  1. Soreen drew her blaster as she looked in the direction Starshot was aiming Trigger, trying to see any sign of the creature that was approaching from underground. As she did so, she shifted her feet, preparing to try to leap away should it come bursting out of the sand at her. As fast as Starshot was at drawing Trigger, the creature in the sand was faster, tunneling quickly at them and veering toward Laark at the last moment. The sand near the large alien burst upward as the creature broke the surface, its large wedge shaped mouth opening wide to revel long, wicked teeth. It clamped down on Laark's right hip, causing him to cry out in pain as it lifted him off the ground and then flung him off to one side.
  2. Round One 21 Soreen (unharmed) 20 Sand Shark (unharmed) 14 Starshot (unharmed, 1 HP) 9 Laark (unharmed) So, Soreen will take the full defense action as she draws her blaster, waiting for the creature to appear. The Sand Shark goes after Laark, hitting with a 22. Laark has a DC 23 toughness save, and gets a 11, so he is staggered, disabled and dazed! Starshot is up!
  3. Seika easily ascended the tree she had selected, reaching the upper branches that were above the main canopy of the jungle. It was much brighter up there, with more sunlight shining down on the broad leaves of the treetops. Seika could see the Lor flier hovering up above the area, doing its best to keep an eye on the pair below. Looking out at the area around them, Seika had a bit of trouble seeing through the jungle canopy, but one thing that did notice was the absence of any of the avian creatures they had spotted during their trip out here. Looking to where the rocky cliffs continued on higher, Seika could also make out what looked like some cave entrances toward the base, but it was difficult to make out any details due to the trees and foliage.
  4. GM Although Magnetar had an attack that could target several of the enemies at once, it was rather indiscriminant and could cause damage to the interior structure itself. So, the Praetorian simply fired a single magnetic blast at one of the Grue that had shot at him and knocked it unconscious. The remaining aliens all drew blasters as well, two of them firing at Queenie while the three others fired on Magnetar as well. Although one of the blasts hit Queenie, this time her forcefield easily turned it away. One of the others managed to hit Magnetar as well, but once again his forcefield stopped the attack completely.
  5. Magnetar targets one of the Grue that shot him (Taking 10 to hit) and the Grue misses its save and is out. The five grunts open fire on Queenie and Magnetar (2/3): 6, 20, 6, 24, 13. So Queenie is hit, but it glances off her impervious. Magnetar is hit and gets a 22 on his toughness save and is fine. Round Two 21 Queenie (unharmed, 1 HP) 18 Insectoid (unharmed) 15 Tough Alien (unharmed) 14 Grue drones (4 in total, minions) 13 Seresk (unharmed) 9 Paradigm (unharmed, 3 HP) 6 Magnetar (unharmed) 5 Grunt aliens (4 in total, minions) Queenie is up!
  6. "Well done Queenie." Paradigm commented as the Terran took out one of the criminals with her opening attack. The Naram then flew over toward the group of Grue that had shot at her. Although they had not hurt her, and likely could not, they could still possibly be dangerous to Queenie and Magnetar. Paradigm delivered a powerful punch that knocked the first Grue backward, slamming into the second and sending them both tumbling to the ground unconscious. She then backhanded the third Grue that had fired on her, knocking it off its feet as well to slam into the side of the spacecraft the criminals had been loading.
  7. Paradigm will fly over to a group of Grue and Take 10 to attack one. The Grue misses its save so is out, Paradigm uses Takedown Attack to hit the next, which also misses its save. She then hits the third, and it misses as well.
  8. GM Queenie was right that none of the aliens present understood what she was saying, although her actions certainly delivered a message for her, as her blast struck the alien with the staff squarely. The blast knocked it off its feet and sent it flying backward into the opposite wall, where it collapsed to the ground unconscious. The others gathered reacted quickly, the insectoid alien drawing a blaster weapon from a harness it wore over its shell and aiming at Queenie. A blast of energy streaked through the room, hitting the heroine squarely. The towering alien rushed right toward Seresk, who Paradigm had dropped down to the ground as they rounded the corner. The other alien swung a huge fist at Seresk, who easily ducked underneath. Seresk wasted no time in swinging his long, club-like tail around to try and hit the other alien. But the other alien managed to just step back and avoid the club-like end of the Praetorian's tail. The Grue drones all dropped the containers they were moving and drew blasters of their own, opening fire on Queenie, Paradigm and Magnetar. The two blasts aimed at Queenie missed the glowing heroine, while two attacks hit Paradigm, but glanced harmlessly off her. All three of the Grue that fired on Magnetar managed to hit the Praetorian, but his forcefield managed to absorb all three blasts.
  9. The insectoid draws a weapon and shoots at Queenie, hitting with a 27. That is a DC 23 toughness save for Queenie. The tough alien will charge Seresk, who Paradigm dropped down, but misses with a 12. The Grue drones draw blaster pistols, opening fire at all the heroes not in melee (2 on Queenie, 3 on Paradigm and 3 on Magnetar): 19, 14. 8, 23, 24, 19, 22, 22. Both miss Queenie, two hit Paradigm (her impervious stops) and three hit Magnetar, DC 20 toughness saves for him: 22, 27, 29, he makes them all just fine. Seresk tries to hit the tough alien who attacked him, just missing with a 15.
  10. We should probably roll initiatives for this scene.
  11. Soreen took out a pair of macrobinoculars from her pack and took a look at the distant mountains. "Yeah, they look like some kind of crystal like mineral, but what exactly it is impossible to tell from here." She stated before putting the macrobinoculars back in her pack and shrugging it back onto her shoulders as they started off once more. The air started to warm as the blue sun continued to rise over the horizon, a hint at the heat that would soon be bearing down on them. The temperature continued to rise as the sun rose in the morning air, the sand starting to shimmer with the reflection of the heat from the ground. It was mid-morning when Starshot spotted movement off to the side, only it was not movement above ground. There was a three meter long creature burrowing quickly through the sand more than a meter below the surface. It had a strange, wedge shaped head and a long body with twelve pairs of short legs. And it was heading straight toward them....

  14. For the most part the others remained quiet during the early part of their expedition. Soreen occasionally grumbled about things, particularly if she stumbled on some rocks or slide on the slope of a dune. Laark soldiered on in silence, more accustomed to such adversity. It turned out the night was about half over when the Xeno had crashed, so after about four hours of trekking through the desert sands, the bright blue sun began to rise in the distance. As the first rays of light began to stretch across the desert sands, Starshot got a glimpse of the distant mountains which had registered strange mineral readings. The sun's light seemed to gleam extra bright off the mountain peaks, at first making Starshot think it might have been snow cover. But as he focused his helmet's binocular vision on the closest mountain, he realized the entire thing appeared to be made of our some sort of massive crystal formation.
  15. GM As Traveller continued on to catch up with Dragonid and Cavallier (who had streaked past the pair to moments earlier), Magnetar unleashed another wide area magnetic blast at the police drones that had come after him and Traveller. The wave of magnetic force slammed into three of the drones, crumpling them with ease and sending them plummeting to the ground. Dragonid grinned slightly as the other two caught up with him. "We have them on the run." He commented, as he turned toward one of the police drones and unleashed a jet of flame from his maw that destroyed the drone in a bright explosion. Back at the Devotion, Huhunu nodded at Corona's instructions, as he led the Lor official into the starship.
  16. Magnetar will target some more of the police drones with his area attack, taking 10 to hit. All three miss their toughness saves and are destroyed. Dragonid will blast another police drone, also taking 10. It misses its toughness save and is destroyed as well. The police drones are not really part of this any longer, so I am removing them from the initiative. Also taking Kharag off as he is back at the Devotion, hurt and out of the fight. Round Ten 27 Huhunu (Unharmed) 22 Cavalier (Unharmed, 3 HP) 21 Mater Vyrdna (Unharmed, 1HP) 21 Moon-Moth (Unharmed, 0 HP) 21 Seresk (unharmed) 20 Rux (unharmed) 19 Sullek (bruised) 15 Adiri (bruised 2, dazed) (2 more rnds falling) 14 Corona (Unharmed, 2 HP) 13 Paradigm (bruised, 1 HP) 8 Traveller (Unharmed, 2 HP) 7 Magnetar (Unharmed) 4 Dragonid (Unharmed) Cav is up TT, and he has a choice. He can easily move over to where Sullek is preparing for his next leap, or he can continue past Sullek toward the governor's offices, where the rest of the bad guys are. If you want to attack Sullek, go ahead with that attack roll, if you want to continue on, let me know and I will tell you what you find.
  17. Okay, neither of these guys can beat those rolls, so both succeed. Eternal Dragon is up GO!
  18. Although Velocity had been busy trying to get the crowds to provide more space and hopefully disperse some, she had been able to keep an eye on what was going on with the lava girl thanks to her visors three hundred and sixty-degree vision. When the young woman was rendered unconscious and caught by Frost, the speedster focused on the crowd once more. "Alright everyone, things are under control. Please stay back until authorities can ensure that the beach is safe to go back on. We will be getting this young woman the help that she needs." With that, Velocity was back over near Fluer and the others in a blur of motion.
  19. Seresk looked down at Moon-Moth at his comments about where they were most likely to find Traveller. The massive reptilian Praetorian, not appearing bothered at all by the humidity, gave a nod. "Indeed, such an establishment is exactly the sort of place Traveller prefers." He glanced around them a moment, then added, "and I believe there is no shortage of such establishments here." The trio continued moving steadily along the thoroughfare they were on, their passage eased by the general desire of the crowd to provide space to stay out of Seresk's way. Eventually the came to a cantina that looked as if it had been there for at least a century, if not longer. A short set of stairs led down to the entrance, which was just below the main street level. The sound of multiple conversations could be heard coming from the doorway. "Shall we begin our search here?" Seresk asked his two fellow Praetorians.
  20. Before Elite could answer Amara's question, the channel to Ambassador Th'emme had been established. "Greetings Ambassador Th'emme, it is Paradigm." Amara began as she turned to regard the Ambassador on a holoscreen that had appeared in the air. "I am sure you have reviewed the broadcast from the Khanate cruiser by now. I had been preparing to lead a number of the Praetorians currently on the station out to intercept, but given the transmission, I am holding any action for the moment until I had contacted you and the other embassies to determine if there was any intention of granting the requested audience."
  21. OOC for this thread!
  22. Kestevan 79 The Spinal Core, Coalition Victory Station Lor time mark 1482.4 [April 2, 2016 (Terran Calender)] The Voidrunners' work rarely brought them near CoVic Station, as their bounties typically favored the border regions, away from whatever government, organization or individual that was looking for them. But their latest bounty had required them to make the delivery to CoVic Station, so now they had the rare chance to take in the thriving galactic hub that had arisen in the aftermath of the Incursion. Currently, they were making their way into the Spinal Core. The Spinal Core was a section of CoVic Station that had developed as the central market place, filled with business and shops. Its named derived from the fact that it was built along the inside of a hundred-meter-wide shaft that descended deep into the lower levels of the station from the section where most of the embassies and other governmental facilities had been established. With the somewhat hasty construction that had taken place in making parts of CoVic Station habitable, the engineers had not bothered trying to alter the shaft, but had simply set up the artificial gravity generators so that the entire surface of the Spinal Core was covered with two or three story buildings and numerous stalls. Assuming one could find a straight path that went all the way around the interior of the Core, it would have been possible to have starting walking and ending up right back where one had started. While there had been an initial attempt to set out orderly and symmetrical buildings and shops, expansion and additions had quickly sprung up that created twisting and curving avenues. Added to this were numerous small stalls and vendors selling their wares on a mat laid on the ground, making the Spinal Core something of a crowded, fast paced environment where all manner of goods could be found, if one looked hard enough. The Voidrunners had been taking in the sights of the Spinal Core, and taking advantage of the wide array of goods, when the news that a Stellar Khanate warship had emerged from the nearby wormhole and approached the station. As sense of nervousness had come over many in the Core, although they still went about their business as best they could. It lessened somewhat when the news began to spread that apparently the Khanate ship was delivering a diplomatic envoy that was to meet with Ambassador Th'emme and envoys from other intergalactic governments that had embassies aboard the station.
  23. "Are you prepared to surrender now?" Paradigm again asked Adiri. The female criminal looked back at the Praetorian with a scowl. "It will take much more than that to stop me!" At Adiri's refusal to surrender, Paradigm had little choice but to continue to try to subdue the dangerous supercriminal. Once again the Naram's dark yellow eyes turned red and a beam of energy shot forth to strike the plummeting Adiri. This time, the criminal's incredible durability did not do enough to stop the powerful blast, as she grunted in pain and was dazed. That caused Adiri to lose her focus, and her rocky form began to fade, returning her to her normal green haired humanoid form.
  24. Okay, I am going to keep this moving forward, in part because Paradigm is generally removed from everyone else, but also because Corona is waiting for Moon-Moth's teleport. If you want to make a post Rav, feel free (you did just learn some info you might want to share with others!) Paradigm will again attack Adiri with her heat vision (using the base power attack for -2/+2), hitting with a 27! Once again a DC 24 toughness save for Adiri, she gets a 18, so is bruised and dazed. Adiri gets a 7 on her Concentration check, so her rock form shuts off.
  25. Dee gave a faint smile at Erik's comment about back alley doctors. "Well, luckily now you have access to some better doctors that won't ask too many questions." As the two climbed out of the Aston Martin, the Englishwoman gave the hospital a distant look before adding. "Yes, while my parents might have a number of behaviors that I cannot stand, their willingness to spend lots of money can be forgiven at times when it is for something that really matters." The pair made their way to the main entrance of the hospital, which again had significant security before they were allowed through, with passes. They were met by a nurse, who accompanied them into one wing of the hospital. "I am afraid your sister has been having a rough time in the last week Lady Farrington. Hopefully your visit will brighten her up some." The woman stated as they made their way through the quiet halls of the hospital.
