  1. GM Roulette's optic beam flashed across the now deserted bazaar right toward Kazzan Suul. For a brief moment it looked as if the agile bounty hunter might dodge the blast, but it managed to catch him squarely, blasting him off his feet and sending him into a wall next to the Jaas bounty hunter where he landed on the ground, clearly hurt and dazed. Back over where he had been fighting Barrier, the large bounty hunter saw the attack and started over toward his leader. "You will pay for that!" He called out, leveling his large energy weapon at Roulette and once again releasing a stream of energy blasts that filled the air towards the Zultasian. But Roulette was able to dive to the side of the torrent of energy blasts, even as some of the abandoned merchant stands were blasted apart. Several bursts struck the forcefield holding the insectoid bounty hunter and this time the barrier did not withstand the barrage, collapsing after a brief flicker and freeing the hunter trapped inside. Over on the building above Roulette, the bounty hunter sniper that had been focused on Rudy now set her sights on the last standing Voidrunner. But she mistimed her shot as she tried to track the rapidly dodging Roulette, and her blast blew a small hole in the ground a few feet away from him. As Kazzan pushed himself back upright and shook off the effect of Roulette's blast, a antigrave vehicle pulled up near him and the Jaas hunter, driven by a tall, lean, red and white scaled reptilian driver who held up a small automatic blaster weapon as he looked over to the other hunters, ready to cover them. The insectoid hunter with the large bladed melee weapon leap toward Roulette, quickly covering the distance between her and the Zultasian, swinging her melee weapon as she came close. But Roulette managed to duck underneath, causing the wide blade to pass harmlessly overhead. The hunter continued past, moving over closer toward the antigav vehicle.
  2. Okay, the large bounty hunter moves back toward Kazzan and the Jaas, leveling his weapon toward Roulette and opening fire with a autofire spray of blaster fire (in a large cone targeted area). The forcefield around the melee hunter will also be caught in the cone. He just misses Roulette with a 22, but hits the forcefield with a 24). The autofire makes that a DC 28 toughness save for the forcefield, this time it gets a 15, so it goes down and the melee hunter is free. With Bliss dazed this round, that brings up… Round Seven 29 Sniper (unharmed) 27 Kazzan Suul (bruised, Dazed) 24 Vitzh (unharmed) 21 Melee Bounty Hunter (unharmed) 19 Barrier (unharmed, 3 HP) 17 Jaas Bounty Hunter (bruised) 16 Bounty Hunter 2 (staggered, bruised) 15 Roulette (bruised, 3 HP) 15 Large Bounty Hunter (bruised 2) 13 Bliss (bruised 3, Staggered, 0 HP) The snipes will take aim at Roulette as well and fires, but badly misses. A new bounty hunter arrives, pulling up in a antigav vehicle near where Kazzan and the Jass hunter are. The melee hunter makes a move by attack on Routlette on her way over to Kazzan and the Jaas hunter. She manages to miss as well.
  3. Ouch, that is going to hurt. His first save is terrible, so he will reroll (HP to Roulette), this time getting a 19, boosted by the reroll to 29. So, still a bruise and a daze, but about as good as he could hope.
  4. GM I believe this is a good opportunity to disengage. The Jaas bounty hunter mentally communicated to Kazzan Saul and the other hunters it was in a mental link with. I generally agree. Kazzan replied. But we need to be sure all of us can get clear. Agreeing with that sentiment, the Jaas hunter aimed its blaster rifle at the forcefield surrounding the other insectoid hunter, taking a careful shot that stuck the field, sending further cracks along its surface.
  5. The Jaas bounty hunter will fire his blaster at the forcefield around the melee hunter (power attack -4 atk/+4 dam), and it gets a horrible roll which I will reroll (+1 hp to Barrier). The reroll gets a 27, so a DC 27 toughness save for that part of the forcefield, which gets a 22 on the save, so is again damaged (-2 toughness now). That brings up Roulette.
  6. GM The group started off after Starshot down the passage, which headed in a slight southeastern direction for about a kilometer, before taking a sharp turn directly to the east for about 300 meters before turning south for another 300 hundred or so and then turning sharp west. They had gone about 300 meters west, which was slightly worrying Starshot when they came to another large chamber. This one also ran north/south (the passage they had followed entering it toward the north end from the east. It ran almost a full kilometer and was close to 300 meters wide. At the southern end, Starshot could see another passage headed to the south. Like many of the larger caverns, this one was dimly lit by phosphorescent minerals. The air in the chamber seemed a bit cooler than the other passages and caverns they had been in, although there was not immediately apparent indication as to why. The group was about halfway toward the southern exit when Laark stopped walking, signaling for the others to halt. He seemed to be straining to hear something for a moment when he asked, "does anyone here that? It sounds like water dripping." Neither Soreen or Starshot heard the sound.
  7. Tsunami (12) From Beneath You it Devours: Age of the Aquarian (1) Observing the Mind (11) Synapse (9) The Secret Garden (2) Shaking the Branches (7) Paradigm (5) The Red Planet (2) A God Among Insects (3) GM (88) Crash on Volturnus (450 Revanch: Under the Sword (9) Revanche: Engines of Destruction (6) The Red Planet (3) Shaking the Branches (11) Praetorians: The Eden Program (3) Praetorians: Tide of Progress (4) Revanche: At the Point of a Sword (2) Okay, so Paradigm's posts to Synapse please. By my calculation, I have enough GM posts that after doubling both Tsunami and Synapse will get to 100 posts. If I am off, then enough GM posts so Tsunami is 100 at least. My ref point to Tsunami (unless only Tsunami can get to 100 points, then to Synapse). Thanks!
  8. GM Soreen and Laark were quick to react to Starshot’s shouted warning, with the Ul-Mor responding only a few moments after as the three started running toward the passage to the southeast. For formerly aquatic creatures that had adapted to walking on their tentacles on land, the Ul-Mor were able to move at impressive speed, keeping up with the taller humanoids. The sound of the stamped grew ever louder as the group moved. They had managed to cover about a hundred meters toward the entrance to the passage when the first of the stampeding creatures appeared from the southwester passage. A quick glance over his shoulder showed Starshot that the creatures were bipedal reptiles about six or so feet long and standing about four feet high at the highest. They had long flat snouts that appeared almost shovel like. The stampeding creatures began turning toward the north in the large chamber, heading in the direction of the passage the group had come from. Starshot was not sure how many of the creatures were part of the stamped, being too focused on getting to the other passage, but he estimated there were close to two dozen of them. Starshot reached the side passage just as the last of the stampeding creatures had moved into the larger chamber and turned north. The group was now well over a hundred meters from the stamped, and it seemed unlike the creatures would change direction to come back toward them.
  9. GM The group began moving forward once more, Laark and Soreen turning their lights back on once they amount of phosphorescent minerals became more sparse. The passage they were now in turned slightly and began taking them in a eastern direction, but after about almost a kilometer it began to turn slightly to the south before gradually they were heading directly south. About another kilometer later they reached another large cavern, which was about half a kilometer wide and about one kilometer long. Just on the far end, Starshot could make out three passages leading out of the large cavern, one headed slightly southeast, the other due south and the third to the southwest. As the group was moving through the large chamber, headed closer toward the three other passages, Starshot started to hear a sound that seemed to be coming from the southwestern passage. At first he was not sure what it was, other than that it was continuous and coming closer. Then he recognized the general sound, having heard it numerous occasions while hunting. It was the sound of many feet rushing forward. A stamped!
  10. GM Startshot leads the others into the large chamber where the cave hunter was located. The creature had settled down on the pile of bones and debris, but was otherwise still apparently awake. Moving along the far side, using the rocky outcroppings as cover, Starshot quietly made his way toward the other exit from the chamber. Behind him Soreen was doing a fair job of staying quite, while the two Ul-Mor quietly brought up the rear of the group, moving about as quietly as Starshot himself did. Only Laark made any significant amount of noise, the larger alien scraping the club slung over his shoulder against some rocks at one point. The group froze at the noise, looking over toward the cave hunter, which seemed to glance about a moment before settling back down. A few minutes later the group was all out of the other exit with the cave hunter unaware of their passage.
  11. Laark only manages a 11 on his stealth roll, while Soreen gets a 17. The two Ul-Mor get a 25 and 21! The cave hunter gets a 11, which just misses hearing Laark, after some range penalties come into play.
  12. Could I get a Stealth roll for Starshot please.
  13. Giang swept her gaze over the scene taking place in the water as the boat shook once again from sharks slamming into it. Nothing about the behavior of the sharks made any normal sense, so she could only assume something was agitating or outright controlling them. But the immediate concern was the diver who had been dragged underwater and the surfers who were in the most immediate danger. "Kat, you need to get those surfers about the ferry." The Asian young woman stated as she spotted the suffer down below the waves. "Mali, see if you can help Tona in discouraging the sharks attacking the ferry. I am going to help the surfer dragged below the waves." With that, Giang dove over the side of the railing, disappearing into the water without even a splash. Once in the water she quickly surrounded herself with a flowing sheen of water that served to protect her from harm. A few quick strokes and she was soon down below the waves toward where the suffer was being dragged under.
  14. GM Kahai sees the image of the creature in Starshot’s mind and seems to recognize it. That is a cave hunter. Quite aggressive. The Ul-Mor replied. It feeds on other beings that live within these caves. Dangerous, but not more so than the Quickdeath. It then added. No way to go turning back, so likely best to either try to go around or through it. Could wait to see if it is ready for sleep and try to sneak past.
  15. Tsunami gets a 26 on her notice check to try and see what she can detect under the water.
  16. And now Barrier is up Olopi!
  17. GM Roulette’s blast had managed to hit Kazzan, the Jaas bounty hunter and the large bounty hunter that was fighting with Barrier. Kazzan managed to roll with the blast, seemingly unhurt as he was quickly back on his feet, while the other two each appeared hurt by the attack but also remained on their feet. Across the Core, the sniper on a building above the melee aimed up (from her perspective) once more, zeroing back in on the prone form of Ruby. Taking a moment to line up the shot, the bounty hunter fired once more, the blast streaking quickly across the space between them, once again phasing through Barrier’s forcefield and striking Ruby squarely once more. Ruby gave out a small cry of pain as the blast hit before crumpling back to the ground, this time unconscious from the continued hits. Kazzan raised his twin pistols and aimed them over towards Bliss as he started running over towards the Jaas bounty hunter. He again let out a quick series of blasts, one after the other, all aimed at Bliss. But only the first struck true, hitting her squarely and knocking her off her feet and onto the ground, dazed and badly hurt. Inside one of Barrier’s forcefields, the insectoid bounty hunter with the large double bladed melee weapon once again took a swing at the field around her, but this time her blow was not well placed and the blade glanced harmlessly off the field, keeping the hunter trapped inside.
  18. You forgot to apply the three bruises Bliss already has, so that is a 14 result, so she is staggered and dazed.
  19. GM The creature continued to pace around the chamber some, moving over near a pile of bones and other debris that appeared to almost be a makeshift bed of sorts. Starshot was far enough away that it was not difficult to back out of the chamber without attracting any attention. Moving back over to the others, he found them waiting a bit nervously, or at least his crew members appeared a bit nervous, he still could not quite tell with the Ul-Mor. When Starshot signaled to the two Ul-Mor, they both moved over near him. As he removed his helmet, Kahai reached out to make contact once more. What may this one do to assist Star-the-Shot?
  20. Okay, we are on to…. Round Six 29 Sniper (unharmed) 27 Kazzan Suul (unharmed) 21 Melee Bounty Hunter (unharmed) 19 Barrier (unharmed, 2 HP) 18 Ruby Vox (bruised 3, Dazed 1 HP) 17 Jaas Bounty Hunter (bruised) 16 Bounty Hunter 2 (staggered, bruised) 15 Roulette (bruised, 3 HP) 15 Large Bounty Hunter (bruised 2) 13 Bliss (bruised 3, 0 HP) Because Dark is missing, I will have the Sniper take down Ruby at this point. Kazzan will take a shot a Bliss, he will power attack (-2 at/+2 dam), he gets a 20 on the attack roll, which it just enough to hit her. That is a DC 25 toughness save for Bliss.
  21. GM The others remain in place as Starshot snuck forward in to the side cavern. As he moves inside, Starshot found a good sized cavern room that was dimly lit by phosphorescent minerals. Scanning the room he quickly spots a seven meter tall creature about 60 meters away. It looked very much like a hairless bear and was pacing around a section of the cavern, apparently not having noticed him or those in the passage behind yet. Further into the chamber, off to the southeast, Starshot saw another passage leading away from the cavern.
  22. Okay, that brings us around to Bliss.
  23. GM The others followed after Starshot and they were able to make it out of the cavern without attracting another attack from the batlike creatures. While a few were still fluttering about the ceiling, most had settled back down into other dark, shadowy areas. Soon the group was moving once more along the passage, which continued in a eastern direction for about a kilometer before turning northeast once more for another kilometer and then finally turning north. After about another kilometer, the group reached a point where the passage began to turn back to the northwest, while a side passage led toward what appeared to be another lager chamber to the east.
  24. GM A quick look confirmed what Foreshadow had already assumed. In the time it had taken to take down the gunman the others on the rooftops had already slipped away as well. Widowmaker was also gone from the street below, a car speeding off several blocks away reveling the likely means of his departure. As the costumed crime fighter was turning away from the building’s edge, he heard a whistle from above him. Looking up he spotted the woman that had been with Salnikov standing on the roof of the old water tower on the building. "Hey hero. Someone wants to speak with you." She stated, tossing a cellphone down to Foreshadow before disappearing in another flash of light. On the other end of the line was Salnikov. "It appears I owe you my life, at least in part. For that I thank you. Given that and the other recent events I find myself reconsidering our very recent conversation. I find myself no longer having much loyalty to one of my clients, one I suspect you are very interested in learning about."
