GM The large earth creature somehow swung its head back around, focusing on Tsunami, the one to have most recently hurt it. Letting out another loud roar, the creature started forward towards the Asian teen and the others still over by the river. It quickly covered the distance, bringing up a massive fist which it brought down toward Tsunami. But the agile teen leapt aside, hopping off the glowing yellow energy platform she had been riding on. The earth creature's fist struck the platform, shattering it, but otherwise causing little other damage. Up on the flying rocks held aloft by Tundra, Crimson still seemed about like she was going to fall over at any moment, but she raised one hand, sending a blast of red energy at the earth creature. The blast struck dead center, causing yet another roar of pain, as the creature took a half step backward, trying to right itself once more. Tundra then took the flying rocks higher up into the air, removing Clover, Crimson or herself from the creature's possible reach. Clover meanwhile put up a force wall of glowing yellow energy, shielding herself and her companions from any possible counter attack.

Okay, I am going to remove the earth creature's daze (HP to both Ulysses and Tsunami). It is then going to move over toward the water and try to hit Tsunami, but misses with a 14. Crimson will shot at it again, hitting with a 24. Its toughness save: 19 so bruised and dazed again. Tiff, Miss Grue is up, she is on the ground and a long way away from the creature. Paradigm had moved back to the far side airlock, as Elite had indicated for her plan. The Naram paragon looked at the Lor who were nearby as she prepared to exit the Either Ore once more for the void of space to face the Communion. "Be ready, should any get past me, it will fall on Kharag and the rest of you to protect the civilians aboard. May your ancestors watch over you." With that, Paradigm entered the airlock and was soon soaring through the calm void. She saw Elite fly from the Devotion, passing over the cargo ship to attack the Communion by surprise. Speeding after her fellow Praetorian, Paradigm rose up into view of the Communion ships, as she positioned herself to one side of Elite and then swung her open palms together in front of her, sending a massive shockwave through space, which struck two of the needle fighters and the larger Communion ship. One of the needle fighters was ripped apart by the shockwave, but the other survived. The larger ship suffered little more than superficial damage. Clearly she was going to have to take a more direct approach if she wanted to possibly stop it.

The earth creature's powerful blow sent Miss Grue flying backward a short distance, the gigantic Grue crashing to the ground, causing a bit of a tremor for the nearby area. Then Ulysses ran up and delivered two powerful blows to the creature, causing it to roar in pain and stagger backward slightly. Back over near the edge of the river, Giang noted how the creature seemed to finally be reeling from all the combined hits it had been receiving. Although it was still on its feet and not out of the fight, it certainly appeared to be feeling each attack that landed more and more. Determined to try to help bring it closer to being subdued, the Asian teen raised her hands once more, once again sending a blast of water towards the massive creature. This time the blast struck home, hitting it on the side of the head and causing the creature to roar in pain yet again, as it jerked its head to the side slightly, and was slow to refocus. Giang meanwhile took a deep breath, as she pushed past the exhaustion she had been feeling, steeling herself to press on.

Round Sixteen 18 Tsunami (bruised, fatigued, 2 HP) 14 Earth Monster (bruised 9, dazed) 9 Clover (staggered, bruised) 9 Crimson (bruised 2, staggered) 9 Tundra (bruised) 8 Ulysses (fatigued, 0 HP) 7 Miss Grue (bruised 4, dazed, 0 HP) Okay, Tsunami is going to use defensive attack once more (-2 atk/+2 def) and try to blast the Earth Monster, she hits with a 19. Earth monster’s tough save (vs DC 26): 12, so I will give it a reroll (HP to Tsunami): 20, so another bruise and still dazed. Tsunami will use that new HP to remove her fatigue.

Corona is fine then. HG, it has been over a day since I stated Memorial was up. I am going to move ahead tomorrow morning sometime.

Starshot's aim was true once again, as the plasma net flew straight at Silver, expanding as it neared the feline pirate. But despite her half-conscious condition, the pirate captain still retained something of her feline luck, managing to twist just right as the web tried to wrap itself around her, somehow avoiding being trapped altogether. The pirate that had been helping Silver continued pulling her along, moving as quickly as he could when half weighed down by the feline pirate. The pair disappeared down a side street, moving out of view as they continued away from the now all but completed battle. Most of the fires along the path of Starshot's plasma burst had died out, but a few still burned as a weakened section of wall collapsed on one of the buildings.

That will hit, but Silver avoids being trapped with a 23 on her Reflex roll.

GM With a roar as it turned back towards Miss Grue, the earth creature swung a massive arm at the Grue, the powerful blow connecting with her upper torso. With Tsunami now on the energy platform, Clover began moving the construct, bringing the Asian teen over near the river where Ulysses and the others were now gathered. The part-Asian young woman otherwise just stood where she was on the rock Tundra was controlling, looking like a strong wind could knock her out at this point. Her sister did not look much better, but Crimson once again aimed one hand at the massive earth creature and sent another blast of red energy its way. This time her blast struck true, slamming into the creature's face, causing it to roar in pain as it swayed, appearing disoriented by the attack. Tundra meanwhile kept the rock platforms she and the twins were standing on up in the air as she looked on. "That may well bring it to us."

Okay, the earth creature will take a swing at Miss Grue, hitting with a 20. That is a DC 33 toughness save for Miss Grue. Clover will move Tsunami back toward the water, while Crimson will fire a blast at the earth creature, hitting with a 27. So DC 27 toughness save for the creature: 21 so it is bruised and dazed. Tundra is holding her action. Ulysses is up!

To be sure we keep moving along, I'll note my action now Giz. Paradigm will fly out to join Elite, and use the Shockwave feat of her super-strength. Given PL caps, this should be capped as a +12 cone damage effect.

Actually, that is just dazed. You have to miss by 5 or more to be stunned.

"Well, we are still looking into his background." Sergeant Turner replied as he led the two heroes toward a nearby squad car. "He is not coming up as having any criminal record in any databases so far. We should have more information in a hour or so. But given the previous thefts, we did not want to wait in searching his house, in case he has accomplices that could move the other items stolen if we waited too long." The three climbed into the patrol car and left the scene at the tech company, heading towards the low hills to the west of downtown Freedom City. It was not long before Sergeant Turner pulled up in front of a small, well kept Victorian style home in a nice neighborhood of Lantern Hill. Two other police cars were already present, and as the trio exited the squad car, one of them came over and informed Sergeant Turner that they had observed no activity within the house and not seen anyone enter or leave. The Sergeant led the two heroes toward the front door, ringing the doorbell and then waiting a few moments for an answer. After ringing and knocking a few more times, he looked over at the two heroes. "Well, seems like no one is home." He withdrew a small evidence bag from a pocket, in which he had Malone's keys, and, using gloves, searched till he found the key to open the front door.

The remaining portion of the flight to the site (about thirty minutes) seemed to pass somewhat slowly, particularly for Seika, who was contorted into a rather uncomfortable position. But reach the destination they finally did. They were flying along a long stretch of lowland hills when the flier arrived at a small lake which formed at the bottom of a high waterfall, which plunged over a series of cliffs. From that lake, a narrow river twisted through the jungle, heading off to the lowlands and eventually the ocean, which Oskar and Seika could see off in the distance. There was a small clearing near the edge of the lake, in which tall grass grew, save for a section that was blackened and burned, surrounding the twisted husk of what had likely been the gav vehicle used by the collection team that had been killed. Ulan brought their grav vehicle down into the clearing, landing on the side opposite from where the destroyed vehicle sat. Was they were a short distance above the ground, the Lor retracted the canopy, exposing them all to the hot, humid air of the jungle, and the roar of the nearby waterfall. The gav vehicle stopped to hover a few feet above the ground, as its passengers were able to hop out and into the more than knee high grass (to all but Seika anyway). "Whatever attacked the collection team also went after their flier, for some reason. Ruptured something that eventually caused an explosion, but it was apparently gone before that." Ulan called out, speaking loudly to be heard over the waterfall. Moving over near the burned section of grass and wrecked grav vehicle, Oskar was able to make out some tracks in the ground at the site, which appeared large enough to be whatever it was that had killed the collection team, but he was not able to easily follow the tracks, given the passage of time since the attack had occurred.

Deep Freeze's icy blast struck the large reptilian pirate squarely in the face and upper torso. It had tried to bring up its arms against the icy assault, but that did little to stop the effect. A thin layer of ice formed along its upper body and arms, as the pirate staggered backward, hurt and dazed from the cold. Further down the street, the feline pirate captain was still dazed from Starshot's attack, only able to stay on her feet with the support of the pirate that was trying to move them away from the battle. For the moment, it certainly appeared as if the pirates were giving up the battle.

Okay, the drone on the disabled Communion ship attacks Corona, hitting with a 19. That is a DC 19 Fort save vs. Stun. The drone on the Aphelioin attacks Mechanized, hitting with a 21. She also needs to make a DC 19 Fort save vs. Stun. The needle fighters keep after the pirate interceptors (second roll is against damaged one): 9 and 22, so a miss and a hit. Interceptor's toughness save: 24, so another injured. Okay, Memorial is up!

Aboard the disabled Communion ship The attack from the drone stung Corona, knocking her back slightly and dazing her. The drone moved forward once more, green energy dancing along its arms as he reached toward the Lor once more, grasping her wrist in its metal hand. The green energy surged through that hand, arching over Corona's arm as she felt pain all through her arm. Two other drones appeared at the hole in the side of the Nomad, their cold eyes turning toward the Lor. Aboard the other Communion ship After burning a large hole through the door across the middle of the hallway, Galvanic found the hallway continue on beyond. For the moment it was clear of any more of the drones. Several smaller doors lined either side of the hallway as it went deeper into the vessel. The walls and floor around her vibrated slightly, from some sort of impact to the ship. Aboard the Aphelion The remaining Communion drone in the central section of the merchant vessel seemed little concerned about being all alone. Green energy crackled along its arm and hand as it reached out and grasped Emily's shoulder, the energy transferring into the human woman's body. From down the hall toward the rear of the Aphelion, the sounds of another battle could still be heard. Out in space The final two Communion needle ships arched through the cold void around the merchant and pirate ships, continuing their duel with the two remaining pirate interceptors. While one interceptor continued to avoid the incoming green energy blasts from one of the needle ships, the second took another hit, suffering more minor damage but otherwise still in the fight.
