violin that had recently been purchased for her by this timelines version of her mother up between her shoulder and chin, Lynn glanced out at the three figures seated before her before focusing back on the sheet music. Taking a deep breath, the time displaced teen began playing Hans Millies’ Concertino in Mozart Style, 2nd Movement. As she began playing, Lynn focused on the notes on the sheet and keeping herself focused on the proper tempo. The piece was generally a slower tempo, with smooth transitions, and she let herself get into causal rhythm. After finishing that first piece, Lynn turned the page of sheet music to the second piece she had selected. Getting herself set once more, she then began Vivaldi's Spring I. Allegro. This piece had much more variations in tempo, something Lynn enjoyed, as having to move appropriately between the different tempos helped her focus on remaining at normal speed as she played. As she finished the last note, Lynn lowered her bow and violin, looking up towards the three figures seated in the theater. Vanderhoff began clapping with genuine enthusiasm. "Magnificent. Very well done." He stated loud enough for Lynn to hear. Megan was clapping as well, smiling at the blonde teen. Walters had been quiet, studying the blonde violinist for a few moments before he started clapping as well, although with much more restraint than Vanderhoff or Megan. Standing up, he spoke up loud enough that his voice carried up to the stage. "Very well-done indeed young lady. You certainly have a natural talent. I believe there is a place for you with the orchestra and we will be able help you on your way to reaching your full potential." Up on stage, Lynn softly let out a sigh of relief. Although she had qualified for a spot on the orchestra back in her own timeline, since her arrival in this timeline, she had begun to learn that in addition to more significant differences between the timelines, there were countless subtle deviations between the two. And then there was the fact they had been asking for her to be considered outside the standard recruitment tryouts, she might not have stood out enough to be considered outside the normal process. "Congratulations Ms. Conners." Vanderhoff added as he stood as well. He then looked over to Megan with a small smile. "Megan, I believe I can leave you and Howard to work out the details. Always a pleasure to see you." With a small nod to the lead conductor, he then made his way out of the aisle and toward the exit. A short time later Megan and Lynn exited the opera house, Lynn with her violin case in one hand. "Well, that went well." Megan commented as the pair walked out into hot summer air, the blonde woman putting on her sunglasses. When Lynn stopped, Megan halted as well, turning to be sure everything was alright with the teen. No sooner had she done so than the teen wrapped her into a hug. "Thank you." Lynn said through light tears of happiness. "Of course, dear." Megan replied as she returned the hug. "But to be honest, I just got you in the door, everything after that was all you." Stepping back again and using her free hand to wipe away the tears, Lynn gave Megan a faint smile. "Maybe, but I do apricate all you and Robert have done for me since I arrived here." Megan gave the teen a sympathetic smile. "We can never replace all that you have lost, nor do we expect to. But we can at least provide opportunities for you to gain new memories and friendships that you will hopefully cherish as much as what you had in your original timeline." "But, enough of that, you just played two fantastic pieces and got a spot on the prestigious Freedom Youth Philharmonic. I say it is time to celebrate." Megan then said with a wide smile as she turned back down the sidewalk and looped one arm around Lynn's free arm as she started to lead the teen back towards where they had parked. -
Paradigm Star Khan glanced at Predator's extended hand a moment and then looked over toward Paradigm, who gave him a small nod. Turning back to Predator, he took the offered hand, giving her a smile as he did so. "I appreciate the offer friend Predator. I also hope we are able to meet again." Paradigm then shook Predator's hand, appearing to have more practice in the Earth custom. "I also hope our next meeting will be under more peaceful circumstances." She then gave a small smile at Predator's comment about the two teen heroes not seeming to object to the rowdiness, glancing that way briefly as well. "I can certainly recall a period where I was more headstrong and quick to action after gaining my powers." Then the Praetorian's communicator lit up as a response was received to her earlier transmission. The Naram looked up towards the other heroes. "It sounds like things are under control up there as well. Shall we make our way up to the Lighthouse?"

Multi-Girl Bernadette had followed along with Stormcrow as he moved to address the others and offering those that wanted to a chance to clear out before the police arrived. Several of the redhead’s duplicates were helping the various AEGIS agents at the scene as she took up a spot next to Charlie and gave him a small smile. "I'm not goin' anywhere till after we speak to the police." Her smile widened as Vik built up some confidence and indicated she intended to wait for the police as well. The Irish teen could understand why Murnie (and possibly Luke) might not want to wait, but it was not as if they needed all of them to intact with the police all the time. In short order, those that had wanted to had cleared out, while some stayed with Stormcrow. It was not long before several police and AEGIS vehicles pulled up to the scene, with a couple of news vans following after….

Paradigm As Wayfinder ordered a surrender of the vessel, the crew (mainly held in check by fear of Sovereign) ceased fighting and lay down their weapons. The renegade Khanate forces that had joined Sovering to oppose Kinarr khan were less willing to surrender, and the former key lieutenants to Kinan Khan managed to slip away in the chaos, taking a shuttle craft from n auxiliary docking bay and fleeing the system. A short time later, the Praetorians, members of the Freedom League and the several other heroes that had assisted in the battles against Sovereign and his forces were gathered on the bridge of the Lighthouse. On the large viewscreen could be seen Sovereign’s cruiser, now flanked by two Lor cruisers. A dozen Star Knights were also present to assist in taking the vessel and its crew into custody and returning them all (along with Sovereign) to the Republic. During the battle against Sovereign’s forces, additional information had come in indicating that the new Star Khan had also assisted the Young Guardians in stopping the supervillains that had been attempting to break Mindfire out of custody and attacked several AEGIS agents in the process. Paradigm stepped forward to look at the gathered group of heroes. Standing near the Praetorians was the Kinarr Khan and Justicar Vor'an. Although the latter had been injured during the battle aboard Sovereign’s cruiser, he had remained at Star Khan's side once he had returned from the surface. "On behalf of the Lor Republic and Coalition Council, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Freedom League and all the others who joined us today in capturing Prince Dovox and many of his followers. Since the dark days of the Incursion, I have always appreciated the opportunity to work with the heroes of this world. In addition to assisting in the capture of one who has long stood as a threat to the stability and prosperity of the Coalition, we have also insured that the peace treaty offered by the Stellar Khanate will have the opportunity to move forward, rather than failing before it even began." "It cannot be understated how significant and far reaching this peace will before much of this quadrant. When finalized, and if all sides truly commit to it, I expect it will bring benefits to all involved that will be felt for generations to come." The purple haired Naram looked over toward Kinarr as she finished. "In addition to offering my thanks for all your assistance, I would also like to offer my apologies," the young Zultasian began as he stepped forward next to Paradigm. "To the Freedom League and other gathered heroes of Earth, I am sorry for any concern, inconvenience or other disruption my arrival has caused to you and your world. I appreciate having the opportunity to visit your world and stand beside some of you against Dovox. I hope that if we meet again, it will be under more pleasant circumstances." "Kinarr and I appreciate the offer to set us up for a…. 'dinner date' at the 'Starlight Room.' However, I am afraid we will need to…I believe the phrase is, 'take a rain check.' I understand that the negotiations of the peace agreement between the Khanate and the Republic and Coalition worlds has been progressing, but Kinarr is needed back at CoVic station to help finalize and approve the final agreement." She looked over towards Kinarr briefly before focusing on those gathered once more. "Again, I thank your assistance today and look forward to seeing all of you again under more peaceful circumstances."

Timeout Lawrence opened himself to his cosmic senses, his eyes glowing blue as cosmic energy seeped from them. Carefully studying the area around the group, the blond teen he sensed something that seemed to tap into temporal energy located higher up on the oil rig. Closing his senses off again, the cosmic energy dissipating, he glanced over towards the others. "There is some sort of temporal effect high up on the oil rig, possibly the very top." "Iris, you up for heading up there see what it might be?" He asked as he prepared to move himself through time and space towards the upper levels of the derelict rig. -
GM Laar looked over towards Eclipse as she spoke up about the potential benefit for Thuarus if it made connections with the Coalition. "That is very true Captain. With Gor'an now in custody, perhaps a delegation traveling to CoVic Station is in order." He then turned back towards the young Kinarr Khan. "I thank you again Star Khan for your assistance, if the Republic does formalize a peace agreement with the Stellar Khanate, I expect that will go a long way to making independent worlds such as Thuarus more willing to enter into similar agreements." The young Khan gave a nod to the Lor ambassador. "I know it is not easy to move past decacycles of oppression by my father. I hope with time I can earn the trust of those that were once forcefully brought into the Khanate." He then turned toward Eclipse and Rock, giving them a nod as well. "As things appear under control here now, I will be on my way. There is still much to do." With that, the young Star Khan activated his armor's flight systems and took off into the air once more, quickly climbing until he was soon out of sight.

GM Neko's giant skeleton fell backward to the ground before it faded away after the last attack on it. Meanwhile, Iris psychic blast caused the black armored Omegadrone to stagger backward as it appeared injured and dazed once more. Meanwhile, the tall female Annihilist shook off her daze as with a quick movement was back up on her feet, drawing her sword up behind her as her eyes locked onto Bernadette. Snarling, the Annihilist rushed forward, swinging her sword towards the Irish redhead. The hulking form of Bruiser moved in front of Bernadette again, ready to take the attack once more. The sudden appearance of the massive figure seemed to throw off the Annihilist as her sword glanced harmlessly off Bruiser's side and completely missed its intended target.
