Second half: all miss their saves to dodge the area, and all of them are bound and helpless. So only the one remains free.

"I do not really have a means to easily follow them in any event." Tsunami replied as she watched the rock carrying the three other women head north for a moment before turning back toward the other two heroes and then the rapidly collapsing earth creature. "It is possible," she began in response to Ulysses' question about clues of wrong doing showing up under a microscope, "I believe it really depends on what might be behind this." She finished. As he moved into the water to try to find the creatures mouth, Ulysses found that it was no impossible to accurately determine where it might have been, the creature was collapsing so quickly and being eroded away by the current.

Okay, this group has spread out, so she can only catch about half of them. Those four all miss their attempt to avoid the area effect. On the saves vs the snare effect, one manages to escape the effect, the other three are bound and helpless.

Dee had handed over her coat at the door, reveling that she was wearing a short red dress underneath. Her blue eyes shot Erick a stern look at how humorous he had found her exchange with the maître de. "Mr. Sloane, so nice to see you again." She stated, a hint of playfulness in her tone before she looked back at the large form of Alexander Cross who was behind her. "And so nice to see you again Mr. Cross." She added, with a friendly smile. She turned her attention to Anne Pennington as she took her seat when Erick pulled out her chair, managing to maintain her friendly smile as the older woman asked about Susan. "Well I mostly argue with my father as well so I understand how frustrating that can be." She replied. "But my sister is doing as well as can be expected, thank you."

The first antibody Forshadow hits only gets a 15 on its toughness save, and is down. He gets a shot at a second one with Takedown, and it fails with a 15 as well. So that is two down. The first antibody Coield hits gets a 18 on its toughness save, and goes down. The second fails with a 15 and is down. However, the third gets a 24, and resists the attack. Go ahead and make your IC posts, Ex you can use your readied action as well. Tiff, YB is up!

Amazri IV, formally Lor Space March 1, 2015 (Terran Calendar) Amazri IV had long sat well inside the boarders of Lor space, many light years from the contested area with Khanate space. The planet had long been a colony for the Lor, established in the early years of their expansion from Lor-Van. It had developed into one of the Republic's primary centers of industry and manufacturing, with vast automated facilities that covered the northern and southern landscapes of several of its vast continents. Most of the large cities on Amazri IV had been located around its equator, where lush green forests spread out around the cities before giving way to high mountainous zones. Now more than half its surface had become silver colored metal, and even from space it appeared as if veins of the silver metal were continuing to spread towards the rest of the planet. Amazri IV was one of the most recent Lor planets to fall to the Communion, the cyberforming of the planet still underway. A group of the Coalition's top scientists had determined that the cyberforming process provided the most direct access to the Communion's central data centers, with the least protections in place to prevent unauthorized access. In short, if the Coalition was going to learn the whereabouts of the Communion's mothership, it would be by gaining access to one of the central relays on a world being cyberformed. So a small group of Coalition forces were aboard a Grue stealth ship, making their final approach to Amazri IV. "We will be at our target location within ten microcycles." Stated Gur'ul, the Grue Metamorph in command of the stealth ship, turning back to look at the odd collection of beings that he had been ordered to transport to Amarzi IV.

Outer edge of the Sol System The Communion's attack on Earth had been repulsed by many of the planet’s heroes, working alongside several military and extra-governmental forces. For the moment, the planet was safe. But the Communion's world killer weapon was still positioned at the outer edge of the solar system, barely held in check by the Freedom League and their allies. With reports reaching back to the Freedom League and Earth's heroes from the Star Knights about a fleet of Communion ships headed towards the Sol System, possibly to try to assist in getting the world killer free, it was decided that merely holding the world killer at bay was no longer a viable solution. So the remaining League members on Earth had begun gathering a number of volunteers to try to help destroy the world killer before the Communion relief fleet could arrive. The gathering of the various heroes coincided with the return of one of Earth's Star Knights, Kyle Steward, who had firsthand experience against the Communion's deadly weapon. Now, Geckoman was behind the controls of one of the League's Pegasus spaceplanes, flying a rather odd collection of heroes to help in the fight against the world killer….

Amara Val-Ren had to force herself to not let out a deep sigh as the bickering among the Coalition leaders had continued. For the Naram, the longstanding disputes and hatred that existed between some of the Coalition members had been difficult to fully account for in trying to help bring the groups together against the shared threat. Most of her experience had been as part of an organization that was part of an empire primarily under the direction of one ruler. While there certainly were times where there was disagreement among parts of the imperial government, or among members of the empire, the ability for a singular focus to prevail in times of need, such as when the Communion had threatened the empire. But the Delzatri Empire was long gone, vanished while Amara and her fellow surviving Praetorians had lay in stasis on the Curator's ringworld. The young Naram had no desire, or even right, to want to try to reestablish that lost empire, even if she had not been thrown directly in to trying to stop the wave of Communion advance once again. As difficult as it was, the varied members of the Coalition was what she had to work with to try to stop the Communion. As her opinion was sought by one of the more cautions members of the Coalition's leadership, Amara took a deep breath, allowing the senior Star Knight present to speak up first, before she added her thoughts. "Sometimes a slim hope is all that is obtainable Minister Ch'rrr." She began. "If we continue to only try and stop the advance of the Communion and turn it back in direct actions against its forces, we are unlike to have even that." "Even I can only destroy so many Communion battle cruisers minister. To date, the Communion has held the initiative, choosing when and where to strike. It is time we took the initiative back and began making the Communion react to us." "My tactical expert has reviewed the plan presented by Citizen Tulink and finds the risks acceptable, given the potential gains to be had in the Fomalhaut sector. But beyond that immediate advantage, and the possibility of duplicating this success, we have reason to believe that cutting off the Communion forces will require it to reposition other forces, which will potentially expose the Communion Mothership, once we are able to locate it."

NPC Sri A'Lan Koor stood among the gathered leaders of the Coalition, the representative from the Inner Circle of the Star Knights. The aged Lor was dressed in the light blue armor which had been his for more than forty cycles and had his white robes marking him as a member of the Inner Circle. The last several months had been difficult for Koor, as they had for all of the Star Knights. Beyond the losses at Lor-Van, the Order had continued to suffer losses as it worked to try to help hold the Communion’s advance and allow the Lor, Grue and other smaller space powers a chance to regroup and coordinate a response. It had been costly, but had allowed the initial defeats from becoming all out routes, and had lasted long enough for other allies to arrive, such as the Praetorians, the survivors of an ancient group of guardians for an now long gone space empire. Even to Mentor they were something of legends. While they lacked numbers equal to the Star Knights, they certainly did not lack for power, or conviction. Add to that the fact they had actually managed to defeat the Communion some two thousand cycles ago and they had quickly proven capable as inspirations around which Coalition forces had rallied. As Senator Th'emme had sharp words for one of the Grue Arcane on the council, Koor could only glance over at the senior Praetorian that was present in the room, giving her a knowing look. Centuries of animosity and conflict were not easily set aside, even in the face of the threat of total annihilation. "Senator, I am sure Magistar Rull is willing to put the proposed operation to discussion and abide by the decision of the group." Koor stated to Senator Th'emme, seemingly able to resist the tall woman's domineering demeanor. "As for the plan itself," the elder Star Knight continued, looking over toward Minister Ch'rrr and then over toward Citizen's holographic form, "it does carry considerable risk, but any course of action we take will have risk, even if it is just trying to stop the Communion's advance. And if you knew Terrans as I do Minister, you would know they would not suggest something that would needlessly put others at risk."

Okay, for those on the ground with readied actions, there are now targets on the ground. None are in melee range, but, there is the Standard Action charge action which would allow any of you to move up to one and attack.

GM <Yes, cockiness is sure to get us through the night.> Synapse responded over the mental network to Foreshadow's comments. Up in the sky, Young Britannia blasted another of the Communion fighters out of the sky, even as she tried to make herself a harder target. However, she did not do as well as she hoped, as one of the needle like spacecraft banked down after her, and the bright green blast of energy struck the patriotically dressed heroine. Stella managed to dodge another blast, as a pair of the defending fighter planes were damaged by energy blasts from the needle ships. But several of the needle fighters turned away from the chaotic dogfight, diving down toward the ground and heading towards the UNISON headquarters building. As the dozen or so needle fighters neared, antiaircraft guns that had been set up opened up, tracers arching up into the night sky. A pair of needle fighters were hit, disappearing in bright explosions. The others began returning fire with green energy blasts, which blasted pockmarks into the sides of the building or around the grounds outside. Professor Chiron waited until one of the needle ships was closer, and then opened fire with the weapon pods on his flanks. The blasts struck the darting spacecraft, causing it to erupt into a bright explosion as well. But for all the ones the ground defenders had managed to shoot down, twice that number managed to make it through the antiaircraft fire, and slammed down into the area around the UNISON building. As the needle like ships came to a halt after impacting with the ground, their sides peeled away, each releasing four humanoid forms covered in similar silver metal as the spaceships were.

The needle fighter gets a 24, but not good enough, and is destroyed. Some of the needle fighters break off and start diving toward the bases. Professor Chiron uses his readied action to shoot at one: hitting with a 22. That needle fighter gets a 13 and is destroyed as well. A needle fighter fires at Stella, missing with a 14, another shoots at YB, hitting with a 24, so another DC 25 toughness save for YB.

That is a critical hit, so it would be a DC 26 save. The Garrote gets a 14, which is staggered and dazed. So that will effectively end combat.

Round Three 10 Coiled Lightning (bruise, 2 HP) 5 Garrote (unharmed)
-
Bittman back away a moment, clearly shocked and surprised by Coiled Lightning's appearance, and the announcement there was a killer nearby. Then the older man turned and started running back toward the offices. Meanwhile, the shower of sparks caused by the whip illuminated a wide area around Coiled Lightning, banishing shadows and darkness that had previously been there. The sudden flood of light reveled the dark cloaked figure of the Garrote crouched down near an exhibit about twenty feet from the whip wielding hero. The Garrote appeared surprised to have been exposed, but recovered quickly, holding out one hand that glowed faintly as one of the wax figures near Coiled Lightning suddenly seemed to leap at the hero. It happened too quickly for Coiled to avoid the wax figure, which slammed into him hard. The hero managed to remain on his feet, as the wax figure toppled onto the ground, but the impact certainly stung.

Okay, the sparks of light you produce revel the Garrote, who was trying to hide among some of the statutes twenty feet away. Environmental Control is a standard action to activate, so you cannot attack in the same round. So the Garrote will act, throwing one of the wax figures at Coiled with telekinesis, hitting with a 25. That is a DC 20 toughness save for Coiled.

Velocity quickly took in the arrival of the additional group of antibodies while still keeping close tabs on the two she was already fighting. "Just wonderful." She muttered as the technician's update came over the communicator. But she knew she could not slow down, there were still a number of groups that no one was facing yet, and who knew what damage they might be causing to the Lighthouse. Once again the speedster became a blur of yellow, as she zipped about the area, moving from one antibody to another. A rapid series of loud *CRACKS* echoed in the station, caused by her fist breaking the sound barrier as she struck each of the antibodies, attacks happing so quickly after another that the mini-sonic booms they created almost seemed to take place at the same moment. Around the room, nine of the Communion were knocked off their feet by the force of the blows, smashing into walls, and even each other as the crumpled into heaps, broken and smashed. But one of the antibodies that had just arrived took the powerful hit from the yellow clad speedster without even so much as flinching. Its cold eyes locked on to the yellow blur, following it to where Velocity came to a halt a short distance away. "Damn it." The speedster stated as she saw the remaining antibody still standing, knowing this was going to delay her…
