1. Veronica "I learned to drive younger as well." Veronica replied as Lulu talked about learning to drive when she was young. "Several of the places we lived were not as strict on the age for driving, and in any event, it was a good idea to have an extra driver around just in case." The teenager returned Janus’ grin as the conversation shifted to discussion about meditating. "Yes, I have some experience with meditating, having spent some time with Buddhist monks in the Himalayas and Hindu monks in India. But I cannot say I have learned how to enter a trance. It would certainly be something I would be will to give a try." At Janus' comment about volunteering Prudence to help Lulu with getting the paperwork done for getting her license, Veronica grinned again and looked over toward the Alabamian teen to explain, "Prudence is our personal assistant assigned to us by our Aunt Rachel. Since we are going to be in Freedom City while here at Claremont, we have had to take on some responsibilities at Danger International, the family business so to speak."
2. Megan "Those are quite cute." Megan replied in agreement with a wide smile at Lulu's excitement about the boots she had picked out. While the older woman knew the teenager would not be able to distract herself from thinking about her past and being away from home all the time, it was nice to see she was able to at least a little while. As for the longer term, Megan fully intended to do all she could to help Lulu along on moving beyond her past, and knew that Claremont had lots of resources to help with that as well. After purchasing the booties, Megan and Lulu stopped at a few more stores, primarily to pick up some things for Lawrence, before heading back to the parking garage to begin the trip back to North Bay, talking about some options along the way where they could stop to pick up dinner to take back home.
3. Okay, another round. What is Starshot's plan? (note the IC post, you are now to close to the pirate to try to use the blaster rifle against him)
4. GM Starshot managed to make several perfectly timed turns in a row, each time taking a better angle than the fleeing pirate. As a result, he quickly began to close the distance with his target. As Starshot made the third sharp angle, the pirate turned and fired his blaster pistol. By some quirk of fate, the pirate managed to clip the space hunter. But it was little more than a glancing hit, burning hole in Starshot's coat, but otherwise only singeing the skin below. Pushing his grave cycle to its limits, Starshot managed to pull up next to the pirate, the pair now racing neck and neck. However, one disadvantage of being this close was Starshot could not bring his acquired blaster rifle to bear, while the pirate could still use his blaster pistol in such close quarters…
5. Well for Veronica it is pretty easy, she is throwing up a force construct between Prudence and the gateway, to stop the PA from getting sucked through.
6. Ye Quan manages to get a 27! So he is just fine.
7. He only gets a 21, so you bluff him.

Assemble!

Veronica Veronica had been listening closely to Headmistress Summers as had most of the others, not bothering to take down any notes as she was very good at remembering things. A slight frown came to her face as the headmistress referred to them as children and mentioned coming changes. The idea of some sort of strict restrictions did not sit well with the teenage Danger. She might still be a teenager, but she had been allowed a fair bit of responsibility and freedom in her travels with her parents. But before she could dwell too deeply on that, there was a bit of commotion toward the back of the auditorium, causing Veronica to look back in that direction. It had not taken long for the teenager to learn that there was apparently quite a few students at the school this year that either used magic, were empowered by magic, or possessed some sort of magic devices. So it was not too surprising to her that there was a considerable amount of magic around the area as she glanced back. What was more surprising however was what she saw towards the ceiling of the auditorium. Partially through the ceiling was a large, green reptile that was vaguely serpentine in appearance, and no one else around it seemed to notice it was there. It did appear a bit fuzzy to Veronica, so it was possible it was concealed from most in some way. Veronica started slightly, and reached to take up several of the small silver trinkets on one of her necklaces as she watched the reptile. It appeared to be focused on a tall male student toward the back of the room, but then after a few moments, it moved back up through the ceiling and began making its way off from the building. Veronica was able to watch it for a few moments, looking through the walls at it, but it did not appear to be moving aggressively, so she relaxed slightly and tried to focus back on the headmistress.
9. Veronica Veronica glanced around them as Lulu once again brought up a mental illusion. But now that the teenage Danger had been given an example of the other girl's abilities already, she was able to realize the illusion much more quickly. She actually found it slightly disappointing to see through the illusion so fast, as she had enjoyed getting a glimpse of Lulu’s home and what it was she would miss about it. So instead Veronica focused on Janus’ comment about the two of them having their drivers licenses, nodding her head slightly as she added, "and I am looking forward to see what those Danger Cycles can really do." She also had to nod in agreement with Janus' statement about their being new adventures to enjoy. "Yes, exactly!" She stated grinning at the other two. "I have always lived wanting to know what was over the next hill or down under the waters of some lake, now we have a school full of new people to get to know and learn from, and start looking for the next adventure together!"
10. Megan Megan listened quietly as Lulu spoke about the emergence of her powers, keeping an eye out to ensure the store clerk was not coming back. When Lulu finished, the older woman leaned forward and gently placed one hand over one of Lulu's. "I understand that those that develop exceptional abilities naturally can have them start emerging at a rather young age. For some abilities it is more difficult than others to realize what is going on, or how to deal with them." She replied quietly. "You seem to have been able to learn to handle them very well. Claremont will certainly help that more. As for what you do with them going forward. That is now your choice, no one else's."
11. Tsunami "Yes, the world can present many situations that makes it more difficult to closely adhere to principle of defensive force." Giang replied in agreement. "Although, if other guests in this establishment are following this rule, conforming with that ethos should not be a difficult matter." Once the pair were inside, Giang studied the antiquated décor of the club, showing little sign of any particular reaction to the style. She gave a nod of thanks to the server that brought her and her host tea and was just picking up her cup when Murk dropped his disguise and revealed his true form. While Giang mostly managed to show little sign of reaction to the revel, she did arch her eyebrows slightly. "So I see." She replied thoughtfully to Murk's rather understated comment about his age. "I can only imagine what it must have been like to live through so many millennia of human history and development. It certainly must give you a rather unique view of the world and our current state of existence."
12. Veronica "Well, I guess where we want to go depends on what beaches have the better surf." Veronica commented when Corrine discussed either using her father’s beach house in North Bay or going over near Lonely Point. She then looked over toward Selena to see if the older teen had information about the best conditions for surfing in Freedom City. At Micah's comment about not having a swimsuit or learning how to swim, the teenage Danger looked back his way. "Well, that is not a problem. There are other things to do on a trip to the beach than go into the water or surf." She replied with a smile. "Trying to learn to swim in heavy surf is probably not a good idea. If you were interested, I could help you with some lessons in one of the school’s pools. Once you get a swimsuit of course."
13. Veronica Veronica was not sure why Lulu was more hesitant to read Janus’ thoughts, but figured it might have something to do with her blushing after Janus offered to be next. Whatever the case was, Veronica was not going to question Lulu's statement. Instead the teenager sat quietly as her cousin began to provide a brief description of Fortuna and Aruivia. Veronica was of course aware of this information, having heard it before, as well as considerably more details over the years. When the wistful tone came into Janus' voice, the other Danger gave her cousin a comforting look, having spoken with Janus in more detail about her reasons for leaving Fortuna over the summer.
14. Veronica is just going to repair her barrier and chat (blah blah blah)
15. Veronica When the second alien tried to free the first, attacking the barrier Veronica had put around it, there was some damage done, but the glowing mystical energy remained in place. As Facsimile and Forever Boy coordinated attacks against the free alien Veronica considered her barrier. Focusing on it for a moment, the teenage Danger channeled mystical energy into the barrier, repairing the damage that had been done. "Well, if this Sri Rojan had sought to request the gate instead of just sending the two of you in here to just take it, perhaps we might have been willing to at least listen to what he had to say." Veronica replied to Platinum Porpoise. "But since you chose to attempt to take it by force, there is little reason to just take your word about the gate and just allow you to have it."
16. Ari, you forgot that Veronica put up a force construct around Eagle.
17. GM "Indeed they are squire." Sri Darvo replied in agreement with B'ka as the three reached an open courtyard. The knight turned to regard the two squires assigned to him for a moment. "Among the most important things to remember when you are out there is to try to remain calm and controlled, trust in your training and your armor, and while we are together, trust in one another. If you can do those things, regardless of what challenges we may find, we shall overcome." "But we shall find very little of those if we continue to remain here. So, it is time to make our way to the stars. Just stay close to me and I will provide the telemetry for our first destination once we have cleared orbit." With that, Sri Darvo took to the air, starting up into the bright sky, a trail of red energy flowing in his wake, joining similar energy contrails from dozens of other knights and squires that were also taking to the sky.
18. Tsunami Entering the taxi, Giang waited patiently during the trip to the Club Immortus. As Murk commented about her cutting ties with her family, the Asian young woman gave a dismissive shrug. "It has not been an easy choice, and agents of my family, or others aligned with them, have sought me out in the past." She replied calmly. She looked over at the Club Immortus as their taxi arrived and Murk introduced it, studying the building as she considered his words. "I only resort to violence in self-defense or to defend others. So I give my word that I will bring no harm or violence to any inside." She replied.
19. The pirate only gets a 14 this time. He shots his blaster pistol at Starshot and hits with a 25 for a critical hit! DC 25 toughness save for Starshot.
20. Veronica "Or a dry suit, if it is particularly cold." Veronica replied as Corinne mentioned the use of wet suits if the water was a bit too cold. "Though, one of those might be a bit more difficult to try to surf in." The teenage Danger gave Corinne a sympathetic look when the older teen talked about her difficult relationship with the father she barely knew, but that vanished when Corinne mentioned her post-graduation plans. "The Julliard? That's fantastic." She replied with an impressed look. "You clearly have put in some hard work. I can understand why you have such a hectic schedule."
21. Megan "Doing some research beforehand is always a good idea." Megan replied with a nod. "But do not let yourself get dead set on something you have just seen online. When you actually try them on, there are plenty of things that could turn out to be very different than you expected. And besides, you never know when you will just fall in love another pair of shoes you somehow missed online next to the ones you did look at." Soon the pair were at the Calvin Klein store and Megan once again provided some helpful suggestions without trying to override Lulu's personal style choices. When the sales person had left the two for another trip to the back, Lulu asked her question, which caused Megan's expression to become a bit more serious. "Well, I was a little younger than you, though mine did not develop naturally." The older woman replied quietly. "It was not long before I was going out in costume, but I started with pretty small things. Purse snatchers, cats in trees, that sort of stuff. I turned down a couple of invitations to Claremont, in large part because I had not told my parents about my abilities, let alone my costumed crime fighting. I had some other reasons as well, but they were mostly selfish ones. I actually kept my secret from my parents until after I was done with college. I am pretty fortunate that that keeping that secret for so long did not ruin my relationship with them. It certainly caused me plenty of other relationship problems and even drove Robert and I apart for a time." She gave Lulu a small smile. "But you don't have that problem with us, and I hope you will feel comfortable coming to either Robert or I if you need to. I think just having a network of peers at your school who are in similar situations will be very helpful as well. There were times when I certainly could have used that."
22. Veronica "Yes, that is it. Very well done Louise." Veronica replied with a smile as Lulu described her memory, again using the French pronunciation of the other teen’s name. "That was a few years ago on a small island in the Aegean. I was reciting some lines from the Odyssey in the original Ancient Greek." As Lulu thanked her for sharing the memory and complimented her on her memory, Veronica's smile widened. "Oh, it was nothing, you are very welcome. I am rather lucky in having a nearly photographic memory, but thank you." As Janus volunteered to be next, Veronica sat back out of the way, waiting to see if Lulu would take the offer.
23. Megan Megan gave a small smile as Lulu described having to deal with the laundry of all her bothers. "I have an older brother, and sister as well, but my mother made sure we were each responsible for our own laundry. So you do not have to fear about having to do any but your own." The older woman's smile widened as Lulu mentioned focusing on the future instead of dwelling on the past, although there was the slightest hint of melancholy in her expression that passed quickly. "That is certainly the right spirit." Megan replied as she started off back towards the center of the mall and the hustle and bustle of the crowds.
24. Veronica If Veronica was bothered in the slightest by Janus' friendly teasing, she showed absolutely no sign of it, instead focusing her attention on Lulu as the other teenager began to talk about herself and her home. Although Lulu downplayed her past some, the look on honest curiosity in Vernoica's eyes never faded. The curiosity only seemed to increase as Lulu began to describe her powers, and before Veronica could make a comment, Lulu was providing her demonstration. The teenage Danger's mouth opened slightly with a look of awe as the tree began to grow in the middle of the room. But, it was only moments before that look quickly changed to one of realization. "Ah, that is impressive. A mentally projected illusion into the minds of those nearby." She stated, nodding her head slightly before focusing back on Lulu. "And you have telepathic abilities as well?" She asked, seeming in thought for a moment before she added. "Okay, go ahead and read my surface thoughts." She said, focusing on Lulu's eyes with a smile.
25. Veronica Veronica gave a slight yelp as the creature easily smashed free from the mystical cage she had a round it, but she managed to roll away as it rushed to attack her. Luckily despite his apparent lack of confidence, the AEGIS agent proved able to quickly deal with the creature and subdue it. This allowed the teenage Danger to shift her focus back on the two aliens that had attacked the lab. Seeing that one was again trying to transport the gate away, she raised one hand which again glowed with green mystical energy as another glowing force field sprang into being, as she tried to trap the alien inside and cutoff his view of the portal, hoping to disrupt his spell.
