Paradigm "I am afraid our limited number of spacecraft are either all in use for missions or needed here in case a new situation arises which requires a response from the Praetorians." Paradigm replied as she and Barrier walked along side Sphere back toward the hanger that in which the Silver Bullet was currently docked. Once they were aboard, the Naram took the pilots seat of the shuttle, quickly preparing it for departure from the station. At the offer of the Oogian bandy, Amara shook her head. "I thank you for the offer, but alcoholic beverages are of no effect on me."

So, was looking into what you had indicated in chat as Bliss action, and I realize there was little point to her performing a fast startle on the bounty hunter that hit her, as startle just reduces the target's defense, and if you were planning to use shockwave, there is not attack roll. So, let me know if you just want to go with the shockwave and forget the fast startle.

Paradigm Amara Val-Ren had watched the small sphere with interest after it had been directed to her after requesting admission into the Praetorian’s headquarters on CoVic Station. The Naram was dressed in the costume she wore as Paradigm, the Imperatrix of the Praetorians, a full length white bodysuit with black diamonds patterns on the shoulders, upper chest and back, which were surrounded by golden yellow trim. Black gloves covered each hand, going up almost the length of each forearm, and her black boots went halfway up her calves, each with similar golden yellow trim. A long black cape draped down her back toward the ground. Although it had only been a few standard galactic years since she had been revived from cryogenic sleep on the Curator's ring world, Paradigm had heard of the eccentric Lor artist Lexa. But her familiarity with Lexa was primarily in passing, given the relative lack of leisure time since the end of the Incursion. She also was generally familiar with Nocturne, a rogue planet that was something of a small tourist attraction. Once again she had not had much in the way of time to venture toward the path of the rogue world, she did have an interest in galactic cartography, given her ability to travel among the stars under her own power. When she had first become a Praetorian, Amara had been able to just fill the role of one of the many powerful defenders for the ancient empire they defended, able to focus on the missions assigned her and leaving the missions behind during down times while she waited for the next. But since she and the surviving ancient Praetorians had been awoken in this millennium by the Curator, she had found herself in a position of leadership that had formally belong to her elder brother and other senior Praetorians. As a result, not only was she having to constantly focus on the current threats and missions to which she assigned Praetorians, but she was called upon more and more to act in a more diplomatic role. However, this invitation was a bit more unusual than many of the events she found herself attending. "Greetings Sphere, I am Amara Val-Ren, also known as Paradigm, current Imperatrix of the Praetorians." She replied with a slightly formal tone, giving the small device a slight bow in greeting. "We are honored by Lexa's invitation to this event, and would be privileged to attend as the Praetorian representatives."

GM Up on the top of the now grounded space yacht, Pheydyn manage to just dodge to one side as Traveller fired her power pike, causing the beam to narrowly miss him, although it burned a hole in the loose robes he wore. Glancing down at the smoking hole in one of the sleeves, he looked back up at Traveller. "I had grown rather fond of these robes." A short distance away, Dragonid was a bit surprised as Zadvian continued to withstand their combined attacks, agilely getting back to his feet with a quick move. The more he watched the F'terrix in action, the more he was reminded of Raark, the Praetorian who had overseen his training as a new Praetorian so many centuries ago. The reptilian Praetorian snarled slightly. "You are a tough one, I do acknowledge that, you remind me of someone I knew long ago, a pity you tarnish his legacy with your criminal behavior!" With that, Dragonid let lose another jet of flame from his mouth, this time squarely hitting the criminal with the blast that sent Zadvian flying backward, his fur smoking as he crashed to the ground and lay still, finally out of the fight. Even as one the number of escaped criminals continued to dwindle, the remaining ones in the fight pressed on, the glowing energy barrier around Cor suddenly reshaping into a ramp that led up to Mater Vyrdna as the large alien came running up, swinging his glowing club of psychic energy. The large weapon slammed into Vyrdna, hitting her with a powerful impact…

Unfortunately that is a miss (but was close). Dragonid will attack Zadvian, getting a 28! which is a critical hit, so DC 32 toughness save for Zadvian, who only gets a 13, so he is down! This brings us to…. Round Fifteen 22 Cor (bruised) 22 Cavalier (bruised, 3 HP) 21 X'Madi (bruised) 21 Mater Vyrdna (bruised, 2 HP) 21 Moon-Moth (dazed and bruised, 0 HP) 21 Seresk (unharmed) 20 Rux (unharmed) 14 Corona (bruised, 1 HP) 13 Paradigm (bruised 3, 1 HP) 12 Pheydyn (unharmed) 8 Traveller (bruised 3, 4 HP) 4 Dragonid (Unharmed) Cor will reshape his force constructs, creating a ramp up to where Mater Vyrdna is and move up to attack her, hitting with a 29, which is a hit, DC 25 toughness save for Mater! Cavalier is up!

GM Pheydyn turned his focus toward Moon-moth as Paradigm closed with X'Madi. The alien psychic regarding the Praetorian for a moment and then gave a small smile. "You Praetorians certainly come in a wide variety of forms. Truly worthy opponents, but unfortunately you stand between us and our freedom." With that Pheydyn sent a blast of pure psychic energy at Moon-moth's mind..

Pheydyn will give Moon-Moth a mental blast, so that is a DC 25 Will save Ex! Tiff, Traveller is now up!

GM Lady Tal'gar had been studying the members of the crowed as they passed with a steady gaze. When Corona spoke, the noblewoman turned toward the Lor officer. "Is it customary to insult diplomatic guests while escorting them through the station?" She asked with a cool tone. "Should we expect similar discourtesy along with any assistance the Republic might choose to provide?" If he heard the exchange between the Tal'gar and Corona, Ambassador Raal did not acknowledge it, instead casualty studying the various buildings erected around the main plaza and the man inhabitants crowding this section of the station. "The Coalition has indeed transformed this once terrible place into a grand symbol of unity and cooperation." He commented to Paradigm. Nearby, Justicar Vor followed after the ambassador and the Praetorians' Imperatrix, the armored figure methodically scanning the crowds around the group, clearly watching for any possible threat. The Khanate soldiers with the group also kept a cautious eye on the crowds, although their weapons were holstered.

Paradigm Paradigm gave a small smile as a barrage of mystical energy lanced through the air near Pheydyn and Moon-Moth moved near to assist her. "He is all yours old friend." She replied as she focused her attention on X'Madi as Corona’s amplified voice carried over the battlefield, trying to get the teleporter to stand down. The Naram respected the Lor officer's tenacity, and understood the need to provide these opponents with the opportunity to surrender, but she was not quite as sure that the situation had moved so solidly in the Praetorians' favor that Rux or any others might consider surrender. There were still a number of the supercriminals still in the fight, and the city was still in chaos as the police drones unleashed by X'Madi were still running amok, taking the attention of some of the other Praetorians that could have been helping capture the escaped criminals. The Praetorian then flew forward toward ring leader of this escape, determined to smash through her telekentic forcefield. Paradigm covered the distance in an instant, kicking up dust as she passed, one powerful fist shooting forward toward X'Madi in a blur. However, the rogue Lor mentat was quickly to react, pulling back as Paradigm swung, and between that movement and her forcefield, the powerful attack was deflected away.

Paradigm is going to fly forward to attack X'Madi now that Moon-Moth has called dibs on Phyedyn. She misses with a 12 on her attack roll, which misses badly.

TA, Bliss currently has 2 hero points, so she could use one to remove the Daze effect if you so choose.

guide gab Freedom League lineup and role
Thevshi replied to Ari's topic in The Lighthouse: Catchphrase!
That is probably a bit poorly worded Nick. The discussion in PM has been about what the players of the current Aux members want for their characters. From there the discussion on any additional members of a core FL and new FL Aux lineup will be discussed publicly (as AA has started for new Aux members). -
Moved to archives at player request.

Tea and Biscuits They Grow Up So Fast Those two threads contain the summaries of events in other threads that pretty much sums up the deal with Lawrence/Collapse.
-
I am totally with you there Heri! I would note that Lawrence, though young, is pretty smart and has a fair bit of Quickness/Time Control so that well thought out moves could seem hasty. Also, let me know if you want me to link you to anything that could give you (Lynn) some background on Robert/Lawerence/Collapse, as I imagine Megan and Lynn have talked about it off screen before.
-
"Having an opportunity to see what you opponent might be planning can certainly be an advantage." Lawrence replied calmly as he studied the board for a moment before reaching out to move one of his pawns. "But, having to be the one to react to your opponent can also force you into a strategy you might not otherwise want to follow." He then added as he looked up at Gretchen and waited for her to move. Out on the patio, Megan nodded slightly as Lynn talked about how it had been trying to readjust to coming back to this dimension. The blonde speedster still found it somewhat hard to believe that her former teammate Colt was gone, dying a natural death after a long life with Lynn in his home dimension. But she had an understanding of what Lynn had gone through, having herself spent what had been six years from her viewpoint outside the timestream. But where sometime had passed here for Lynn, Megan had returned with hardly any time having passed. She and Lynn had swapped alternate dimension/outside time stories on other "catching up" visits. She smiled when Lynn talked about being with Gretchen now, happy for her friend. "Well first, I can think of a lot of things you have done to deserve being so happy again. But more importantly, I tend to reject the notion that anyone has to do some great deed to deserve a chance to be happy." She replied before taking a sip of her wine. "I am very happy to hear you have been adjusting and things are going so well with Gretchen." Megan then added. "As for me, things are good. Robert and I still have not finalized a wedding date, but from our perspective, we don't feel too rushed. Lawrence has been doing well at the Nicholson School, and we have been keeping an eye out for...any signs of the problems with his alternate selves." The blonde woman then shrugged, not wanting to dwell too long on the subject of her sons in other timelines, at least not today. "Other than that, I have tried to keep myself busy working with some charity foundations in the city, and, you know, saving the world here and there."

Actually you get three PCs slots to start out, two PL 10 (150 PP) and one PL 7 (105 PP). Let us know what you want done with the character Ghostlion, (ie either archived or reviewed for approval). On thing I would say, is why stick the alien character on Earth? We have tried to expand more stories into space and there are a couple of active space-based superteams.

guide gab Freedom League lineup and role
Thevshi replied to Ari's topic in The Lighthouse: Catchphrase!
While we do not need to drop Johnny Rocket (as you say durf, he is still rather young), if we wanted to, one way would be to say that his powers started to fade for some reason or another. I have no strong view either way, although as AA points out, we do have established PC speedsters. As for leadership role, I would vote Bowman, as you noted before (and I did as well either here or elsewhere), he has a history as a leader, and the years on the League to make taking on that role a logical one. So, if we are reaching a consensus on this, how do we want to move forward with it? -
guide gab Freedom League lineup and role
Thevshi replied to Ari's topic in The Lighthouse: Catchphrase!
I think your confusing things there Vahn. What you are quoting from Gizmo is about a NEW NPC team that works for the government, not a restructured Freedom League that is more PC focused. As I understand what Giz is saying that NPC team would operate separate from the League and be the potentially semi-adversarial group that PCs sometimes butt heads with. I agree Giz that we should not go full-blown Justice League Unlimited (where the heroes are all under one umbrella and have little to no say in things). I don't think there is anything you say that I really disagree with Giz. Several of the Aux are already pretty "big guns" (both Fleur and Velocity are PL 15s), but there certainly is room for some additions. -
Vahn, the discussion around this has moved in something of a different direction in another thread. For a start we are trying to figure out what roll we want for the Freedom League in our setting and whether it should be more PC focused.
