  1. Okay, gave Gamer some time, but we should move on. Round Two 25 Bonfire (unharmed, 1 HP) 22 Eternal Dragon (bruised, 1 HP) 21 Ice Thug (unharmed) 14 Fire Thug (unharmed) 10 Lightning Thug (bruised 2) Bonfire is up!
  2. Okay, the melee fighter makes his toughness save, and gets a 9, so he is out.
  3. Laark took up a position at the rear of the small group, being the second most experienced at survival and field work. Soreen willingly took her place in between the two as they started off. The HUD of Starshot's helmet provided him the direction they needed to go to at least be moving in the general direction of the lake. The only question is when they might find some other terrain feature that would allow them to more accurately determine their position. For the most part the cool night air was still, with only an occasional gust of wind blowing by and carrying sand with it. The ground beneath their feet was rather soft, a sign that it likely was rather deep, but occasionally they crossed harder, rocky surface that jutted up from the dunes. Two small moons were visible in the night sky, providing a fair bit of moonlight in the otherwise dark desert.
  4. QUEEN AND COUNTRY'D BY HGM Synapse has 2 unspent points, going to use both; One for Benefit: Member of Vanguard The other for Super-Sense (Communications Link [mental] with Foreshadow II) [1 pp]
  5. "Well, if we are not staying here, we can power down everything but the airlock power. It will be a really minor drain unless we are opening and closing the airlock a lot." Soreen replied before she set about powering systems down. Laark immediately set about gathering up supplies for the trip. The muscular alien grabbed a large pack, which he began to fill with rations and water. He then added several sheets of canvas material and some rope, along with a number of tall poles. "For shelter from sun." He explained to Starshot. Adding some other miscellaneous gear, the pack was soon full, and Laark gathered up the large club that was his primary weapon (a blaster pistol hung at his hip) and moved toward the main airlock. Soreen met the pair there, having shut down all other systems. She had her blaster pistol on, and had a pack on her back as well, although much smaller than Laark's.
  6. After Ruby called back to update Roulette, the three Voidrunners made their way further down the canyon, looking for the easiest possible way of getting back up to higher ground where the other crash sites would be. They went almost a mile further down the canyon, before they found a slightly easier section of cliff wall that would get them up to higher ground. As an expert climber, Seika immediately began to climb, the Kahi'iru steadily ascending the cliff face. Ruby knew there was no way she would be able to climb the cliffs, luckily Bliss was able to eliminate that problem. The Xuli'pa used her cybernetic tendrils to climb up to small ledges, then pulling Ruby up and leaving her clinging to one before moving up to another. Soon, all three were up at the top of the cliff, finding themselves in a temperate forest with tall trees that towered close to a hundred feet in the air. The undergrowth was somewhat sparse, scattered about among the towering trees, thickest around areas where light was able to get through the high canopy.
  7. So if anyone has any more comments on the current plan, now is the time to make them, otherwise we will be moving forward tonight.
  8. "And it also works out that you are by far the stealthier between us." Giang replied with a faint smile as she took the earbud transmitter Blode offered and put it into her ear. After a comm check to insure they were both receiving, the Asian young woman jumped onto a waterspout she had drawn from various sources around them and rose up into the air and out over the streets in front of city hall before dropping down to a bit lower altitude. Coming to a halt a short distance from Madame Marvelous, Tsunami stood on the waterspout, looking down at the theatrical villainess. "Good afternoon Madame Marvelous, I am Tsunami. What is it you want?"
  9. "Well, it is not everyday that the once believed dead son of one of the founders of a company like Draco Enterprises makes his return to his family's company." Stone replied with a small smile as they left the public relations area. "They are busy setting up a press conference for you later this week, which I am sure they will go over with you when you sit down with them." Stone then looked at his watch as they returned to Jason's new office. "Well, it is probably time I take my leave. You have a busy schedule ahead of you," he indicated the person from IT that was currently waiting for Jason, "so I will leave you to it. I will talk with you later this afternoon." With that, Stone left, as Jason and the individual from IT went into his office so he could get set up with his system access and familiar with the company's systems.

"That sounds like quite an interesting auction item." Robert responded with a hint of interest at Jen's mention of the Roadster she had restored and upgraded. "Of course, Megan would be less than excited if I were to consider picking up such vehicle." He then added with a smile at the blonde young woman. Megan took a drink from her glass of champagne as she returned a smile of her own. "Well, unfortunately sports cars tend to be a bit disappointing. Of course I don't hold that against any of you." She added, giving Jen a grin. "But more seriously I am not sure we need any more cars right now, even if we might have space for them."
  11. As the first two heroes on the scene got a better look at the three figures that had unleashed the barrage of energy attacks, they saw what appeared to be three men in regular clothes and a ski mask, wearing what looked like oversized technological gauntlets on each hand that appeared to be the source of their powers. But the heroes wasted little time trying to stop the powered criminals. First Bonfire's smoke attack washed over the three criminals, injuring the one that had fired the bolt of electricity. The other two criminals managed to avoid damage from the attack. Eternal Dragon leapt into action next, executing an incredible acrobatic flip off the rooftop he had been on and into the street. He also hit the lighting wielding criminal with a ki blast, the attack injuring the man further, but he still remained on his feet. The criminal that had fired the blast of ice at a police car reacted first to the attack from two superpowered crimefighters. "We got trouble." He shouted over his shoulder, as he moved away from his two companions, appearing to try to create space to avoid the possibility of getting caught in another single smoke attack like before. At the same time, he sent a blast of ice up at Bonfire's smoky form, the freezing cold attack hitting the hero. The fire wielding criminal moved out away from the hole in the wall a short distance as well, sending another blast of flame at the already burning cop car, intensifying the flames already present. The increased heat caused the cops behind the car to move a short distance away and take other cover. The lightning wielding criminal focused on Eternal Dragon, the last crime fighter to hurt him as he sent a bolt of electricity at the martial arts hero and hitting him squarely.
  12. Okay, the Ice Thug will attack Bonfire, hitting with a 22. So DC 27 toughness save for Bonfire (due to your vulnerability!) The Fire Thug will shoot at the police car he hit before, causing the cops to fall back more. Then the Lighting Thug will attack Eternal, hitting with a 20, so he needs to make a DC 23 toughness save as well. I am going to give Gamer a bit more time (till noon West Coast time tomorrow) to check in before I start the next round. Go ahead and post your toughness saves while we wait.
  13. GO, yes, that was a rather impressive bit of acrobatics (combined with leaping) to get back to street level. That also hits easily, he gets a 21 on his toughness save, so picks up a second bruise. Go ahead with your IC post!
  14. The ship was not able to make an accurate reading of where it ended up, but it could be between 100-200 kilometers to the lake, sections of the jungle/forest could be 50 kilometers closer.
  15. I think you misunderstood one of my prior IC posts, the cargo door never opened more than a very little bit, and it is now buried behind a mound of sand that leaked in, so you still cannot get the ATV out.
  16. "Those systems are fine." Soreen replied over the comm. "The problem is power. Running them requires draining the reserve batteries." "Besides some other minor damage that I can deal with, or just ignore till we get to a spacedock, the real problem is the power core and engines. Both need repairs that I cannot do without some parts, which we don't have." Looking at the sensor readings taken while the Xeno was going down Starshot found at least some measure of good news. While the desert in the region they crashed in was not small, desert was not the only terrain in the area. Along the southern edge of the desert was an ocean. Bordering the northeastern edge of the desert was areas covered with more vegetation, including a large forested area. Toward the middle of this forested area was a large lake with a couple of small islands. There were also a number of rocky, mountainous areas along the borders of the desert (particularly to the northwest, west and eastern edges). These seemed to be a mix of rocky, barren areas, to areas with a considerable amount of volcanic activity. Past beyond the volcanic regions to the eastern edge of the desert was a mountainous region made up of some unusual mineral that Starshot was not sure about. Life signs were scattered throughout the area the Xeno had been able to scan, the largest concentration being around the forested region and surrounding areas that also had significant vegetation. There were scattered life signs within the desert, a number clustered together in what could be herds, or perhaps some sort of collection of humanoids, if any were native to this planet. But perhaps one of the most promising things picked up by the Xeno's sensors was some sort of structure located along the northeastern corner of the desert, right next to the large lake. The only signs of technology that sensors had picked up in this region were coming from there.
  17. Sure thing!
  18. Just be aware that Hero Lab does not always comply with our House Rules
  19. Spacecowboy, That can make it pretty hard. One option is to look at some of the sample characters out there. Here are a number of sample character builds for some core archetypes. If there is one that interests you, we would certainly be happy to help in making any tweaks to fit what you want. There are also a lot of other sample characters in some of the Character Building threads that are set up for people to be able to use as a core template to work off of. Hop into chat to ask any questions you might have. And welcome to the site!
  20. Right now they are all clumped together, so easy to catch them all in the area attack. Okay, rolling in the order of Ice/Fire/Lighting, they all miss their Reflex saves with: 10, 16 and 6. For toughness saves they get: 11, 27 and 20, so Fire made his and Lighting just got a bruise. I am going to reroll Ice's badly botched save (HP for Bonfire) and he gets a 15, which because the dice roll was a 7 is increased to 17, so he got a 25, so makes his save. Elemental Dragon is up GO!
  21. So one thing I should note: the sensor log should have information that you were not able to fully analyze back when you were crashing (from when you used the sensors to scan the area).
  22. As Starshot ordered him to get back and up onto the ATV, Laark wasted little time moving as instructed. Both he and Starshot were able to quickly move out of the path of the thin stream of sand that was now pouring down from the slightly opened cargo door. They were just starting to climb up the large wheels when it became apparent that the sand was not going to spread too far. A large pile accumulated at the base of the cargo door, spreading out away some as it piled higher and higher, but in the end, all that was likely to happen was the cargo door was going to be buried behind a mound of sand which extended only a few feet into the bay.
  23. Okay, in the interest of keeping us moving, I will get us started now. When Gamer gets me an initiative, he can either fall into his place in this round, or arrive at the start of next round. Round One 25 Bonfire (unharmed, 1 HP) 22 Eternal Dragon (unharmed, 1 HP) 21 Ice Thug (unharmed) 14 Fire Thug (unharmed) 10 Lightning Thug (unharmed) So Bonfire is up olopi!
  24. GM The Lighthouse "Well, the choice of Freedom Hall for the interviews is more tied to the fact that both Aquaria Innsmouth and Jessie White are not supposed to leave Freedom City except in limited situations." Star Knight replied. "While we could have requested permission for them to travel up to the Lighthouse, we did not want to cause them any potential problems by making too many requests for such special dispensations." "As for information about them, both have criminal records in Freedom City, but have been granted early parole from their sentences after completing a rehabilitation program designed for superpowered individuals." The Freedom League member continued as she and the two Praetorians continued their casual walk through the station toward the teleportation platform. "Aquaria is a member of a native species of Earth called 'Deep Ones,' who are aquatic and primarily live in Earth’s oceans. Deep Ones are not particularly numerous, but a number of them attacked Freedom City several years ago. Aquaria was not involved in that incident. The crimes for which she was arrested involved some small thefts as well as a conflict with police and a superhero named Nereid." "Jessie is an alternate dimension version of the superhero known as Wander. She was responsible for a large number of deaths in that alternate dimension, while under the control of others. As I understand it, she had been put through extensive psychic torture and brainwashing while in that dimension. She was sent to this dimension along with a number of other superpowered criminals, committing a number of crimes for which she was eventually charged and imprisoned. During that imprisonment, her psyche was rebuilt and she was able to enter Project Freedom and eventually complete the program and be rehabilitated. Like Aquaria, she is currently on parole from her prison term and is under the recognizance of Wander." The three reached the room in the Lighthouse which housed the teleportation pads. Star Knight gestured toward them. "If you could please just join me up on these pads, this is our teleportation system that will take us down to our headquarters in Freedom City." Freedom City Mr. Leonard nodded at Jessie's comment about the Praetorians having no jurisdiction on Earth. "That is correct Jessie, whoever these Praetorians are, they cannot just try to take you. In any event, the Freedom League would not just let them do so if they tried. There are only wanting to learn what they can about your time with this group known as the Spectrum Knights to possible learn something that can help them in stopping the Spectrum Knights still out there committing crimes." Not long after the van had pulled into the underground parking lot, the driver pulled it into a parking spot. Waiting there for them was the familiar armored figure of Deadalus. "Good morning. Thank you both for coming. I am Deadalus, and I will be your escort during your time here." He stated as Jessie, Aquaria and Mr. Leonard exited. "If you will please follow me, we will make our way into Freedom Hall. I have received word that the two Praetorians that will be interviewing you have arrived at the Lighthouse and should be teleporting down shortly."
  25. Laark gave a nod as he braced a shoulder against the heavy metal door and prepared to start pushing. Although he did not understand exactly what Starshot was saying, the intent was plain enough so he began to push at the same time as his boss. At first, it seemed like the door would not budge, even with both Laark and Starshot pushing against it. But after a few moments, it began to move slightly, although there was something that seemed incredibly solid opposing them. As the door managed to crack open ever so slightly, sand began to pour down inside the cargo area.
