Veronica Danger Veronica could not help but smile at Pan's excitement about their upcoming trip into space. She certainly had similar feelings herself. "I can field a few of those questions." She replied with a small nod to Colonel Austin. Looking back to Pan, she continued, "in the atmosphere, the Pegasus can achieve about Mach 1.3, which is around a thousand miles per hour. Once we get out into space, we can use its FTL drives, and achieve much, much higher speeds." "And, yes, there are restrooms aboard the Pegasus, and no, other than our own sun, we would have to go a loooong way off course to get anywhere near any of the other stars. And I have no intention of letting that happen."

ZB, you should claim credit for that last IC post. Both it and the post before are sufficiently long to warrant credit for post counts individually. -
The below information covers just some of the various alien races that exist in the wider universe of the Freedom City PbP campaign setting: Alien Races from the Sourcebooks Humans/Humanoids As a result of the actions of the Preservers, humans and offshoots of the human genotype are among the most common "alien races" in the galaxy. As the Lor began to spread among the stars, they noted the genetic similarities between themselves and the various humanoid races they encountered. This led to the Lor adopting the term vellorvan ("Children of Lor-Van"). The Lor believed that these genetic similarities were a result of the intervention of their "Star Gods." There are those among the Lor that believe their civilization had previously ascended to the stars, leaving behind "lost colonies" of this "First Age." Others believe that the Star Gods took some of their chosen away from Lor-Van, leaving behind the bulk of the race to follow the path to the start laid out for them by the Prophets. The Lor reject Daedalus' theory that they originated from Earth. In addition to the Lor and the Zultasians, human genotype species are found inhabiting Aljor, Wynn, Xol, Karath, Giaus and dozens of other worlds. Due to the widely varying environments of some of these worlds, these humanoids can possess a wide range of phenotypes when comparted with humans from Earth, resulting in skin tones ranging from almost completely black to dusky grey and various shades of brown (tan, golden, pinkish tones) and even to pure white. The toughness and durability of their skin can vary just as much, and the hair and eye colors come in far greater variety than found on Earth. Some of the humanoid races possess extreme genetic adaptations related to the environments in which they live, either as a result of Preserver experimentation (which sometimes included splicing human genotype with native species), evolutionary adaption or other specific genetic engineering. Some examples of such adaptations are the Dotrae (which possess antennae and smooth, hairless skin) and the Ealas (humanoids possessing feathered wings and the ability to fly). There are also many humanoid species which developed independently of humanity, although sometimes they were also the subjects of Preserver "guidance." One such example are the Cholaxans, a race of furred humanoids largely responsible for the sasquatch and "bigfoot" legends on Earth. Synapse Synapse was pleased that the first vehicle that came across them had been willing to stop. As the door opened and the driver began asking his questions, the Englishwoman moved over into view, making her best impression of being cold (which was not too hard, as even with the excellent survival gear, she could still feel the cold of the night). <"Yes, we where with a ski group and got separated from the back on the other side of the mountain. We could see the highway down here so ditched our gear and made our way down here."> She replied in the same language Sari had spoken. <"I am Dee, could you give us a lift to the nearest town?">

GM Auramada listened carefully to Starshot, and then was in quite thought for a moment before looking over to his son before focusing back on the human. "Kurabanda do not look for war either." He stated in heavily accented GalStandard. "Kurabanda prefer to hunt and live in peace." "But….Kurabanda cannot ignore what demons from sky have done since arriving. Already some Kurabanda clans have been devastated, in time demons from sky may do same to all." "My clan is prepared to aid Starshot in war against demons from sky." The chief finally stated, sitting up straighter, a determined look upon his face. Beside the old chief, Ermorada had a fierce expression as he nodded in agreement with his father.

So, here is some information Sonny would know about Tsunami’s family. Her father, Kong Zi Khan appears to the world as a prominent business man, operating a number of legitimate business in Hong Kong and other parts of eastern Asia. He is also one of Dr. Sin's primary lieutenants, operating many of the criminal enterprises of Dr. Sin's organization in those same areas. He is the head of a number of regional Triads/Tongs and has a small army of "soldiers" at his disposal. Tsunami's four half-siblings have started to become more known in the Asian criminal underworld over the last few years. Each of them possesses powers representing the other four elements or phases of the Wu Xing: Earth, Metal, Wood and Fire. Each of them operates under the name for the Chinese constellations associated with each element: Qing Long (Azure Dragon, Wood); Zhu Que (Vermilion Bird, Fire); Huang Long (Yellow Dragon, Earth); and Bai Hu (White Tiger, Metal). Each is rather powerful, on par with Tsunami and a skilled melee combatant. Let me know if you need more.

GM With the beginning formalities of the match completed, the crowds quieted some, as they focused on the two combatants, anticipating the first moves in the contest. Vannox let out a heavy breath from his slit nostrils, a small cloud of mist forming in the cold air. Gripping his glaive with both hands, he moved forward at a cautious pace, moving slightly to one side as he did, waiting to see what the Andromedan's first move would be. Over a hundred meters of open space still separated the two fighters, the rocky floor of the arena covered in patches of ice and frost. It might take some time for the two combatants to close within range of each other, unless one of them did something to move forward quickly…
-
Okay, Vannox gets a 14 on his initiative, so… ROUND ONE 14 Vannox (unharmed) 8 General Giirok (unharmed, 3 HP) So for his first round action, Vannox is just going to move forward slightly while starting to circle to one side and otherwise hold any remaining action. So it is the General's turn, but Vannox is still too far away for him to close with in one round, even with his limited flight.
-
The typical etiquette is to allow each combatant to be introduced and make their greeting to the crowds. Then the contest is expected to have begun. So, both of you have had your chance to greet the crowd, so the battle has begun, though your both still quite a ways apart. Might as well get initiative in now, though you can post an IC reaction if you like, you just won't be able to reach him in a single round. We generally use Orokos as our "official" dice roller.

The OOC for this thread, as we will be needing it shortly!

GM The massive Andromedan stepped out into the cold, entering at one edge of a massive stone arena that appeared to be directly hewn out of the side of a mountain. Circular in shape, it was well over two hundred meters across, its walls rising up close to one hundred feet before the stands for the spectators began. Stone benches rouse least another hundred feet higher as they stretched out in all directions. These stands were filled with tens of thousands of beings from hundreds of worlds, all cheering at the sight of the massive warrior. As Giirok called out his challenge, the cheers continue, as the announcer spoke up once more, his voice magnified by some technological means to sound clearly over the crowds. "And he is a confident one is he not? Hopefully that confidence is not misplaced, for today he will be facing the champion of the Brii System, Vannox the Cruel!" At this announcement, two other massive metal doors along the opposite side of the arena began to open, and out of them strode an armored figure carrying a long hafted glaive. Although shorter than Giirok, Vannox still stood seven feet tall, with a powerfully built physique. The skin that was not covered by his armor was red, with a tough, leathery appearance. His head was long, with a short fin on the top, his nose short with two open slits toward the front. Long sharp teeth filled his mouth, and on either side of his jaws were long, upturned tusks almost at tall as Vannox's entire head. As the crowds above began to cheer anew, Vannox raised both arms out to his side as he glanced briefly upward, letting out a deep shout of his own. The muscular figure then lowed his arms, gripping his weapon tightly in one hand as he strode forward towards the center of the ring, where Giirok was heading as well….

Lassin Prime Outer length of the Perseus Arm, inside Khanate Space Lor time mark 1629.3 [December 5, 2018 (Terran Calendar)] Since the Andromedan General Giirok had been sold into the gladiator circuits within the Stellar Khanate, he had participated in matches on a number of planets, moving to a new one when he had reached the pinnacle of a particular circuits’ competition. He had arrived on Lassin Prime less than six standard galactic days ago after he had run out of challenges on the last world. He had thus far spent his time on Lassin Prime training and acclimating to its climate. Located toward the center of the Stellar Khanate, a large swath of the world along its equator had been cyberformed by the Communion. That portion of the world was currently being mined for the Computonium created by Communion cyberforming, and then undergoing re-terraformig to return the world to something akin to its former state. As a result, the remaining habitable areas of the world were located near each of the poles, meaning the environment was quite cold. Today was Giirok's first match in the Lassin circuit, which would serve to establish him and heavily influence the direction his time here would go. The towering Andromedan was standing in a large chamber behind two massive metal doors, the air chilled by the conditions outside. Above him Giirok could heard the thunderous applause and other sounds of the crowds, reverberating through the stone and metal of the arena. Small bared openings over a dozen feet off the floor allowed the sound of the announcers to carry into the room as Giirok stood waiting. "And now we have a special event. Two up and coming contenders that will meet each other for the first time." Said a male voice in Zulastian. "Recently hailing from the Hassan System, we have a towering insectoid known as the Andromedan Annihilator!" At his introduction, the two massive doors in front of Giirok began to slowly open, allowing more of the chilling air into the waiting chamber….

GM Ermorada gave a nod when Starshot found him amongst the celebrations that had begun once the news of their return had been spread. It was not long before Starshot, Laark and Soreen were gathered in a small hut off one of the main platforms along with Ermorada, a few other Kurabanda warriors and Chief Auramada. The old chief was seated in a chair, once again wearing his resplendent headdress made of hundreds of colored feathers. As before, he wore dozes on amulets, pendants and other pieces of jewelry over his chest. His keen eyes focused on Starshot once the cover to the hut was closed. "My son has told us that you were victorious against the demons from sky near the black water. Now he says Starshot intends to continue to make war against demons from sky in high rocks." The chief began. After a momentary pause, he then added, "what does Starshot wish of Kurabanda?"

Tsunami Giang Trang was still somewhat surprised to find herself back in Hong Kong. It had been a good six years since she had first come to the city, to be introduced to her true father for the first time after being raised in a remote Vietnamese village. She had been shocked to learn the truth about her father and extended family, and it had not taken her long to decide to escape from his compound and strike out on her own. Luckily Raven had found her before her initial luck had run out. Given her past experiences with her family and other elements of Dr. Sin's organization, the young Asian woman had made it a practice to stay out of much of the eastern half of Asia. But Mr. Murk had requested her assistance in looking into any potential fallout from Dr. Sin’s arrest. While Gang felt her presence might be something more of a hindrance than help, she had been reluctant to turn down the request, as she was well aware of the violence the Triads, Tongs and other elements of Dr. Sin's organization could bring. So, now she was in the Hong Kong branch of the Club Immortus, alongside Comrade Frost, whom Giang had once briefly met at a Christmas Party hosted by the Freedom League while she had still be at Claremont. She was not currently wearing her costume, instead opting for a more non-descript set of Western clothes that was likely to blend in with many of the younger residents of the city. Looking over at the local immortal that had been assigned to assist them, Giang then walked over near a window and looked out. "So, what is the current rumors on the street?"

Veronica Danger "No, I think I am good." Came a response from Veronica Danger to the Colonel's question. The Danger scion was dressed in a loose fitting vacuum suit, under which she wore her more typical attire. She had a pack filled with various survival gear and other equipment handy, and her necklaces of the small silver charms she carried around were tucked into one of the outer pouches of the vacuum suit. The teenage Danger was almost bursting with anticipation, as she looked up at the sleek Pegasus space plane that she had gotten access to with some help from Uncle Ace. Over the last couple of months since the incident at S.T.A.R. Labs, Veronica had gotten in several hours behind the sick of a Pegasus in preparation for this expedition to track down Blackstar. Now she was looking forward to taking the high-performance craft up into space to track down the intergalactic criminal.

@Ari before we get started, I have a question Ari. Where is Blackstar's base supposed to be located? This thread should likely be out in one of the space forums, not this one, as the majority of the story will take place in space.

Rev, SFX and Lawrence remained the guests of the Praetorians for a few more hours, with Rev getting a chance to suit up in a space suit and take a walk out into the vacuum of space outside the Praetorian's headquarters with Paradigm accompanying her. The two teenage girls were rather exhausted when Velocity eventually arrived in a Pegasus spaceplane to pick them up. The Freedom League member gave her son a big hug when she arrived, thanking Rev. SFX and the gathered Praetorians for all they did to protect him. After a brief conversation with Daedalus, Velocity guided the three youth aboard the Pegasus and they began the trip back towards Freedom City. As she guided the spacecraft toward the wormhole that would take them back to the Sol system, Velocity assured Rev and SFX that everything had been cleared with Headmistress Summers and they would not be in any trouble for missing curfew and would be excused from classes for the following day. Epilogue In another place, perhaps another time, the robed figure that had fought the Praetorians and the two Claremont students reformed, the frame within the tattered black robes hunched and slack. The faint clicking and ticking of mechanical gears could be heard in the dim lit space around the robed figure, seemingly coming from everywhere around it. "You failed to recover Harrow, without him we are still vulnerable to the power of Collapse." Spoke a hollow voice with a deep, cold tone from somewhere within the shadows around the original figure. "I was not provided enough power to overcome Harrow’s protectors. Two superpowered teenage girls and members of an organization known as the Praetorians." The dark robed figure responded weakly in its on cold, hollow voice, barely audible over the sound of the mechanical gears within the shadows. "An unexpected turn of events, but one we will have to prepare for next time." Stated the new voice. The original dark robed figure was standing still, but was moving slowly around in time with some of the clicks and ticks that echoed in the shadowy light. As the massive clockwork gear the robed figure was standing on made another turn, the figure came to face a central collection of gears and other mechanisms around which all others seemed to feed. Located at the center of this collection of gears and mechanisms was another figure dressed in similar tattered black robes, seemingly rising up out of the machine itself. "The next attempt will require a larger allocation of power. We must not stop until we have secured Harrow." The figure stated. The figure in the center of the clockwork mechanisms raised one robe covered hand toward the original figure. "For the moment, you are no longer needed." It stated, and as it made a slight gesture with its hand, the original cloaked figure faded away. The remaining figure brought both its covered hands back together in front of it as it appeared to be in thought. "We must begin collecting power for our next attempt to secure Harrow." There was a brief pause, before it spoke once more. "And, we shall investigate these Praetorians further, to determine what importance they may have in the stream of time." The figure then went silent, as around it the various gears and other mechanisms continued to slowly turn, the clicks and ticks echoing within the darkness….

GM With the Ul-Mor set to start their preparations to join in any attack on the pirates Starshot might be able to coordinate, the space hunter and his crew boarded the flier once more with the Kurabanda and the pirate prisoners. Soon the vessel was rising gracefully into the air and starting off once more over the desert sands. Again the travel that had taken several days passed easily below them as they flew out over the razor grass, spotting herds of the large creatures that moved through it as they went. Soon they were carefully moving through the massive trees of the Kurabanda forest, making their way towards the village they had visited before. The arrival of the flying vessel caused a bit of a stir among the Kurabanda, many warriors gathering along the tree limbs and edge of the village to see who might emerge from the craft as it set down. Emorda made his way cautiously out, identifying himself and letting the village know it was safe. Once it was known that the craft was not another attack by the pirates but the return of Starshot and his group, the mood of the village changed immediately, the weapons being lowered and cheers sounding out among the gathered Kurabanda as more made their way out of hiding to greet the returning war party.

Synapse Dee managed not to grumble too much during the trek through the snow covered wilderness toward the road. Part of her was wishing she had never agreed to come along to investigate this possible lead on the Sleeper and Dr. Zero, and that she was instead back home with Erik. But, she knew that she needed to do what she could to try to stop whatever plans the two old Soviet villains had in store, so she somehow managed to trudge on. Once they were down by the road, it did not take long before a vehicle came up on them. She let Replica take the lead in trying to stop the vehicle and get them a ride, waiting off to the side to assist if needed.

Okay, making a super senses check she gets a 26. -
Well Cape, I think I mentioned that it would only make sense that Tsunami's father and step-siblings would be involved, as they operate in Hong Kong and would be reluctant to lose their grip there to an outside force. They night even see this as the chance to break free from Sin's organization. I also noted the Tsunami is reluctant to go back to the Far East, particular Hong Kong, given her family's presence there and Dr. Sin's other operatives in the area. But I imagine we could figure a reason for her to head there.

Veronica Danger The portal quickly moved the three through the layers of the armor's system, binging the group toward the center of the system. The trip was a combination of exhilarating and terrifying, an experience Veronica, like most Dangers, tended to thrive on. Once she had summoned a disk for them to stand on as the approached the CPU, Veronica began more carefully studying the area around them, reaching out with her various magical systems and studying the damage to the area around them. -
Synapse Dee looked over at the burning wreckage of the plane, satisfied that all their hard work would make it very difficult for the investigators to realize the plan had not actually crashed. She then glanced over to Replica as she mentioned a village being located nearby. Scanning the map a moment, she gave a small nod. "That sounds like a plan. The sooner we get on the road to Moscow the better." The Englishwoman slung the pack full of clothes and other gear up onto her shoulders. "Best to get moving. It will be getting dark soon, and last thing we want is to be stumbling around in this cold and snow in the dark."

Megan As Megan and Lynn reached the dancefloor, it took only moments for Megan to match up her movements with the beat of the music, the process all but second nature to her. But Megan was hardly just going through the motions. No, she fully let herself feel the rhythm and beats of the music, allowing it to guide her movements, an task made rather easier by the speed with which she could process the sounds. Of course, she still had to keep herself moving at a normal speed to stay with the music, one of the reasons she enjoyed dancing, as it forced her to stay at a normal pace. She glanced over toward Lynn, smiling as she saw her friend’s enthusiasm, particularly when New Order's Confusion came on. Megan quickly adjusted her movements to the new beat of the older song, moving with practiced ease. Around the pair, several of the others on the dancefloor were starting to take notice of them.
