GM The Claremont students had just settled in to watching the sparing exhibition, Parker felt a slight feeling off in the distance that reminded him of Lawerence using his powers. But even as he turned toward the direction of the town square, he was barely able to pick up something else, a human sized figure streaking through the air, coming down in the middle of the sparing expedition. The other teens saw something drop down from the sky, landing between the Black Knight and his opponent. Then the two armored men were sent flying through the air, crashing to the ground over a dozen feet away. Standing where they had been sparing was a short young woman with long blonde hair tied in a braid. She was dressed in bell-bottom jeans and a white tunic, a white lily in her braided hair. Looking around at the other armored and armed men that were part of the exhibition, she called out. "Tools of the oppressive patriarchy! You want to fight, come fight me!"

@Tiffany Korta @Supercape @Dracostern @FlyingFresh Okay, going to fiat the Tick-Tock Doc hitting everyone with a targeted area effect Paralyze (everyone gets a HP). Everyone needs to make a DC 25 Will save against the Paralyze effect! Probably time to make initiative rolls as well.

GM When Gookgak made his appearance in the town square on Smaurg, the reaction from much of the crowd had initially been surprised, but impressed by what appeared to be good makeup and special effects. However, at his pronouncement of usurping the kingship, many started to have looks of confusion as they seemed uncertain what was going on. Indeed many of the staff in the area appeared concerned, knowing this was not some scheduled event. A few even made district calls to security to come investigate. Despite Harper and Daphne's attempts to play along, many in the crowed seemed to grow more and more uneasy, many backing away from Gookgak and a few even starting to make for other parts of the faire. But that came to a halt when a sudden wave of distorted air seemed to wash over the entire town square, freezing people in their tracks. As the distortion passed, a man stepped into view, looking over at Gookgak and the bound man behind him. He was dressed in black tight jeans and a brightly colored silk shirt with colored patterns across it. Around his neck were several chains with various symbols hanging from them and he had short brown hair that was styled up with hair gel, red tinted glasses completing his look. "Down with all monarchs, symbols of the Man and the patriarchy!" The man yelled out to the frozen crowd. "Why celebrate this time of oppression! Thankfully, the Counter-Clock Culture is here to set you free man!" As he spoke, around the square, several individuals came into view. They appeared to be young men and women, dressed in tie-dye T-shirts, bell-bottom jeans, with various beads, headbands and jewelry. They began spreading out around the edge of the town square, smashing displays and other faire elements as they went….

Beaudrie Opera House Theater District, Freedom City, New Jersey Tuesday November 12, 2024. 10:20 AM A couple of weeks ago Headmistress Summers had spoken with a few her students about an opportunity to assist a field trip for several of the youth attending the Nicholson School to attend a performance by the Freedom Youth Philharmonic for several area elementary schools. Michael Adon, Sarah Thatcher and Jack Davydov had volunteered. Earlier that morning, the trio had been transported over to the Nicholson campus in nearby Port Regal, where they had met the teacher leading the field trip (Ms. Houston) and the group of forty some students that were attending the performance. They had then loaded onto a school bus and made the trip over to the Theater District in downtown Freedom City. The level of excitement for the students varied considerably, ranging from very excited for many of the younger students (those nine or ten years old) to a more resigned indifference with the teens in the group. The area around the Beaudrie Opera House had been rather chaotic, with more than a dozen school buses all dropping off loads of elementary school students to attend the performance. Michael, Sarah and Jack had managed to help keep all the Nicholson students together and guide them into the building, making a stop by the restrooms for any that needed to use them, before heading off to find the groups seats in large venue. It was perhaps even more chaotic inside the building than out, as hundreds of students were gathered, many chatting away as they waited for the performance to begin, teachers and other chaperones keeping an eye on them and making one last headcount to ensure everyone was present. Sarah found herself sitting near some of the thirteen and fourteen year old students, many of whom were focused on their cellphones or otherwise looking around for distractions. One of the older girls looked particular bored and restless, Sarah thought she recalled her being introduced as Victoria. Jack was seated among some of the ten-year-olds, his gentle nature having won them over on the bus ride, despite his imposing height and frame. Among the group were two twin girls, Madison and Mary who seemed very excited to see the performance. Backstage….. Lynn Conners stood among the other members of the Freedom Youth Philharmonic as they waited for the que to take the stage. The blonde sixteen-year-old was wearing a long black evening dress with sleeves that went to her elbows. She was holding her violin and bow in her hands (her sheet music already out on a music stand by her chair) as she took a deep breath to try to steady the many emotions she was feeling. Although she had been part of the youth orchestra for a couple of years back in her timeline, it felt so very different here. For one thing, all of the other performers were unknown to her, as this timeline’s versions of any that she had known in her timeline being six years younger, and thus not yet in the orchestra (if they were even learning classical music here). Even the conductor was different in this timeline. As if that were not enough, there was also the fact that Lynn had managed to gain a spot in the orchestra outside the normal tryout process (in no small part due to her adopted family’s support of the orchestra over the years). The blonde girl let out a sigh as she opened her eyes again but did not focus on anything in particular as she continued to wait to go out to her seat…..

Slipstream Now that things had calmed down and there were no immediate threats, Lynn began to feel a bit self-conscious about her skin-tight costume, crossing her arms across her chest as she shifted slightly awkwardly. She had been considering how to respond to Jack’s question about Alden, her eyes (concealed behind her goggles) shifting slightly toward the other figure briefly. But then Alden’s appearance returned to normal, reveling what Lynn suspected, given he had indicated he would be attending Claremont. "Yeah, we worked pretty well together." She replied, managing a slight smile. The teen then glanced around the room, physically turning her head to do so, although her goggles made that unnecessary. "Maybe we should depart before the police arrive and everyone starts asking tons of questions?”"

@EternalPhoenix Not really, it was the turn of some of the bad guys. Reposting the order: Round Three 27 Slipstream 2 HP (unharmed) 19 Gookgak 3 HP (unharmed) 19 Prime Mover 3 HP (bruised) 16 Fighters (2 engaging Stomchild) 12 Alien Lts (2 unharmed, 1 subject to Despair-able to act with penalty) 11 Serendipity 3 HP (unharmed) 8 Centuria 2 HP (unharmed) 7 Troopers (14 spread out: 7 subject to Despair-unable to act) 3 Stormchild (bruised 2) 2 Tough Aliens (3 remaining: 2 subject to Despair-unable to act However, the troopers that are not in subject to the Despair do not really have any viable targets. Slipstream moved out of sight up onto a roof, Serendipity is conceled again, and Gookgak is hidden. They will fire shots at Stormchild and Prime Mover, but even if they hit, they have Impervious. So go ahead with Stormchild EP.

Slipstream For a brief moment Lynn seemed slightly disappointed that Mattie wanted to go back to the room first, but just nodded her head. "Sure, we can go to the room and get it set up." She replied, giving the others a nod before she and Mattie set off to their room. It was not a far walk before they had reached the room. Lynn had left their luggage in the middle of the room, between the two beds on either side. Each bed was designed so that the students could select its height, either leaving it down at the normal level for a bed, or raising it up like a bunk bed, creating an open space beneath where they could move their desk, or set up a reading chair, or the like. Each side also had a wardrobe with drawers on the lower level and a desk and chair (which were currently at the end of the bed. "So, do you have a preference for your side?" Lynn asked as she looked at Mattie with a small smile.

Timeout Once the Praetorians were through the portal Lawrence remained focused on it for a few moments, then gave a slight smile. "Our friends are through and back home. Let's get out of here." He said to the others gathered around him, reaching up and pulling his hands back toward him. As he did so, the portal moved towards the group, wrapping around them as Centennial Circle and the gathered Freedom League faded from view. For a brief moment the group felt as if they were being propelled forward at tremendous speed. Then the sensation stopped, and they found themselves standing in the Quad back in the winter air at Claremont. Their bags and other luggage were lying on the ground and standing off to one side where the older students and Iris and Daniel, all apparently safe and sound….

Slipstream Lynn glanced away for a moment as she once again blushed slightly at Jack's comment about her ability to make any outfit look good. It was not that the blonde teen was unaware that she was attractive, but she did tend to not put much thought into her looks or her outfits. Certainly not as much as her mother did (or this timelines version of her mother), or someone like their classmate Estelle. When Jack mentioned having parents who understood having powers, Lynn tensed up for a brief moment. While she certainly agreed with the comment, what Jack did not know was that Lynn parents were gone, lost with the rest of her timeline, and while it was certainly true this timelines version of Megan Howell and her husband understood being involved in the superhuman community all too well, the reminder of her parents stung. Lynn somehow managed to hold back tears, glancing away again and brushing her eyes slightly. Thankfully Jack gave her something else to focus on, as he mentioned some of the thoughts generally going on through his head, causing her to chuckle slightly and manage a faint smile. "It would be nice to just have to worry about the things most teenagers or people think about." She said. She was going to add a bit more, when the nearby zookeeper spoke up about avoiding the wolves. Lynn glanced over to the man, before giving a small nod. "Thanks for the heads up." She stated before looking back up to Jack. "So maybe avoid the wolves. Guess we can start with primates?"

Forgot to mention, you can make untrained Kn: Pop Culture checks, just without Jack-of-all-Trades or Eidetic Memory, the result is capped at 15. ALSO, for the moment, no one can access their powers! (and get a HP for that) Gookgak HP 5 Bounce HP 4 Arctus HP 2 Cerebral HP 3 Quirk’s Boredom Score: 0

@FlyingFresh @Dracostern @Jack @RocketLord Okay, moved things forward. Ony Draco (as Iris) and Flying can post responses at the moment (everyone else will be able to join very soon, and I will give some info for that when Draco and Flying post). In the meantime, everyone can try to make a Kn: Pop Culture check to see if they have some clue as to what is going on. You can make a second Kn: Pop Culture (or a Kn: Galactic Lore) to see what you know about the blond man (Draco, I gave you the rundown on what Iris/Daniel heard from their friends about him, but you can roll to see what they might know independent of that).
-
GM Neither the blond man nor the little girl did not respond to Gookgak's attempt at placating them or the questions from Daniel or Mattie. As the static faded, the bank lobby was gone, replaced by a huge living room with outdated furniture, an overstuffed couch, a set dining table, a doily covered credenza and a glass television built into a wooden cabinet. A kitchen sat on one side of the room, separated by an island with a sink. A hallway led past the kitchen and dining area. A fireplace took up one corner opposite the kitchen, a sliding glass door to a patio next to it. Opposite the fireplace was another hallway leading to a foyer, along the wall between the two was an opening to another hallway. No ceiling hangs overhead—just studio lights and a black void beyond. A musical string sounds from nowhere, followed by soulless laughter, as if from some unseen crowd. As the chortles die away, an unseen, dulcet-toned voice announces. "Stay Tooned is filmed in front of a live studio audience." Gookgak found himself kneeling on the floor next to a coffee table with plastic army men strewn across it. He was dressed in a brightly colored T-shirt and jeans. Iris was sitting nearby in a comfy recliner. She was dressed in a simple dress that went down to her shins, over which she was wearing a comfortable sweater. In her lap were knitting needles and roll of yarn and what appeared to be the start of a placemat, or perhaps a tea cozy.

Slipstream At Jack's comment about her outfit, Lynn blushed slightly as she looked down at her new, and somewhat expensive clothes. The blonde teen never particularly thought about her clothes, but knew she had grown up in very privileged conditions (which had not changed since this timelines version of her mother had taken her in), so she always had plenty of options in terms of clothing. "Thank you." She replied. "But, to be honest, it is not hard to look good when you have the money to spend on clothes." She then added with an almost dismissive shrug. She had another of her half smiles when Jack mentioned the events of their visit to the art gallery during the summer. "Well, not an uncommon situation for people like us. My mom told me plenty of stories about having to duck out of dates and parties in high school and college." Her smile faded as he asked her if she was okay, mentioning her being quiet. "Sorry…I…just have a lot on my mind." She replied, while inwardly she chided herself for letting her issues overly cloud her mood today. "I promise I will try to stay focused more on the present." She added as they moved into zoo, taking in the Halloween decorations that had been put up.
-
Slipstream Lynn had been rather quiet during the Uber ride from Claremont to the zoo, something that was not necessarily atypical for the blonde teen, who often had a rather downcast demeanor on campus. While she had been quick to accept Jack’s invitation to go with him to the zoo, the sixteen-year-old had been experiencing some…uncertainty about the outing. It had nothing to do with Jack, at least not directly, but was more to do with Lynn's own issues related to her home timeline, particularly her feelings of guilt. But by the time they had arrived at the zoo, she resided herself to not dwelling on those feelings and doing her best to enjoy the moment. Jack deserved nothing less. The blonde teen was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, a red sweater, over which she wore a light-grey windbreaker, a pair of white tennis shoes rounding out the outfit. As was typical of her wardrobe, her entire outfit appeared brand new (as it in fact was). Looking up at Jack as the pair walked into the zoo, Lynn managed one of her faint smiles. "Thanks for inviting me to come along Jack. I'm not sure how long it has been since I have been to the zoo." She said, though in the back of her mind she was wondering what differences she might find between the zoo in this timeline and the one from her own.

Multi-Girl Bernadette gave a sigh of relief as she watched what appeared to be reinforcements arrive and quickly begin to deal with the massing Terminus forces. As one of the new arrivals reveled they had been sent by Lawrence, the others were quick to enter the portal that was promised to be a way home. The redhead watched to ensure Iris and Daniel were through, and waiting for the others. If moments she and Rosalind were the last two left. The Irish teen glanced over at Archer and some of the other members of FORCE Ops. Archer met her gaze. "You all should be going. Thanks for the help, it looks like we have a shot a dealing with this now." Giving a small smile, Bernadette looked over to Rosalind. "Well, we're the last two. Let's get ta bloody hell out o' here." She then stepped into the portal at the same time as her friend. The Claremont students felt as if they were being propelled forward at tremendous speed for a brief moment. Then the sensation stopped, and they found themselves standing in the Quad at Claremont, their bags and other luggage lying on the ground. Nearby where the others that had apparently been sent some place else, all apparently safe and sound as well…..

Slipstream Harlequin's shadow weapon pierced OD’s thick skin with ease, leaving no visible wound, but the reaction proved sure enough that it was painful as the large man cried out in pain. For a moment it seemed as if he might resist yet another attack, but as Harlequin drew the shadow weapon back, OD ceased struggling against Jack's grip, his head rolling to the side slightly as he seemed to try to stay conscious, then he went completely limp as he passed into unconsciousness. Outside, the man in the top hat took a few careful steps toward the parked van, watching Lynn carefully. Once assured that she was still at least disoriented from the shock attack, the man gave a quick tip of his hat. “As enchanting as your company is, I am afraid I must be on my way.” He stated with a small grin before turning and quickly climbing into the van. A few moments later, he was driving off down the street, turning a corner out of sight. A few moments after the van turned out of view, Lynn felt herself regain control over her movements, standing back upright and looking down the street. For a brief moment, she considered chasing after the man, but she had no way of letting the others know where she was or how to keep up with her. Besides, she was not sure she was up for a chase through the busy streets of downtown Freedom City, too great a chance a bystander might be injured. Giving a small sigh at letting one of the criminals get away, she turned to the two unconscious Avant Guard lying on the sidewalk. As Jack released OD, leaving his unconscious form on the ground, the two teenage boys turned to the entrance of the gallery as Lynn walked back in. She was carrying one of the unconscious Avant Guard over a shoulder, her other hand dragging the other behind her. Though she was carrying two full grown men, the teenage girl seemed to have little difficulty. Releasing the man she had been dragging, Lynn let the other man drop down to the ground as well. "I'm afraid the other got away." She said, looking down at OD's unconscious form. "Looks like you two were able to deal with him."

Yeah, that's right. He somehow manages a 24 on his Will save, so a third bruise. But the Fort save vs the coup de grace is a 14, which is a fail, so he goes down.
-
Slipstream "Yeah, spreading out sounds like a good idea." Lynn replied to Renee’s suggestion on how to try to address the whole situation with Gookgak. But before the blonde teen could add any more, Kadene spoke up, yelling to get the attention of everyone. Lynn was not entirely certain about the story with Kadene or her twin brother, but she had heard talk they were from some alternate dimension. The blonde teen regarded the other girl somewhat sternly. "You want to be bossy, that's all fine, but save the threats." She stated before turning away. "Come on Mattie, no sense standing around debating what to do." Lynn added before heading toward one of the exits from the pre-fab building.
-
@Kaede Kimura He is bound and helpless, you can spend a full round action to coup de grace him and auto hit/auto crit
-
@Tiffany Korta We will say that is the same one Serendipity just attacked. It makes its toughness save.

Slipstream Outside the gallery, the man in the top hat watched the young speedster as she quickly took down the remaining Avant Guard. Seeing an opening, he lunged forward, jabbing the teenager with the end of his walking stick. Lynn felt a powerful jolt of electricity surge through her, her muscles tightening from the shock as she stagged away from the man in the top hat, her vision darkening slightly. But she struggled against the feeling, managing to stay conscious, but still woozy from the attack. Back inside the gallery, OD tried to struggle against the icy claws that held him, but as large as the man was, Jack's bear form was larger and easily held him in place as he tried to free himself. "Let me lose." He replied, though there seemed to be less confidence in his statement than he had previously shown.

Forgot the top hat's attack: 27! Slipstream gets a 18, going to reroll: 21, just missed the DC 22, so dazed. ROUND SIX 34 Slipstream 0 HP (dazed) 23 OD (bruised x2, grappled/pinned) (-4 PP to all powers started Round 2) 21 Harlequin 1 HP (unconscious) 8 Arctus 1 HP (unharmed) 4 Renoir (unharmed) Okay, Slipstream will try to recover from the daze: 14 nope OD has failed to escape, so @Kaede Kimura you are up!
-
He tries to escape again, but only gets a 24
-
Okay, applying a penalty due to circumstances, but he still gets a 22, so a bit unnerved, but not ready to just surrender.
