  1. Figured it was likely time to wrap this fight up. Foreshadow can easily take down that gunman he is facing in your next post. Then we can move on with things.
  2. GM Fade was quickly back on her feet, grabbing ahold of Salkinov once more as they once again disappeared in a flash of light. This time the female mercenary knew she had to put more distance between her and the assassins, and as soon as they appeared further down the block, they disappeared quickly once more. Dagger had managed to mark their first jump, but when he saw them disappear a second time he clenched his fists. He had barely been able to keep pace with them one jump at a time so was bound to quickly fall behind and lose them after multiple jumps. "The target has escaped." He stated into his comm to his remaining henchmen. "Time to fade away." With that, he jumped off the rooftop and down into a nearby dark alley. Over on another rooftop, Foreshadow was still facing one of the gunmen that had been firing on Salkinov's limo and bodyguards. Although the man had managed to stay on his feet, he was not nearly in Foreshadow's class in terms of fighting. The dark clad hero was easily able to sidestep an attempt to strike him with the butt of the man’s rifle.
  3. Happy Birthday Tiff!!
  4. GM At Starshot’s warning Soreen stayed crouched down behind her stalagmite. Laark also remained crouched near a large bolder, his blaster rifle aimed downward so the flashlight was not shining upward where it might possibly agitate more of the creatures. The two Ul-Mor shuffled over towards some rocks as well, holding their stone axes ready in case there was another attack. Looking along the cavern, Starshot spotted another passage leading out, more or less directly across from the one they had entered from and about the same distance away.
  5. GM Starshot's blast of plasma caught two of the creatures in its path, both of which burst into flames and plummeted to the cave floor after brief shrieks of pain. From behind a stalagmite she had hidden behind, Soreen leveled her blaster pistol at one of the creatures, scoring a dead center hit with her blast. The blast sent the creature careening off to one side where it also crashed to the rocky floor in a heap. The two Ul-Mor each took a step forward and threw spears into the air, each aiming at the two remaining creatures that were diving toward the group. One of the octopi creatures managed to bury its spear into one of the pair, causing it to fall from the air as well, but the second Ul-Mor missed with its throw. The last creature swooped down toward Soreen, but missed her as she ducked behind her cover. It was starting to regain altitude when Laark fired, striking it in its back and putting it down as well. Dozens of other creatures continued to flutter about up near the cavern ceiling, but no others appeared to have any interest in attacking those that had disturbed them. Instead they focused on moving out of the light and back into the shadows and darkness.
  6. Okay, will say you are able to catch two in the blast, they both miss their reflex saves. They are not very tough and also miss their toughness saves so go down. Soreen manages to hit one with a 17 and it also misses its save and is down. The two Ul-Mor throw spears, one missing, the other hitting. The one that hits takes down its target. That leaves one opponent left, that goes after Soreen, but it misses badly. As it is flying away, Laark takes a shot, and he hits with a 15, and while his target gets a 17 on its toughness save, it is still taken down.
  7. Round One 24 Starshot (Unhurt, HP 2) 21 Soreen (unharmed) 16 Ul-Mor (2) (unharmed) 8 Flitters (5) (unharmed) 2 Laark (unharmed) You have initiative.
  8. Okay, Starshot has stirred up some hornets, so to speak. Time for some initiatives.
  9. GM Starshot's flare exploded into life high above the cavern floor, flooding the upper portions of the cavern with light. Amid the stalactites and other rocky formations that covered the cavern's ceiling, there were dozens of long shapes that hung from the rocks. As the area was flooded with light those forms took to the air, briefly a confusing mass of shapes and leathery wings that moved in every direction. Most seemed to make their way out of the light and to other darkened areas, but several dove down towards Starshot and his group. As they approached, Starshot could see they were vaguely batlike, with similar wings but more triangular heads, wide eyes and long thin bodies that ended in a forked tail. By a quick estimate, he believed they had four foot wingspans and a slightly longer body length.
  10. "I would say it has all been rather good." Susan replied as she tracked Erick's movements across the room. Before she was able to respond to his initial question about the guitar she let out a bit of a laugh at his second comment about the family traveling around the countryside as a family band. Dee smiled slightly as Erick caught a hint of a tear in the corner of an eye at the sight of her sister's brightened mood. "The thought of our parents owning something like a camper is enough of a stretch, but them ‘romping’ around as a family band, I can imagine little more impossible." Susan stated, a small smile on her face as well. She then looked at the guitar as she added. "But yes, I do play. Like Dee I had a more classical musical education when we were young, but…after coming here I was able to expand to other areas. It often helps me calm myself when the medication dosage does not do enough." She then considered Erick's comments about his generally attitude toward attachment. "That sounds like a rather lonely way to go through life. I am glad you felt things were different with Dee." She replied, looking over to her sister. "And I am pretty sure you do not need to tell her anything about how you feel."
  11. That can catch all three. Kazzan attempts a reflex save and gets about as bad as he can with a 16. But, with Evasion 2, he still only takes half effect even with the miss. For his DC: 21 toughness save he gets a 22, so manages emerge unhurt still. So I am not sure the Jaas hunter ever fully reveled himself, but will say his last mental blast reveled him to Roulette. Not an agile one, he misses his Reflex save with a 14. For the DC 26 toughness save he gets a 24, so picks up a bruise. The large hunter is also not very agile and only gets a 12 on his save (they all rolled pretty badly). He gets a 23 toughness save vs DC 26 save, so picks up another bruise.
  12. GM "I would not be at all surprised if there is lead or some other similar metals in these rocks." Soreen responded as she moved along behind Starshot. "Who knows what other properties might be present that could mess with the X-rays." The group continues along the path Starshoot chose, none one speaking up for either of the other two options. The middle path continues on for a couple of kilometers, turning slightly south about halfway along before turning to the northeast once more. It was while the group was headed in that direction that the passage opened into a larger cavern which the group's lights were not powerful enough to see across. A few high pitched squeaks echoed from the cavern, breaking the general stillness of the cavern. Starshot also thought he could hear a faint fluttering.
  13. Okay, making note of who is trapped within Barrier’s forcefields and who is not: Not trapped: Kazzan; Jaas hunter; Bliss; Roulette; Large Hunter; Sniper (whom most people are not really aware of yet) Trapped: Melee hunter; Ruby Who all is Roulette targeting HGM?
  14. Dee glanced over at Erick and gave him a slight smirk. "Don't get too big a head, you were just the first which did not require coming up with some complicated lie about why Susan was here." She replied with a teasing tone. While the statement was true, it was far from the sole reason Dee had never shared this part of her life before. A fact that Susan was all too willing to voice. "Don't listen to her. She's too wrapped up in her tough girl image to admit when she is opening up the painful important parts of her life." Susan stated as she took Erick's hand and shook it. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well Erick, Dee has told me some about you."
  15. So, I would be up for joining the Vanguard thread if others want to continue it. I am also up for continuing Age of Aquarian, and as mentioned in chat, we would only be down Rav. As for Revanche: Under the Sword, I had thought that it might be best to just put the Revanche threads out to pasture and handle that storyline by Guidebook pages (given that some people are now gone, like Dark, Vahn and Rav), but I would be up for at least finishing up that thread if everyone else wants to (and maybe even continuing on the Revanche stories if there is enough interest).
  16. GM Both Laark and Soreen had packed lights in their gear, the former one that attached to his blaster rifle, while Soreen had a work light that attached to her harness and sat on her right shoulder. Both had those on as they finished gathering their gear and fell into line behind Starshot and the two Ul-Mor as the group began down the passage to the right. Startshot's HUD and navigation systems were working well enough, but he quickly noted that something in the cave walls prevented him from seeing through them. The group moved down the side passage several hundred meters without any incident when they reached a three way fork. They could continue more or less straight on, or take another side passage to either the left or right.
  17. Paradgim, would be up for being involved, assuming she would not throw things too out of wack.
  18. Hey HGM! I am getting back into things as well! Like many, I am not entirely sure which threads with me you are talking about
  19. GM Caverns beneath the burning lands can be treacherous, but still safer than traveling on surface. The Ul-Mor responded to Starshot’s questions. The two glanced back over at the cave in, where the other Ul-Mor was tapping on the rocks with its spear. After a few moments, a faint taping could be heard from the other side. The Ul-Mor near the rocks looked back toward its companion near Starshot and gave several gestures with some tentacles. Tribe appears to be unharmed. The first Ul-Mor informed Starshot through the telepathic link. But we will need to take another route to meet up with tribe at Place of True Warriors. It added, pointing off towards the side passage to the right of the cave in. I am Kahai, and this is Fonn-Ar. The Ul-Mor added.
  20. GM The two Ul-Mor both carried the crude spears and axes their race favored in some of their tentacles, but they were not brandishing them in a threatening manner and appeared more focused on the cave in than Starshot or his crew. As one of the pair moved over toward the massive pile of rocks, the other approached Starshot, its weapons lowered at the invitation to communicate telepathically. While still not completely familiar with the biology of the Ul-Mor, Starshot had the impression that this and the other Ul-Mor were younger members of the clan, given they were a bit less adorned with the primitive jewelry and feathers than other members of the tribe and had less of the tattoo like markings as well. Reaching up with one tentacle, the Ul-Mor connected with Starshot's mind. Are Star-the-Shot and his companions unhurt?
  21. So....I have been inactive awhile, but I think things are getting to a calm enough point that I can get back into some regular posting (if not as much posting as I used to do). First thing I was looking to get back into working on was the Praetorians and space. So, who all is still around from the Praetorians? Tiff? Olopi? Ex? Ari? Anyone else? Any new players that might be interested in making a space character and joining? Once I get an idea of who all is still around I will look at getting something going for us, as well as updating some guidebook pages to account for the storyline that I was trying to run before I got to busy to post (ie the return of Star Khan).
  22. GM Starshot's flare blazed to life up toward the top of the section of the cavern where he and his crew had been racking out. The bright light cast long shadows through the area, but provided enough light for Starshot to see that both Laark and Soreen were unharmed, though still slightly disoriented from just waking up to the loud crashing of rocks and then the sudden bright light of the flare. Both made verbal responses as the started getting up and taking in the scene. The light of the flare revealed that the cave in had occurred toward the middle of the chamber, between where Starshot and his crew had set up their makeshift camp and where the Ul-Mor camp had been set up. It was impossible to tell from this side of deep the cave in went. The passages the group had taken to this cavern were still open behind them, as was another passage off to the right of the chamber. As Starshot and his crew were getting their bearings, a pair of Ul-Mor that had been guarding the cavern behind them came into the chamber to investigate the sound and the light from the flare.
