GM "Fight them?" Phalen asked, pausing a moment as if he seemed he was in thought. "Phalen tried to fight them, the Red Devils almost captured and killed him. He could just barely escape, flying away until he crashed in the burning sands and found his caves." "If Phalen fights Red Devils again the outcome would be the same, they might capture him this time." Phalen shook his head. "Better to hide in his caves. Phalen is safe in his caves. If Red Devils come to the caves, Phalen find new place to hide."

GM Vannox did not appear fazed by Giirok's brash declarations, remaining on guard as he started to slowly circle the massive Andromedan. The crowds were cheering, anticipating the next moves by both combatants. "It will take more than words to accomplish your boast!" Vannox snarled back, bellowing it loudly enough for the crowd to hear. As he yelled, the Boran stepped forward, jabbing with his glaive at his foe. This time the attack got past Girrok's guard, but was deflected away by the thick chitin armor that covered the Andromedan general. Even as his strike was deflected, Vannox stepped back, bringing his glaive back into position to guard against Girrok's next attack…

Okay, Vannox will make a normal attack this time, getting a 26 this time. @Sylinator that is a DC 25 toughness save for the General.

GM Dust Devil quickly flew over the wide street below and over to the sprawling outdoor mall. More people were running away in panic now, the center of the mall all but clearing out as Dust Devil heard the sound of breaking glass from somewhere just up ahead. Rounding a corner of one of the main thoroughfares of the mall, Dust Devil spotted what appeared to be the source of the disturbance. Further up ahead, the large windows of a jewelry store were smashed out, and a group of men in masks were making their way into the shop. One of the men standing outside was holding one of the Terminus weapons Dust Devil had seen his uncle transporting…

GM Though Phalen did his best not to look at Starshot, he could not get away from him, and provided something of a response to the space hunter's questions, even it was clear he did not want to respond. "Red Devils found vast amounts of rare minerals, vibrillium and tomarillium, in the mountains. But not enough Red Devils to effectively mine the minerals, so they set about enslaving local species to mine minerals for Red Devils to sell on black market." "Phalen wanted no part of Red Devils plans and tried to leave, had to fight for his life and fled to burning sands. Found his way into his caves, which are safe from Red Devils."

GM Settling down on the edge of the building, Cassidy waited and watched as the people down below went about their evening. As the night continued to grow later, the traffic below began to thin somewhat, but it was still quite busy, not unlike parts of downtown Freedom City could be until very late at night. But somehow he managed to avoid the boredom as he waited to see if the robbers using the advanced weapons might make another appearance. After all, this was not Freedom City, so they likely did not expect any superheroes to be coming after them quite yet. Then a faint sound of screams echoed over the more mundane noise of the traffic below. Scanning the area below, he focused on the outdoor shopping center across the road, as he saw people starting to run away from one area of the mall. From what he could see of the directions people were running, it appeared they were all moving away from a section toward the very center of the complex…

GM San Diego, California Friday January 4, 2019 8:22 PM local time The night air was cool, at least for San Diego. But to Cassidy Collins, it felt almost comfortable, seeing as it fifteen degrees warmer than Freedom City had been. Dressed in his costume as Dust Devil II, Cassidy was standing atop an office building about two miles inland from the coast along a La Jolla Village Dr, near where it intersected with Interstate 5. Cassidy had come to San Diego after he had seen a news report about an armed car robbery in La Jolla a few days ago. Brazen as the crime might have been, Cassidy likely would have paid it little heed (there was more than enough crime to focus on in Southside), had it not been for the report included a short video clip from a traffic camera, that had shown one of the robbers carrying a high-tech weapon, one Cassidy had seen before in the crates his Uncle Ben had taken into the Southwest. However, after deciding to investigate the appearance of at least one of those weapons, he had not quite anticipated just how spread out San Diego and the surrounding cities were. With miles of canyons filled with corporate parks, shopping centers and residential development, there was no telling where the robbers might try to strike next. Cassidy was currently at a section of University City, a few miles from the location of the last robbery. Both La Jolla Village Dr. below and the nearby interstate were busy with traffic. Across the wide road from his location was a large, open-air shopping center, Westfield UTC, filled with some high end stores. With little else to go on at the moment, he was gambling that perhaps the affluent area might be a tempting target for the robbers.

Synapse Once they had started toward the nearest town, Dee had taken the opportunity to take a nap to recover from exerting her telekinesis in staging the crash site. Once they reached town and exited the vehicle, she thanked Suri and made her way off with Replica. The Englishwoman listened to Replica's thoughts on the best strategy of getting across the border but shook her head. "He said it was four or five hours walk." She corrected. "That is a long trek in the snow, particularly in the cold at night. By the time we reach the boarder, it will be daylight, which would make crossing more difficult, even if it might be a more remote area." "In any event, there is still the problem that we would still be at least a thousand miles from Moscow once we get across the border. So we would need to get somewhere to find transportation, and two young women stumbling into some village from the wilderness is bound to attract attention." "While it might be more complicate, I believe finding a transport that is going across the boarder would work best. It gets us to the boarder the quickest and could help us continue on toward Moscow, at least till we get to St. Petersberg, the closest major city where we could catch a train. As for getting across the boarder, I think I can handle things so that it will not be a problem."

Squire Kath'lana The bright streaks of light that were stars swirled around Kath'lana as her armor continued to move at faster-than-lights speeds, following after Sri Dravo as he lead the way towards their destination. The power of the Star Stone cascaded around the young F'terrix as it provided the armor with the ability to cross vast interstellar distances in little time. Kath’lana had to remain focused not to get lost in the rhythm of that power. Just then, B'Ka's transmission echoed in her mind. "It feels invigorating." She replied almost immediately. She then continued, not wanting to seem curt, "like I am moving freely through the tree branches of a jungle, the wind on my fur as a leap from tree to tree."

Veronica has reconfigured her gadget array to Teleport 3 (Extras: Accurate; Portal (+2)) for 15 PP.

Veronica "They are not quite down in the basement, I think maybe on the main floor." Veronica replied to Kam's comment. With the other two wanting to investigate after stopping by the coat check to get Kam's equipment, Veronica started off with them as they made their way out of the exhibit halls and back down towards the main floor. As they went, she tried to keep a tab on what might be going on, but that did not improve until they had reached the coat check and Kam went to get his equipment. "They are on the move." She said suddenly, just as Kam came back out. "They are in the far stairwell, almost up to the floor where the exhibit is located!" Pulling out a bracelet with several of her small silver trinkets, Veronica quickly picked out a handful, which she removed and attached to a small chain, Liz sensing them flare with magic as they connected together to form a spell. Waving one hand in front of her once done, a mystical rift formed in the air, expanding out to a five-foot by five-foot portal. "This will take us up into the main hallway, between the stairwell they are on and the exhibit."

GM Phalen tried to slink away from Starshot as the space hunter pressed him with questions, but there was nowhere to go. Still not looking at Starshot, Phalen shook his head as he muttered something of a response. "Red Devils are in the mountains, the forest, space, everywhere. But they do not go into my caves." "Red Devils only care about workers for their mines in the mountains. They do not try to explore or search my caves." He then added. "Phalen want nothing more to do with Red Devils. Just wants peace of my caves."

Joint United Nations and Danger International Refugee Relief Camp Just south of the Burundi/Tanzania border along the shore of Lake Tanganyika Tanzania, Africa December 25, 2018; 6:40 PM local time Veronica Danger was seated in camp chair outside the pair of refurbished Ecopod cargo containers that served as her family's quarters at the relief camp. The sound of Post Malone and Swae Lee's Sunflower came through her headphones from her iPhone as she looked up from the sketch she had been working on in the leather bound journal in her lap. The subject of teenage Danger's sketch was slowly fading in front of her, as the sun set over the Congo across Lake Tanganyika from where Veronica sat. In her young life, Veronica had seen hundreds of amazing sunsets from various exotic locals, and now she had the memory of yet another to add. This was hardly Veronica's first trip to Tanzania, with her having first visited to join in a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, returning a year or so later to visit Lake Victoria and then a third time to travel through the Serengeti. But this was her first time along the shore of Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania's western border and the world's longest freshwater lake. This trip however was not as nearly as exciting as the three prior, however it was one of far greater importance. Tens of thousands of refugees displaced by unrest in Burundi were living in camps just inside the borders of Tanzania and other countries. The morning that her winter break had begun at Claremont, Veronica had aboard a DI relief plane from Freedom City, bringing medical supplies and personnel as well as food to the region as part of the ongoing UN and DI efforts to address the crisis. Since Veronica had arrived at the refugee relief camp she had been almost constantly on the go, working at several medical stations providing vaccinations and basic first aid for any injuries as well as helping distribute food to the various refugee camps. Though today had been Christmas, it had been no less busy for the teenager, as she again spent a morning at a medical station before again helping to distribute food throughout the afternoon. While the work had been rather routine, the mood at the various refugee camps had been very different. Christmas was an important holiday in Burundi, one that was celebrated all day long. In each of the camps, large spaces had been cleared for the people to gather to dance and sing. Veronica had taken a number of pictures of these celebrations, from which she would chose a couple to add to her journal in addition to her various sketches. The teenage Danger was glad she and Janus had found a few other students that were as dedicated to fixed and intense exercise regimes as they were, otherwise she might been feeling these long days more than she did. The rather sedentary life at Claremont had been something of an adjustment for Veronica, luckily there were excellent facilities for exercising, challenging classes and interesting classmates to help prevent the school from being completely dull. Just as she was pulling herself out of her thoughts of school, her father came up to take a chair next to hers. "Hey Ronnie, you okay?" Veronica gave her father a smile as she gave a small nod. "Yes dad, I am fine. Was just lost in thought a bit." She then held up her journal for him to see her sketch of the sunset. "Was just finishing up a sketch." Rex Danger II smiled as he looked at the sketch and then back at his daughter. "You keep this up, you will need an entire library to store your journals by the time you are my age." Veronica chuckled slightly as she set her journal back in her lap. "That would be a nice problem to have." The teen paused a moment, and then added, "though, I sometimes wonder if there will come a time where I no longer have anything to add to a journal." This time it was the elder Danger's turn to chuckle. "Not likely." He replied. "Besides Ronnie, you’re a Danger. Even if you somehow ran out of new destinations here, you would find a way to new discoveries and adventures. I mean, right now, how many people do you know from how many different dimensions?" Veronica could not help but laugh again as her father made his point. "Quite a few." She admitted. Her father smiled. "Anyway, you still have a long time before you need to worry about dimension hopping. Right now it is time for staff coordination meeting combined with Christmas dinner down at the main tent." Veronica nodded as she closed her journal, slipping it into a well-worn backpack that she slung over a shoulder as she got to her feet and started off with her father.

Tsunami Before they had left the club, Giang had quickly changed into the morphic molecules costume she wore as Tsunami, a skin-tight bodysuit of several shades of blue in a patter that seemed to almost to flow and shimmer like water. A dark blue domino mask covered her upper face, completing the costume. The young Asian woman was quiet during the drive to the docks. Once there, she joined the others in studying the building, noting the security measures that were now in place. As Detective Wu indicated he would not be interfering if they went to investigate the warehouse, Tsunami looked over towards the others. "Well, shall we see if we can avoid the security to get a look at what might be inside?"

GM With all the activity of late, Starshot had not paid much heed to Phalen, whom either one of his crew or one of the Kurabanda kept an eye on as they had dragged him along with them through the forest, desert and during the assault on pirate outpost. Phalen was still mostly withdrawn, muttering at times to himself, but he no longer tried to attack anyone or run away if left unattended. Kneeling down next to the outcast, Starshot was not able to get him to look him in the eye, but Phalen did mutter something that was more understandable than most of his ravings. "Phalen must get back to his caves. Red Devils will find him in the forest. Red Devils will hurt Phalen again if they find him.”"

Veronica A faraway look had come to Veronica's face, as she seemed to be looking down at the baseboards of one of the walls of the room. But even as she was focusing her mystical senses through the building, she still heard Kam's questions and shook her head slightly. "No, I do not believe there are any mystical practitioners on staff at the museum." She replied. After a moments pause, she spoke again, "I am having trouble pinpointing where it might have been, there must be some lead somewhere in the building between me and the lower floors. But I am able to sense that there is more than one individual that seems to possess magical abilities somewhere on a lower floor."

GM Robert, Megan and Lulu made their way up the path through the small yard and into the first floor of the townhome. They barely made it out of the entryway before Robert and Megan ran into a group of people they knew and had to stop to talk as they introduced Lulu. As the redheaded teen made a cursory scan of the minds of the building, she came across one that easily rebuffed her light contact. What's more, as she focused her mental senses, she could detect that there was some sort of mental communication taking place somewhere in the building, though she was not quite sure where, or how many might be involved.

Synapse <Ah, yes, that's right.> Dee replied, thought of course she had not forgotten at all. <Well, I plan to hold you to both of those.> The Englishwoman took a sip of her wine as she scanned the room once more. There were a number of people in attendance that she knew, either from growing up with them, university or other functions, but she generally avoided most contact with any of them. It was not necessarily that she disliked all of them, more they tended to reminder her of other things she did her best not to think about (seeing as she could not completely forget them). As Dee was looking about the room, she sensed a wave of psychic energy wash over the area, briefly touching most of the minds in the room as it went. <Hello.> She stated over the mental link with Erick once more. <The night might just have taken a more interesting turn love. Someone just made a brief mental scan of much of the building.>

Synapse Inside the townhome, another guest stood along the wall of one of the rooms on the main floor, a glass of red wine in one hand. Dee Farrington was wearing a long, sleeveless black evening gown, her normally shoulder length black hair was styled up, though she had allowed a lock of one of the orange streaks to hang free and down one side of her face. Looking around the room with the slightest trace of a frown on her face, the Englishwoman sent out a mental message to Erick Sloane, who stood a short distance from her, talking with several investment bankers. <So, how was it I let you talk me into coming to this gathering again?>

GM Chelsea, London, England Sunday, December 17, 2018 7:31 PM local time The black London taxi pulled up in front of one of the large townhomes situated along Cheyne Walk overlooking the Thames. Christmas lights adorned the metalwork atop the low stone walls that ran alongside the sidewalk, as well as several of the trees and hedges in the small yard between the outer wall and the townhome. Robert Harrow, dressed in a dark tuxedo, was the first to climb out of the taxi, turning and offering his hand to first help his wife out of the vehicle and then their foster daughter, Lulu Beaumont. Megan was dressed in a long red evening down which accented her lean figure. The older blonde woman looked at Lulu with a warm smile. "Just remember to relax and be yourself and everything will be fine." She offered as encouragement. Robert gave Lulu a reassuring smile as well as he offered Megan and arm and then started the trio toward the front of townhome. The sounds of music and many voices could be heard coming from the home.
