Megan "Thank you, it has been awhile since I have been able to wear something like this myself." Megan replied when Lynn commented on her outfit. "Evening dresses and gowns are nice and all, but it is nice to get a sleek change of pace, particularly for a night of dancing." Taking an empty seat next to her friend as she waited for her drink, a broad smile came to the blonde's face as Lynn first made light of her look and then admitted to how good she felt to be out as well. Megan was glad to see her friend seemed to be doing better, hoping it was not just a brave façade. "Well, I believe you are accomplishing your goal of strutting your stuff!" She replied. Taking a sip of her drink after the bartender delivered it, Megan glanced out towards the dark, shadowy parts of the room filled with dozens of other club goers. "So, going to be up for making our way onto the dance floor soon?"

GM There were actually three pirates being held prisoner, though the one Starshot had captured after the chase was unconscious in the infirmary still. The other two were being held in the lounge room of the makeshift base, under the watchful eyes of several of the Kurabanda and Laark (who almost seemed there to protect the pirates from the natives, rather than keep an eye on them). Given the tension in the room, Laark's imposing presence and Starshot's own fearsome presence, the two pirates were easily cowed by the space hunter. Soon they were giving him quite a bit of information about what they called "Slave City One." They told him the large outpost was typically manned by fifty or more pirates, with nearly a dozen of the combat robots like the ones that had been guarding the outposts. There was an anti-aircraft laser to protect the outpost from air attack that was always manned. When pressed about how they had managed to trick the Edestrekai into enslaving themselves, the pirates hesitated a moment, but soon were reveling that a couple of their number were Jaas, an insectoid race that Starshot knew possessed telepathic abilities to various degrees of skill and often other psychic powers as well. The pirates reveled that the Jaas were able to enter the minds of the Edestrekai priests and convince them they were receiving messages from the Edestrekai deities, instructing them to tell their people the deities desired the Edestrekai serve the pirates.

Yeah, they are not going to be able to beat that, especially with some bonuses you will get for the situation.

Synapse "For the Sleeper and Doctor Zero, Soviet Russian and communism is not dead, but something they wish to see revived. I imagine they are more than willing to revive the Cold War as part of their goals." Synapse replied to Replica’s comments on the background information provided about the two former Soviet agents. "But I am more than happy to help with your investigation. I have unfinished business with both the Sleeper and Doctor Zero. I do have familiarity with the Sleeper's psychic abilities, so I could potentially determine whether he has some hand in influencing these Russian soldiers you have dealt with."

Veronica Veronica finished entering contact information for the others and then closed her phone back into a waterproof, impact resistant case and dropped it back into one of the pockets of her cargo pants. She then turned her attention to the interior of the Doom Room when Huang opened the doors. Currently it looked rather bare and Spartan, with smooth white and grey walls and floor that had a hexagon pattern along them. "Yeah, I have heard a lot about this place." The teenage Danger stated and Huang gave a vague description of the room's capabilities. "While we do get to choose a scenario, we still have a faculty member up in the control room monitoring the session for us. Just to be sure things are going as they should." She stated as she started forward into the large room. "I was thinking something of a twist on 'capture the flag' against some simulacrums. Something to put us through some paces and learn what each of us can do."

Veronica "Yeah, I sort of started some of my sketches for the same reason. I mean, it is perfectly easy to take pictures of things, places, people, and I have plenty of them. But there is just something about drawing out something for yourself, taking the time to capture all of its intricacies and details." Veronica replied when Abigail explained how she had gotten into drawing. "Also, something about it just seems so 'traditional' to me, reminding me of some of the field journals I have seen of my grandfather and great-grandfather’s explorations." The pair reached the front of the line and placed their drink orders before moving over to wait for them to be made. When Abigail mentioned her idea for a sketchbook in the common room on their floor, Veronica brightened up slightly at the suggestion. "Too weird? Not at all, I think it could be a wonderful idea." The teenage Danger replied. "I suppose it would not be for everyone, but I imagine that plenty of people might be interested in adding something to such a book."

Megan Megan made her way into the Millennium from the entrance, striding confidently into the are containing the main bar. A small smile came to the attractive blonde's mouth as she looked out over the familiar sleek décor, which reflected the various colors of neon light in a wild patter of colors. Megan could recall one of her first trips to the club, back when she was still at North Bay Academy, having gotten tired of places such as the Midnight Hour. It had been awhile since Megan had been out to a club such as this, with family and other responsibilities taking up time. She and Robert managed to get out somewhat regularly, but usually to much more formal events than nightclubs. But she had received a call from Lynn who had jokingly activated the Velo-Light” and asked Megan to join her. Only this time instead of commiserating over double chocolate ice cream, they were going out for drinks and dancing, something Megan was more than happy to do for her old friend. Tonight the attractive blonde had chosen a black sequin bandaged mini-dress that hugged her curves almost as much as her costume as Velocity, along with a matching clutch and a pair of black heels. Paying little heed to the attention she was receiving from some of those nearby, Megan quickly scanned the room, managing to do so in a fraction of the time it would take most. Spotting Lynn over by the bar, Megan made her way over, giving her friend a smile and a hug as she arrived. "Hey Lynn!" Standing back and taking the seat next to the other woman, Megan glanced over to the bartender who had come over. "A Cosmo please." She asked, then looking back to her friend. "You look fantastic!" She said with a genuine smile, choosing to focus on other topics for now.

Synapse "Cheers Replica." Dee replied with a small nod as the other introduced herself. The Englishwoman then focused on Dr. North as he began to explain the background of what they were seeking her help with. Dee frowned slightly as she listened to Dr. North, plenty of memories coming back to her as he did. "Yes, I have some experience with Darwin-X." She replied when he finished. "I first came across it during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. I imagine you heard about the doping scandal that led to a large part of the Russian team being disqualified? Well, that was in truth a plot to see the Russian team sweep a majority of events by administering a version of Darwin-X to the athletes. The blame was placed on the head coach of the team, but he was merely a lackey of the true masterminds of the plot." "The true masterminds were both old-Soviet Cold War agents. One was Doctor Zero, a product of a Soviet-era super-soldier program based off materials captured from a WWII Nazi project. From what I understand, he was provided a 'pure' version of Darwin-X, which provided him with peak human strength, agility and endurance. He was also something of a genius, responsible for synthesizing the Darwin-X used at the Sochi games." "The other individual behind the plot is an operative known as The Sleeper. At the time we encountered him, the Sleeper was elderly, frail and bed ridden, but he was still a powerful psychic. While I can use my psychic powers to try and seize control of another’s mind and control their actions, the Sleeper had a very different way of accomplishing this. With a touch, he could plant psychic commands into the target’s mind, which would could lay dormant for years or even decades. When triggered, these commands would turn the individual into a Soviet agent, one who was not even aware of what they were doing or why. From your description of the soldiers trying to steal the Darwin-X shipment, they could have been victims of the Sleeper. Last I knew, the Sleeper was being taken into Russian custody after the plot at the Sochi games was uncovered, but I have heard little to suggest he has stayed there." "I am afraid I do not know anything about a Mother Board or Red Dawn. But, I am more than happy to provide assistance in this matter."

Megan Megan listened as Lulu generally discussed how things had been going so far over the first month of school. Overall it sounded as if things were going about as well as could be expected. The fact she was having some difficulty with some of the classes was not at all unexpected and at least it did not sound like she was completely at a loss in them, at least not yet. "Well, classes being harder is not to be unexpected." Megan replied with a small smile. "Taking the initiative to go to the teachers for help is good. Which classes are proving the most problematic so far?" She asked. "We can work to get you some tutors to help with those, that way there will be less temptation to try to peek into the heads of the smart kids. And of course, it never hurts to become friends with a couple of the smart kids as well, as they can often help if you needed it as well."

Veronica Veronica listened quietly as Selena explained her potential college plans, but also her uncertainty about what she might study. "Well, I believe a large percentage of people going into college do not know what they want to study, while a good number of others change their mind after they start." When Dio reared up next to them, Veronica started ever so slightly, her magical vision seeing through the illusion he had put up around himself. But she settled down quickly as she considered the offer he had made to Selena. "I have rarely heard of gifts such as that not coming with at least some sort of price."

GM "I am sure your floof will recover in due time my friend." Seresk replied with what passed as a smile for his reptilian features. "Rest easy my friend, I will stand guard over you." As Moon-Moth drifted off to sleep, the towering reptilian Praetorian focused back on the room around them. The council members looked amongst themselves for a moment at Cavalier’s question. Finally the elder turned back toward the Star Knight. "We greatly appreciate your aid. While we are inclined to resist this aggression on our rather newly found independence, we would like to see if communication can be established with CoVic Station so we can at least get some gauge on how long it might take for assistance to arrive." When Cavalier tried to establish his connection with Menton, he found the connection was far from perfect, being rather garbled and cutting out at times. Traveller set to work trying to help with the signal, quickly realizing that despite her prior statement, it appeared that the Khanate was employing some form of jamming system that was disrupting even Quantum entanglement signals. After a few minutes of effort, she was able to boost the signal enough that they were at least able to more clearly communicate over it, even if there was more static than there should be. After a few moments the Citadel had routed them to the Praetorian headquarters and an image of Elite materialized in the council chambers. "Cavalier, Traveller." She stated, nodding slightly toward each. "I am afraid we are a bit pressed for time at the moment here, but if this is a quick matter I can take a few moments."

GM "Well, don't forget we also have some transport now." Soreen replied with a small smile. "There are a lot of ways we can put this flyer to use, and there is the grav bike as well." She then when silent for a moment when he mentioned whatever technique the pirates were using against this new species. As she appeared in thought, she powered the flyer back down. "Yeah, we need to learn how they are manipulating these Edestekai." She looked back towards the back ramp of the flyer towards the makeshift building. "Well, the logs might not describe how they are doing that, but these pirates still might have some idea. If we can coax it out of them."

Veronica Veronica turned toward the sound of someone approaching, thought it took a little while longer than she had anticipated for the person to appear, although after a few moments of waiting, she began to have a strong suspicion of who it was. "Hi Danica, sorry to hear about your Segway. I hope they got it sorted out." The teenage Danger then nodded as Danica mentioned making sure everyone exchanged phone numbers. "Yeah, I figure we should certainly make sure we each have everyone's number." She replied, looking down at her watch. "So, it looks like we are just waiting on Tom. But I do not think we can wait too much longer before our session is supposed to begin."

Synapse "Well, do not hesitate to let me know should you require anything." VERA replied as Dr. North indicated he was fine and Replica did not speak up regarding anything. The two did not have long to wait before Synapse arrived, coming from one of the side passages. "Good morning, welcome to Haven." She said in greeting with a refined English accent. Making her way over to the pair, she offered her hand in greeting. "I am Synapse, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Dr. North." She then regarded Replica as she offered her hand again. "And I am sorry, I did not catch your name?"

Synapse Dee Farrington was sitting in the Haven's main command center when VERA informed her that there were two individuals making their way up toward the headquarters' entrance. The Englishwoman had been scanning various online news outlets and other media sources, trying to see if she could find anything that suggested what might have happened to her friend and teammate Ms. Britannia during the recent incursion from the Terminus in Freedom City. One free hand ran through her shoulder length black hair, disrupting one of the dyed orange streaks of color she had added. Letting out a small sigh as she heard Dr. North introduce himself, citing his UN credentials, Dee turned away from what she was doing as she fully zipped up the costume she wore as Synapse of Vanguard, a fully body suit of medium grey and purple. "VERA, could you please let our guests in and let them know I will meet them in the foyer." She stated as she picked up the purple domino mask she also wore and put it into place, starting towards the location she had indicated. At the front entrance, the door to the HAVEN slid quietly open as an artificial voice spoke up. "Greetings Dr. North, I am VERA, the major domo of the HAVEN. Synapse is on her way and will meet you shortly in the foyer. In the meantime, is there anything you or your companion may need?"

Tsunami Giang listened as Murk generally discussed the Codex Immortus and then began discussing the three central tenants of the Codex, beginning with the rule of not killing a fellow immortal, baring extenuating circumstances necessitating self-defense. The Asian young woman considered the reasoning provided by Murk for a moment before replying as he appeared to pause for her reply. "So, it appears that even those immortals refusing to participate in the Codus receive some general benefit from its existence, whether they know it or not." She gave a small smile, which then fade as she then added, "although I must say I find it quite disheartening to think that all immortals must inevitably commit some terrible crime. If such is truly inevitable, I have to question whether immortality is something I truly want."

GM As Jessica used her magic heal the gang leader, he snapped back to consciousness quickly, straining briefly against the solid water that formed around him before relaxing once it was evident he would not easily escape the unusual bonds. Instead, his dark eyes scanned the area, noting Tsunami and Jessica, who were the two currently in his field of vision. Those eyes narrowed as Jessica came over and pushed against his forehead with one finger. After the threats, he smirked confidently. "You will have to do better than that to get anything from me girl." He stated. Tsunami then spoke up, drawing his attention away from Jessica. "Your gang is associated with the On At-Zhang Triad. Is your kidnapping ring sanctioned by them?" The gang leader glared at the Asian young woman for a moment, seemingly studying her briefly. "If I were you, I would be more worried about what the On At-Zhang do if they manage to get ahold of you. If you are lucky, they would just sell you back to your father."

Timothy's Bistro Midtown, Freedom City, New Jersey Wednesday October 3, 2018, 5:10 PM Megan Howell-Harrow led Lulu Beaumont up to the entrance to Timothy's Bistro for their dinner reservation. Megan had arranged to schedule bi-weekly time to meet with Lulu over either coffee or for dinner. Given that Lulu was living on campus at Claremont while classes were in session, it provided a good way for Megan to check in with how Lulu was doing and see if there were things that she needed help with. It also helped to continue building a relationship with Lulu, which was going to be important for the next several years while the teenager was at Claremont. Due to Lulu focusing on getting into the rhythm of her new school and other things, tonight was actually the first chance they had for such a meeting since the start of classes. But Megan was determined to ensure that they made this time on a regular basis going forward. She had picked up Lulu from campus over half an hour ago, but they had faced rush hour traffic in getting to the well-known restaurant. "Next time we will pick someplace closer to the school, or plan for a different time to better avoid rush hour." Megan said with a smile as they made their way inside. Giving her name to the hostess, there was another brief wait as they ensured the pair’s table was ready. "So, how have things been going so far?" Megan asked with a small smile as she looked over to Lulu as they waited to be seated.

Veronica "Thank you." Veronica stated as Abigail opened up the door to the coffee shop for her, making her way inside and waiting for the other teen before they moved into the line for the counter. "Oh, of course, I would be happy to let you have a look at them." She replied as Abigail asked about looking at some of her journals. "Part of them is to have a reference for others to see when I talk about places, as opposed to truly reminding me of them." "I will probably be showing Danica some of them soon, as she was interested in seeing some of the pictures I have of some tortoise I have seen during a trek across the Sahara." The teenager Danger added with a smile. "You are more than welcome to join us, or we could always find another time."

Veronica Veronica followed Selena out into the waves on top of her board, keeping pace well enough after the other teenager. Once they were out, she followed Selena’s directions on where to position herself as she sat up on her board as well, following the other’s lead. Like Selena, Veronica looked back toward the shore, however, her gaze did not linger overly long on any one part of the beach. Instead, she seemed to scan over each of the guests, as if wanting to make sure they were all enjoying themselves. When Selena spoke up about missing Freedom City after graduation, the teenage Danger looked back over to her. "Planning to move back to Puerto Rico after graduation?" She asked. "Or is there somewhere in particular you are thinking about for college?"

Veronica Veronica had turned toward Huang when he had approached, noting the various mystical energies that emanated from him. She gave a small smile as he identified her, the flash of his long canines certainly being notable. "Oui, I am Veronica." She replied, her slight French accent becoming more distinct as she use a French word. When the teenage Danger shook his offered hand, she took on the more formal manner he had used to introduce himself. While she had not grown up in a royal court like Janus, Veronica had visited enough places in her life to learn to recognize and follow formalities. "It is very nice to meet you Huang." After a pause, she grinned herself as she added, "my great-uncle used to tell stories about when your mother was a young girl and would accompany your namesake to various digs around the world." She then gave a little shrug at his comment about tampering with things found in tombs. "Well, we Dangers are rather good at sticking our nose into places we probably shouldn’t, but we do tend to have a better chance of making it out with our noses still in place than most." "But," she began, as she reached up to pull a heavier silver chain out from under her T-shirt, a small, somewhat worn bronze amulet attached at the end, "in fairness, I did not actually find this in a tomb. More accurately, I would say it found me, given the odd circumstances in which I came across it." As she spoke, Veronica focused slightly on the amulet before looking back toward Huang as other members of their team began to arrive. "Hello Monica, Micah." She said as two of their fellow students arrived. "Looks like we are just waiting for two more."

Sub-basement of Claremont Academy Bayview, Freedom City, New Jersey Tuesday, October 2, 2018; 4:30 PM With the announcement of the intermural teams, the members of the newly formed Green Team had managed to get some time scheduled in the Doom Room to get some training and learning to work together. Veronica Danger was standing in the hallway outside the entrance to the Doom Room, waiting for her fellow teammates. The attractive teenager was not dressed all that different than normal, but she seemed even more prepared for a trek into the jungle or the mountains than normal. She was wearing a pair of dark green cargo pants, her normal well-worn hiking boots and a long sleeved tan shirt which was mostly buttoned up over a brown T-shirt. A pair of half-finger black leather gloves covered each hand and her long brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail. She still wore a pair of necklaces with the dozens of small silver charms around her neck, but the chains on which they hung from were heavier than normal. More out of the ordinary was what was on Veronica's belt, as a survival was on one hip, while a pair of climbing axes hung at the other. She wore a small backpack as well. As she waited for the others to arrive, the teenage Danger began leaning from side to side as she worked to limber up for whatever they would face in the Doom Room.

Veronica Veronica chuckled slightly at Abigail's comment about the usefulness of survival skills. "Yeah, my upbringing certainly lived up to my family name. I never knew when I would be climbing a mountain, hacking through a jungle or riding across a desert. Loved every minute of it to be sure." She replied with a grin. "But I certainly agree a sharp mind can be equally as useful." She then added. "I have never been a great collector of books, but certainly have read as many as I could. I have a pretty good memory, which makes needing to keep too many on hand a bit less necessary. I have built up something of a collection of journals I have kept over the years, with sketches and pictures and notes about the various places I have been, things I have seen and people I have met."

Veronica As Selena went to change for surfing, Veronica remained over near the board she had selected, watching as most of the others began organizing a game of volleyball or other beach games. When Pan came over and stated he was up for a race and thanked her for hosting the party, the teenage Danger gave him a warm smile. "Oh, your welcome Pan, we are happy to host. We will try to get some races going soon enough. If the waves really are not good, we may not say out surfing for too long." When Selena came back out dressed in her wetsuit, Veronica picked up her board under one arm. "Oh, ready as ever!" She replied as she made her way down to the surf with her board in hand.
