As Agnus moved closer toward their target, Dee moved off to one side of the room where she could keep an eye on things. When her partner asked about giving her a "in," a faint smile came to Dee's face as she mentally replied. Oh, I think I can do far better than just give you an in. I will just remove the current distraction. With that, the Enlishwoman fixed her gaze on the redheaded woman speaking with Rafael was speaking to. As she did so, Dee reached out toward the young woman’s mind with her powers. Dee found it rather easy to enter the woman's mind, seeing as it was already rather compromised by the alcohol she had already consumed. From there, it was a simple matter of seizing control of the young woman completely, taking over as the woman had finished a lengthy bit of her idle gossiping. Dee then made the young woman begin to take another sip of her drink, but purposely causing her to appear to accidently spill some of the wine on herself instead. Under Dee's guidance, the redhead was appropriately shocked and embarrassed by her clumsiness, before she quickly excused herself and slipped away to deal with the catastrophe.

As Colonel Ellis arrived with a UNISON agent in two, Synapse gave her a small nod in greeting, noting the Spanish agent for a moment before focusing back on Ellis. The Englishwoman arched an eyebrow slightly when Ellis reveled what she and UNISON was hoping for from the team. "Why does it seem we are always being asked to clean up others’ messes?" Synapse responded, glancing over toward Young Britannia with a knowing look. When the two of them had first become part of the new Vanguard, they had been brought in to help the Ministry deal with what had happened with the old team, which turned out to be a bigger mess than anyone had truly expected. But still, the young woman turned her attention back Ellis, waiting to hear what she and Agent Salazar had to say.

After Thaelia dealt with the last of the sharkmen, Tsunami guided her waterspout over the deck of the research vessel and agilely hopped off the moving water, which continued past and over the side back into the ocean. It took only a brief moment to adjust her balance to the faint movement of the vessel in the water, before Tsunami moved over closer towards her former roommate. "That is unlikely to be an effective way of reviving him." The Asian young woman replied to Thaelia. "Besides, our primary purpose was to create a distraction, which we have done. Shall we make our way below to see if Myrmidon needs any assistance?"

GM As if on cue, one of the doors to the room opened and Colonel Ellis swept into the room, followed closely by a man in his early-forties, with an athletic build, dark brown hair with a slight trace of grey and a dark complexion. Jennifer Ellis was wearing her usual UNISON uniform, and while she moved with purpose and her manner was very businesslike, she certainly seemed more relaxed than the last time the team had been here. "Good morning everyone." Colonel Ellis stated in greeting as she moved to the head of the table. "It is good to see you all again, especially in far better circumstances than our last meeting." "Allow me to introduce Agent Salazar, a former member of the Spanish Centro Nacional de Ingeligencia." She then added, indicating the man who had moved over to one side of the table next to her. "Good morning." Agent Salazar stated, given a small nod of his head and a charming smile. "I am sure you are wondering why UNISON is seeking your assistance." Colonel Ellis then continued. "UNISON is requesting Vanguard's assistance in the capture of four rouge UNISON superagents."

Well, I did not mention those archtypes as indication of all we are looking for, only as some examples of how a new PC could easily fit into the current team. Sides, I gave you an invite for Solar awhile ago.

I have run stuff for Claremonters before, but at the moment there appears to be a number of GM's for running Claremont stuff. Did you have anything specific in mind for TL or SH?

Tsunami continued to circle around the ship on her waterspout, watching as the two remaining shark men rushed Temperance and Glamazon. Luckily both the other women had little difficulty avoiding the attacks, as the one facing Thaelia spoke in Japanese. Moving to a spot where she would be able to attack the shark man facing Temperance without any risk of knocking the creature into her friend, Tsunami turned slightly and brought both hands up in front of her and sent a blast of twisting coils of water toward the shark man. The powerful blast slammed into the creature's side, knocking it off its feet and sending it sprawling on the deck a short distance away. The Asian young woman then glanced over at the remaining shark man as she replied in Japanese, <"When boasting, it would be wise to ensure you can follow through with your claims.">

A few players that have made members of for the Praetorians have either left or are currently inactive. So, we are looking for some new players to make PCs for the space based team. The Praetorians are heavily influenced by DC's Legion of Superheroes and Marvel's Shi'ar Imperial Guard. For those interested, there are two options for a "new" character: 1) they could be one of the original Praetorians, former guardians of a space empire 2,000 years ago and awoken from suspended animation during the Incursion or 2) a new member from the present day that has joined the group post-Incursion. Some archtypes that we are currently missing on the team: Martial Artist Telepath or other Psionic We are also a little light on energy projection/other range based powersets.

Okay, Tsunami will take 10 to hit Samebito 1 (she has precise, so no penalty for it being in melee with Temperance). DC 27 toughness save for it.

Dee Farrington was sitting back in one of the leather chairs around the conference table, her feet up on the table, as relaxed as if she were at home rebuilding a computer or a sports car. The Englishwoman was in her costume as Synapse, the unease she used to have for the costume now a thing of the past. Currently her dark hair was highlighted with a few streaks of bright green. When Erick broke the moment of silence in the room with a joke, Dee gave him a small smile. "I knew there was something I forgot to do last time we were here."" She replied. "But if I had, I would be a bit worried that it took Jennifer so long to call us back in to deal with the issue."

Giang watched with a slight feeling of horror as the Dakuwanga shrugged off her attack and closed with Thaelia, biting into the Atlantean's stomach with its powerful jaws. But Thaelia was as durable as she appeared, probably even more so, and was able to withstand the savage attack and launch a counterattack of her own. The Asian teen ignored Captain Kraken's continued boosting on how he would make off with the creature, choosing instead to focus on stopping the bio weapon and then dealing with the alien pirate. Another blast of twisting coils of water slammed into the Dakuwanga. While Giang's attack appeared to hurt the creature, it was still far from subdued.

Hey Rav! I posted last night in the Deadly Dozen OOC about wanting to get that moving again, and so far at least Ex and Tiff are up for continuing. But, I can certainly work on something more for Corona along with some other Praetorians.

GM UNISON Headquarters Geneva, Switzerland September 4, 2015 10:24 AM local time It had been several months since the members of Vanguard had been at the headquarters for UNISON, when they had joined several other heroes, and even villains, in protecting the base from the Communion until the Uni-Storm space fighters had been able to launch as part of a counteroffensive against the Incursion. The damage the buildings and surrounding town had suffered in that battle had all been repaired, one would not even have known that the battle had taken place now looking about. While the headquarters building was bustling with activity, it was not as hectic and desperate as it had been during that last visit. UNISON personnel were busy going about the daily routine of helping run and coordinate the international agency. Although the members of Vanguard had received a few stares as they had been led through the building toward an upper level conference room, they had been mostly brief. After all, the agency had a great deal of contact with superheroes, including having a number as agents. Today the four members of Vanguard had been led into a conference room with a long rectangular table capable of sitting over a dozen people. The UNISON staff member that had guided them to the room had provided water or other refreshments, then left them alone, stating that Colonel Ellis would be with them shortly.

So, work and other aspects of RL have been demanding all my attention of late. But things have gotten a bit more under control recently, so time for me to get back into some posting. To that end I need to get some new threads going, so am offering to GM some threads for those that are looking for something for a character (or some characters).
-
So…..work (and other elements of RL) reared up and took all my focus for bit there. While work is still busy, it is now more manageable and other things in RL are starting to fall back into a routine, so I should be able to get back to some regular posting. But, we have lost at least one player (possible two, as Lazer has not been on for over a month). Is everyone else up for moving forward? Maybe if we try to pick up a couple new PCs to fill out our numbers again?

Hey Hero Lad, grats on getting started on working on a character. Cleary there is still a lot to work on (all his background and other fluff), but while you did that, I thought I would point out some problems with the mechanics crunch. Combat: There are some issues with his attack and defense, which I discuss down in the feats section. For the moment, I will not comment on Grapple or Knockback, as there might be some changes which effect those. Saves: You cannot buy Toughness this way. If you want to increase your Toughness without improving your Con, you either need to buy the Defensive Roll feat (each rank adding +2 toughness, but can be lost if you are flatfooted) or buy the Protection or Forcefield powers. Skills: Please include the total skills after adjusting for your stat bonuses. Ex: Computers 4 (+7) Feats: Attack Specialization cannot be bought for "Ranged." If you want to improve all ranged attacks, you would need Attack Focus: Ranged (which adds +1 per rank). This is also problematic as at least one of your alt powers is a melee attack, and thus would have a very low attack bonus without this. One option might to drop the feat and buy Accurate 3 on your array, which would give you +6 to hit with any power which has an attack roll (and not all of them do). Improved Defense: this feat does not increase your normal defense, it only helps if you use the Total Defense Action (which requires the use of your standard action in a round). So your character's defense is only the +5 you purchased in combat. If you want to increase defense beyond that, you need to buy Dodge Focus or the power Shield, each of which only add +1 defense per power point spent. Sneak Attack is also problematic, as with your current ranks of Blast and your attack bonus of +11 (if you make the changes discussed above), you will be violating PL caps when Sneak Attack is figured in. Powers: Invisibility and Silence are not powers, please note these as Concealment Sight and Hearing senses and note all the applicable ranks and other things involved. The Array, I assume the Blast/Damage is rank 8? (need to note that). As for the alt powers, you need to provide more information about each of them, such as how many points of the array each use and whether there are any feats, extras or flaws. Also, what is Soul Blast?

pc Apex (PL 7) - Shojikitsune (Bronze)
Thevshi replied to shojikitsune's topic in Archived Characters
No worries Shoji, sorry I have taken so long to reply (work has been busy and now am on vacation). So a few minor issues: Your grapple is now +4 (due to the -1 from Strength) Your Fort save is +4 base (not from Con) Your Will save is +4, as your Wis bonus is now only +1 You are also only spending10 pp on saves, not 11 as listed. You also listed 11 pp spent on saves in the total on the bottom of the sheet, so you have an unspent point. I count 65 ranks of skills, so you need to drop one rank from somewhere. Looking at the powers in your device, I see one issue. For the Blast, you have a rank 7 blast (14 pp) plus accurate (+1 pp) plus 2 alt powers (2 pp) for a total of 17 pp. You have only spent 15 pp, so you have not paid for the two alt powers. You will need to drop 2 pp from something else to keep those (I would assume flight). You should also note that both alt powers also have accurate so that they also have +7 to the attack roll for them. -
Giang probably should have felt annoyed when the female photographer ignored her request to move away from the rift. But she knew well enough that there were those who put regularly put their lives at risk as part of their livelihood, although some might question the logic of that in the case of someone just wanting to have close up pictures of an incident. Whatever the case, sure enough, the photographer was soon in danger, as a rather unusual car started falling down from a rift that opened up above the woman. At the same time, a speedboat out on the water was being threatened by a whirlpool that was formed by two other rifts. With a quick gesture, Giang pulled water out of the surf, moving it quickly to form a dome between the photographer and the falling car. Once in place, the water took a solid appearance, ready to shield the woman and divert the heavy object. Meanwhile, Giang jumped back up on a new water spout that had moved up beside her, which then quickly carried her out over the water to the distressed speedboat.

Okay, NPCing Kharag for the remainder of the thread. He leaps down to the canyon below, attacking one of the pirates with a heavy weapon and the other pirates nearby. He Takes 10 to hit. They all fail their saves and go down. The undazed tough pirate attacks Paradigm again, missing with a 16.
