    True Sight

Veronica Veronica smiled slightly as Abigail talked about a former student who had a coffee maker in his dorm room and what the current headmistress might think of that, starting off alongside the other girl at an easy pace. "Oh, I don't know," the teenage Danger replied, "a coffee maker seems rather harmless compared to some of the things our fellow students have in their rooms even now. Between Janus and I our room has a number of sharp or pointed objects." "I learned to help make coffee or tea on a camp stove or just an open fire years ago." Veronica then added as they drew close to the front entrance to the school. "So, this is your second year at Claremont, right?"

    Assemble!

Veronica While Veronica was not particularly thrilled with the restrictions that were being placed on them, she was a bit more pleased to hear about the new intermural completion. Even if it was likely in part to try to help curtail attempts to get around the curfew and other restrictions. She certainly would look forward to the challenges the competition would likely bring, particularly in a place such as Claremont and its varied student body. As Kam whispered over to her an Janus, Veronica looked over at the Dakanan prince as she gave his question a bit of thought. "Perhaps, but I could see them concerned with trying to make things somewhat balanced out." She whispered back. It just seemed to her that allowing the students to pick their own teams had a number of inherent problems the headmistress would want to avoid, such as preventing a collection of power, ability and experience into one team that would make it difficult for any other team to truly compete.
  3. Tsunami "We were following up on similar disappearances." Tsunami replied as she walked down the stairs with Jessica to where Crimson Tiger was standing near the downed Ye Quan. "Your friend is not the only young adult that has been kidnapped by this gang. Our initial scouting of this location did not reveal anyone being held captive, as I have not seen anything to make me think they are here." As Jessica asked about subduing the gang leader, the Asian heroine looked down at the unconscious Ye Quan a moment before looking off to one side and raising one hand. Over along one of the walls, a sink forced itself on, as water began pouring out. But instead of the water flowing down the sink, it arched up to start forming a large globe of water in the air. After a few moments, Tsunami guided the globe of water over towards the unconscious gang member and formed the water around Ye Quan, covering his entire lower body below his neck. Once he was encased, the water seemed almost to harden, becoming a solid block of water that resisted any attempts to reach through it as normally would be possible with water.
  4. GM "Yeah, as I have said before, getting the Xeno operating is just one of our problems. If we do not ensure there are no pirates to shoot us down again, getting back up into space is not going to be that helpful." Soreen responded as Starshot stated they needed to stay until they had dealt with the pirates/slavers. She then turned to his question on finding the other pirates. "Well…I could try to look over the comm. logs and see if I can triangulate where they have been transmitting." Soreen began. "But, a better option might be to take a look at the flight logs of that flyer outside. If it has been to where the pirates main operation is, there would be record of that there. We could match those logs up with the scans you took with the Xeno's sensors just before we crashed." The pair made their way back outside and to the small landing pad where the pirate flyer was sitting. The main hold of the flyer appeared to be configured for transport, with some space for supplies. Starshot estimated there were enough seats to hold the entire group of pirates that had been attacking the Kurabanda when Starshot and his crew had first entered the forest. Powering up the vessel, the two were able to access the logs, confirming that the ship had just arrived at the outpost a couple of days ago, having travelled from a location about 400 kilometers to the northeast, where the sensor logs reveled a much larger compound in the lower elevations of a mountain range. Comparing the logs to the scans Starshot had taken on the Xeno, both their current location and the larger compound to the northeast matched the technology readings the Xeno's sensors had picked up as it had come down.
  5. Tsunami Up on the balcony area, Tsunami took a moment to scan the remaining crowd, satisfying herself that none of them possessed any weapons they were trying to conceal or otherwise posed a threat. Not seeing any that stood out, the Asian young woman instead turned her attention to the red skinned young woman that had been in the company of the gang member that had tried to attack the leader and started this confrontation. Moving slightly towards Jessica, Tsunami still had her protective barrier of water swirling around her. "I am Tsunami." She said to Jessica as she stopped a short distance away. "My companion is Crimson Tiger. What is it that brought you here tonight?"
  6. GM As Crimson Tiger finally took down the leader of the Dark Fists, the confusion and panic that had been in place seemed to come to an immediate halt as dozens of pairs of eyes looked on with shock. With their leader and over a dozen of their other members down, not to mention not being able to get to their more powerful weapons, many of the remaining gang members quickly began to exit the building, joining a rush of hanger-ons and other bystanders that had been at the rave. Others, just remained where they were in shock, still uncertain what they should do. That was the general reaction up on the balcony, with people just remaining off to the sides, afraid to even start trying to move towards the stairs down, afraid the Asian young woman with the water pattern swirling around her body might dispatch them with blasts of water as easily as the various gang members. And then there was the red skinned woman, who seemingly had started all of this chaos. Down on the lower level, the disguised SFX had moved over near Crimson Tiger. "I still have their weapons secured. Shall I call the police?"

Veronica If Veronica had a hint that Abigail was not being entirely truthful, she did not let it show, instead giving a small nod. "Yeah, the questions were starting to get rather tired as they went on. Though, some of the debate on the issues were interesting. It seemed like most of the groups had things get tense at least part of the time during those questions." The teenage Danger had not yet started walking, instead she glanced across the Quad toward the front entrance to the school. "So, I don't know about you, but I have a bit of time before I have any commitments. With the campus being open to the surrounding area for the next couple of hours, you interested in heading to the coffee shop just off campus? We have not had much chance to talk outside of class since school began."
  8. GM "Well, you are forgetting the larger flier they have parked outside." Soreen said with a small grin as she and Starshot began to take a more detailed inventory of what was there for them to use. "But even with that, I don’t think I will have everything I need." Laark gave a small nod as Starshot mentioned letting the pirates wait a bit, before taking the unconscious pirate and taking him toward the infirmary. Soreen and the Starshot then turned their attention to the garage area. She had already begun collecting a number of small mechanical and electrical parts she said would work for some of the minor, but not essential, repairs. In addition to the grav bike Starshot had commandeered, there were several other spare parts for bike and some other minor bits of mechanical and electrical parts in the garage, along with several tools, which Soreen said were rather worthless, as she had better ones back on the Xeno. From there they came to a small storeroom, in which they were able to identify several dozen power packs for the blasters the pirates carried, as well as half a dozen more fragmentation grenades and a similar number of smoke grenades. There were also a pair of incendiary grenades along with a few packs of explosives, along with detonators and trigger devices. There was a number of other miscellaneous equipment in the room, a couple dozen meters of rope, all weather blankets, a couple of med kits and survival kits, among a few other mundane items. After that there was what appeared to be a common room, which just had some chairs around a table along with some gambling paraphernalia. There was also a small countertop along one of the walls, on which there was a portable food heater and a small stack of plates and cups. Next to that was a barracks area, with several bunks and chests filled with clothing and a few personal items of minimal use. Finishing out the interior of the crudely built building was a radio room, a small lab/infirmary, a computer room and the power generator. Soreen was able to get them access to the computer system, and inside they found a variety of survey logs and other data, reveling that the pirates had apparently discovered rich deposits of several valuable metals in several locations in the nearby region. To mine these deposits, the pirates had been enslaving members of the native species, Ul-Mor, Kurabanda and some other raced called the Edestekai. Apparently the Edestekai were the primary source of labor for the pirates, as they had come upon a means of taking advantage of their religious beliefs and superstitions to deceive them into obeying the pirates.

    True Sight

It was shortly after classes had finished the day several of the students had been presented with several ethical questions during philosophy class. Veronica Danger was walking at something of a brisk pace through the Quad from the main classroom building, trying to catch up with one of her fellow students, Abigail Storm. The weather was still warm enough that the teenage Danger was dressed in her typical cargo shorts, this time a brown pair, with a red T-shirt over which she wore a short sleeved tan button up shirt that she wore unbuttoned. "Hey Abby!" She called out as she started to draw near the other girl, which allowed her to more easily catch up with the other teen as she stopped to see who had called her name. "Hey, just wanted to see if you were okay." Veronica said as she drew up alongside Abby. "You seemed to get a bit frazzled toward the end of those questions in philosophy."

Give any extra to my Star Knight Squire. I guess Ref point to the squire as well.
  11. Yeah, that would miss, even with the -1 he gets from being slowed. So, he gets a 13 for his toughness save, and this time I will say he just goes down completely. With the gang leader down, not being able to get to their weapons and Tsunami having efficiently taken out quite a few of them, the remaining gang members are either making a break for it, or just giving up. So, go ahead with you IC post Thunder, then we are out of combat.
  12. Well, his luck finally ran out, he got a 18 on his Will save. Of course, this is not a complete failure, it just means he is slowed. So… Round Five 24 Crimson Tiger (bruised, 2 HP) 19 Tsunami (unharmed, 3 HP) 17 Ye Quan (bruised 3, slowed) 16 Gang Member (multiple) 9 Jessica (bruised, 4 HP) 8 SFX (unharmed, 2 HP) Back to Crimson Tiger Thunder!
  13. GM With the balcony of the warehouse momentarily cleared of combatant members of the Dark Fists, the bystanders along the sidelines watched in stunned silence, hardly moving for risk of possibly making themselves appears as aggressors by the super powered individuals that had disrupted the gang's rave. Over where he had been knocked to the ground, Ye Quan pulled himself back up to his knees, shaking excess water off his long hair. The gang leader briefly focused on the three young women he and his gang members had been facing. Apparently realizing that things had now turned against him in the fight, the gang leader instead stood and ran down the nearby stairs to the lower level.
  14. Tsunami Over to one side of the balcony area, Tsunami was still keeping her three attackers at bay. As she glanced around the area, she noted that the gang members had moved in to reinforce their numbers. While she was generally confident in her and Crimson Tiger's ability to deal with these attackers, the longer they allowed so many of them to be in the fight, the more chances there were that one might land a lucky blow. This was particularly true with the gang leader managing to withstand or just outright shake off so many of the attacks against him. So far SFX appeared to be keeping the heavier weapons secured, but the longer this fight took the more chances there were that some gang members might gain access to deadlier weapons. With the decision made that she needed to help wrap this up quicker, Tsunami slipped to one side of one of her attackers, positioning herself so she was facing in the general direction of all the gang members. The Asian young woman brought up both hands in front of her, causing multiple tendrils of water to shot forth, each targeting a different one of the gang members, twisting harmlessly around Crimson Tiger or Jessica as needed. All of the gang members were struck by the attack, being knocked off their feet by the force of the attack. The majority of the gang members were all rendered unconscious, the sole exception was the gang leader, who while being knocked off his feet and being sent flying over a dozen feet into a table, managed to regain his focus as he looked up toward the three young women he was now facing alone.
  15. Okay, Tsunami maneuvers herself so she can unleash a Cone of Water that will catch all the gang members and Ye Quan (while missing Mali and Jessica thanks to selective), she gets a 15, rolling a natural 1. So, I will use a HP for a reroll, getting a 22, which hits them all. All the normal gang members do down (unable to beat a DC 25 toughness save). Ye Quan gets a 16, which misses by 9, so bruised and dazed. I will remove the daze, returning Tsunami’s HP to her.
  16. He rolled a 28 on his Fort save.
  17. GM "Well, Soreen will be better able to tell you what she has found so far, but there is an infirmary that I saw before coming out to keep watch." Laark replied as he and Starshot made their way back into the garage area with the unconscious pirate. "The other two pirates have started to recover, and are bound and being watched by the Kurabanda, though, I dare say they would just as rather gut them all." The large alien added. As they entered the garage, they found Soreen busy gathering together tools and some spare parts. "Ah, there you are, finally decided to return from your little joyride?" She asked with a smirk. "While you were busy taking in the sights, I have been making an initial survey of what we have to work with here. Good new, there is a power core that should be able to charge you plasma rifle, and anything else that might need some more power. I also took a look at the pirate’s radio room, looks like their radio was having issues, so they are currently not in communication with any of their comrades, either elsewhere on the planet or up in orbit. Bad news, my initial look over does not lead me to believe we have all we need to get the Xeno back into space. But, it will take a bit more time to really get an idea of what all we have."
  18. Veroni-KOed - TA Going to spend 2 of Veronica’s points, all on skills. Add Languages: Spanish; Dakanan 2 ranks Swimming (which becomes 8 (+10)) 2 ranks Medicine (which becomes 2 (+6)) 2 ranks Riding (which becomes 10 (+14))
  19. Tsunami Giang listened to Murk's answer regarding how the organization dealt with those immortals that were potentially dangerous and were not interested in working with it. She did not disagree with the policy, or Murk's adherence to the law, but she was of the opinion that unjust and cruel laws were not something to be followed just because they were law. However, that was not the topic of debate at the moment and she did not feel it needed to be. When Murk asked for her discretion, the Asian young woman gave a small smile. "That was probably something you should have asked much earlier, such as when you asked for the promise of no violence." She paused only a brief moment, before adding, "but yes, I can of course promise discretion on these matters."
  20. Tiff, what exactly is Traveller planning to do?
  21. Veronica Prudence gave Leroy a small smile as he apologized about the title he had used for here. "I am sure it will be most useful, thank you very much." She said before Leroy moved over to talk to Nicole. "Don't worry Prudence, I will take some time to study it later tonight. We will figure out how it works in no time." Veronica offered her and Janus' personal assistant. With that, the teenage Danger turned her attention back to welcoming the other students that followed after Nicole. "Good afternoon everyone, welcome!" She said with a warm smile as Monica, Selena, Micah and Pan arrived as well. "Seems people are starting to get some beach games organized, but for those that are willing to brave the water, there are a number of options for that as well." Veronica looked over at Selena as the older girl mentioned the waves not cooperating. "Not giving up so easily are you?" She asked with a smile. "At the very least I would appreciate some pointers before you join any of the beach games. I am not quite ready to give up on trying my hand at surfing just yet." As Dio donned an illusionary disguise, Veronica gave a small approving nod. "Yes, that generally looks better Dio, though, I can see through the illusion. As for a race, while I am not sure I fancy the chances of a waterborne craft against an airborne competitor, I am willing to try with a couple of these, but first I want to try a bit of surfing, and am certain that I will not be able to come close to matching you while trying that."
  22. He makes his Will save with a 24 So, Round Four 24 Crimson Tiger (bruised, 2 HP) 19 Tsunami (unharmed, 3 HP) 17 Ye Quan (bruised 2) 16 Gang Member (multiple) 9 Jessica (bruised, 4 HP) 8 SFX (unharmed, 2 HP) Crimson is up!
  23. Veronica "And don't forget Miss Grue!" Veronica replied in with a small smile as Kam mentioned that there had been Grue that had turned from the Unity in the past. She had to agree with Kam somewhat that the question seemed to be rather outdated. When Micah spoke up next, the teenage Danger looked over to him. "I agree one should be somewhat cautious about just accepting what this Grue is saying Micah, but there are other considerations to remember. As I understand hearing at some family gatherings over the years, the Unity is something of a hive-mind collective, so this Grue may not have had much choice in anything he, or she, did until they were able to gain some level of independence. Assuming there is a way to truly determine what level of independence the Grue had while establishing their identity, then it is hardly fair to hold them accountable for something that occurred when they were not completely in control of their actions."
  24. GM The return trip may have taken a bit longer than the frantic chase out, but it was pleasant enough, the grav-bike providing quick passage over the hot sands of this section of desert. Finally, the pirate's makeshift base came into view ahead. As Starshot drew near, he spotted Laark out in front of the building, rifle in hand as he kept a watch on the horizon. Laark lowered the rifle when Starshot brought the grav-bike closer, coming to a stop a short distance away. "I see you caught the one that slipped away." Laark replied. "We have secured the two you incapacitated. Sereen has been looking through the structure to see what there is that might help us."
  25. GM Starshot quickly goes to work examining the prone pirate. It quickly is apparent the pirate is not faking to try to lull him over, but was not mortally injured. The pirate had a broken arm and at least a few broken ribs, in addition to a variety of heavy bruising across his body. Starshot did not believe any of the broken ribs had caused any significant internal damage, but there may have been some. Without any materials on hand, Starshot had little to set the pirate’s arm with, but he could provide some pain medicine and otherwise generally stabilize the man.
